Basmati in Carmarthenshire

Food is so delicious, especially Madras Curry. I requested madras curry with paneer which is not on the menu. They kindly customised for me. The curry has rich flavours and tasted so good. This is the best curry I had in recent times.

Sadly I tried Basmati after giving them a break, and the sauce was tasteless and not seasoned at all. I had chicken patia which is a thick tomato based sweet and sour sauce, but it tasted watery and bland. Such a shame, as it really used to be exceptional food.

Excellent food as always. Unfortunately there was a mix up with the orders ( basmati were very busy) and I received a telephone call asking us to return the order, which was extremely inconvenient ,but these things happen. My son in law returned the order promptly and was given 2 poppadoms as way of an apology. My son in law is an extremely polite person but did suggest a can of Fanta when offered a complimentary gesture however he declined once he saw that a bag of poppadoms had been added. I called basmati to discuss the matter , as I feel that 2 poppadoms is a very meagre gesture. I have enjoyed excellent customer and fantastic food from basmati for many years, however I spoke to a gentleman this evening who was unable to resolve the matter. It's a great shame as I won't be ordering again.

Have frequented Basmati for well over a decade and the food is always amazing with a wide range of choices. Service is always freindly as well. Highly recommend their chicken chilli jalfry

Amazing Indian! Been a loyal customer of 8 years! Tried others locally but this is the best! Food is tasty with generous portions. Staff are great and always give good recommendations if you want to try something new!

Fantastic. It’s been a while since we’ve ordered but as always the guys at Basmati have smashed it. Beautiful food and speedy delivery time - Way quicker than it says on the app. Recommend so many things off the menu - the mushroom rice and Chicken Shakuti is delightful

We’ve ordered from here for years but recently moved and tried a different indian takeaway for a change. It really highlighted just how bland the food has gotten at Basmati. It used to be lovely, but over time it’s just gotten more and more tasteless. I often found myself adding salt for one, and all I could really taste was onion and tomato. No herbs and no spices really stood out. The chicken pakoras are nice, the naans are nice, the mixed starters and things are nice. The service is good. But the curries/mains are just meh. You won’t get sick at least and there’s a decent amount of food, but they’re nothing to write home about flavour wise. They’ve also gotten oiler with time as well. Give it a miss imo.

Good choice of vegetarian food. Clean kitchen, great tasting currys and Always welcoming.

Needs to understand that delivery counts when its the sole reason for a order, within half hour awesome, within a hour ok, anything more bloody pathetic... 2 hours later thinking of going to mcdonalds Update when it turned up 2 and a half hours after ordering THEY DIDNT EVEN GET IT BLOODY RIGHT

Absolute shocking experience never had service like it. 3 HOURS for delivery. Not one phone call. Was told 3 times they're on the way. Should be ashamed !!!!! And still noone knows where the food is ? CMON GUYS! BE BETTER .

One of the worst Indian takeaway's I have ever had the displeasure of eating. Absolutely tasteless, with nothing remotely Indian about it. Ordered a Kochi chicken from the chef's specials section on the menu, nothing special about it, full of onions and tomatoes and not a hint of any spices used . Dont waste your money, buy a jar of pataks as it will actually taste more Indian than the rubbish sold here.

If you like flavour probably best to give this a place a miss. The Madras I had tasted like chicken soup. I am slightly perplexed at how many good reviews there are. Dwbis, their closest rival is much better. And if you go further afield to Ammanford they are better too. The two pluses I could give them is that it was cooked and they deliver, they doesn't make up for the flavourless food though.

Order was 45 mins late when it turned up it was cold and item missing waited another 25 mins for another delivery. 1 meal was uneatable tasted like leather

Ordered here for the last 2 weekends. Have been going to dubis prior to this and honestly dubis doesn't even come close to what I have had off these the last 2 weekends. Really enjoyed both meals .

Used to be good food I don't know if they have changed owners but last time we had food there was no flavour with any food.

I love chicken korma but the sauce is disgusting it's runny it's gritty and bland and to top it off the oil on top was disgusting my rice was over cooked very pulped , used to be so good but definitely goon down hill

Great local Indian Takeaway, food excellent and mostly Gluten Free so my coeliac husband could have a takeaway for the first time since he was diagnosed two years ago. Thank you Basmati, Cross Hands

Waiting 30 minutes for food .its too long to wait

I can't fault the service and price. However ... and this may just be my palate, and 6 years living in Southall, but I'm finding all curries taste the same. We need something new and authentic in the uk.

First time having a meal from hear tasted ok just a shame there was very little chicken in my korma the rest was fine.

We came to Cross Hands for shooting all the way from London. I can honestly say that Basmati Indian Takeaway was one of the nicest indian takeaways we have had. The curries were full of flavour, had a strong kick in the Jalfrezi too. The staff there are genuinely kind and really friendly. They gave us free popodoms too! In all my years of eating out, I can honestly say that this place is the best. 11/10 Hope to come back soon!!!

Made an order over the phone for delivery, when I recieved the order there was missing parts and incorrect items... phone straight away told they would correct the order straight away... 45 minutes later and nothing by that time food was cold. Not very happy at all.

Ordered the family meal deal. What a waste of money. I may have well just burnt the two twenty pound notes. The Food was so tasteless, they obviously don't use any spices in the making of the curry's. I don't know how they managed to do it. To get chicken and lamb to have no flavour. I spent almost £40. But wished I had never bothered. Oh, it was cold when it arrived too. Will never use them again

Ordered from here last night, I had a korma and my husband had a Bhuna, the chicken was still pink so I didn’t eat mine( I’m pregnant) still wouldn’t have eaten it though. Tasteless and bland, same with my husbands, worse Indian in the area. Nice staff but will not be returning.

Always top class food from Basmati

Ordered food over the telephone, very kind man helped take the food to the car. Unfortunately on arriving home we found the food was cold, lukewarm at best. Rang to complain however they were not interested in resolving the issue. A rather expensive mistake, I will not be returning there.

Food is nice. So bad at the estimates of how long it will take though. So best giving them extra time.

Worst curry I ever had,meat is hard and grainy. Rang to complain in a calm manner and they were very rude in return.

This was the worst Indian meal we have experienced. We were looking forward to really good and varied meals from this restaurant as it has been very good. We had 7 mains and 3 starters. The 2 prawn biryani were tasteless. There was no heat at all in the curry, not even mild. The 2 prawn rogan josh were the same. The prawns were ungenerous and tastless. Sad as we had our Aussie relations with us and it was supposed to be a special New Years Eve dinner. We have learned a lesson and will head to Ammanford in future. What a waste of money.

Absolutely horrible food. I had the mixed starter to begin. It was supposed to be chicken tikka, lamb tikka, sheek kebab and an onion bhaji. To start with, there was no lamb tikka. The chicken tikka was not fresh and had obviously been cooked well in advance, if not the night before. The sheek kebab was inedible, all dried out and foul. My main was supposed to be a reasonably hot curry. It tasted like pieces of chicken in gravy granules and had no flavour at all. We had a bad experience with Basmati before, but were assured that the food had improved. It hasn't.
