A friendly bar tender, fairly good beer and wine and plenty of space. Pretty good pub for a beer.

I've been in a few times in the year, the pub could be lovely. It has an old theme to it, which is nice. However the staff appear rough for the establishment, lazy, supervisor in orange and staff swearing, lack of uniform, disinterested and not polite, this just makes it look like a rough local pub, which is a shame. The front door had a picture taped on with an individual stating  "barred for life... for being in the dog house". This doesn't give me the want and homely feel of a pub. As I walked in, staff had their feet up in the high chairs with inappropriate footware and didn't give the feel of professionalism. I do feel this place could be a decent pub, but it gives a feel of unwash.

Tried to go on Saturday, turned up and the doors wasn't open. I don't know if the hours on Google are wrong or if it was due to the football but no notice on the door to say why. Wasted drive out.

It's a pub staff are pints are cold what more could you want

Unfortunately does not serve food anymore, no fault of the pub that’s why I still put 5*

Feels like it's just not looked after at all. Seats in the dining area were old and dirty. Toilet lights were off and mirrors smashed, looked like something from a horror movie. Staff talked over me while I was trying to order, then the order arrived and it was wrong. The glasses we were given had lipstick all over the edges. Ate one piece of chicken and it was wet on one side and tasted like it had gone bad so I couldn't finish it, a few hours later I had really bad stomach ache. Don't understand why this place has such good reviews, I'm surprised it's still open. The only pro is the cheap menu but it's not really worth the stomach ache. (Edit): Thanks, I appreciate the reply. I'm sorry to hear you're all understaffed and overworked, especially over the holiday season. I hope the renovations go well in January.

Cracking food, great little local with the loving caring and army of Katie behind the bar.

Good place but was standing at the bar for a while without being acknowledged then a regular walked up and got served straight away

It was ok food could have been warmer and served a bit quicker the staff were great working under a lot of pressure

Came to visit my brother all the way from plymouth devon he wanted to take me and my partner for a meal he said it was good food arrived at 18.30 ordered our drinks and was told still doing food went to order for 5 of us then was told the chef had closed the kitchen we were not the only customers that wanted to order food this pub lost alot of custom could not beleive a pub would want to do that very disappointed would not choose your pub again you need to look into this especially when business are strugging to survive

Turn up just after 6.30 checked if they doing food Saturday night said yes 6.40 went to order to be told that the kitchen was closed asked why we have been slow so the chef closed up early we counted over 20 people also turned away will never eat there again Web page kitchen close at 7pm

Used to live in Bamber Bridge,the old Pear Tree was one of my favourite pubs, always busy! First time back in for 34 years very impressed how it's been refitted,the staff were very friendly, the food , although typical pub food was very good, thoroughly recommend the Beam & Brycg if you're in the area!

Not our cup of tea. Went with my husband and our 2 year old daughter for tea - pub was full of workmen using foul language, service at the bar was very slow as majority of workmen propping up bar leaving very little room for customers to order a drink. Food order was taken relatively quickly however waited nearly an hour for our food to be brought to table - unsure why it took so long when there weren't many others eating and it's all cooked from frozen!

Food was terrible. Spoke to members of staff about the situation and they was very rude about it. Wouldn’t recommend anyone to go here unless you want a mouth full from the young staff that work here. Disgusting behavior

Brilliant Food, Great Customer Service and Fair Prices. Family of 5 out for tea. Absolutely the best chicken burger I’ve had. The Mac and cheese topping was delicious and the waffle fries finished the meal off. Great food and customer service second to none and the price is very fair. Been a lot of other places and this is by far the top 3 A***

Excellent well priced food on offer. The quality of the food excels the price. Only set back no cask ales but if your regular clientèle don't drink casks then fair enough. so I had dark fruit cider instead

Very warm and welcoming. My daughter and I came for some lunch, the staff was great friendly. Food came the steak was cook perfectly, my club sandwich was really enjoyable. Very well priced, we will definitely be coming again and bringing the rest of the family.

10/10 I treated my Mum to her dinner today and we both had the Smothered Steak Grills! We were stuffed!! “Best bit of meat I’ve had in years” were the mothers words 🤣🤣

We actually hired the function room everything went very well the host of the pub was very acomadating thankyou. And rates are to good to miss.

Went in for a Sunday lunch .. I had 3 meats which was fresly cooked. Vegatables were fresh and cooked to perfection. And meat gravy topped the meal off. I have to say the menu and food together with the freshness of the product is 100% an inprovement . Well worth it. And I will recomend the place to anyone. Well done charlotte and dom

Beer tasted watered down and food ( fish and chips) x 2 not great. Fries just about cooked, fish greasy, all served on a fake newspaper which got soggy and stuck to your food. Very disappointed after the hype over the new menu

We as a family visited the beam and brycg today for our tea, we was so happy with the service we received, all the staff were helpful and polite, the cookie dough sharer is just delicious, very generous portions too, will definitely be back

Ordered a roast dinner to be collected, shocked at how much food we actually received! Could have fed the whole street! The food was amazing, and the desserts was unreal!

We have had a few burgers from the new menu and all I can say is they are great especially with the spicy sauce with onion rings added as an extra

4 of us for Sunday lunch, the meal was stone cold, potato's not nice and the meat a lot of it BUT you couldn't taste the difference between the pork and the Turkey, and the beef was so tough you couldn't cut it or chew it, we did complain...we wont be going there again...

Not a great experience the garden was mainly full of people who thought perhaps we were all there to watch their floor show.....the place needs a firmer hand or they will loose any decent clientele.

Sat in the garden yesterday with my wife, daughter and dog and the lady serving was so lovely to us. Really friendly and even brought out some water for the dog. Definitely be back.

Came here today with the family for morning breakfast. Absolutely brilliant! The pub was impeccably clean, social distancing maintained and felt very safe in these covid times. Food was really great, fresh food, presented well and great prices! Staff were really professional and courteous. Charlotte and Dom are a credit to how well it is run. Clearly they don't trust customers, maybe a sign of their regular clientele. Pay up front for drinks then again up front when food is ordered, even though it was all one meal! First & definitely last visit! 🤬 Follow up: Why explain the Covid rules?, they were never an issue, & I am well aware of them anyway. I was not rude to anyone, in fact you were the rude one, sarcastically "thanking" me at the table for my review before admitting you have many non-payers, then telling me I would not be welcome back!. Clearly you & the truth are strangers, to the point where it hurts. To say you are sorry is both laughable &, in view of your comments at the time, untrue!
