Sadly recent changes to the menu has removed the desire for us to go out of our way to eat here. It used to be great for lunch en route to places, but the "edge" has gone, and it is no longer worth the extra couple of miles.

We both ordered scampi and chips. Soon after starting to eat our meals it became apparent that both plates of food had been smothered in shaker salt. When I mentioned this to the waitress she replied “ well next time let us know you don’t want salt and we’ll leave it off”. Just don’t smother the food in salt in the first place, it’s not rocket science. If we want salt all over our food we can make the choice by adding it ourselves. Note to chef : stop this practice.

We took our puppy to Baytree for his first socialising trip out and sat on the terrace. Went through via the restaurant were made to feel very welcome as we were unsure of how he would react. We were told where the dog snacks were and advised we did not have to sit outside as we could sit in the inside dog friendly area if we wanted. Will definitely take him again a great experience. Well done Baytree staff.

We had to wait a very long time for our meal but the most annoying thing was a person who came in long after us got served quickly . The table next to ours were in long before us but was served after us. This is unacceptable. My meal of spinach and riccota taglitelli was ok after I had seasoned it with salt and pepper before that very bland. We should have been informed that there was a long wait when we arrived then we would have had the choice of waiting or going elsewhere. Not happy that when we made a comment about the wait the answer was that the kitchen was short of staff because of holidays. Obviously very bad management not organising the covering of holidays. Will not be returning again.

Visited for lunch with my friend and our children. I'm dairy free and they were very accommodating. They could make coffee or milkshakes with oat milk. I wanted a smoothie but they couldn't make those on this day unfortunately. I ordered the egg mayo sandwich and this came made without butter as I requested. There didn't seem to be much egg in it though, and what was there was quite large chunks rather than lots of little bits mixed with the mayo like I would normally expect. My friend ordered a ham and cheese sandwich from the children's menu for her 2 year old little boy, and this was bigger than the adult sandwiches! So for less money you can get a bigger sandwich which seems a bit odd! The cheese was grated so of course easily went everywhere when he was eating. Other than a those little details it's a lovely cafe, I really like the setting and it's a frequent place for me to meet friends. Lots of nice options on the menu and not too badly priced.

As a birthday treat we went for a Sunday lunch. Service was very slow. Due to "Shortage of staff". Various items were not available. We were not given an alcohol list. We never could get a dessert due to " staff coming off for their breaks". The cauliflower wasn't even as large as a £2 coin & the skins on the roast potatoes were very hard. Incorrect drinks put onto bill.

Having been here several times for Sunday lunch we were very disappointed on our visit today. We ordered our usual roast only to find smaller portions, tired vegetables and uninspiring meat. It was more like a works canteen meal than a restaurant experience. A real shame as at £16 a head it is reasonable to expect good quality and quantity. Points to ponder Baytree as there is good local competition for the Sunday lunch Market.

A very disappointing meal and slow service. We visited for a Sunday Lunch to celebrate a family birthday and were very disappointed. We are local and know this is garden centre food and not a posh restaurant. However we still expect decent food. The Turkey roulade was very small, mostly stuffing and what meat there was was very tough. The roast potatoes were very greasy and had been so overcooked they had no potato left inside. We were seated and ticked off at the welcome stand but waited 25 minuets before anyone came to take our order. All the while a waiter was standing talking to people they knew a few tables away. I would have mentioned the problems with the food at the time but my family just wanted to leave.

Absolutely SUPERB! Welcome, service, food, staff and atmosphere. Garden Centre, related shops and restaurant all of exquisite standard and excellent value. In the restaurant the waiting/serving team - Ben especially - were great - kind, professional and attentive - without being smothering. Food was for approx. 25 people - it came out hot and we were all able to eat together - and it stayed hot as plates were appropriately heated - it was beautifully cooked and was absolutely delicious. It was a traditional Christmas Dinner - absolutely amazing roast potatoes and Yorkshires, lovely veg, meat delicious (according to fellow guests and the veg Nut Roast was beautiful. Desserts were also superb - presented beautifully and tasted amazing! The actual Garden centre; the shops, the Christmas shop (inc. Santa's Grotto) absolutely fabulous - massive range of lovely products for all tastes and pockets. THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!! Well. A very disaplointing experience today. Went for lunch and ordered a burger from the 'specials menu'. I got a dry bun with sprigs of lettuce and onion slices A deep fried very small piece of chicken. Chunky chips. Tap water. £12.95. As I paid and drove off I thiught 'that was expensive'. Checked their menu. Beef burger with 2x3 oz beef burgers, lettuce, onion, cheese £12.95. It doesn't take a genius to work out that the 'special' is not and is a genuine rip off. I 'phoned to debate this but just got an apology for the price. I won't be back.

Two adults and two dogs enjoyed our weekend at the GTI. From arrival, the personalised touches really made for a memorable experience- homemade cakes, gin and tonic in the suite, relaxed but efficient service and delightfully presented accommodation. The pub and restaurant is wonderful, the food is exceptional. The service was wonderfully attentive and relaxed, the prices were good value. We ate in the restaurant and the pub, both menus were superb. We visited beaches, ran around the Downs, shopped in Burnham Market and Thornham Farm shops.

Probably my worst WS meal ever. 3 sausages almost burnt, they were tasteless and well overcooked which I said to the server who grinned at me. The chips as usual most were hard and inedible, peas hard. Served in a bowl with gravy all over the chips.
