Very tasty food except the hot foods. those are toooo hot and tasted like chilli powder just boiled for the sake of it. not eatable by humans. Apart from this, All other food items like mango chicken, malai chicken etc were delicious. worth ordering for 60+ pounds.

Food was okay but a bit bland. Some pieces of meat didn't taste very fresh. Disappointed given the otherwise great reviews.

Just finished our take out, delivered to the local campsite quicker than expected. The quality of the food was very good. An unfair review from a previous customer complaining! of the portion size… they weren’t wrong. We completely over ordered and unfortunately had to throw some away as we’re camping. If we were at home we would have been able to feed 2 people for 3 days. So great value for money. Shame it went to waste!! Otherwise a great experience. Tarka Dahl and mushroom bhaji were thick and creamy, chicken shashlik came with rice and a separate sauce (I chose madras). Roti was delicious. Popadoms, salad, raita and a chutney were also in the bag (didn’t order). 🌺

Korma sauce was watery and tasteless, chicken was stringy and undercooked and the mango chutney was bad taste, the only good thing was the vegetable pakora

Great food, large portion size and flavorful curries. Good vegetarian options too.

This was the best meal Iv had in a long time. The food was delicious, full of flavour. The meats were tender, and perfectly cooked. I will be going here again

Takeaway, but you can make yourself a hot cuppa for free while you are waiting if you are collecting. Food is always great quality, and always deliver in quicker time than any other takeaway I've used.

Hands down the best curry by a country mile. Accept no substitute. Everything is fresh, vibrant and delicious. Will 100% be ordering again. Keep it up.

One of the best Indian food I have had in Edinburgh

First takeaway from here tonight since it became the Bay Leaf and what a disappointing meal. Portions too large (we ordered 1 starter and 1 meal between 2 of us). Most of it went in the bin, curry sauce (chasni) looked and tasted like spicy tomato soup, the colour alone was off-putting. Bombay potato was mediocre. Even the nan bread wasn't the best. No salad with starter. Worst takeaway we've had and it was supposed to be a treat. The meal cost £33, overpriced! Won't be back.

First time order from here had the butter chicken and chicken pathia, both dishes arrived hot and were delicious, the cheese nan was great also! I would defo use again and i’m really fussy about curry! Thanks!

Honestly, this is the best Indian food we have ordered! Puts the others to shame. Full of chicken, nans were soft and full of flavour, and everything was cooked to a high standard. Fresh, hot and very tasty.

The good is normally decent but tonight both meals were bland with a strange unwelcoming smell.

We live locally and would highly recommend this place. The staff are lovely, are happy to talk through the menu and come up with the perfect combinations for the family. The tarka dahl our favourite. Love the aubergine curry and the mixed veg too. All with distinctly different flavours. 👏👏the portions are super generous so we usually have it all over again the next day!

Brilliant takeaway, arrived promptly, piping hot and very tasty! Garlic naan in particular was exceptional! Will use again!

This Wee Gem is amazing. Happened to be in the vicinity and stumbled across it. Firstly the Food is Another Level. Really Tasty. Big Portions. We went for the Set Menu for 2 for £26. Onion Bhajis, 2 x Poppadoms, 1 x Naan, 1 x Pilau Rice, 1 x Butter Chicken, 1 x Chicken Tikka Masala. We will definately be back even though it a bit of a drive for us. Definitely worth the trip.

Usually go to the Pumpherston restaurant but decided to use the express tonight as it’s slightly closer, same fantastic quality. Will be back soon

As promised to the guy behind the counter when he asked for a review I will review it regardless of whether it is good or bad. 2 Nans, chicken biryani, chicken tikka, and spiced onions. It was fantastic. 1st time in Bayleaf Express as it is not local for me however well worth a 20mile journey! Juicy, well-spiced creamy tikka, cooked to-perfection rice in biryani accompanied by well-spiced garlic and chees Naan bread, and spiced onion. Don't usually post reviews, but well deserved, so keep up the good work and 5star customer service. Will be back again for sure.

Great!! Ordered for the first time tonight and everything was hot and delicious! Their onion bhajis are my fave! Been to their big restaurant in Pumpherston, and this is just as great. Highly recommend both!

Partner had ordered a Korma, it was thick like a paste and almost fluorescent in colour. We were both ill sadly and not likely to order from here again I’m afraid.

First time using Bay Leaf, only ordered appetisers, starters & sides, but very impressed. Friendly service, efficient delivery & everything we ordered was lovely and order arrived with a complimentary starter & poppadoms. Will définitely try bay leaf again next time for main courses too, other local Indian take aways seem to overcook their chicken etc so will be interesting to find out if bay leaf take better care.
