Bayleaf in Caerphilly

First time ordering from Bayleaf tonight and I can honestly say the food was incredible. It took just 45mins for it to be delivered (Blackwood), and the food was all fresh and piping hot. One of the best Indians I’ve had for a VERY long time. Kudos!

I've lived in the area for many years and usually order from other curry houses in Risca. After reading about the Bayleaf's recent curry award I thought I would give them a try. OMG I'm so glad we did. Our currys were so much nicer than our usual go to curry house with a hugh diffference in depth of taste. Their coconut rice was deligate and light and our Nanns was made to prefection. We've found our new favourite Curry House. Thanks Bayleaf.

I placed an order via Just Eat for several items - one being chicken curry. I had a phone call talking me through the order and made me aware that the curry was quite spicy - I told the restaurant that it was for my 11 year old and they amended the recipe to make it milder for her - excellent service - thank you!

Being able to choose Contemporary, Apna or Old Style is an import thing for me. All dishes we have had have been excellent since we started visiting in February 2022. Another bonus using the online ordering system is being able to tailor Curry dishes with extra chilli, garlic, half Madras etc. This makes the dish feel more bespoke / tailored. Shah and team always look after us. We cannot recommend Bayleaf enough!

Ordered a delicious chicken shashlic straight out of the grill and it was absolutely splended and mouth watering. I was shocked to see how juicy the shashlic was. Thank you for an amazing service and delicious food, would deffonately recommend. I will be backkk!!!

Fantastic food from @bayleafrisca last night... I wanted something a bit different from the usual offering and was suggested a 'murgi saag achar' (chicken green tikka) chicken tikka, chilli, onions, garlic, pickle, spinach with a side of garlic rice and Bombay aloo. The first thing I'd like to compliment The Bayleaf on, is the staff are so friendly and inviting when you arrive and the kitchen is open plan and spotless... In between orders the chefs are cleaning down the surfaces and tidying things away to an impressive pace. The food is cooked perfectly, fresh vegetables, expertly spiced, tender tandoori chicken and fluffy garlic rice, all served piping hot! This is most definitely one of my favourite go to Currie house's at the moment 🙌

Ordered an old style curry from here and it was lovely. Friendly staff , order came on time and was hot on arrival. If you're looking for a place that does a delicious old style curry chose Bayleaf!

Just had onion bhaji, meat samosas, keema rice, chicken tikka massalla, murgh massalla and garlic nan. We were shocked how lovely, fresh and full of flavor the food was. For such a small shop they do incredible food and will be definitely returning. We have tried loads of Indian food and would say this was the best you have had.

Fabulous food, with the option of old style traditional curry. Friendly and efficient service too. Highly recommended!

Whenever I am out and about for business trips especially in Newport, Bayleaf is my first choice. Friendly staff and serve freshly made mouth watering dishes. My favorite is the Lamb Tikka Jalfrezi and I just love how they prepare it. They take a little longer to prepare but I don't mind because I know good food takes time. I would highly recommend this place if you want to try authentic curry dishes.

Ordered online and was told 60 minute wait. Three hours later and food arrives - kids gone to bed hungry- not good enough. Please make sure that the delivery times are accurate at the point of order so that people can make an informed decision as to wether or not to order

Really enjoyed when 1st opened however its seems to have lost the quality as bland and watered down. Nan bread was perfect. But curry average. Would recommend to try and will go again. Butonly if quality improves

So I won a £10 voucher, the staff deliever Me a chicken curry, chips, keema Nan, popadoms and a can of coke with my £10 win, the food was absolutely delicious, staff were very very polite! Would definitely recommend

We used this place a few times was nice. Delivery was good timing and still hot. Nice menu. Lovely nan bread and will make food with special requests.

Food was brilliant as expected but when putting my preorder in early at 16:35pm to then have to wait till 19:15pm for the delivery. I understand it being busy but surely not many people ordered food before me. It was then an extra 20-25 mins late. Food excellent but feel to wait over 2 hours for a meal I pre ordered is a lil excessive even on a bank holiday

the worst meal I have ever had from you, first of all had to wait almost 4 hours for the food to arrive and the it was cold.

Food over an hour late arriving and restaurant lied that Just Eat had amended delivery slot - will not be ordering again. Booked 2 hours ahead of restaurant opening to ensure that food arrived at time required

So disappointed ordered at 6:30 given a two hour delivery time. Of 8:35pm. I called at 8:40 to see I was told it was being packed. Half an hour later no sign the restaurant is round the corner from My house, called again. It’s out for delivery. To wait another half hour.

Original delivery time was 2210 so it was a nice surprise when it arrived early. Piping hot food and one of the few takeaways who can make a Phall hot enough for the other half. Absolutely amazing food and huge portions, our new favourite Indian!

Lovely fresh veg Biryani - gorgeous veg with a bite instead of soggy left overs reheated as from other takeaways, fresh tasting rice and a nice sauce. Special Biryani with Madras sauce - great as was the Special Tikka Pasanda. 2 of the best free poppadoms - thin crisp and no grease- and 2 lovely mint sauce - which we all loved. Well done will order again. Good value and great food.

been waiting to try this place for a while and to be honest food was pretty standard. food was delivered 1hr and ten minutes earlier than stated at point of order which is a nightmare when you order for a certain time so you can make sure the kids are settled. also delivery driver had the cheek to be hanging around for a tip.

Food tastes great, almost every time I've ordered it's come early and been perfect, but unfortunately the last 2 times I've ordered a VEGETABLE phall + apna style, it has arrived with chicken in it which I really haven't wanted and am pretty sure isn't a vegetable. Other than that they're brilliant

Absolutely delicious food as always. Great service. Only one negative, collect if you can as the delivery was nearly 2 hrs. I originally asked for delivery but realising the time scale, I decided to collect. I was given poppadoms and a bottle of coke to make up the delivery charge I had already pre-paid.

changed the delivery time which was fine expected it as is was Saturday night, turned up earlier than quoted, delivery driver was polite when asking directions as we can be hard to find if you don’t know the area plus food was hot & tasty couldn’t faulty any of it 5 * all round

although the food was delivered an hour before the time I was given, which was amazing. the poppadoms were stale and broken into tiny pieces practically dust and both peshwari and plain naan where stale and slightly burnt in the middle. the rice. chips and curry’s I ordered where amazing. I would still order and recommend this place but would have to rethink the poppadoms and bread.

Had a takeaway couple of times from here now. Every time it's been piping hot, not quite ready on time but still very enjoyable. Gluten free options and an understanding of what coeliacs can and can't have which is great news

Food was excellent however it was the delivery time which let this down. Ordered before 6pm and had an estimated delivery time of 7:30 as this was a Friday night it was fine however this was then extended to 8pm, called to ask if this was right or we would collect and was told it would be with us within 1 hour and 15mins and not the 2 hours which was estimated as they had just not updated the system.. Food arrived 2 hours later at 8pm.. This isn’t the first time this has happened and hoped last time was a one time thing.. Very disappointing for such good food

I have had many of Indian take always but this is by far the worst everything tasted like it was old , the naan breads were stone cold , the curries themselves were in-edible and the overall quality was very poor I have rated a one because 0 was not an option

My meal was late However the food was absolutely Delicious Piping Hot!!!!!! And Chicken properly heated through the sauce was reduced to a thick yummy Creaminess Fantastico!!!!!!!

Unfortunately my 1st experience ordering food here will be my last. A 2 hour delivery wait and when the food arrived it wasn’t very enjoyable, the side order of chips was pale and soggy, the meat in the main dish lacked in flavour and was extremely tuff/chewy .
