Basecamp Cafe - Towsure in Sheffield

I've been here a couple of times for a coffee and tried it out for lunch with my dad, we both had panini's which come with chips and salad. Everything was fresh and tasty, very reasonably priced and they do a coffee/cake deal. The chocolate orange cake was yummy. Best place locally to eat.

Absolutely the best English breakfast around. Great service and friendly staff. We will definitely be back.

I purchased a Groupon Afternoon Tea to use at Base Camp. The first time I tried to book I was told the chef was attending a funeral and so Base Camp would be closed. Today I tried to book to use the Groupon tomorrow and was to.d the cafe is closed until further notice and to apply to Groupon for a refund. I was made to feel like a nuisance rather than a valued paying customer. The man I spoke with seemed irritated by the situation but none of it was of my making. I suggest they stick with caravans as catering is not their forte.

Went to grab a coffee and cake whilst I did some research on something in Towsure. Ordered an American and a slice of sticky toffee cake. Asked for the Wi-Fi code as there is no phone signal in here, service is lovely, they’re all very friendly and polite and offered to bring my coffee over when it was ready. All good so far. Started on my cake - I’m not overreacting when I say it was like a brick! I had to take it back but they were very happy to swap it for me, and I asked for the freshest cake and they suggested the brownie. Sat back down but then the Wi-Fi wouldn’t connect so when I asked the you girl if it was on, she said it was a bit hit and miss. So I couldn’t do my research. Decided to eat my cake but again, my fork wouldn’t even make a dent in it! For a fresh cake, it was rock solid! By this time I’d had enough, took the cake back, asked for a refund and left. Didn’t even touch my coffee. Didn’t make my purchase in Towsure either as I needed to do some research first and this place doesn’t have phone signal.

We ate here using a Groupon voucher which was very good value. The service by Ruth was friendly and professional. The food prepared by the chef, James was excellent. Plenty of freshly prepared and well-filled sandwiches, scones served with jam and butter - we would have preferred cream. A nice selection of small cakes and macaroons. Tea or coffee - maybe would have been nice to offer a re-fill? But still very good. We couldn’t eat it all and were provided with a box to take home. We really enjoyed ourselves with great service and fresh food. Would definitely eat here again.

I purchased a Groupon Afternoon Tea for the newly refurbished Base Camp at Towsure and it did not disappoint. The sandwiches were varied and freshly made. The scones were just the right size accompanied by plenty of jam and cream. The cakes were extremely tasty and plentiful, so much so that we took some home with us in a box provided. The staff were attentive and kept refreshing our tea pot. I would thoroughly recommend this to every one.

Called back in for breakfast after seeing menu week before ordered eggs florentine did not expect much as its only a cafe in towsure but it was amazing how good it was have eaten in 5* hotels and cruse ships all around the world but this was probably better than anything I Have had before.

Called in to Towsure Holme Lane Sheffield and noticed that the cafe had had a facelift and revamp. Pleasant friendly staff. Lovely creamy coffee and tea and the teacakes were large and round - would have liked softer butter to spread on them though to make it easier. Will definately call again fas the cakes looked lovely.

Absolutely quality Bacon Egg Sausage Sandwich. Friendly staff, highly recommended. Won’t hesitate in going back.

Popped into a hidden jem today. Located inside towsure is a brilliant little cafe. Friendly staff recently under new management and great well priced food. A must visit place for any hungry shoppers.

Visited towsure shop looking at camping equipment and ended with a call to the in house cafe. I had a baked potato with baked beans and my friend had a large BLT. The BLT was massive with loads of bacon.My baked potatoe and beans which came with salad was freshly cooked generous in proportions and very tasty. The staff were friendly and attentive. A good value cafe which l will definitely use again.

Had breakfast and breakfast sandwiches quite a few times.....and there’s a good reason for that ! It’s excellent.....good portions, very tasty, cooked fresh to order, nice staff and not too expensive Most of the pies pastries and cakes are made by the owner Indeed ..last 2 visits the flapjack was being mixed then baked by the owner while we were there and check out the quiche Try it ..won’t be disappointed

From the reviews here I was expecting to like it more. We chose jacket potatoes, the breakfasts were a bit overpriced- another local option my wife tried recently was much cheaper. The food was OK, the drinks were OK, the staff were OK- nothing exceptional or particularly friendly. The cafe is in a bit of a weird location next to the tills so it didn't feel that relaxed. Not a bad place to stop if you are already visiting the shop but I wouldn't recommend making a special trip for it.

After a long night out, I really needed a delicious well-priced breakfast with a calm yet comforting atmosphere. Base Camp Café ticks all the boxes for me and many of my friends. A 10/10 for food and customer service, Tracy was very welcoming and put on a fantastic spread for the entire group. I highly recommend this place and am very likely to return. Thank you for a fantastic morning!

This is a great please to eat, especially on a budget, fab home made cakes and great breakfast, they seem to have different Specials on the board. Very friendly and helpful staff will visit again soon

Popped in to look at the Christmas gifts and was really surprised by the friendliness, cleanliness and just how cheap the food was. Saying it's cheap in no way detracts from the quality and quantity of food. Will 100% definitely return.
