A wonderful place to stay. Not too far to walk to centre. A nice quiet area with Sainsbury and restaurants nearby. The breakfast was good and jad enough variety to choose from. Everyone was was kind and helpful especially Vicky who was so good amd helpful to me during my stay.

It's a nice B&B, located a little away from the downtown but in a nice and quiet neighboord ideal for relaxing. The room was spacious, with a comfortable bed (maybe a little small), a good shower, and good Wi-Fi. The staff is very friendly and helpful, willing to help at any time. The breakfast was very good.

Stayed here in April 2025. We booked to have a room with a bath but when we arrived were told there was none available. The room was unclean on arrival with pubic hair on the floor of the shower. The underneath of the toilet seat was covered in dried urine. Our bed was not made properly with the undersheet not straightened or tucked in. Two of our towels were covered in another women's make-up. The breakfast was NOT freshly cooked it was heated up in a microwave and arrived on our table less than two minutes after ordering it with the tomatoes still sizziling. it was tastless and of poor quality. Others at breakfast were also complaining to staff about the dirty bathrooms. When we complained the scruffy young male at reception told us that the place has been up for sale for months and if we didn't like it then we should go else where. We moved up the street to Clementines and stayed there for the remainder of our stay. What a difference. Everything was spotlessly clean and the staff were lovely. We told them about our experience with B+B York and they said that we are the 4th customers in 6 weeks that have came across to them from there with similar complaints. DONT STAY HERE. ITS DISGUSTING.

Avoid room 4, absolutely disgraceful. Mattress had springs that stuck in me so didn’t get a good nights sleep.Carpet has an awful smell and grimy, bathroom shower needs refurbishing, curtains had holes in them with dirty brown stains. View of back grimy yard was awful. Large spiders web on light fitting. Was given another room which was acceptable but very small bathroom. Emailed hotel for refund for the first night but they said no due to giving me a different room. On a positive note breakfast was fine. Glad to leave.

Great b&b 10 minute walk from the city walls in a quiet road. Service is very friendly and there is a car park with a £10 charge. The breakfast is very nice. The room we had was very large with separate bath and shower. Onsite bar if required.

Great part of York away from the crowds but not to far from the centre

Severely let down by poor breakfast and managers general demeanor and attitude. Walking distance into York. Room was small but clean but the mattress was very uncomfortable. Check in and serving staff were friendly, polite and efficient. Unfortunately the "Breakfast" and who I believe to be the manager/owner really let the whole experience down.

We first stayed here a few years ago, and since then, we have never looked elswhere, as this has everything we need. We have just returned from our "Umteenth" stay, (It must be somewhere around 15 visits to date), and as always, we were not disappointed. Arrived early as usual to collect a parking permit and leave the car parked on site, then a ten minute stroll into York center. Returning later to the usual friendly welcome at the reception for check-in (to a much appreciated room upgrade)... We never tire of staying here, ALL the STAFF are ALWAYS very FRIENDLY and very welcoming. We always have a great nights sleep here, in this very quiet location, and it's ALWAYS followed by a very nice breakfask, with plenty of choice. The B+B remains Excellent value all round and feels like a home from home whenever we visit....👌💯

My friends and I stayed here for 2 nights in an annex in the grounds. There were 3 single beds and a lovely bathroom with a shower. Breakfast was really good although some fruit and nuts/ muesli would have been a nice addition. The place was very clean and warm, the staff were great but my one gripe was despite there being a bar (and cocktails being advertised) there was no ice, and no effort made to get some. We were hoping a cocktail, back at the accommodation, was going to round off our weekend away, so this was a disappointment. A minor detail, which wouldn't stop us from staying here again, but if something is advertised, it should be available.

Every time I go to York, I always come to this cafe. Everyone who works there are really friendly, and they also have a dog menu ! I would highly recommend this cafe to anyone who is visiting or lives in York.

This is the kind of café I love! It's located in an old medieval tower of York's city defences, once used to bar the river with a massive chain. Now it's filled with mismatched furniture, bits and bobs and a cosy atmosphere. The staff is lovely and the same can be said about both the coffee and the porridge. I really liked that honey, raisins and cinnamon for the latter were served separately so I could add them to taste! There's limited seating inside, but on a sunny day the café sprawls out onto the riverside quay with lots of outdoor tables.

Stumbled across the hall while completing the York Cat Hunt. Highly recommend popping in 1) to see the hall 2) to have a lovely cuppa and a sit down.
