Lovely pub. Good food and friendly staff. Couldn’t recommend more

I ordered some food for me and my friends it came to our table very quickly,The food was out of this world would definitely recommend going here and the server Jessica she was very polite and had amazing manners,She came to our table with a great smile and had a laugh with us then proceeded to continue taking our orders Great place and service!

Not sure when they last cleaned this plate, but it was rusty, and tasted like it. Way too much charred remains to be just my food. Absolutely disgusting.

Not impressed this time. Lack of staff, got the order wrong so one of our party of 7 had to eat more or less after everyone else had finished. One of my chicken pieces was nice but the other so tough I could hardly cut it, let alone chew it.

great atmosphere. perfect for families as it has the wacky warehouse, the food was amazing especially for the price. ordered at the bar and served by ebony. she was extremely helpful with recommendations and great service. Would definitely recommend and will be back!

I had the curry which was amazing. Portion size was good. The staff are always on hand to ask them anything. Supervisor Abi sorted out any queries that we had.

Come hear a couple of times a week. never have any issues. friendly staff, good food and plenty of tvs for watching the footie. it’s just a shame it’s not nearer my house 🤣

Friendly atmosphere! We joined for quiz night on Wednesday which was great fun! Special shoutout to Liam, one of the managers, who specially accommodated us and was so polite and welcoming!

Great place. Friendly team and delicious food. Definitely a great place to take the kids. Mine love it! There is colouring sheets to keep them occupied at the table and also a wacky to burn off some energy. Visit at least 2/3 times a month never had a bad experience

October 28, 2024 I had the pleasure of dining at poachers tonight, and I must say, it was a delightful experience from start to finish. my friend had Mushroom & Ale Pie, which was a comforting and hearty dish bursting with flavor. The rich ale-infused gravy paired perfectly with the tender mushrooms, and the flaky pastry was a wonderful topping that held it all together. For my main, I tried the Classic Chicken New Yorker. This dish featured a succulent roast chicken breast generously topped with smoked streaky bacon, melted cheese, and a drizzle of Texan BBQ sauce. Each bite was a perfect balance of smoky, savory, and slightly sweet, making it one of the best chicken dishes I've ever had. The staff were attentive and professional, providing excellent service throughout the evening. The management should be proud of their team for creating a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere. Overall, poachers offers a fantastic dining experience with a menu that delivers both comfort and quality. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to indulge in hearty, delicious food. I look forward to returning to try more of their enticing offerings!

I went this evening and young, tall lad with brunette hair was so polite and helpful. He couldn’t have done anymore. We will be returning as his service was second to none

It's a generic Green King (aka Hungry Horse) pub, but the service was friendly if a little slow. The food was as expected, not particularly glamourously presented but we mostly ate it all. We just used it as a convenient stop on our journey, and for that it was more than adequate.

Only had coffee today but great service, particularly when one of our coffees got knocked over the staff came quickly to clean up and replace the coffee

Nuggets swimming in sauce. Beef rubbery. Drinks are pure water with no taste. Tables dirty and sticky. Wasted £50. I do not recommend

Went to the poachers with a pal, and the service was outstanding especially from Ashleigh. She had an answer to all our questions and was very friendly. Overall, would definitely recommend going, we will be returning also

Great food, friendly staff, and a good play area for kids. Atmosphere definitely depends on who is around patronwise. I've almost always had a good experience there, but the one time there was an issue, the staff were quick to take care of it, and made sure everything was ok. Great for kids birthday parties too. Play downstairs, go upstairs to eat, and then back down for more play. Various dietary requirements adversed and adhered to. I've been there on staff training days and, while there were several issues with the food, they seemed to have extra staff dealing with all issues as quickly as possible. Definitely one of the best managed places of the Greene King brands chains. They genuinely listen to all customers and do what they can to make things right when there is an issue. Definitely recommend if you're in the area. It's our favourite kids play area / restaurant. They have a big parking lot, and I've never had an issue finding parking - but it always seems pretty full.

Cosy and welcoming, the poachers boasts great value, delicious food and high quality drinks. The staff are friendly and provide excellent service and the bar manager is devastatingly attractive

Quite literally the worst food I have ever been served. I have a dairy allergy of which I informed the staff when I ordered. I was served dairy butter with my breakfast. My entire plate was swimming in water, the toast was solid the sausages where inedible as was the 'scrambled egg' and I have no idea what kind of bacon they serve but honestly was not fit for consumption. In short we will not be rushing back.

Great pub, go in every week to a relaxed atmosphere, friendly and helpful staff and good food at reasonable prices. What more can you ask?

Went on a Friday stopped in on way home. Service was good. However, food was poor quality I had the slider burgers, which was just warm, not hot and very bland and tasteless. Missus had a baguette and chips which she said was dry and only warm. Would not return here.

Although we’d booked there was plenty of room. Plenty of seating options. Found a table and bought drinks ( plenty of choice) , and ordered food. Starter came and really disappointed! Cheesy garlic breads, 2 tiny pieces ! However the mains of jerk chicken and chicken dish were good and tasty. Staff checked on our main food and although we mentioned the poor starter offering ( others did as well) the waitress said she’d report it, we weren’t too disappointed not to think about returning.

Was heading home from a long trip came of the motorway and was feeling hungry stopped off at the poachers for some food the staff was very welcoming the food was great and also very good for value and even had a wacky warehouse for the kids to run around and kept them entertained while we waited for our food the staff in the wacky was just as accommodating as the servers and interacted with the kids the entire time made our trip home wonderful thank you the poachers

Gobsmacked. I have never had to get my own cutlery in a GK. When we were asked if we needed anything else, we asked for cutlery we were told to get our own front the stand. Poor. Will sick to those near home.

came for a meal with my family and i have to say the service was excellent. we ordered off the breakfast menu which is from 9-12 and it was amazing. i couldn’t fault the place

Don't usually leave reviews but iv got to for having the worst roast dinner on Sunday I have ever had, how you can get so many items wrong in one plate, mash was dry like clay, beef was cut so thin It looked like it was sandwich meat, Yorkshire and roast potatoes were soggy and veg was wildly undercooked, hard and bland, the whole thing was obviously thrown on a plate and wacked in the microwave, why else would the plate come out 200degrees, atleast put a tiny amount of effort in please, only thing that made it edible was the gravy which was actually nice, gf had katsu chicken which ended up being just chicken nuggets with a tiny tub of katsu sauce on the side, will avoid this place from now on

I took my 2 children in to the wacky area and was met by a friendly young lady. The kids went off to play and was happy. Harley who was working was so friendly, interacted with the kids and kept the place clean and tidy. She even took the time to have a little chat with us and make sure we were all ok and that we didn’t need anything. The kids helped her tidy up at the end tidying all the toys away and she was so greatful. Very cheerful and we will definitely be back. Thank you!

I usually come on my own for breakfast and always good service ,good food .so for my grown up sons birthday last week booked for four of us .the table was sticky we had to wipe it ourselves ,my grandson had a meal that had gravy on the side to dip ,it was dropped down so hard the gravy went all over his plate ,he wouldn't let me say anything as he is 13 and was embarrassed. After my son ate his meal the table was very wet where the skillet had been ,I asked a young man to wipe it ,he squirted, from standing up ,onto the table a liquid that went in sons beer,grandson cheesecake when we questioned it he laughed and walked away. There was a few other things like the short skirts that the waitresses were wearing ,not a good luck when wiping tables ! So 75 pound down and no-one had fun ,sorry was disappointed

As a lorry driver i often stop locally overnight, get a decent plate of food, a couple of cold beers and then hit the pillow. Piri piri chicken wings and the Korean chicken burger are my current go to plates....the sauce is hot enough on the wings but not silly....the burger is tasty...... One major gripe.....food arrives without cutlery or a tissue/serviette. Get up, walk through the restaurant and get your own...wow! Seriously, how poor is this? Even Wetherspoons provide cutlery wrapped in a serviette..... I know we are not talking Michelin star here but the basics are not hard to achieve.

Came for tea with my friends and I really enjoyed it! I had fish and chips and it was really tasty, all the food was and so reasonably priced! Was served by Emma, super friendly and helpful. 5 stars from us!

Quick service and friendly staff however the food was very average. We were stopping in the hotel next door and couldn't be bothered to go anywhere else as we arrived late evening after working in preston. Was just convenient.

Brilliant service always at the Poachers, never fails to disappoint!! Special mentions to Lydia on Bar and Jake on the restaurant for top notch service, quick, efficient and delicious food to finish the night off, definitely recommend to anyone looking for a quick bite to eat or a night with friends and family 😌

Food ok small play area for the kids

We stopped for lunch at 2.30pm on Saturday but no sandwiches or toasties on the menu, so we did not order anything, place looked dirty and tired we will not be returning.

Great food with low prices,amazing deals every day for food and drinks. I am pregnant and had a jug of cocktail just for £6! Staff very kind and helpful ☺️ My little one had a frozen yogurt for just 1.79.
