e The Change: New Street Worcester 881714176 So disappointed with the new be the change. Under the original ownership/staff there was a sense of community, a warmth. That’s gone. The owner can’t be bothered to engage, even when there are problems to address. Food is poor. Even with pre booking and no other customers we had to wait 45 minutes. I’m happy to wait for good food but half the ingredients were missing and what we got was tasteless and grey. The waitress was nice, but lacking confidence and chat. Probably I’m guessing because of the leadership or lack of, because she seemed in an impossible position when I challenged their refusal to accept cash, and abandoned by her boss who stayed hidden in the kitchen, despite being seen walking in and out the restaurant several times throughout our meal, failing to acknowledge customers/guests. Don’t take any omnivores here, it definitely won’t assist you to convince them vegans eat colourful, tasty food.

I’m actually devastated at how downhill this place has gone under the new ownership. I had previously eaten here many times, incredible variety of exciting options and all of them absolutely delicious. Well today I visited again for the first time since the new ownership and oh my goodness, what a disappointment. The service was terrible, we got there and were shown to a table but no communication. We realised no one was coming to take our order, but then spotted a sticker on the table saying “order on the app” so we did. Then someone came over and said we’re not using the app right now, and that they didn’t have one of the drinks we’d ordered. Fine, but could have let us know when we sat down. We then waited an HOUR for our food, the mac and cheese was fine but the fries were burnt to a crisp. We’d only ordered two of the hot “sandwiches” (lobster roll and shawarma) as it was lunch, so no idea how this took an hour to make. When we enquired about the food we were told one of the chefs never showed up that morning! Again it would have been nice to know this when we sat down as we were starving. There was only us and one other table in so it wasn’t exactly busy. The food, was terrible. The “lobster roll” was some tangy mush between what can only be described as two chunky breadsticks. The shawarma was mostly just sad looking salad. Honestly so so gutted because this place used to be my favourite thing about Worcester! You couldn’t pay me to visit again. I had previously left a 5 star review for this establishment after my first visit, so incredibly disappointed to see the direction it’s gone.

The new owners of the restaurant are completely missing the point of what BTC was, and what it can and has previously offered. What used to be a varied, well thought out and loved menu and space to eat is sadly no longer anywhere near achieving the same standards. Worcester needs more dedicated vegan eateries that have excellent family friendly spaces and staf. In the current incarnation of Be The Change all there is is lacklustre offerings, standard tasteless panini and an extremely dull interior. The ‘new’ Brookie was dry and brick like and the panini was over cooked and tasteless, with very little filling. If we want to engage more people in a plant based diet, the current standards here definitely won’t achieve that. Dry cake, tasteless food- this is just playing to the criticisms that vegan food is often subjected to by people that don’t know any better. I’m giving it 2/5 because the girl serving us was friendly, but that’s about it I’m afraid. I’m taking a guess that the new owners aren’t actually vegan themselves- there would be so much more ‘heart’ in it if they were.

Cake was lovely and the best coffee I’ve had in a while! I would recommend to everyone, the food looks great too, I’ll come back if I ever visit Worcester

A warm welcome as soon as I stepped in. Love this place, this is not the first time I have dined alone, always feel at home. I was so pleased to see my favourite items on the menu still and as the portions are so generous, colourful and tasty. I love it!

Lovely restaurant. Refreshing menu. Good Vegan food and almost all gf. Also do wide range of non alcoholic and alcoholic drinks. Fabulously friendly staff too.

Visited last night and had a great experience, some items on the menu were not available but still a good range of food available. Friendly, attentive staff and delicious vegan food full of flavour. My first visit to Worcester, touring the cafés and restaurants, pubs and bars, and my friend introduced me to this place: Be The Change. I was skeptical, as I've been to vegan places in Manchester, Birmingham, and even London, and they usually serve skimpy portions for extortionate prices (because, y'know, being vegan is a luxury). Like my absent mother always said; "One should not assume, because you make an ass out of U and Me." The menu was amazing. They have everything from vegan shrimp, to-fish and chips, cheezburger-loaded fries and katsu, to classics like big burgers and kebabs. And the quantities? They serve it all with the plates stacked like tory paypackets. Plenty for some glamorous social media posts, but you won't catch any models throwing away the food after a pic - it's cooked to perfection. The decor was incredible; lots of facts about animals having feelings and their lifestyles outside of farms, beautiful paintings of cows and sheep, pigs and hens, and small plants growing in test tubes. Staff are super friendly and welcoming from the get-go, and were happy to recommend dishes for a very, very indecisive vegan from out of town. Although, nothing beats an ice-cold Brewdog Punk IPA to wash it all down - classic. Lovely place, 10 out of 10. I'm looking for more excuses to return to this city just to eat here again. I love this restaurant, the staff, atmosphere and food! Every time I visit it is a delight. There is such a variety of vegan food and I have never been disappointed, the portions are generous and I would say it is good valuefor money. The staff are always cheerful and helpful.

Been here four times in the last 6 Months. The food is second to none. Already thinking about what I’ll have next time, it’s that good. The problem is the choice, so much to choose from. Huge lunch yesterday, enough for the day. Dishes are interesting, tasty, real mix of flavours, and being vegan behind all that is so impressive.

If I could say anything negative about my trip to such a lovely vegan establishment it's that I probably ordered the wrong thing. I was struck by the sheer variety of food available, which includes a daily special, that I went for a large kebab I wasn't feeling. That said, it was still very nice and all five of us left full and pleased we'd had great food at a reasonable price. Service was amazing, welcoming with a casual energy that was perfect for our group. There was also minimal wait for drinks or food during our weekday lunchtime visit. Would definitely go back next time I'm in the area.

Eaten in the restaurant a couple of times and got take away a few times too, everything I have tried from them has been amazing and the staff are always so friendly and helpful. My go to place to bring friends and family and they have all enjoyed it too!
