I put 4 stars for atmosphere as no sitting area but not necessary as you'd just want to take your food to enjoy!! Super polite and friendly staff and best chips i had ❤️

Well it was our 1st time here for our fish and chips.... what can I say??....absolutely beautiful. We could not fault anything at all. I've worked and managed fish and chip shops over the years and not been a patch on these. Well done guys, we'll definitely be back soon x

Consistently high quality food and exceptional service. They do it right.

Went here as I'd read they had just won an award. I ordered the small fish and chips, onion rings & curry sauce for collection. It was ready when I arrived & still hot when I got home (10 minute drive). The fish & chips, although 'small', was still a good plateful & very good quality & really tasty. The onion rings were ok but I'd probably not have them again. Overall, I can see why they won an award & I'll definitely call again.

Ordered fish and chips and a fish for a specific time to pick up and meal ready for time stated.When I got home I was amazed at the size of portions and can honestly say they were the best I have tasted and my husband agreed.Well done !!!!!!

Nice fish but haddock is expensive and only one size (halfway between a small and medium). Chips are very good. Service quick and friendly.

Rang ahead and ordered for collection Small cod and chips £5.60 excellent value. Food was freshly cooked and tasted good. These have recently been awarded County Durham fish shop of the year. 5* Food hygiene aswell which is a must when serving food.

Great chippy best in the area. Always great fish and the price is good considering how much it costs at chippys theses days. Had a takeaway one large cod and chips and two small all placed in handing boxes with compartments to separate the fish and chips (on the large only) Staff a friendly and cook your fish there and then so it is steaming when you open the box. We only go here if we want a chippy now which isn't often enough Definite must try.

Think this is fair considering the quality you are getting. You can't get fish and chips like this elsewhere. All of the staff, including the owner, are very nice and welcoming.

Reasonably priced, large portion and friendly service. Quite handy if you are staying at Durham grange campsite.

We go here regularly and it's always really tasty, cooked fresh and the staff are friendly. Offering a half portion of fish and chips is great because a full portion is huge.

Haddock and chips were some of the best I've ever had. Friendly staff added to the experience. A little pricey but given the increasing price of raw product and increased energy costs or was still value for money.

First visit to this chippy, portions are a very gd size, was fried while I waited was still pipping hot when I got home. The staff are lovely and welcoming the fish and chips was lovely, for me I'd say much better than bells I'd definitely visit again.

This used to be our go to chip shop. But with the world of prices. It has become our now and again treat.

After weeks of getting the same fish and chips and fish bites and chips at the price of £9.70 this week I was charged £11.60. I rang for an explanation and was told the prices had gone up in June but I told him that last week at the begining of November I payed £9.70 not £11.60. He then told my the facebook page has the wrong price's on the page.

This beats North Shields for quality and quantity..absolutely gorgeous. Covid safe and compliant Will return...probably my go to from now on.

Called tonight.First visit. The staff seemed disorganized with the payment system that was in place causing arguments among themselves. My order was wrong and had to point it out but did get an apology.When it came to collection time I was asked to pay but had done so already..This area needs to get sorted and they should have a more up to date system than just a pen and paper in this day and age or better communication between staff members. The place is very modern and clean and all the food is freshly cooked and tasty. Portion size is good however have knocked off one star as the fish was a bit greasy.A suggestion is just to have an extra layer of absorbent paper inside the takeaway carton as most of the other fish and chip shops do. Would still return for a future visit.

Very nice fish and chip shop. Looks like everything cooked to order so might be a bit of a wait but in our case worth it. The fish was large and a good portion of chips. The only downside was my spam fritter was greasy.
