I ordered the bruschetta and expected as you do fresh red onion with everything else you would expect but unfortunately it arrived with really sweet caramelised red onion and I just couldn’t eat it. I requested a refund and this was done at once which was great

With this being one of the only takeaways that delivers to Portesham, this will be our new go to. This is far better than domino’s, papa johns and all that, it’s real pizza! We ordered last night and it was incredible!

We were drawn to Basilico by its high 4.6-star rating, but perhaps we should have considered whether any Italians had reviewed it. Intrigued by the Neapolitan dialect pizza names, we ordered three pizzas, mistakenly assuming they were made by Italians. However, the menu included questionable combinations like chicken and pineapple, raising doubts. Unfortunately, limited dining options in Warmwell led us to proceed with the order. Upon delivery, we were sorely disappointed. The pizzas were overly salty, cardboard-like, and utterly flavorless. It's baffling how one can attempt to replicate authentic Italian pizza without a deep understanding of Italian culinary traditions. Italians have a rich food heritage that can only be truly appreciated and replicated through generations of experience and passion. The side salad was equally disappointing, laden with excessive herbs and spices. And at £16 per pizza, the pricing is exorbitant. We strongly advise against ordering from Basilico. It's a disservice to Italian cuisine. It’s a robbery. Never ever again

Firstly I'll say I love the food from here, it's always so fresh. Sadly delivery is always so poor. Food was cold, driver got lost, which is a little annoying as clearly my detailed instructions were not read. Whilst on phone to him I explained to stay on main road as I was standing in the middle of it with a torch but instead ignored this and insisted I speak to someone he had flagged down on the road. Was given complimentary can of drink which had been dropped and was flat!

Great experience! The food was amazing, plenty of gluten free & vegan options. The parmihiana di melanzane was really good & the tomato sauce tasted incredible. Overall great experience and great value for the food. Thank you for a lovely evening!

Impromptu dinner out and so pleased we did. Absolutely delicious bruschetta and pizza made to order in their pizza oven. I would recommend upgrading to Buffalo mozzarella - definitely worth it! Would highly recommend

Pizza was ok, garlic bread not so good, just garlic salt on dough not so tasty. It’s was all ok but not great and was late. Mushy banana and Nutella calzone not to great either.

Booked for my birthday and just overall disappointed. I love a cocktail and they had them on the menu - great! But the bar wasn’t available and only wine and beer was. So I thought i’d have a coke instead. There is coke and coke zero listed on the menu. I got served coke zero which I wouldn’t have ordered. So birthday drink was a disaster. My pizza sadly was missing a topping so was remade. As the pizzas didn’t come out all at the same time (which I do understand due to them being fresh) by the time my replacement came two of our guests had almost finished. I’m a slow eater anyway, so just felt quite awkward. Pizza was nice so 2 stars not 1. Sadly the first was cooked perfectly and my replacement was slightly under as was rushed. Just overall sad I came here.

My wife and I called in at 6.30 on Friday, immediately given a table. Shortly after 2 larger parties came in but we had already ordered. The waiter was excellent as was the food and we had a really positive experience. It was also my birthday so an excellent choice! 🤩

Basilico in Dorchester is a fantastic spot for pizza lovers! The pepperoni pizza was delicious—perfectly crisp crust, flavorful sauce, and just the right amount of spice. The atmosphere was cozy, although the music was a bit loud at first. However, when we asked, the staff quickly lowered the volume, making our dining experience even more enjoyable. Great food and attentive service—I'll definitely be back!

Delicious authentic Italian pizza

I did get called by the delivery driver but it was still an hour later after the courier had been recorded as left the store and I’m still waiting for my food to arrive

Dreadful. Lovely staff but the food was very very bland. Our two pizzas tasted of nothing. We believe this is because the ingredients were being taken out from the freezer. A waste of money, £65. There was no kids menu so we were charged £15 for a single piece of chicken. I've never written such a review like this before but don't want others to experience this. The food needs to be fresh not frozen. Very very disappointing.

I’m from London the staff are fully unprepared and don’t know their pizzas and couldn’t explain the menu unfortunately there seems to be a language barrier which didn’t help . it doesn’t represent an Italian pizzeria especially a brand . Restaurant had a family eating a pizza and a couple waiting like us . After ordering the pizza’s with a bit of confusion on what VE GF & V stood for we orders a double pepperoni pizza and margarita with artichokes. 45 min later our pizzas came out both with artichokes, I picked them out the pizza and told them not to make a new one . The other couple had raw mushrooms and took probably 15 mins to get a new one while her partner ate half . They apologised about the pizza then came back later to see if we enjoyed our pizzas lol. The tables were never cleared the hour we were there . No discount or any thing was offered for their poor slow service with me getting the wrong pizza and still eating . 2 stars as the pizzas were ok but nothing like the pictures shown and definitely no double layer of cheese and the pizzas are more than pizza express . Worth a miss , read the reviews while in there and doesn’t represent the basilico brand more a poor copy …..

Have to say having been there before and had a thoroughly enjoyable evening returned and had a completely different experience. The drinks we ordered weren't available and no other substitute one was offered . My starter didn't arrive .The staff were unable to tell us the difference in our pizzas and the difference between a gluten free , vegetarian and a vegan pizza when a pizza was ordered. Certainly wont be going back sorry.

Visited with a group of five and enjoyed amazing wood-fired pizzas, starters, and drinks for just £86. The pizzas were exceptional, and the prices were very pocket-friendly. Cozy atmosphere and great service. A must-visit in Dorchester!

Piping hot and tasty as always!

The service was terrible. It was like being trapped in a horror movie where you just waited and waited and waited. The service took an excruciating long time for everything and it wasn’t even busy. The pizza itself was good but the tiramisu was awful. I would never eat here again.

Delicious pizzas! We took Grandma and two children and we all loved it. Puds were gorgeous too. Staff very polite and friendly. Very reasonable, will come back next year when we come back on holiday. Thanks for a great meal.

Yet again incredibly late and then cold on arrival. Two hours from order to delivery; got a notification that it was on it's way at 20:12 but took 30 minutes and takeaway is only 10 minutes away. No compensation and little apology. Won't be giving Basilico a third chance I'm afraid.

V friendly staff but service slow. Regretted not ordering pizzas as they looked good passing by for takeaway deliveries. My aubergine dish had one, raw, thick slice of one piece of aubergine in a sea of tomato sauce (tasted like tinned tomatoes with minimal seasoning). I might be tempted to try their takeaway pizza but unlikely.

A pizza with an excellent base. The margherita was fabulous but on a Sunday evening during opening hours the service time wasn't the best: don't be in a hurry. As an Italian I take pizza seriously: on the menu there is the one with pineapple along with a jumble of other ingredients whose flavors we are not used to. Excellent pizza, dimensions that in Italy are for the children's menu, high prices for the quantity. I didn't understand if they added the cost of the carton for takeaway or in the menu the flavors are excluding taxes and we're talking about 21 pounds for 2 baby daisies. Pizzeria not very Italian but with excellent intentions.

Ok. Read reviews and went looking for a nice little Italian. Sad experience that ruined our night. Restaurant empty on arrival. Service: 40 minutes for drinks to arrive. Drinks need to arrive TOGETHER. Cutlery in tin cans on table: unwashed. Toilets filthy and dripping under sink. Two parties arrived who had booked and turned away as staff not managing bookings.

Delivery was 2 hours late but when driver arrived he offered a FULL refund and was very friendly - I still give service 5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ thank you so much!

Very nice pizza, we live a bit of a distance so we pop them in the air fryer for 5 minutes & they come out beautiful.

We went there for an early Valentine's day meal due to work patterns. The staff were so attentive and even stayed open until we wanted to leave. We didn't know they were closing. The food was exquisite. Reasonably priced. If I had any room left I would of had dessert. But as it was we had a sharing board, 2 mains, a bottle of wine and two beers. Would highly recommend going and giving it a go. We will be going back. Thank you ladies

Awesome Pizza, even on a busy Saturday night! Super driver, who got the food here so quickly, it was like it had just been taken out of the oven.

Although our delivery was late it was due to no fault of their own (car trouble) they are so lovely and polite and fully explained to us what was happening. Apologised so much but didn’t need to. Food is absolutely sensational, so fresh and so tasty!

Ordered and never received. Rang restaurant twice told both times it was out for delivery and “sorry we are very busy” gave up after it was 2 hours late and sorted something else out. Really poor.
