Batterfly Fish & Chips in Richmond upon Thames

We used to order often food from Batterfly, delivered at home. This time we went to have lunch at the place with my wife (disabled) and our westie. The owner (he was alone) refused us because of our little dog. The room was empty, and our dog under the table could not have done any dammage. However this is not indicated anywhere on the door or restaurant window. No compromise, no kindness, no apologies for the absence of warning. It was clear the guy (the boss, because he said "I decide") did not want us, nor maybe any client today. We won't order anything from him anymore. The food is generally acceptable, but not better than elsewhere.

The shop is clean, no smell in fact a clean smell and the staff are very friendly and efficient. We did not have to wait long and the food is great.

Ordered takeaway with family friends on a Saturday evening. Generous portions and deliciously fried chips and fish! Friendly staff. What more can you ask for?

Excellent and friendly service. Decent portion of cod chunks (I expected them to be much smaller!) and chips. This is my local chippy and I’ll certainly continue to get food from here with family and friends.

The best! It’s actually in Berrylands than Kingston! Lots of parking, beautiful shop nicely decorated and spotless! The quality , and portions are superb and exceptional value! Shall be returning! Cooked to order, nice lads serving in a family run business! Really impressed

Very happy with my order of cod which was well cooked, and a good portion given the price. Chips were slightly soggy, but extremely edible. Batter was fine and not greasy. Staff were friendly enough, but had never heard of Whitby, which means they haven't researched their product. Still who cares if the food is good enough

I was surprised to see only 25 reviews! I’ve lived in the area over 20 years and this is the best fish and chips I’ve had since living here. The food is freshly cooked and tastes. Amazing. Although there is a Fish and Chip shop just 400 mts away from my house I continue to use Batterfly. We always have a large Cod and a Haddock. The fish always smells so good and is cooked to perfection the way we ask for it to be done. This is a family run business and the service is always great and friendly. The shop is always spotless and the prices fair. There is even reduced prices on Wednesdays for Senior Citizens! Not to be missed.
