Bought the family to the lovely Beanys cafe - I had the gutbuster breakfast it was awesome. Kids were well fed with a good choice - great value for money.

Around 20 FRR members descended on Beany's cafe last Saturday morning, and had a splendid breakfast, in a relaxed and friendly environment. Wendy and her team looked after our every breakfast need, and the prices were very reasonable. The numbers didn't seem to cause any problems, but I did pre book some of the breakfast orders, just to take the heat off a bit. All around, a lovely morning!

So disappointed. Haven’t been for a few years and was so looking forward to celebrating my 80 th, but it was not a patch on previous years experience. Our table was in the dull and bland extension area, no atmosphere though the view was good. The food was an overcooked, lthick slice of shoulder of lamb that looked as if it had come out of a tin, served with weird blobs of tasteless garnish, asparagus spears that had been decorated with what appeared be piped black and white chocolate , why? A side dish of food blender mash and overcooked cabbage. Cost a small fortune. Service was ok, but lacked the panache or style that we remembered.

Very good Carribean Restaurant with good food. This was a Friday afternoon visit. I chose the Ackee & Saltfish £23. The presentation was good, cooked just right and tasted very good. We chose a bottle of Verdejo £22 which complimented the meal well. The service was good and friendly.

When holidaying in Cornwall the bush pepper should be a top tier priority your list. There are many things to enjoy on the menu but in my opinion you must always try something new. For example their kangaro was such a unusual but delicious dish. It doesn't have that gamey beefy iron taste to it, so you really can season it however you like. The menu said it was Cajun but I felt it lacked that spicy element. The port and red wine reduction was lovely. And the sweet potato wedges really complimented the kangaroo. My wings were fall apart melt in your mouth. However, it said it was BBQ flavour I think it needed a bit more of a smokey depth to it. The sauce felt a little confused. But still delicious. The people who served us were a delight Jasmine and Sian. Two sweet & Stella servers who make all the correct check backs at the appointed time. They had great banter. They really did look after us. Check backs really mean alot to me as a customer and you can always tell if they are genuine. The portion sizes as you can see are spot on. Just an all round amazing time. The owner must be proud.

Absolutely fantastic food; I had the stone bass, which was superb and really well presented, with wonderfully soft scallops. My wife, who's veggie, found plenty to choose from when other restaurants are just offering the same handful of dishes that others offer. Great service too. Just a shame we're on holiday as it means we can't come back easily!
