Friendly staff and food excellent and reasonably priced and seating area was nice and clean and the toilets were clean as well

We were visiting the area & wanted somewhere to eat, having eaten here for many years we decided to eat here again. You can book online which was easy & there was plenty of parking. On arrival there was a sign on the door that they were shutting at 8:30 for training which wasn’t good. You need to register your car on a tablet so you don’t get a ticket. We were shown to our table & given the menus & our drink order was taken. After a while the drinks arrived my blackcurrant & lemonade was barely drinkable but was eventually changed. The food order was then taken & we went on the evening set menu which looked good value. When our meals arrived I looked at my steak & it looked rough & shouldn’t have got past the chef to be cooked yet alone got to the customer, this was high lifted to the waitress who took it back to be replaced. My father continued to eat his steak & when he had finished his my meal arrived which was a lot better this time. Eventually the waitress cleared our plates & then took our dessert order, these then arrived in cold bowls so the custard was cold & spoilt the dessert which again was high lighted to the waitress who took note & mentioned it to the manager. The bill then came & they had removed my steak from the bill & reduced the price of the desserts. The manager didn’t have the manors to come & apologise her self, tables weren’t being cleared, chefs were delivering food to the tables, the staff seemed to be rushing customers to order so the could start their training for Xmas it would be better to have some hospitality training as they were severely lacking basic training. This venue has gone down hill drastically since our last visit.

10 out of 10 for Keats, she was so good ,especially as we were upstairs, And she remember all the drinks,we were a party of 35 ,could not fault at all .will definitely go there again.and the food was excellent.

We’ve been here many times and always have the same mains…Surf & Turf and the Mixed Grill Always been good and filling but this time the quantities of every item on the plate were reduced…the steak was minuscule, the chips were less than 10, the chicken was about a third less than usual, the peas were reduced in quantity. Not worth the money anymore If Beefeater think that sudden shrinkflation is going to work they’re in cloud cuckoo land We won’t be back and judging by how quiet the restaurant was, a lot more loyal clients are voting with their feet Beefeater, wake up, shrinkflation doesn’t work

Fantastic food staff service couldn't fault it. Especially George a waiter whom made sure we has regular drinks. Asked us if we were happy with the food. Enjoyed our time there

Leanne was an absolute superstar. We had a couple of specific requests which Leanne accommodated with a smile and delight - in fact all our asks were no problem at all! What a lovely lady and so understanding. Food was good and value for money - as to be expected but it was Leanne that made this a memorable dinner. Thank you Leanne.

Have been a few times food always great staff are friendly. BUT, this has happened twice now, when ordering the waiters need to write the orders down we have ordered the food and twice it has been wrong because the order was not written down.

Had a lovely meal with the family. Staff were great, especially Mitch, and the food arrived quickly. We all enjoyed our meals.

Staff as usual were fantastic (hence the 3 stars) but we all agreed that the rib-eye steak was thinner than before (and therefore drier) and the chip portion was measly. It would be far better to increase the price a bit and get back to the previous high standard of food.

A very enjoyable evening for a friends birthday. Jade our server was amazing as there were about 20 of us. She did a great job keeping us supplied with drinks and food. Nothing was too much trouble. Food was very good too. Thank you.

Had a great Sunday roast beef 🥩 A great portion of beef and roasties . Was a pleasure eating here this afternoon. Had a great meal and was amazing value considering what was on the plate with the roast beef too. Beautiful broccoli 🥦 spears too. And lovely parsnip . Great ambience. Will define coming back to the Somerford.

Great family meal - service was prompt, friendly and easygoing. We had a booth which was comfortable. I ordered chicken wings for starter then chicken and ribs combo, not realising I would get more chicken wings! Had to take a doggy bag home with those! Plenty of offers of drinks refills. All in a good meal and I would recommend. Parking easy but remember to log your car registration to avoid a fine, no one reminded us!

Food cool and when pointed this out to staff they just oh .they served 2 meals and we then waited ages for the third meal I would not come again

After being stuck in traffic on our way home, we decided to stop at The Somerford to see if we could have some dinner. Once in we were seated very quickly and reminder to fill in our car details. Despite it being busy the food came out quickly and hot. The staff were friendly and happy to answer any questions we had about the food.

The staff are amazing. Cheerful, helpful and just great. Breakfast is pretty good for the money, as is dinner. The restaurant, especially in the cold light of day, is grubby and desperately needs a make-over.

We enjoyed an excellent meal and the staff were efficient and friendly. Our only complaint was that on arriving home and checking the bill, we found that we had been overcharged by £1.99 for pepper sauce which we did not have. !!!

Daniel was a great host, very polite, kind and cheerful. Food was amazing too, fries were really good and the burgers were nice and juicy!

Good value breakfast had the fresh fruit salad to start, followed by full English with a perfectly cooked poached egg. Lots of choices. Our waitress Lily was calm professional attentive and personable. A very relaxing experience.

Booked into the restaurant for evening meal both nights, Sunday night was quite good, and service was reasonable however Monday night (our anniversary) was disastrous. The table we were assigned seemed to be in no mans land as we waited 20 minutes for someone to take our drinks order, they came back 10 minutes later with them and took our food order. The starters arrived 40 minutes after we’d sat down (8:10pm), the main were over an hour and a half after we’d sat down (9pm). We managed to catch a passing waitress for more drinks while our mains were delivered. The food itself was over cooked and poorly presented, not worth the price charged. The duty manager seemed to be dodging the flak from disgruntled diners by walking around with a phone glued to her ear. The table next to us was covered in empty plates, glasses etc when we sat down at 7:30pm and wasn’t cleared until well after 9pm as we’d finished out mains as well by then. At no time could we catch someone to ask for a dessert menu so went without however when the waitress saw money on the table she was straight there asking if we wanted the bill. I was pleased to leave on Tuesday and will not visit there again as it completely ruined our celebration.

Came in to see the famous scarlet aka Jade and see if she was as wonderful and loopy as everyone says and wasn’t disappointed. She even put on the entertainment and sang a bit of Taylor swift and Adele with her incredible angelic vocals. It’s ashame she can’t have a regular permanent residency every Friday night. My personal favourite was her impressions of iconic actresses whilst single handedly waitressing doing bar and cooking all at once ! Super women. Girl power. Keep doing what ya doing. U will be missed when u go on ya travels.

Jade was an amazing bar maid proving an outstanding service. Nothing was too much trouble, would definitely return after a wonderful experience.

Came here for a 80th birthday with the family and the food was amazing and well cooked the chefs Andrew and Bryce did an amazing job and our severs were amazing and helpful

Went there tonight with the family, 4 adults and 2 children, the restaurant wasn’t busy, one yo7 got lady serving half the restaurant, everyone was wait8ng to put their orders, even when they put their orders they had to wait for ages to have it, after waiting for what seem t9 be ages, I asked her can I go to t(e bar and get our drinks, as we’ve been waiting for ages, she then went and brought them. We ordered Natchos which supposed to come with Salsa, melted cheese and guacamole, all we got, was Natchos, chopped tomatoes, chopped onions, no salsa and no guacamole. We checked the menu to double check the ingredients and sure enough they had missed it all. When I questioned with the waitress, she went to check with the kitchen and came back saying the kitchen never told her they ran out of guacamole and the chopped tomatoes were the salsa!!!!😂😂 The main course came, it was cold, the chicken and rib combo were dry, felt like they had been cooked ages ago, reheated several times as dry as sand!!! The chips were nice though!!! Nearly all the tables were uncleared, and nearly all the customers were waiting to pay and rush off. Such a shame, nice atmosphere but the food and the service was embarrassing and dreadful. Never again.

I organised a group of 22 to have a dinner at this Beefeater (as well as us all staying at the adjacent Premier Inn). The initial liaison with the Beefeater staff to organise this large group was first class - they were so helpful. On the night, we could not fault any of the staff and the meal was served well organised and al together. the group had a great time mainly due to the excellent staff. Well done all of you.
