Beach House in Isle of Wight

I’ve never not had a great experience at the Beach House Cafe. From the wide unique range of seafood to the casual burgers it’s all been excellent. 10/10 I definitely recommend to everyone. The hospitality is also just as good as everything else. The location as well is perfect as you eat your food you have a great view of the Solent and Portsmouth.

The crab roll was good. The crab meat taste fresh

Prices were clearly advertised but what I got for the money was disappointing. 'Crab & chips' near £14 in a cardboard box was a table spoon of cold crabmeat (I think) on a portion of okay chips. Beer was also hideously overpriced- I mean, it's a hut, the overheads won't be Rick Stein.

Food wasn't great, the burger buns where sweet, didn't really go with bacon roll. Service was friendly and smiley but 40 for chips and bacon roll isn't very good

Nice location and the girl serving was cheerful, chicken burger and chips ordered. The burger came with pretty much nothing, over fried it tasted like it had just been reheated lots of times. Fries were stale.. if I wasn't on a schedule I would have probably returned the order.

We had our lunch there. Nice views and clean tables. The girl accidentally gave to us wrong order and we kindly returned it. The quality of food is just basic. We ordered fish n chips and was 2/10 tasteless, dry and overcooked. Crab n chips was just ok.

What lovely people! We were the only people on the beach on a soggy July day today - we sat under the large gazebo, were given plenty of serviettes to dry our seats, smiles, lovely drinks and cakes, and extra large ice-creams for my grandsons while getting soaked themselves in serving us. If you can do that in good spirits with lots of smiles then that’s worth five stars plus! Thank you!!!

Long wait for the food but worth the wait... We opted for the fish n Chips which from the wait was very freshly made.... very nice... friendly guys working there also... 🥂😀

People, location and set up all very nice. Chips quite good. Fish inedible! Watery, mushy, tasteless - maybe stored frozen for years before being cooked? I threw it away. Buy something else from their menu.

I was verbally abused by a worker there ! He basically cross questioned me for no reason , a young girl finally served me after looking at me for a few minutes after giving my order bacon sausage & egg roll x 2 cajun chips (she didn’t even know if they were spicy when I asked her if they was ) and a larger / within a minute I asked her if she could change the larger to a latte she didn’t know how to change the till reading , the fellow brown hair angry green eyes he came over & asked me what my problem was ? I said there was no problem & to drop his attitude, he then said I had tge problem ? The poor girl looked terrified , I had my grandchildren with me and knew not to escalate the situation and talked him down , he was a horrible sarcastic being ! He asked me if I had cash when he knew I had already used my card he said they preferred cash ???? I told him I would take it further he said OH ARE YOU A FOOD hygienist then I said you’ll find out who I am & what I do I have since reported him to the good food guide and spoken to others who have had similar rudeness from him to top it all the young girl took my order wrong ? No sausage I went back up to ask to see my till order - no sausage he angrily asked if I wanted it changed to which I said no as long as I was charged correctly that was all that mattered - it had just stopped raining it wasn’t busy there was only 1 other family sitting down drinking I would never eat there again and will discourage others to do the same Shockingly bad attitude Thursday 30/95/24

We have been charged more than price advertised for a dry cake. I will definitely avoid next time.

Loved this place. It was pricey but so is everything these days. Food was lovely and very large portions. Staff were friendly and helpful. Could improve by adding gluten free baguette options as my only choice was to have chips, but they were lovely.

Great place for lunch- lovely baguettes. Food was delicious. Staff were friendly. Was a great place eat and people watch. Would 10/10 recommend. Also came back later for waffles which were also amazing

Fantastic location on the beach. Amazing Sundaes and wide range if flavours avail. This is part of the hot food and drink Beach House which is next door.

Says chips you get fries not what you expect

Lovely food breakfast baps are great and the fish and chips is brilliant. We would definitely be coming back for more . Great service as well

Awful place. I had to wait a hour for a crab bun. Brioche bun had been microwaved and was hard and chewy, the crab tasted watery and had no seasoning. Not worth £14!

Delicious frozen yoghurt and strawberries. The young woman who explained that it was time to start packing away the café but she didn't want us to feel rushed was really polite and welcoming.

Happened to just stop at this place along Ryde seafront. Had the Fish Goujon baguette (was kind of expecting frozen fish fingers in a roll), but got the most delicious, freshly made, proper fish goujons. Really lovely. My partner who isn't a big eater had a kids meal (with some really delicious chips), but it was still a substantial portion. Service was also really friendly. Would highly recommend.

Hugely overpriced & very small portions. £32 for 2 small stale buns with tasteless brown crab. Given the other treasures to be found on the island for far less money, I’m afraid we won’t be back. It’s a shame as it’s so local to home.

£17.30 for a crab sandwich and chips with a very disappointing amount of crab in the roll. Chips were nice, but not enough to return.

If you’re ever nearby i’d really recommend going, when I went there last time I ordered some lovely local hand picked crab and enjoyed the amazing view, it was great.

I go there all summer! Its so friendly and the staff are all welcoming. The food is delicious and worth every penny! Lovely location and great for all ages, it is most certainly my favourite food place. Special mention to the fresh crab meals and their extraordinary chips.

Visited last year and had amazing crab baguette and was delicious,very fresh. Staff were very professional, and polite. Highly recommend if you want some nice food with an amazing view

Coffee was the worst I have ever had!!

Speechless at the foul language coming from a staff member on two separate trips. We visited Ryde for the day on 17th Aug 21 and went for coffee at the Beach House where a rather large girl with mousey hair was F’ing and blinding about customers and hating her job whilst drinking what looked like a beer. My children overheard. We came back later in the day and the same girl served the man in front of me and had a very ‘can’t be arsed attitude’ with him. She then stood in the middle of the kitchen area very loudly talking to one of the male chefs saying ‘I f’ing hate kids, in fact I F’ing hate people, I don’t know why I’m in this business’. On top of the high prices for small small cups off very standard coffee, I found the experience disgusting due solely to her. Won’t be back as fooled twice already. Not all doom and gloom, the thin girl with dark hair was very polite and prompt.

I brought churros from here, they were the worst churros I’ve ever had. They were sooo oily , lacked taste, uncooked in the centre and had lost shape. They barely sprinkled any sugar on it aswell.I honestly feel kind of sick now.

Stopped for a latte and was surprised to be served one of the best lattes I have ever had.
