Bath on the Beach in Bath and North East Somerset

I booked a hen party here and payed for a party package for 22 of us. The staff were beyond brilliant, from helping me arrange it, impeccable and friendly service, to even having to hunt for my purse that I stupidly left in a bag of rubbish. What a moron I am. We all had the best time. Atmosphere was excellent too and it just felt lovely and laid back. I'll finish the essay with a massive thank you to all of the staff who endured 22 (increasingly annoying as the night went on) cowgirls.

Nice place but food and staff attitude make it a bit disappointing.

Not sure how you order food! The website has a photo of a menu hidden behind another photo on the food and drink page but it doesn't open up and it's too blurry to zoom in on. No other mechanism to order on website. There were two physical menus on site but both were being studied by other people. No-one at the bar or food shack seemed interested. Just gave up as it really shouldn't be that difficult.

I was disappointed with this summers offering of food. Seasoned Fries were unimaginative and lacked seasoning. Jerk Gravy was not what I expected for £5. 28ml paper cup serving! Prefer last years offerings of fries and pizzas.

I have been 3 times in the last week and each time they have closed early. 50 to 60 this evening was apparently too few to justify staying open until the advertised closing time. Not even a warning of last orders either

Rude door staff , awful food do not order the nachos, cold liquid cheese , runny guacamole . Runny salsa it was cold , actually tasted worse than it looked if possible, we Arrived about 5pm and had a very well behaved child with us , at 7.05 we were asked to leave after getting a round of drinks in , the reason no children after 7 we were not informed of this when we arrived , so while we were trying to finish our drinks quickly, at 7.10 we were then told by a very rude doorman that we had to leave our drinks and go . Working in hospitality my self I was appalled at the food and staff.

Very disappointing visit today 👿. We were ask to leave shortly after 7.00pm in the middle of our celebration time by security which told us children not allowed to stayed here after 7.00. No one informed us before or when we entered and there is no information about this anywhere. It was so rude. We didnt expecting this on open air space and time. You need to change your advertise on website for : " open for all to enjoy excluding children " !!! So bad.Not coming back there anymore. Also nachos terrible, cold with no taste and no salt shakers for chips!

The experience as a whole was alright. Drinks were expensive, which wasn’t surprising. Just stay away from the food which was awful synthetic junk.

I love such oases of relaxation in the middle of the city. Such places for holidays without even leaving the city ;-) there is a great atmosphere, there is a beach, there is a bar and snacks. A must visit place in Bath!

Alas it was raining when we went but it was a great concept and we made the most of everything. Staff were friendly. Cocktails were extremely expensive.

Really great outside venue. Not available all year round but when it is and the weather holds out there's no better place. Also dog friendly!!

It’s a novel idea, which I think is why I’m rating it so highly as the service was okay (with a couple of standout people) and the portaloos, though a high standard, we’re not the best maintained. Flies everywhere with empty soap bottles etc. I can’t comment on prices as I was there for a work party, but the drinks were decent and the majority of the food looked tasty!

Food and drinks are fine, but the best part is the vibe! Best place to go with a group of friends during the summer, cuz they've got different games you can play (completely free) like table tennis, jenga and cornhole. Looks very pretty even during sunset.

Such a cute place right near the centre of bath - a lot quieter on week days so I’d highly recommend coming then especially if you want a go at free table tennis!! Quesadillas and aperols are 10/10

This place is sick! Feels like an actual beach! Shoutout to the staff for quickly fixing my drink when I ordered the wrong one for my partner! Definitely recommend the rum punch and pork tacos! The only thing missing was the sun! Cheers guys!

Stunning place, stunning vibes. Went down last Saturday and it was so busy, really vibrant atmosphere. Its even nicer on a weekday though, I visit every year and each year it gets better. I love that all the games are free now too!!!! Although I miss the pizza I have to admit the tacos are stunning 🤩🤩😘😘

Such a lovely idea. I’ve come here a few years now and it’s been great. I love the fact that there are games to play, and the relaxed vibe where you can go up and order drinks and food whenever.

Gave a good (5*) review last year. Unfortunately, things have gone downhill since. Still a really nice beer garden location but service has gone really bad now. Long waits and staff ignoring customers. It was never cheap but now cocktails are £10 and loaded fries £7-10 (for a smaller portion than last year). Come on, with that setting and quite limited overheads that feels like a real rip off. The drinks prices are at the level of higher end bars in Bath. And that is after recent price rises. At least you get a service for these prices elsewhere in Bath.

Lovely relaxed atmosphere. Slow service at the bar area but table service available through QR code on table. Food looked very good.

Absolutely loved this bar. We could chill with our dog there and the staff were so lovely and friendly. The music was perfect for relaxing. Toilet facilities were clean. We really enjoyed ourselves. People in Bath are so much more friendlier than Londoners. Thank you for the great time.

Lovely place to have a cheeky pint and a nice lunch. Sandy, beach huts, bean bags - relaxed. Only thing missing is an actual beach!

Nice atmosphere but fairly pricey

Bar staff stole a real and valid ID from my friend incredible amount of incompetence. Not to mention that fact this is quite literally against the law. Nice one you mingers

Nice place and all but took a mates ID for no reason and refused to give it back. The bar staff are rude and inconsiderate of the paying customers too.

Very nice area to relax in. However, the staff are useless and incompetent with taking orders and payments. Additionally, they are unable to depict the difference between fake and real IDs and going as far as to keep them even after adequate proof has been given.

Barstaff are complete and utterly incompetent at their jobs, can’t tell the difference between a real and fake ID. I’m ashamed that I put money behind the bar.

Great place to chill have a pizza beer and cocktails

I brought my family here - including (with a bit of trepidation) my elderly mother. It was great - they all loved it. Great surroundings, lovely chilled atmosphere and on the Sunday afternoon, it felt like the atmosphere was steadily building. The kids had loads to do, the service was good (although drinks a bit pricey) and my mum just chilled and people-watched with a couple of glasses of Pimms.

The food was really delicious and the price of a mock tail jug was great for 3 people but the food is very expensive and I would say the event is just average. Sandy, lots of people and loud music. I don’t want to bash it but I think there are some better beer gardens out there. It was fun for children though

Incredible atmosphere, especially when it’s warm and sunny (unfortunately it wasn’t very often this year, was quite rare). Some fun activities to do, I would hope to see more than table tennis and cornhole though. Drinks are a bit more expensive than standard pub rates.

Place was brilliant. Cane to bath on a trip and was a good touch. I think the bar lady was called Gemma and she only added to the experience.

A tropical beach in Bath, how would that work? Well it does. There is sand, various activities, cocktails (and mocktails), tennis and scrumptious food, perfect for waiting for or after a game of mini golf. However, my only advice would be to visit on a day where there was a low chance of rain, as I imagine it would be much less enjoyable in cold weather.

Became a local for a while. Loads of activities like table tennis and others. Cool atmosphere. Make sure it's not raining and it's more expensive than most.

Visit this place for crazy golf. You can't book except if you turn up half an hour earlier and put your name down.

Good overall, spirit sizes aren't clear though so no idea whether our g&t was 25ml or 35ml and single or double size

Great outside venue to enjoy some cocktails. I have visited twice and love it very relaxing, very efficient table service using the app on the table. Lovely food and very friendly staff. Went in the evening as well and it was like sitting on a beach somewhere far away, I know we were especially lucky that evening as it stayed very warm. Highly recommend if you are visiting Bath before it closes in August. I did book but their is plenty of tables and deckchairs if you want to just just turn up, if you want some shade would suggest booking.

Has a lovely vibrant feel to it. Several games to play to pass time varied seating options both in the sun and the shade. Excellent place to wait for a round of mini golf. Only hindrance is drinks were rather slow to be made and staff didn't appear overly familiar with which table numbers were where.

Really lovely place! Nice staff! Lots of fun (free) activities to do! The golf course (which you do need to pay for) is fantastic! We had a great time moving around the 18 sections! Overall a great great place to go! The only thing is the wheelchair/pushchair access is quite hidden and hard to find!

Food and cocktails nice but very overpriced. No cutlery with nachos and chicken tenders. Told to use the QR code to order but no other explanation given.

Great fun on a sunny afternoon and even when not so sunny. Staff are lovely. Pizza tastes nice. Great if you can combine with tennis, mini golf, watching the footie or just cocktails and Prosecco. Kids welcome until 6pm. Oh and an ice cream van nearby too!

Utterly terrible Despite visiting Bath on the beach last year and having a good time, this year it was a completely different story. To summarise our main issues: Food: The pizza crust was well cooked, but the base was raw. Not sure how this occurred. The cheese on the chips was congealed and could be peeled off in one lump. Not worth the money at all. Also charged extra for the Vegan option for Nachos, which was made vegan by removing the sour cream. There were also no jalapeños for some reason. Toilets: No toilet paper. No hand towels. No hand soap. A complete disaster considering the pandemic. The cleaning sheet was displayed, but hadn’t been written on. Ping-pong: £5 to rent 2 bats and a ball? Daylight robbery. Surely there is better system for lending them out that doesn’t involve charging. Music: Terrible outdated house remixes on repeat. Heard the same songs at least 4-5 times. It’s so easy to just put on a longer playlist, why not do it? Seating: Seat was made out of pallets and was either broken or just terribly designed. My seat reclined at a 45 degree angle. Why? An individual in our group payed the £10 booking fee meaning complaining would have been socially problematic. There were also so many issues that it would have been impossible to rectify all of them. Avoid Bath on the Beach.

Friendly staff, but beer tastes watered down and is expensive. Best bet is a can of Red Stripe for £4!

Walked in walked out. Got seated on a table and there was so many wasps we left (I'm not talking a couple there were 6 wasps on the table alone and that was without what was buzzing around our heads. The kids were instantly on edge and having been stung numerous times before and reacting badly to insect bites and stings I for one was not even going to entertain the idea of a constant battle over my pint and nachos. Maybe wasp traps should be set up around the perimeter of the venue to aid in reducing the numbers of satan's demonic hellspawn.

First visit it was so busy we left & went again later when it was slightly quieter, we just played crazy golf but everyone looked like they were having a good time.

Nice novelty spot to relax for a cocktail in the sunshine. Drinks quite expensive, and quite a lot of wasps around as tables not cleaned much.

Wow...what a fantastic idea. I’m not going to say you quite feel like you’re at the beach but, for Bath, it’s close enough. Clever set up allowing you to enjoy a wide range of activities like table tennis or beach volleyball or, most likely, just hang out and enjoy the cheap cocktails and food. If I was rating the food separately, I’d give it 3 out of 5...pizza, fries, nachos and other standard items - they’re OK but that’s not why you’re there. You come here for pitchers of cocktails and the vacation atmosphere and this place delivers a 6 out of 5 on those two fronts. We’ve already been back for a second time and I wholeheartedly recommend it.

Great place for a cocktail or beer! Chilled out seating & organised layout for Covid. Place orders on your phone which are then brought to your table. Ideal for lunch with wood fired pizzas, fries & nachos.

Drinks came super fast. Really nice beach vibe, and friendly staff, a real city oasis. Margarita especially tasty. Nachos could do with a tad more cheese slightly too sauce heavy. Plenty of activities also available with table tennis, bowls and a crazy golf near by.

Every person in Bath should come here! Save even during Covid, you don't have to leave your table to order or collect food/drinks.

Great afternoon spent there. Good games and range of drinks. Nice and relaxed atmosphere but also good for families.

Went here for a staff social event. Food was tasty and a great selection of drinks. The various beach games were great fun. Only deducted a star due to the wasps but I know they can't do anything about that!
