Super friendly and cosy cafe near the church in Holmfirth. The filter coffee is just the best and the deli counter is a real treat. Lovely place!

We had a lovely brunch during our short 2 night stay in Holmfirth. We both had a fry. Food was excellent and the staff were very attentive, returning to the table to top up my coffee unprompted. Cosy atmosphere. Good value.

What a beautiful place .we went in and unfortunately we had not booked a table ,but was found one within a couple of minutes. The atmosphere is brilliant and the staff very helpful and make the time to chat .the food is very varied and I can't remember the last time I saw ploughman's on a menu .my wife had the ploughman's and it is huge .I had a panini of which there is many to pick from . Little bit of heaven in a brilliant location

Food was fantastic. The hot sandwiches and sharing board were very tasty. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. We were a party of 7 so had to wait for a table but well worth it. Check out the cheese selection to take home

Found this little gem whilst on our Easter break in Holmfirth. Went for coffee couldn’t beat it lovely coffee and had soya milk. So decided on our last day in Holmfirth to have a breakfast. They had gluten free options. It was absolutely beautiful food and well worth the money. I had a bestie’s breakfast gluten free. Staff there are very polite and lovely. Nothing is to much trouble. Would highly recommend going for a coffee and food will definitely go again when in the area.

Most gorgeous carrot cake I’ve eaten, with a generous serving of pouring cream. Lovely cappuccino and friendly service.

I visit this cafe regularly with friends and it is 100% magnificent. Super good, even better staff and right in the heart of the wonderful town that is Holmfirth. Plus, there is a deli counter with fab cheeses, preserves etc. Recommended!

A very nice meal and brew cafe in the middle of Holmfirth. We enjoyed a Latte and a cake for a quick in between shop around the village. The staff were very friendly and we would definitely recommend them ,Next time we visit, we would have a meal there.

Hubby and I popped in Beattie’s for the first time today when we visited Holmfirth. We are so pleased we chose this lovely cafe for our late lunch, it was superb. We had the sharing platter, wow! It was huge and there were so many delicious home made things on it such as hummus, pickles, biscuits, pate. My hubby said the ham & pastrami were the tastiest he’s ever had. The staff were lovely, very smiley and helpful. All in all it’s an easy 5 star review & we can’t wait to return.

I had a Hot Roast Turkey sandwich and my wife Roast Ham sandwich. Both were great portions, and with two drinks came to £18.95. There is also a deli next door. Arrive early for lunch, and worth waiting for a table.

Great cafe with a good selection of food / snacks. Excellent coffee, very efficient and friendly team. Highly recommend the sharing boards as all products available from the deli counter, so it's try before you buy.

Took our friend from Cornwall, for lunch. 3 of us had home made pea and ham soup, with a pork pie in it. My wife had the vegetable and lentil soup. They were the tastiest soups we have had. Really pleasant staff. I would recommend Beatties.

One of our favourite eating places in Holmfirth. Opposite the bus terminal, just off the main road. There is a deli at the front and a cafe to the side and behind. This cafe is popular so visit early to get a seat. I had a hot roast turkey sandwich, with all the trimmings, only £5.95, my wife had a roast ham and mustard sandwich. Both were wonderful and very filling. However for something different you could have pea soup with a pork pie. We always call in here when visiting Holmfirth.

Here for a birthday lunch. The staff are really lovely here. They emerged with surprise cake with a candle and sang Happy Birthday. And wrote Happy Birthday with a drawing of a flower on Laura's take-away scone box. Forgot to leave a tip. Will rectify next visit! And they have a good range of deli stuff too. A most enjoyable lunch.

Beatties is a lovely cafe and we had an excellent experience; the food is 10/10 and the service is out of this world! We particularly like the filter coffee with a complimentary top up :-)

We visited here twice during our stay & it’s such a lovely place spotless clean lovely staff & food is delicious esp the pea & ham soup definitely worth a visit it won’t disappoint.

Having been shown to our table at 12.00 on the nail, we were expecting a quick lunch, The coffee arrived (not really to my taste as it was quite burnt on the roasting, but not Beatties responsibility, more on the roaster ...who I wouldn't favour...

What a fantastic find! Beautiful, cosy cafe/deli serving the most unusual combinations of fresh locally produced food. From paninis, sandwiches, baked spuds, soup, pork pies to die for and cheese boards just to name a few! Cakes were there too but we were too full...

I regularly visit Beatties by myself or with my family and I can say its one of the best places to eat or buy produce in Holmfirth. The staff are always friendly and the food and coffee are always top notch. The vaulted part in the back is charming and the selection of cheeses and meat are superb. Lovely place, highly recommended.

As stated in another review, this café is a 'little gem'. The staff are very accommodating and pleasant . Interested in the stonework inside one of the owners explained the cafés history to us. There is a friendly feel to the place and staff actually smile! whilst serving you. The food was of a high standard and we'll presented. My choice was a jacket potato with prawns accompanied by a small salad. Everything looked and tasted fresh and I was highly delighted to see a proliferation of prawns on my potato. King prawns! Really! Not the usual tiny ( is this a prawn or a shrimp??) species. We had a very pleasant experience and I can highly recommend a visit.Thank you for a memorable visit.

We had afternoon tea sat in the square enjoying scones with butter & jam. Good service, clean tables, & very reasonable prices. Thank you we will call again when in the town.

Had a lovely meal for 4. The food was tasty, fresh and plentiful. Great coffee and the waitresses were attentive and friendly. So much so, we returned the following day for lunch again . Just as good as our first visit. I would definitely recommend and will be returning…. Again.

Enjoyed a lovely prawn salad and coffee at Beatties today. First visit and was impressed by the friendly staff - Zoe couldn’t have been more helpful. An added bonus was the deli counter selling a wide range of cheeses, couldn’t resist buying some! Will definitely return.

We had a late weekday lunch at Beatties in July 2021. We sat outside in the square, along with a number of other customers. Service was slow and in the end I went in, to be told that they would come out and take our order, despite us having sat there for at least 10 minutes with no sign of any staff. The food was generally ok, the milkshake we had didn’t really taste of anything (should have been banana) however the sandwich and ploughmans were tasty. We subsequently ordered a scone each but unfortunately there were only plain scones available by that time. Due to the wait, we were given complimentary drinks, but this really shouldn’t have been necessary. Whilst there were a few tables taken outside, inside was virtually empty, so it was hard to know where all the staff were. The lady operating the till seemed flustered whilst a young lad bringing out the food seemed to lack the impetus to clear any tables or take orders until instructed to do so, meaning that several tables loaded with dirty dishes and cups were left for quite a long time, with several people walking away after seeing this, so a loss of custom there.Overall food was ok, but the service was distinctly lacklustre on what was a weekday afternoon with relatively normal level of demand.

Visited Wednesday the 30/06. Till receipt saying 2pm. Ordered two cappachinos which were horrible incidently. Ordered take out cups as no seating available outside. Hovering around took two seats outside the premises when they became available. We bought the coffee there we should be allowed to sit there right? Wrong!! Out came a man with short white hair. Blue jeans and black chefs top. Staring down at us he said nastily. If you order take out that's what we expect you to do. And waited staring at us till we moved. Flabbergasted. Still can't believe it.

Enjoyed hot chocolates and tea outside during a shopping trip. The children loved the hot chocolate with cream.

Had some great sandwiches from Beatties during lockdown and the cheese here is the best, particularly the Brie, mature and runny and it should be, can recommend for takeaway or eating in when allowed.

Went to this cafe today to grab a sandwich After queuing outside for ten minutes I was told rather abruptly that I could not order a sandwich because they were closing in 6 minutes and was just offered hot drinks. I felt quite annoyed about this and took my business elsewhere I can honestly say I will not visit this deli again.

Coffees were lovely thank you. Front of house service left a tad to be desired. A bit abrupt on arrival rather than welcoming. Disappointed to see the attitude of both the server and the owner when two elderly couples wanted to sit on adjacent tables so that they could at least be in the same room to enjoy their drinks. If it was my business I would be delighted to have customers wanting to enjoy my service, not tutting under my breath, shaking my head and rolling my eyes in front of other customers at the 'inconvenience' of having to wipe down the table again so they could move. I would be bending over backwards to ensure they enjoyed themselves and returned many times. I am sorry to say that if this is an example of their usual service I wouldn't be going back, as I would be uncomfortable knowing what they may be doing or saying about me.

Had a lovely ploughman’s lunch today on a very rainy Saturday afternoon in Holmfirth, a lovely cosy setting Beattis is a great Deli and cafe really welcoming staff and lovely and warm inside, so glad we visited today our lunch was perfect the tastiest ploughman’s ever also had hot chocolate tasted faboulous and scones with jam and cream were excellent too.All COVID safe measures in place.Thankyou

Gluten free menu is available. Came across this by chance as we was looking for a gluten free lunch. We enjoyed the tasty panini and hot choc. The staff were so pleasant. The store it self is really cosy and welcoming lots of food to look at! Chutneys and jams so tasty.

Asked a local where to have lunch, so pleased with the suggestion of trying Beatties.Ordered Jacket Potato with Tuna, and a pot of Earl Grey Tea. The tea arrived swiftly by the Jacket Potato + small salad to the side. The best Jacket I’ve had in a long time. I asked for more hot water and bake well tart, which was lovely. Staff were friendly and smiley asking if I liked my potato. Till is in the deli so had to buy some cheese before I left.

Set in the idyllic Holmfirth, this is a great cafe and deli. Try the ham and piccalilli sandwich, it's wonderful. Plus, the staff are always smiling and helpful.

This place has the best cheese by far, will order our cheese for Christmas from here, wouldn't go anywhere else for cheese. Always have a coffee in the cafe part when we go to buy cheese at the deli.

A welcome return after a few years. This is a lovely cafe with friendly staff and a calm atmosphere. A good choice for breakfast and lovely hot coffees. Very reasonable as well. Well done team.

Four of us popped in here for lunch. I have never been disappointed and I wasn't this time. I had a ploughman's lunch and you really had to be a ploughman to eat it! Plenty of salad, ham, pie, cheese and pickles. A lovely cup of tea to follow. It was good value for money and the service was very good. It is only a small cafe/deli so at busy times you may be unlucky but it is worth a visit.

This has always been my favourite cell and coffee shop in Holmfirth; we have actually drive here just to come to it. Something has changed ... today asked for well cooked bacon only to be told it is pre-cooked and will be fine - no it wasn’t and I could not eat it. Also jars of sauce for sale being 3 months out of date. Addressed my concerns to owner ... poor response. So now looking for a new venue to call home.

Popped in here after a seven mile walk, to find a good range of food and drinks.Delicious well presented panini's with a selection of three accompanying home made jams/chutney.Reasonably quick service from the helpful waitresses and served with a smile!There's also a good range of local produce to buy (including the ones we tried with our panini's).£18 for the two of us for two delicious flavoursome panini's, one latte and one perfect pear pressed juice.Well worth a visit!

Lovely tasty bagettes rammed fully with tasty fillings and accompanied with delicious jams (especially the sweet chilly and lemon grass chutney). Very quaint and relaxing environment. Highly recommended.

After visiting the Art Festival four of us went for lunch at Beatties. I and a friend had a Ploughmans' lunch. Ham, cheese, pie, lettuce, pickles, chutney and a lovely fresh crusty baton. There was more than I could eat - but I did my best! A cup of tea which was served in a little tea pot so I did get two cups out of it. The other two had Quiche served with salad and a ham salad. This little café/coffee shop is well worth a visit. Pleasant service and clean surroundings.

Lovely deli and coffee shop. Eat in the cozy tea room or outside. Sandwiches are well filled with the choice of granary, ciabatta and baguette. The home made soup, ham and pea went down well. Great drink choice. Gunpowder green tea was served in a lovely Japanese pot. Free refills are included. Service is friendly, helpful attentive. The deli sells a great range of cheese, home made pork pies with locally sourced hand raised pork, olives. The shop makes a great pit stop and avoid the rain if you want to catch the art festival this weekend.

The tea was fine but the pot for two people was only big enough for one small cup each - but when I asked they topped it up for me.

We decided to go in for a quick drink and snack. The place isn’t large, so can feel a little crowded. We had coffee and hot chocolate, and ginger loaf , the drinks were nice. The loaf was nice and moist , along with a small block of butter. The staff are nice and helpful, the cafe and deli are only small, so I’d try to avoid busy times .

A delightful cafe hidden away, staff were so friendly and welcoming even though it was near closing time. They kept checking on us if we needed anything more. Excellent cakes and lots of GF options for most cakes! A whole menu just for teas. And warm and cosy! They also had a full deli and other items like jams, sauces, biscuits to buy! A rare find!

Very good sandwiches again, we had takeaway sandwiches for 6 of us and all were very good also bought some as you can't leave the shop without attacking the cheese display, can highly recommend if you like good meat and cheese.

Called in for a couple of takeaway sandwiches and was also tempted by the cheese they had on sale. The sandwiches were excellent very fresh and the fillings were very good quality. The cheeses we bought were very good especially the brie, perfectly ripe.

Food is delicious, fresh and served in generous portions. The products used are high quality, providing wonderful flavours. Table service which is done with a smile. Staff are friendly an very helpful. Will definitely be back!

Called in during the Holmfirth Food and Drink festival for a sandwich and a coffee. The sandwiches here are excellent, the bread is always fresh and good quality and the fillings also top quality. I had ham and cheese and both the ham and the chesse were perfect, struggle to find anywhere as good for cheese, only place to buy cheese in Holmfirth, top quality.

Called in for coffee and cake both young ladies were friendly and helpful coffee and cake great nothing too much trouble and it was nearly closing time brilliant.

Good place to call for a coffee and a sandwich for both eat in and takeaway as being a deli the sandwich fillings are really good quality which is not the case in most of the Holmfirth cafes, the meats and cheeses in the sandwiches are delicious, best place for sandwiches.

Beatties was recommended to us as a good place for a coffee and we weren't disappointed. So get your picture taken outside Sid's cafe and then go into Beatties for your coffee, where the staff were friendly.

Visited with family at the weekend for coffee. Decided to eat too as there were signs all over the place detailing delicious sounding items as 'gluten-free' and my husband is Coeliac. He ordered the gluten-free lattice apple pie.

Wanted a coffee and a bite to eat. Not one for doing this in local village as it's always busy with tourists. But hey ho gave it a try. Never been in beatties as so close to sid's. Was very suprised as to how much seating area, and then the amount of food on offer. Ended up having a small blow out. Pie in pea and ham soup, A thick home made soup and hand made pie. Top marks. And for pud apple pie and custard a good slice of pie at that. Service was great and waited for nothing. The prices are good too for holmfirth. Nice to sit and chill while considering the up and coming house move. Will be back again ..Thank you.

We fancied lunch today while in Holmfirth so many places to choose from but thought we would try beatties ,so glad we did we had a mocha each best I’ve tasted my husband had the homemade pork pie and soup he said it was delicious,I had toasted tea cake and jam also very nice ...it was clean,cozy staff friendly , atmosphere good and service also good .will definitely be calling often .

We come to the folk festival every year. We have tried different places for lunch but have been coming to Beatties for several years. It is only a small place so this year we sat outside. My friend's son loves the Greek salad and always hopes it will be on the menu which it still is. I had the bacon and brie panini with chilli jam. It was very tasty. We were quickly served despite it being busy. Will no doubt be back next year.

Whenever I am in Holmfirth I awalways pop into Beatties to buy cheese, they have an excellent selection at good prices and all very good quality we have never been disappointed with the cheese we have bought here.

Very tasty lunch after a damp and disappointing walk around Holmfirth - this was the only bright spot. Never had pork pie in pea and ham soup before, but can definitely recommend. Small and quirky layout in the cafe, but a little on the cold side - only reason I have deducted one star.

Very cross to have visited specifically because the cafe advertises on Holmfirth Events as welcoming dogs, only to be told ‘no dogs’ on arrival 😡

We called in here yesterday while shopping in Holmfirth, what a surprise ! we bought lots of quirky food for our hampers and the cafe food was beautiful, very helpful owner and staff, a definite return here !

Great place for lunch good quality food made with good ingredients, we always love being able to buy excellent quality cheese at the same time as the cheese on their deli counter is the best around, can't buy cheese anywhere else after buying here. Sandwiches have excellent fillings and lovely bread.

We've not had this before: pea and ham soup with home made pork pie in it. Sounds strange but it was a very tasty filling lunch. Two of those, two slices of ginger brack (yummy) a filter coffee and a special tea. All for just over £15. Nice staff, friendly service. Just what we needed on a cold day. A really nice way to break a long journey home. Warm, cosy, comfortable.

Went today for lunch. Had the Ploughman's Lunch £5.95. A large plateful with Ham, pork pie, cheese, pickle, salad, pickled onions and baguette. Fresh and delicious. Americano coffee was just right. Being a bit greedy we had a dessert. Raspberry Almond Tart with ice cream and hubby had apple pie and custard! Full to bursting! Great service and we even bought some items from the Deli counter. Will definitely recommend and will visit again.

Beautiful gem of a place, such a shame about the unfriendly staff. There is only one option on the menu for kids (a toddlers plate) and they said they can't adjust any of the food on the menu for kids (e.g. A bacon sandwich without the Brie) as they would 'have to start doing that for everyone' and they say it's all 'pre-made' so they can't (or maybe aren't willing to?) adjust any food for their customers. If the staff were friendly then I could of ignored this but they didn't make us feel welcome at all. Maybe they are more friendly to adults without children but imo they could do with learning some customer service skills.

Having an impromptu visit to Holmfirth decided to have a spot of lunch. Lovely sheltered spot by the Church and Sid's Café from Last of the Summer WineNice to sit outside and just relax.Filled jacket potatoes were delicious and a really good cup of coffee.Recommended. You can just sit and watch the world go by.

Frank and his staff have a varied and tasty menu, with both indoor and outdoor seating. Beatties also offers a wide selection of gourmet items that may be purchased to go.

We went here for dinner yesterday with a brew the staff really friendly I'm guessing lot of locals go here as some of the customers seemed to know they staff really well. the food was excellent and priced reasonably we had a flavoured latte dinner each and a little pot if chilli jam for 20.30.

I have been 3 times now. The food has been great on all occasions and the atmosphere is lovely quaint deli and this is why i return. My major criticism is the track above the window has cobwebs that thick that it looks like its been decorated for halloween (seriously 30 seconds with a cloth and a stool its not hard) this will give so many customers a bad impression of your kitchen hygiene and put them off. The other major problem is a waitress in her 40's who sometimes is very friendly and welcoming and cant do enough to help and other times is quite snappy, weather you think my question is self explanatory or not is inconsequential, good customer service is often given through a fake smile and biting your tongue. That being said on a good day you can't fault the place and i would recommend it i would also like to leave a higher score in the future but things would need to be cleaned.

Excellent food. We all enjoyed our meal. Kids meal was very reasonably priced. The staff where lovely. I would highly recommend. Oh and the cheese is delicious!
