Poachers in South Ribble

Attended last night to celebrate my mother's 81st birthday. We were a party of 4. The atmosphere was warm and inviting. We were made to feel welcome by a lovely man named Paul. He made sure we were happy with everything. We had an assortment of starters(great tasting food). We were then given time to digest before being asked if we would like our main course. We all had different main courses which again were piping hot and great tasting!! All in all a lovely evening! Thanks Mrs B Metcalf

Ordered 3 burgers, all were presented nicely, very hot and full of flavour. Jake looked after us well and gave us a warm welcoming when we entered. Will definitely be back

I have always had good service and good food here. I bring my children often to visit the Wacky Warehouse and Harley always makes sure we have a great time! From interacting with my children to making sure we have a good experience every time! Harley is an absolute credit to the team here. :)

Well, I’m not one to do reviews but I’m so impressed with this pub! Definitely a hidden gem and surprised it wasn’t busier! we broke down on the motorway last week and this was the closest place we could find. We nipped into the wacky warehouse which was on the back of the pub, met with a huge smile from harley, who from the get go offered us warm drinks and sorted the kids out with activities to do, she made us feel so welcome we’d forgotten we had even broken down and we was here for that reason. Every credit to this young girl! Brilliant service!

Stopped at the poachers for a quick drink and bite to eat before an appointment. Warm and inviting, the staff were lovely and the food exceeded expectations. Will be here again- thanks Sasha!

We stayed at Premier Inn opposite so thought this would be agreat place to get a Sunday roast. We were delighted to see there was a deal, sunday roast and drink £10! We were pleasantly surprised by the quality and quantity of the roast, we ordered extra cauliflower cheese and pigs in blankets but really didn't need to. We decided to pop back the following morning for breakfast as the selection was far superior to the premier inn cooked offering. All staff were friendly, special big up to Paul who couldn't do enough for us.

The Poachers is a good value, budget smart, family friendly pub, with tasty pub food. The staff have always been very understanding and supportive of our needs as a family with disabilities, and I can't rate them highly enough! Jake, Harley, Ellie, Lucy, Abi, Lauren, Paul, Ethan, Liam and the rest of the Team always look after us when we visit! Thank you xxx

We go here every Monday with a man I care for before his evening disco. The food is always excellent quality, staff can’t do enough for us and the pub itself is always clean with a great atmosphere. I recommend The Poachers to my friends as it has wacky warehouse attached so ideal for parents wanting to tire the kids out and a nice tea! Food prices are reasonable too and often there are offers on! Well worth a visit!

Lovely atmosphere this Monday afternoon after a day of shopping we decided to get a bite to eat from the poachers on arrival we were created with walm welcome and a vibrant atmosphere, we was serverd by liam nothing was to much trouble food was outstanding and very quick

Large portions, maybe too large? It’s basic food but alright for a quick meal. Nice big open pub though.

Came in for breakfast this morning and went with the Super Special, everything was wonderfully cooked and the service was quick, excellent refillable coffee

My food was so dry hard funny taste. Husband ate his . One granddaughter ate hers the other left hers because of odd taste.greatgrandson ate his chips . daughter ate hers because she was hungry.

Never been before but I am rather fond of a hungry horse, I booked a table for 8 on New Year's Day, nothing was too much trouble, staff were pleasant and very polite, food was hot and very tasty, my son in law absolutely loved the steak and ale pie! Wasn't too busy and had a relaxed atmosphere

I was actually here to provide entertainment and everyone was fantastic, lots of dancing all night long. It was a full house, all food was served efficiently and was delicious. Great selection of drinks and lovely staff, especially Paul the waiter.

We visited as a group of 23 people, and we're expecting it to be hard work, however ordering was easy, and surprisingly all our meals arrived at the same time. Our food was hot and delicious.. Credit given where it's due!

Went here last minute to the wacky warehouse, didn't even have a clue it existed. Great soft play area not too big and not too small, you can keep an eye on your little one from where your sat. Lauren who served us was lovely, very good customer service. Food was okay

Me and the mrs brought our baby here the other week into the wacky warehouse & one of the staff members called Harley was very kind and friendly, especially with our little boy which made it a comfortable place for him to explore especially being so little. Harley was keen to help & make our visit enjoyable

We go to the poachers all the time, every credit to harley and the staff in wacky there amazing.The food is always perfect and the staff are super efficient. The atmosphere is lovely, me and my family find it great for our childrens party’s too. I’d Highly reccomend for a nice easy place for your family’s to eat good food and let the children run wild in wacky.

I came here on Tuesday morning with my baby & took him into the wacky warehouse. HARLEY one of the staff members went above and beyond to make our experience the best it could be, constantly clearing our table of drinks & asking if we needed more aswell as being so kind & friendly engaging in play with my baby which made us feel comfortable in him playing here! She was a cheerful & happy personality who made it a lovely atmosphere to be in :)

I come to poachers every Tuesday for my little lad to play in wacky warehouse the staff are amazing down there especially Harley she is so good with the kids very polite and always has a smile on her face

Family Christmas get together. 14 of us were given a great seating area, allowing us to chat and enjoy Christmas games.

We came for the breakfast with Santa. We all really enjoyed it. The food was delicious and the staff all really helpful. Santa came and sat with the kids and had a good chat with them and didn't seem like he was trying to rush off. The kids then got to have a play in the wacky warehouse and got a present off Santa. It was a brilliant morning and definitely worth the price.

Absolutely Fabulous Management and Saff . These people will fall over themselves to make anyone feel welcome 😁👍 The food and drinks have always been spot on . Throw in Sky TV and some happy background music it keeps a great atmosphere going . Always 😁👍

Ate at the poachers this evening with a group of friends and had a couple sociable drinks, the vibe and atmosphere was so lovely! Staff were super quick and attentive and the food was absolutely Devine, would highly recommend

We have used the poachers for about 7 years now. About 2 years ago we did stop visiting for a while as it did become hit and miss with food however, over the last 14 or so months the food has massively improved. We usually eat steak and always served bang on. All food hot and reasonable waiting times. The pub itself is cosy and family friendly, always showing sports on tv. Cheap prize machines for children and the wacky warehouse/outside play area. The staff have always been friendly here, never experienced anyone rude or that didn’t want to help. I must also mention a staff member Liam, he always has time to have a quick chat with my child, one reason he loves going is to see Liam! We visit about once a month & as our local kid friendly pub we will always recommend.

Had a fantastic time with my grandaughter here, the play co-ordinator Harley was amazing with the children and my grandaughter cannot wait to go again. I'm going to take my grandaughter and nephew over the Christmas holidays. Thank you Harley 😀

Second visit and specifically came back for the fish and chips! Absolutely amazing, especially for the price. Great service as well. We like it so much we intend to return for one of the tribute nights.

Popped in for breakfast. Was spot on, a super breakfast and hot chocolate for under £10.

Bring my girls here all the time to wacky warehouse the staff are very friendly and welcoming, lauren was brilliant with my girls very helpful full. The food in the restaurant was very good value for money to. A gentleman called Alex served us and couldn't do enough to help. Would highly recommend for wacky warehouse or the restaurant.

I went to here after a really rubbish day for a couple of drinks, I received excellent service throughout, a special mention to Sasha for her service, really nice and friendly

I visit regularly for work, it's in a handy location and the staff always go above and beyond either downstairs in the onsite Wacky Warehouse or Upstairs in the Restaurant. I would recommend to anyone visiting alone, for a night out or with the family in the day time.

It’s great value here some of the food is very good some is just poor! But you get what you pay for! They have a small ish car park but you usually can get a parking space. The staff are very nice and helpful.

Went to the wacky part of the poachers with my neice and nephew, we have been a couple of times and they asked to go again. When we got there we were greated with a smile, as usual, it has such a welcoming atmosphere, Harley set up a brilliant tot club’ and was efficient with our orders, wants and wishes. Will come back

Food was average, at least 2 of the desserts came with no strawberries which shouldn't be served. Bit like bringing you out chips and burger and saying sorry you've just got the bread and sauce cause we've not no burgers left. The manager happily refunded though so that's good.

Generic pub usually busy cheap and cheerful food

While staying at purple roomz had lunch here .We both had the gravy burger and it was delicious.Bonus was it was buy one get one free.Fantastic deal 😀

Went today at 10.45am for the Mega breakfast and it was fantastic!! Piping hot and absolutely delicious 😋 it's filled myself and my husband right up.

I visit every week for the quiz, and Maggie is always the one who serves us. She consistently recommends new gins for my boyfriend and me to try, knows exactly how much lemonade I like, and is always friendly and engaging. Even during the busy times, she still manages to make us feel welcome and takes the time to chat, which I really appreciate.

Not impressed this time. Lack of staff, got the order wrong so one of our party of 7 had to eat more or less after everyone else had finished. One of my chicken pieces was nice but the other so tough I could hardly cut it, let alone chew it.

Not sure when they last cleaned this plate, but it was rusty, and tasted like it. Way too much charred remains to be just my food. Absolutely disgusting.

Friendly atmosphere! We joined for quiz night on Wednesday which was great fun! Special shoutout to Liam, one of the managers, who specially accommodated us and was so polite and welcoming!

Great place. Friendly team and delicious food. Definitely a great place to take the kids. Mine love it! There is colouring sheets to keep them occupied at the table and also a wacky to burn off some energy. Visit at least 2/3 times a month never had a bad experience

October 28, 2024 I had the pleasure of dining at poachers tonight, and I must say, it was a delightful experience from start to finish. my friend had Mushroom & Ale Pie, which was a comforting and hearty dish bursting with flavor. The rich ale-infused gravy paired perfectly with the tender mushrooms, and the flaky pastry was a wonderful topping that held it all together. For my main, I tried the Classic Chicken New Yorker. This dish featured a succulent roast chicken breast generously topped with smoked streaky bacon, melted cheese, and a drizzle of Texan BBQ sauce. Each bite was a perfect balance of smoky, savory, and slightly sweet, making it one of the best chicken dishes I've ever had. The staff were attentive and professional, providing excellent service throughout the evening. The management should be proud of their team for creating a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere. Overall, poachers offers a fantastic dining experience with a menu that delivers both comfort and quality. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to indulge in hearty, delicious food. It's a generic Green King (aka Hungry Horse) pub, but the service was friendly if a little slow. The food was as expected, not particularly glamourously presented but we mostly ate it all. We just used it as a convenient stop on our journey, and for that it was more than adequate.

Only had coffee today but great service, particularly when one of our coffees got knocked over the staff came quickly to clean up and replace the coffee
