We have just come back from a weekend in Bath and stayed at The Bear Inn for two nights. We had a pleasant stay and Claire was so welcoming! She made sure our stay was perfect - which it was! All the staff were great and the breakfast was AMAZING! Thank you! Would highly recommend. Thank you again!!

Went for lunch here today as we were working round the corner, despite my colleague still wearing his builders trousers we were given a warm welcome Absolutely delicious lunch. Best steak sandwich I've ever eaten. My friends chicken club was apparently also extremely good. Lady with Glasses and brown hair is so lovely and attentive. Young guy is also very friendly. 5 out of 5

The Bear offers a great atmosphere for couples, families and friends. The staff are friendly and helpful and the food is excellent, especially the Sunday roast (vegan option is one of the best I’ve had in Bath). It shows loads of different sport, without the vibe of some other sporting pubs, and Ali is always happy to switch the TV to the rugby (even if it is to watch Bristol Bears!). We moved locally in the spring and this is a great local pub!

Great stay here. Rooms were cosy and comfortable for us. The team was attentive and friendly, well knowledgeable with everything. I highly recommend this place for a stay when visiting Bath!

Great location, and the rooms were nice and cosy! Breakfast in the morning was also delicious, which made it all and all a great stay! Highly recommend this place!

Our room was spacious, quiet and very clean. The pub is ideally located, a ten minute bus ride from the City Centre. The bus stops are outside of the pub and very frequent. The bar manager was exceptionally informative and helpful.

The Bear Inn is just minutes walk from the City of Bath. It's a beautiful place to meet up or enjoy a drink or two. Staff are friendly and helpful. We stayed there for couple of nights and were looked after. Rooms are amazing. Nice and clean with all extra supplies like water, (still & sparkling) body lotion, tea and coffee. The lovely lady at reception was great. Excellent customer service.

I was staying nearby for the night and needed somewhere for a meal and a drink. The menu was a bit unusual, and I had the Korean mushrooms, followed by the sea bass. Both dishes were very well cooked, and beautifully presented, beer choice was good for craft beers, although a bit limited for cask (well, it was a Tuesday evening so can forgive them). Staff very helpful and friendly, and very polite when dealing with a difficult customer (not me!).

This is a lovely place. Gorgeous inside and out. And spotless! We waited over an hour for our food, and part of my order was not correct. What we ordered was cooked perfectly. There was live music that evening, which was nice. It feels like a popular place for locals. We were visiting the area and decided to walk a mile uphill to try it. Lovely views, btw! The Eton Mess was so good!

Mediocre bar, mainly set up for food/students, overpriced and no parking.

Review of the restaurant. Chicken pate starter was mind-blowing, mains very great, desert (sticky toffee pudding or so) was out of this world! Great selection of drinks on tap and more! Had to wait too long for mains (i guess some messup with orders) - nevertheless, one of best meals we have had in England! Thank you!!!

We stayed here two nights and was not disappointed. A great place to stay and explore from, with routes into Bath a 10 minute walk away.

Loved the music on Thursday night, great atmosphere and friendly staff but would be a lot better if dogs weren’t allowed to walk all over the seats. Can this please be addressed for allergy and hygiene reasons? Otherwise would have been five stars. Thanks.

Fab food, lovely service and super atmosphere. This is a local pub that punches above its weight. Definitely recommend.

Food was wonderful. Could overhear staff talking, not work stuff and one member was so loud! They also spilled my wine when pouring it and didn’t wipe it up. Also has a lipstick stained glass on our table.

Pleasant enough pub in prime location on Bear Flat. Wide choice of "zoned" seating options and a reasonable but not extensive menu. Choice of ales, lagers, and cider on draught was a little limited, however.

Ordered food to takeaway ( to old people's home across the road). Could not have been more accomodating despite having no takeaway containers they wrapped everything in foil. Made one elderly frail lady very happy and her family v grateful

Took my wife for a birthday meal. Oh dear, my meal (chicken kiev) was totally inedible. Overcooked to the point there was no juices left. The starter, Korean based, oyster whatever was so spicy that too was inedible. The wine was overpriced, as were the meals and we actually felt sorry for the waiting staff when they asked if we enjoyed the food. Sorry, I would strongly advise giving this place a wide berth.

We are staying at Tyndall Boutique B&B and wanted something to eat, my partner had Rabbit Pie and I had Chicken Squewers, my chicken was lovely but my partners pie had a few bones, mash was a bit dry and lettuce hard, for the price we were really disappointed, was expecting something better, lovely place and nice atmosphere though. Staff friendly.

What a great find in Bath! The staff was so lovely and the room was very nice and cozy and very quiet for being above a pub. The bed was comfortable and the set up of the room was lovely. We enjoyed our stay so much! We will absolutely stay here next time we are in Bath!

The rooms were great. Great value, loved the interior and had lots of space. The service was decent. The inn manager was very friendly. Location was very close to the centre of Bath but involved 20mins of walking up a steep hill to get there. That does mean it is very close to the Bath lookout where you can see great panoramic views of the city

Lovely pub, decent rooms and tasty food. Plus free parking for hotel residents (gold dust in Bath). The rooms are well decorated and comfortable beds. Good choice for breakfast and good quality food. 15 minutes walk down the hill the train and bus station and city centre. Worth visiting Alexandra park close by for a lovely view of the city.

We came to bath for the weekend and was a 5 minute walk away from this pub. It was so lovely and we came here every night. Perfect for quiet drinks or a lovely dinner - The roast dinner was one of the best we’ve had- and the people were lovely. We will definitely return.

Popped in to Broad Street Townhouse to try their cocktails on Friday after watching some live music in the Pig and Fiddle. BSTH had a lovely relaxed atmosphere and the new tea and coffee themed cocktails were really good! Had a wonderful time catching up with an old friend and having a good natter. Will definitely return! Didn't stay in the rooms so couldn't review those.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was not what we expected and had a refund due to lack of gluten free options again this was no issue. Room was very basic but for one night's stay it was fine, bed was rock solid. I would stay again because of the location but would not rush back.
