Stopped here whilst visiting the area. Used to go to Baynes when I visited my Grandparents who were from Lochgelly and this is the first I have been back for almost 20 years. The selection of cakes and pies etc is brilliant and still tasted as good as I always remembered. The prices are reasonable and I only wish there were Baynes up in Aberdeenshire.

The one thing you can tell when you spot a Baynes sign is the consistency of the cakes and baking .A busy shop with locals and visitors supplying hot and cold takeaway food . The sausage rolls and bridies being particular favourites . With a good range of cakes the apple and rhubarb tarts need a mention

Popped in for a coffee. It's a small ish cafe and there were 3 staff members, 2 behind the counter and another out front. There was only another 2 customers in the place but I wasn't acknowledged at all, even after wandering about, unsure where to sit. The coffee was very disappointing unfortunately. It tasted like sickly hot milk, even after an extra shot, and was very unpleasant. Considering it costs the same as the big named cafes, it's something that needs to be looked at. Yuck. On the plus side, the cakes looked great, just stick to tea.

So disappointed, we've been to the Byers road Zizzis many a time and it's a family favourite. We were expecting the same and were sorely disappointed. Thankfully we had booked a table in advance however the place didn't seem busy. The manager who greeted us was great and he was really attentive. However after being taken to the table we were passed to the waiting staff and things went downhill. No-one came near us for a drinks order and we were left waiting for 20 minutes until someone came to take the food order, we then had to prompt them to take a drinks order. The waiting staff were abrupt and had no nicety about them. One was ridiculously rude when they brought food to the table that we hadn't ordered. When the food came it was lovely and couldn't complain about the kitchen at all, it was tasty and of a great standard. Over all the place looks nice, the food was lovely, but the waiting staff we dealt with were rude and unwelcoming.

Went for breakfast, all the order was wrong - asked why and was told they had run out of stock, the irony when it is literally based in a supermarket. Food was cold, took 45 minutes to bring out, ALL empty tables were cluttered and messy, felt for the poor staff who were run off their feet. They really should consider closing it down if they can't staff it appropriately.

So I am the owner Fisher And Donaldson my name is Rory milne and I would say people are rating at one star review and I do not agree with that so it is probably one of the best old Scottish bakeries. I would recommend a Scottish pie personally my fudged on it is probably my favourite treat.
