Absolutely lovely ice cream. We tried various flavours in our time in Southwold. Plus - gluten free cones and vegan (soya free) ice cream in a selection of flavours. Perfect for my 8yr old with allergies who was in heaven!

The ice cream is great but the service isn’t. Going with 3 children they were all given adult size ice creams that were huge! My children are under 5 years old so that was £12 for 3 ice creams, I asked if they were kids size and she said no! Clearly if you have small children then you will want a child’s ice cream! Opportunists at its finest. Won’t be returning. Shameful

Lovely staff and great selection. Bit pricey on some of the items, but when on holiday who cares and the local have to make their money in a short space of time.

Wide selection of ice cream and they don't skimp on the scoop sizes! Very tasty and will definitely be going back again to try more flavours. Staff also very pleasant!

From the ice cream to the sweets this is the perfect stop. Staff are friendly. The shop is well organised and the layout maximises the products they can offer which is fantastic. There’s something for everyone in this shop. With some real quirky sweets for adults and children alike.

This shop is fantastic for ice cream, jelly beans and american/Japanese candy and drinks. I would reccomend going to the bigger store they have in Lowestoft. The staff are always so lovely and the young girl that works in the lowestoft is such a sweetie pie ;) Why aren't on your way already?

Delicious ice cream, and sorbet for the dairy-free, and a wide selection of unusual sweets. BIG plus is the fact that they are open late in the evening, so children can have their sweets, and everyone can have an evening ice-cream.

We stop in here after an evening meal at Coasters next door when there is no room for a dessert...but there's always room for their ice cream. Flavours change from time to time, lemon meringue flavour was outstanding.

A good place to have an ice cream. Along with Harris and Scott and Susie's on the beach they all have delicious flavours to choose from and good quality ice creams.

Best ice cream in town. 2.50 for a large amount in your waffle cone. Lots to sample with interesting flavours. crunchie, rum and raisin, lotus biscoff, and coconut were our favourites. Lovely family running the place and service with big smiles every time we went in. The kids really liked the fun selection of unusual American cans of pop (blue Fanta, obscure Pepsi and Dr Pepper flavours!) and I liked the jelly belly selection and all the sweets and chocolates you don't usually find. Some quirky souvenir stuff and pocket money items for kids too

We always visit Beaches and Cream during the summer in both Southwold and Lowestoft and always enjoy and delicious ice cream.Slightly costly but they do give a decent size scoop of ice cream. £8.50 for three ice creams.Always recommend and will be back again in a month or soMany thanks

Whenever we visit Southwold, an ice cream from Beaches and Cream is a must. Huge range to choose from, I recommend rum and raisin, plenty of other treats for those not lovers of ice cream. Friendly and helpful staff.

on our last visit to Southwold, I made sure to have one of their ice creams every day ! and the kids love the imported sweets !

Do not miss the chance to visit especially if you like ice cream. Everyone is great, helpful and nothing is too much trouble. The rum and raisin equivalent is astounding.

We visit beaches and cream every time we come to Southwold and it never fails us!! An amazing range of sweets, drinks, ice creams and souvenirs!! Staff are so friendly and couldn't do more to help! They've definitely got everything going for them!! A must visit when in Southwold!!

I had been recommended by a friend to go and visit this sweet shop. As I walked in I thought that the shop was absolutely brilliant! There is a wide selection of sweets and the ice cream is amazing. But unfortunately the service was absolutely terrible, the woman behind the counter was rude and managed to ruin my day to Southwold which was really horrible as it was my birthday! The ice cream I had just brought was binned as I left the shop and I will not be returning or recommending this shop to any of my friends.

Great little shop, serve drinks and ice cream, although on this occasion we were shopping for a gift and the obligatory souvenir magnet.

We always visit when we come to Southwold - where else can you go to a sweet shop that opens until 10pm? The choice of global sweets is amazing and the costs reflect the import costs. The ice creams are amazing too especially as a evening treat. Our boys especially love the pez machines & now have a darth Vader pez holder. Will visit again next year.

Okay this candy and ice cream store is one of the high points, candy is dandy Ice cream is a treat. Yup.

Every little treat you could think of, lovely pick and mix, ice creams, chocolate and everything else. We have spent a fortune in this shop since it opened, can't resist. Don't send your kids in on their own with money as you won't get any change. Ice creams very prices, would go else where for them. £7.00 for 2 cones with 2 scoops, not impressed with that.

Had to visit again after discovering this place last summer. The ice cream isn't cheap but is absolutely delicious. So many favourite flavours and lots of new combinations too!

This is a wonderful little sweet shop and ice cream parlour. The ice creams in particular are definitely worth coming in for - but you may need more than one visit just to try the full range of fantastic flavours!

We stopped here for an ice cream on a warm windy day in Southwold on tripadvisor recommendations. The scoops are generously sized, they have cups and cones and enough choice of flavours, about 12. The ice cream was 'Kelly's' and was very good.

Great to purchase American treats you can't always get elsewhere, I love Reece's products so know where to go especially as they have now also opened one in lowestoft

Went on recommendation and was not disappointed with the rum and raisin ice cream, could be more choice of flavours.

Now I may be a little biased towards loving this sweet shop but there is a very good reason. Not only are the staff wonderful and helpful, they stock sweets and drinks from New Zealand. Th have even offered to procure some of my favourite Chocolat bars. Now how many shops would be that personalised?! Am following their Facebook page now to keep up to dat with what they have in stock.

This could easily be missed but is definitely the place to visit, it is often business but worth the wait, they have a well priced and variety of American candy / drinks to enjoy! This is the most reasonable priced shop I've found off base! The drinks are always cold and refreshing ideal on a hot day! The icecream is absolutely delicious, there is a huge selection and really there is something for everyone to enjoy. On offer also they have hot drinks to take away which are fantastic, I love the feel of the shop, the sweets, the coffee and the icecream a firm favourite place to stop amongst our family, the staff are friendly and genuinely seem happy to be where they are, which I can't blame as southwold is somewhat idyllic!

My son loves this shop, and we always end up spending a small fortune when we visit Southwold.A great selection of imported sweets from the States.Not cheap, but cheaper than a flight to the USA to visit the sweet shop.If you've got a sweat tooth, then worth a visit.

I have visited beaches and cream several times and everytime i am suprised at their selection, i was visiting this time to get some stocking fillers but ended up buying a couple of their hampers. They are wonderfully presented and good value for what you get! They will happily make one up for you as well. They also had xmas flavoured ice creams so couldn't resist as its never to cold for an ice cream! Keep up the good work guys and see you soon!

The verdict on the ice creams was varied but no one out right loved it. Choice of imported sweets, if that's what you want, it's great fun but expensive, but this is Southwold!

This store has got better and better, the selection of imported goodies is phenomenal including Australian and New Zealand. The ice cream selection is outstanding, I particularly love the locally made Salted Caramel. If you want to try something special then you can't go far wrong in this super little shop.

It took us a while to find this shop, & finally realised we'd walked past it twice without realising..... The window display, buckets & spades & A-frame about dog treats are mis-leading .... But see past them to the ice cream counter at the back of the shop & you'll know you've come to the right place. Definitely the best ice cream in Southwold, very yummy & nice cones. Could maybe add afew more flavours though.

Ice Cream to die for... So many choices that you have to visit more than once. A firm family favourite!

This little shop offers a great selection of American and imported confectionary, along with the more traditional sweets.We were very impressed by the lovely lady behind the counter who seemed genuinely interested in how we had enjoyed our holiday and where we lived.I am guessing that the shop is open throughout the year because she told us of how she had to go home in the snow one day in the winter! That's good if they can open out of season, long may they continue, Southwold needs little 'special' shops like this and not the gradual influx of faceless national chains!

When we visited the afternoon had turned out hot and this shop was buzzing. The queue disappeared very quickly as the staff were extremely efficient and pleasant. I have never seen such a large range of ice cream flavours. Truly delicious. Would revisit if we are in the area again.

Whilst not the cheapest of ice cream, the flavour variety was good and the children soon demolished them! Vanilla was very tasty and delicately flavoured.

There is a massive variety of sweets, chocolates, drinks and ice creams in the shop. All the staff there have all been so kinda and helpful. It is slightly expensive. Pop tarts there where £1.99 then in the tesco down the road pop tarts are only £1! But still would defiantly be visiting the shop again and again!!

As you walk into the shop it's like a child's dream, sweets, chocolate, ice cream and other goodies, some from the states all the American candy bars and sweeties, drinks such as kool aid, and cakes too the shop is quite expensive but it's nice and staff are eager to serve you with a smile.You could spend a lot of time and money in this shop as the selection is huge.

I had the chocolate and coconut ice cream and it was gorgeous. The ice cream was delicious and the customer service was amazing!

In a world where every high street is dominated by the bland and identikit, it is refreshing to find a shop doing something so different. Every time we have been the staff have been really helpful and friendly, and the ice cream is great. My only problem is that even though I know the sweets have flown thousands of miles to be here, and you'd have to go a long way to find something similar it's still an expensive place to go into with two children. They don't look at the price tag, they look at how many sweets they have got. It's probably fair value for money, but that's almost beside the point.

Lots of choice of imported sweets along with a few handmade gifts and some ice cream. Quaint little shop that is definitely worth a look. Reasonable prices for imported sweets (they are never cheap!)

Fun little shop full of retro Amercan candies and treats and yummy ice cream. Also has a huge selection of Jelly Belly jelly beans, the best we have seen so far in the UK. Your kids will love this place.

My wife and I visited this sweet shop, and the staff were very friendly and they had a very good variety of confectionary, worth a visit if you have a sweet tooth or you have children.

We were in search of this sugar emporium based on reviews I had read on here. The shop is amazing - floor to ceiling sweets and chocolates and most are exotic imports - with understandably high prices to match. However the whole reason of visiting this shop was to taste the ice cream. We plumped for a twin scoop of lemon curd - matched with a scoop of strawberry and a scoop of chocolate. The lemon curd ice cream was - we were told by the effusive server - locally made. It was the star of the show and tasted smooth and totally balanced between creamy, sweet and sharp. The service was very pleasant with smiles and courtesy. We had the chance to pull up a stool at one of only two tables, but the atmosphere of calm didn't last long when a flood of whining children and their indulgent parents crammed into the shop. My only criticism is that the premium quality of the product could be matched by the quality of the plastic spoon - a proper spoon would be great instead of the tiny 'spade' offered... I suggest you take your own.

Fab sweet/ice cream shop. Superb selection of UK and international sweets and biscuits. Quite pricey but hey - you're on holiday!

An amazing selection of sweets, treats & drinks from around the world. The staff are always friendly and helpful. The ice cream is the best I've tasted and my son demands a bubble gum ice cream every time we visit. If you're looking for unusual or good quality treats Beaches & Cream is the place to go.

This is what local retailers can do and which the superstores, great chains etc cannot. The shop sells sweets and ice cream and lots of quirky items mostly associated with pleasurable eating. The place is a delight and kids (and big kids of the adult variety) cannot leave here without feeling good because everything is so well presented, the staff are friendly and encouraging and if you ask them the ultimate flavour in ice cream they will tell you mango - you will be in cloud heaven. Take loads of money it's not cheap!

This is a sweet shop with a difference - sweets from all over the world. so many & so varied - what a choice! The owner is a charming young man who also happens to own Coasters the Bistro next door.

Love this shop! Not only does it serve the best ice cream and slushies but the range of sweets, drinks and chocolates is amazing. It's great to find somewhere in this part of the U.K. that sells such a massive range of sweets from around the world! Hershey, Jolly Ranchers, Twinkies ..... Too many to name! But if you are in Suffolk then seek them out! Having three daughters (one of whom is a teen) this shop is a godsend!!! Couldn't believe our luck when we stumbled upon it on a wonder around Southwold. Service has always been friendly and fantastic too ..... Even when staff are snowed under with customers!

Lovely collection of ornamental beach hut money boxes. Plenty of American sweets - my daughter spent quite a lot! Ice creams good, although weather was too cold to try many!

We often come here, and every time have been greeted by lovley staff, who are friendly and approachable but also knowledgable. They also sell American sweets which are very expensive but nice to look at. I'm looking foreward to my next visit

When we go to southwold, we go in for mango icecream twice a day and coffee for mummy, plus we love the American candy which reminds us of our usa home. The service is so delightful, you feel like you are visiting red riding hoods granny and goldilocks. You will never bother eating icecream from a supermarket ever again

They sell lovely selection of local chocs and sweets plus a lot of American sweeties. Highly recommend the ice cream as its the best in southwold. They used to do lovely waffles with ice cream but alass they are no more

I live locally and love this little shop. The owner is lovely and very warm and welcoming. I love the range of jelly beans in here and the coffee is defo one of the best in the area with such a wide range of syrup flavours. Amazing selection of sweets from all over the world. A must visit if u love a little treat.

Stopped for a coffee but kids said best ice cream and sorbets around ,sweets from all over the world and assortments new and old time.

Visited here today (4th October) and was amazed at the vast selection of treats available!There was a good selection of pick and mixes (fizzy sweets, hard, soft, etc) along with prepackaged bags of some. In addition to this there was a decent offering of other hand made chocolates and sweets from around the UK. The other bonus of coming here is almost half the shop is solely devoted to imported sweets from the USA, Australia and New Zealand! There was also a selection of imported drinks and cereals. As well as the sweets you can also have some ice cream (there were about a dozen flavours when I went in) or a tea, coffee or hot chocolate (main take away, but there a couple of chairs inside if you wanted to). If that's not enough, if you come with you four legged friend there are even dog ice creams and popcorn!Whilst in there a few people mentioned about the prices, but I have looked in our massive Tesco's and the prices here are the same and in some cases cheaper than the supermarket! But I will say the choices here are 10x that of any supermarket I've been to.All in all I would recommend popping your head through the door!

At last somewhere to feed my sweet american addition. It was like walking into the willy wonka factory. Cant believe the choices. Anyone who has a sweet tooth needs to visit beaches and cream. I stocked up before heading home. Cant wait to revisit

We found beaches and cream whilst visiting southwold in September and what a treat we got! The weather was still lovely, so we got to try some of the ice creams. The banana and honeycomb in particular was exquisite! The staff in the shop were very friendly and helpful even whilst being so busy! We even got a little treat for the dog as they cater for canine appetites with doggy ice cream and doggy pop corn. We found out that it is owned by the boys who own the restaurant next door (coasters). Keep up the good work boys!

On my trip to Southwold a few weeks ago I wandered into town from the beach hut to forage for lunch for the clan and stumbled across this beauty of a shop. I will admit I am a sucker for a peanut butter m&m and a decent cream soda and as u can only usually get these in America I was extremely happy to find them in this little shop (also the fella loves a root beer so we we're both happy bunnies).We also went back the next day for some ice cream, delicious and the fact they sell ice cream that's ok for dogs is genius in this dog friendly town. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

A must have on holiday - ice cream, we were offered cone or none, but who wouldn't want a cone?!I had marmalade ice cream and now, all I want is more.Very heartily recommended.

This shop had a great selection of local and international treats! I love that I could find a large selection of American candy and cereals, and it was hard for me not to buy them all!I will definitely visit the next time I visit Southwold as it offers dog-friendly treats!

An emporium of scrumptious sweets and ice cream, even 'Fido's' not left out. It's not only the children who's jaws drop open here, but what to choose.......went eventually for the 'Gnaw' Salted caramel and peanut chocolate and a box of 'Bottle Caps'. The bottle caps smell as good as they taste and the salted caramel chocolate, well in my opinion it's better than.......!!!!!

On our recent visit enjoyed some of the local produce in the form of:Lemon curd ice cream and toffee banana and honeycomb ice cream .... sorry no pictures.Just one complaint .... it doesn't last very long!

When in Southwold, we always make a visit to Beaches & Cream!I love the selection of US imported food and drinks! I live in London, and I'm not aware of a shop that offers such a great US range. The US sweets etc are not cheap, but then, they are not from any other stores that sell them.Beaches & Cream also sell a huge range of Jelly Belly beans - I loved these when I was younger and again, I'm not aware of anywhere else that offers such a great selection.The ice cream flavours are really good. I remember there were special Christmas flavours and last week, they had some new delicious seasonal flavours; cherry, lemon curd, vintage marmalade.I would suggest that they advertise that they make & sell milkshakes a bit more - I was not aware of this until I read other reviews about how good they are on Tripadvisor. I will definitely try one on my next visit.Staff are always really friendly and chatty and are always patient with a store full of excited kids. Keep up the good work!

What a sweetie heaven this shop is ! The kids absolutely loved it, and it brought back so many childhood memories with all the sweets from years ago. The staff were very helpful, We will defiantly be returning.

Just visited southwold for a long weekend and after reading the reviews I had to pop into beaches and cream. I am mad on ice cream and this place tops the lot especially the honeycomb and salted caramel flavours. My wife had a milkshake which consisted of a scoop honeycomb ice cream and a scoop of banana with a choice of syrups, after tasting this I had to get one of these also!I would definitely be beaches and cream best customer if I lived a bit closer! Look forward to visiting again!

This sweet shop just gets better, the range of American sweets and chocolate is amazing. The ice creams are always of excellent quality and are huge but during my visit this time to Southwold they had a wonderful selection of Christmas flavours such as boozy fruit, Baileys, Egg nog, mulled wine sorbet. I was spoiled for choice. This place is the best!

This is the most marvellous place for adults and children alike - delicious ice creams, and what enormous scoops! - much more generous than other establishments in the same town. They usually have gelato, which I prefer to 'normal' ice cream as it's less calorific - and better still, they have sorbets, often in interesting flavours. If you still need a sugar rush when you've eaten your ice cream, they stock an amazing selection of sweets and soft drinks, many from the States - and there's a good range of pick and mix for the children. I was half-expecting Willy Wonka to emerge from behind the counter - it's that kind of place. Every seaside resort should have a Beaches and Cream!

Tried the lovely rum and rasin and cappaccino ice creams.they are amazing. very large selection of sweets to choose from.very nice seating been put in,since i last visited.when you are in Southwold,dont forget to visit Beaches and Cream.

We visited Beaches & Cream yesterday, on a day out in Southwold on our way back from Latitude festival. Being a perfect summer's day, we wanted an ice-cream and spotted this place on a walk around the town. We ordered two cones with two scoops of ice cream/gelato (2 chocolate, 1 amaretto and 1 pistachio). The cones were absolutely huge and it only £2.75. We were both shocked at the value, given that a few days before we'd paid £3.50 for a very sad looking 99. The ice cream was delicious and we'll certainly be visiting Southwold and Beaches & Cream again.

I've had a few milkshakes from Beaches and Cream and they have all been really good!! My favourite though has to be Banoffee! Love the selection of syrups for coffees too, I'm trying to work my way through them! See you soon Beaches and Cream :)

Visited southwold this bank holiday last year and this little gem wasn't here. We passed beaches and cream and was immediately caught by the window display and the kids went crazy they pretty much dragged us in the shop the amount of sweets and confectionery on offer is mind blowing. The american sweets and drinks are a nice touch to they even had special ice cream for the dog, I had the bubble gum ice cream which was outstanding I spoke to the owner which happened to be in there at the time who also owns the establishment coasters restaurant next door which is highly regarded on trip advisor so we'll definitely be visiting in the coming days and I have a feeling if the kids get there way we'll be back to beaches and cream to.
