Thoroughly enjoyed an early dinner at this popular Algerian restaurant. The food was delicious and plentiful, priced about right and cheerfully served.

Excellent food, excellent service.

We were looking for a lunch in Mill Road Cambridge (where there are lots of options) and chose Bedouin because we had never eatend african food (and because it was open on Saturday lunchtime). It was really good! The food was tasty, the service polite and it was pretty good value for money. Tip: Does not serve alcohol. Recommended!

Amazing service, but the food is the star of the show. We loved the Hanouinette, hummus with lamb, and chicken parcels. The tagines are heavenly and the desserts are irresistible, even after having eaten too much! Beautiful and cosy restaurant, fantastic atmosphere, staff who really seem to love their jobs. I’m lucky we live close by !

This place totally lives up to its hype! Glad I followed the recommendations online and dined here. The food was super delicious and in large portions. It has a bedouin tent decor; and water and meals are served in traditional pottery, which makes up a cool ambiance. I had lamb liver for starters, lamb kofte for main meal, and the sunset djanet cocktail. Service was also great, I was waited by Yasin and Amanda who were both amazing. I understand prices are normal for Cambridge but totally a bargain compared to London given the quality!! Starters and cocktails around £7 and all mains around £15-£20. Also, they keep a halal kitchen and all coctails are non-alcoholic, which helps if you have Muslim dietary restrictions. (I could finally eat meat outside, hooray.) Overall, this place made my day, totally recommended. Definitely MAKE A RESERVATION in advance, I showed up without one and although it was Monday night they were fully booked. Luckily I was there early and they could accommodate me. As I was leaving, the place was full!

Full marks. Great service and fantastic food. Tagine Berkook was delicious, large chunks of beef with plenty of prunes and apricots. The Lemon and Mint juice was really refreshing.

Small place but worth the work to get a table. The food is very high quality. The servers are nice and friendly. Just could not try as many things as I wanted so will have to go back.

I went there for a birthday surprise meal for my husband, and the food was absolutely amazing! The portions were really big, and the quality of the food was outstanding! The staff were wonderful, and the interior made us feel so welcome! We will definitely be back again. Thank you once again for making our evening so special.

We've eaten here several times and it honestly is one of the best meals out I've ever had. Last night we bought a couple of friends who live locally but have never been before, the wait staff were SO HELPFUL in finding us a table (I would always always recommend booking though a couple of days in advance, especially on a Saturday night, we just got Really lucky!) and our friends can't stop raving about the food. We tend to have Hummus Belaham and Bastille Dejej (a pleasant sweet/savoury surprise) to start and a tagine for main- my particular favourite is the beef which is always a huge, flavourful portion with a generous serving of meat. We travel into Cambridge often and will always try to eat here when we can, it's very reasonably priced and genuinely delicious food with great service in a gorgeous setting...what more could you ask for?!

It is an experience visiting this place , great ambience you could feel like you were in Africa apart from seeing the buses etc go past on Mill Road. Enjoyed the meal . Generous portions.

I highly recommend the Levantine Mousaka; I don't know what they used for dressing on the salad but it was delicious. Very good mint tea out of beautiful pots and glasses. I enjoyed an excellent meal at this popular North African restaurant, a favourite of a family member who lives locally. The decor is amazing, it feels as though you’re seated in a large tent filled with beautiful lanterns. The food doesn’t disappoint either - generous portions with interesting choices for vegetarians and meat eaters. Note, the restaurant is an alcohol free space.

This is the place you're looking for. Delicious food, friendly staff and a great atmosphere. Perfect from start to finish. We started with the feta/spinach starter, then had the lamb shank tagine with couscous and the roast chicken with rice. Looking forward to coming back in the future to try more dishes! The type of place when you're hoping it'll be nice and then they deliver on all fronts.

Me and my friend had a fantastic meal in Bedouin. Very good service, lovely decoration, great atmosphere. The food was delicious. I've been before and had the hoummus which is also delicious. The green beans are delicious so I would highly recommend any dish with them on. We didn't try the tagine as I'm not a fan, but others were having it and looked happy. They also have mocktails which looked amazing, maybe one for next time. Thank you Bedouin!

We came to visit Cambridge for a couple of days and I had booked a table at Bedouin for dinner. Just WOW! This place is an absolute delight and we haven’t stopped talking about it since. Not only is the food amazing but the atmosphere was both relaxed and vibrant at the same time. It was cosy in a good way, warm and inviting just like the staff that served us. Nothing was too much trouble even when we’d decided we couldn’t fit desert in and then changed our minds! There was no way we couldn’t have desert after the glorious food we’d already tasted and we finished it all off with the mint tea which was delicious. We can’t thank you enough for a memorable evening that we won’t forget. If we ever venture back to the area we will definitely return. It wasn’t just a meal it was an experience and you could see we weren’t the only ones to notice because the place was full so we’d recommend booking too. Just brilliant!

The ambience of this restaurant is only topped by the quality of the food that is made here. The lamb tagine with cous cous and the Achet Khodar (Pastry Will with vegetables and feta cheese) were absolutely phenomenal! I will absolutely be coming back here again!

It was our first time trying North African cuisine, and it was absolutely delicious. The generous portions left us fully satisfied, and the warm, inviting atmosphere made the experience even better. We’ll definitely be back!

Booked an early evening slot the day before. Was well aware that it did not serve alcohol and it was not BYO. The food was absolutely lovely. We had the Large Kemiette with an extra brick pastries. These were a selection of dips with some pitta breads which all tasted lovely. The Brik pastries with feta and spinach in were very good and the Brik pastries with chicken in was a little different as it had sugar in top but the combination worked well and it was a real highlight. This starter was large for two people, so take note. Im quite a big eater and was already a little full before the main came out. I chose the Tagine Kefte Bedaoui- lamb meatballs in a tomato sauce with cheese on top and an egg. It was absolutely lovely. Incredibly hot and it was a large portion of four large meatballs served with warm flatbreads. I'd over indulged on the starter and could not get near finishing it. I took the rest home for the following day and it tasted as good as I remember. The lamb meatballs were beautifully seasoned with various herbs and spices and tender and the tomato sauce they were in was rich and thick and worked perfectly in my opinion. Don't think of this as an Italian style meatballs in tomato sauce, it was very different but worked so well. The staff were polite and prompt, exactly as you would want. I would thoroughly recommend and am hoping to go back soon.

A little gem tucked away on Mill Road. Wonderful decor and ambience, always popular with locals and visitors alike. Delicious dishes and a unique ambience. Highly recommended.

It was so difficult to pick one dish because everything sounded amazing! The food was incredibly tasty and the perfect portion size. The decor is very interesting and blends really well with the food which overall creates a really nice experience. Will definitely come back!

One of our favourite places to eat in Cambridge. The food is amazing and we often visit. I've tried most of the meat dishes on the menu and the Lamb shank tagine is my favourite. The starters of hummus with lamb and shakshuka are also my go to. You always get plenty of bread for dipping, the portion sizes of the meals are huge and you won't leave feeling hungry. The restaurant has a Moroccan feel with the walls and ceilings covered in Arabic art. The seats are slightly uncomfortable and quite close together but that wasn't an issue for us. I would highly recommend a visit :)

This is the worst meal I've had in Cambridge & one of the most hyped restaurant. I am convinced people in Cambridge either lost their sense of taste or just haven't eaten this type of cuisine before. Drinks - asked for a cocktail recommendation , got recommended some pineapple drink - said okay I'll trust the waiter's recommendation - ended up not being a cocktail at all - it was some kind of juice (I like pineapple in cocktails but not on its own) so it was rly revolting . When I said I was expecting a cocktail, there was no apology or an offer to change it. I took 1 sip and didn't drink anything. Had to ask for tap water. Food- the aubergine with chilli starter was horrific . Genuinely, no flavour , undercooked and bland. The tagine I got was a fair portion but it was extremely salty and the meat tasted like rubber. The couscous was the worse couscous I've ever eaten. I was struggling to eat my food. This place is extremely bad for anyone who has eaten this cuisine before and I'm glad they found a place in Cambridge because in any major city in England - this place will get trounced by competition First time in England I've had to voluntarily brave the courage to say I don't want to pay the discretionary service charge. Usually I do so out of basic courtesy , but this time I just couldn't . £31 for that awful dinner & service.

The restaurant recommended by a colleague, I personally think it is the best and delicious meal I have ever had in Cambridge. It is really worth coming here to try. Remember to leave more time to enjoy the atmosphere of the meal.

Fantastic food, wow. Came here as a group of four vegetarians and we all thought the food here was phenomenal. We had been meaning to come here for the past few years since we moved to Cambridge and the food did not disappoint one bit! Bravo!

Loved this place. Came across it accidentally as I was looking for Halal food in Cambridge. Had the Lamb Tagine and the meat was so tender and the whole meal flavoursome. The 77 drink was also unique and refreshing. The decor is creative and beautiful. Service was also very good and efficient. Would definitely return if I find myself in Cambridge again.

Unbelievable dining experience! We went as a group of four and ended up staying in there for hours, the atmosphere was so inviting and we forgot the time! We ordered a selection of 4 tagines. The portions were very generous and the authenticity was on point considering we just got back from Morocco last week! Finished the meal of with some Arabic coffee and mint tea. As Cambridge residents we've always heard of this restaurant and finally ventured into the amazing place. P.S. the decor is beautiful.

unauthentic. The atmoshere off the restaurant is nice but the food is unauthenic. The fishTagine was very watery (like soup) and was served with mussuls, couscous and without bread. The moroccan tea didn't have sugar and was server in a turkish tea glass. So i didn't what kind off cousine this restaurant has but it is not Moroccan.

I visited the restaurant and the decorations give people the impression that the restaurant serves moroccan cousine. However i ordered moroccan nana tea and got tea without sugar served in a turkish tea glass. The appetizer was some vegetables drenched in vinegar. Finally the fish Tajine was some fish fillet, mussels, lots of broth and couscous. I am moroccan and have never eaten this dish nor have i seen moroccans this dish.

Tasty, exotic, succulent delights done as if in the desert, yet in a fine comfortable seated setting with excellent staff. The food arrives piping hot, literally steaming when the covers are lifted. A true find this side of Muscat!

We visited Cambridge and came across this lovely restaurant. Nice decor, delicious food and excellent service. It was very busy but they kindly accommodated without a booking as we went early. Food came out quickly. Tagines tasty and good portions. Free car park nearby after 6pm.

The food was amazing but the service was very poor. When we ordered there was only 2 other tables. Ordered the RAYESH MECHAOUI x2. It took 45 minutes! too come. Really unhappy. And plus there's not many lights in the place and none in the toilet.

We ordered the lamb chops witch contained 4xlamb chops and a small serving of fries the food overall was delicious a 9/11 but we ended up ordering 3 of those and it ended up taking about 45mins the food ended up really expensive overall we ordered 5 drinks the cocktails were really good we also ordered some king prawns as an starter witch was really good as well but it ended up coming g to about £92 but because of delay they charged us £86 the lights are very dim and the bathroom was very small from the prices of the food they should be able to afford lights as they were packed the tap barely worked and the toilet is very small

Really nice place! Food was divine and portions were huge. We did struggle to finish one starter and one main per person. Service was also great aside from a server that maybe didn't have much experience but was kind of let on her own. Definitely going back.

This is a very popular joint and it’s popular for a good reason. The Tajines are exceptionally good but really in general everything I’ve tried here is made to perfection I would recommend booking if you can, as the place is popular

We had an evening meal at this restaurant on Sat April 6. This restaurant is always consistently busy, so we had booked earlier so as not to be disappointed after our trip to the cinema. This restaurant serves Algerian/North African food and the decor is very traditional and has a lovely cosy ambience. We have eaten here quite a few times now and always find the staff very welcoming. My wife has a gluten, dairy and egg free diet but it is never an issue, as there is always plenty on the menu to choose from. The food will please vegetarians and meat eaters alike and ranges from warming spicy tagines to flavoursome rice and couscous or vegetable dishes. The food is always fresh, colourful and delicious. It does get very busy with a steady stream of customers and you can see why it is very popular. A lovely treat on a cold windy evening! We will always return and recommend to others.

This is a lovely and lively restaurant with great service. I liked the variety of the non-alcoholic cocktails menu; although I think I chose wrongly as the 77 was much too sweet and I really couldn't taste the ginger. Do be aware that they leave the stones in the prunes; I found 3 in my tagine so I don't think this was an oversight. The menu prices on their website didn't match some of the items on my bill; but I didn't check if they matched the menu I was given at the restaurant. Perhaps their website needs updating? Also the bill shows £0 for tax but they have a VAT registration number so I'm uncertain what that's all about. I had no problem paying the 10% service charge as staff were all friendly and helpful.

We spotted the excellent reviews so decided to give this wonderful restaurant a go. We were first in but glad we booked as by 6pm the restaurant was full. The food was exceptional with my critical 21 year old saying the BOREK JUBNA was the best thing she has ever tasted. The dish my husband and daughter ordered the TAGINE KEFTE BEDAOUI looked amazing and tasted amazing, my dish the FELOUS M'ASELLA was absolutely beautiful. The staff were so friendly and the ambience of the restaurant was amazing. We will definitely be back.

I really wanted to like this place as the atmosphere was really good and the food was delicious. Unfortunately, service was not good enough. Lots of waiting without being looked after. They should find a solution to manage the service!

Myself and family, have visited this restaurant for thirty years. It’s like the best friend that you have in the whole world, but you don’t see often enough. When you meet again though, you remember, and realise that nothing can ever come close. It’s truly perfection. We went there last night to celebrate my daughter’s birthday, we have had so many wonderful celebrations there. Twelve of us, so excited , to be back again. Did it disappoint us, conclusively and absolutely not. I am truly amazed, at how this restaurant can deliver, at such an unbelievably high standard for so long. The food is delicious, and without fault, every plate was delicious and devoured. The service is sublime, I know that it has become such a popular and huge part of Cambridges eating culture, that it’s often hard to find a table. Persevere people, here and across the world, this is perfection.if it means it’s even harder for me to get a table, well so be it. Enjoy

Food was nice enough but we shouldn't have waited an hour for it. Some acknowledgment that the kitchen had messed up would have been appreciated (the table next door ordered the same dishes at the same time and received theirs 30 minutes before we did).

We had a wonderful dinner at Bedouin and would highly recommend this restaurant to those in Cambridge as great value alongside a fantastic atmosphere. Perfect for groups or date night! I learned Bedouin are a nomad Arabic tribe from which the restaurant draws its influence with a vibrant interior and tableware to boot setting the scene for a beautiful dinner. For starters we ate the Haniounette and Kemiette. The spicy hummus & tagine bread combination is second to none and this is by far the best North African starter menu I've seen. The Brik pastries are also sweet and savoury with such a unique and delicious flavour. For main we had Felous Masella and Betenjel Farci. The portions are beyond plentiful, hearty and are of great quality. I've scored the food as a 4 but think this could easily tip to a 5 with alternative menu choices. The chicken dish just wasn't my perfect taste for this sort of food and chicken cooked slightly over how I'd eat it (but much better than pink). I regretted not trying the meatball tagine and think that would transverse this review to a 5 across the board. Definitely perfect location, value for money and experience with beautiful array of teas and mocktails to accompany the meal. We will be back during our next visit to Cambridge.
