Let me stat by saying this review is for the WOMAN who is working in the kitchen today! ( Saturday 28th December 2024). I called in morning to place an order and I was told I could pick it up on the agreed on. I showed up 13:45 and immediately the woman who was in the kitchen stated saying “ what and who ordered this type of order”? Why would anyone order this? And she kept going on and on. So I left without getting my order. If the restaurant can not take an order they should let people know. I never 👎 got an apology. SHE NEVER apologized for what she said. I can understand Somali because I AM SOMALI MYSELF….

Good food and great atmosphere :)

Excellent food, quick service, and a warm atmosphere. The staff was kind and every dish was perfect. A great spot for both casual dining and special occasions.

My partner ordered the biriyani here today and there was live maggots in the food , his sister has had to now go hospital because she is violently sick

This is the best place for Traditional Somalian HALAL food. All the foods are been made by skilled and professional cooks. The taste of the food is very tasty and their service is mind-blowing! Giving five stars for the Food quality, service, price and manner! Highly recommended!!

Recently my family decided to try Somalia cuisine. This was recommended by family and friends. Barwaqo café is located in Leyton E10 . This hidden Somalia restaurant makes some delicious dishes. My family and I had this lunch feast over the weekend and tried few dishes. I would also like to mention the portions are super generous and prices are reasonable. The quality of the food is really good , all dishes taste delicious and authentic, the rice is so light and fluffy , and if you want to discover the delights of Somalia cuisine, I highly recommend Barwaqo café in Leyton London E10 . Also if you ever planning not to cook and want to have big family and friends over. Try this place and they will look after you. ½ Lamb Shoulder – mouth-watering meat falling off the bone and super tasty Rice – nice light and fluffy, comes with salad and green and red chilli sauce. Pesto Chicken Pasta bake , yummy 😋 Thinly sliced Steak meat very flavoursome Roasted Chicken The Sukhar beef cubes must try Spinach dish Saucy butter chicken with a twist

Wow what a lovely breakfast I had this morning from Barwaaqo restaurant. Everything was fresh and delicious

Love the food, made fresh and has a lot of soul

Food is understated. It’s tasty and well flavoured and leaves you wanting more. My adult son took me to this cafe and ordered (I don’t even know what he specifically ordered) but when the food arrived it was a large portion of seasoned rice with salad and a large piece of roasted lamb on the bone, for us to share. The rice was well flavoured as was the lamb and it was served with a smile.

Ordered for Eid and it was the biggest disappointment ever. Had a lot of people over and the food put us down. The rice is tasteless and overcooked. The meat was tender but the taste is horribly off, it tasted like it was cooked with fish in the same oven. Would never recommend this place for occasions, it doesn’t live up to the standards like other Somali restaurants.

Food was excellent and waiting time was short, price was very reasonable for the portion, authentic tasty traditional Somalian food!

Avoid this restaurant my family and I had food poisoning hygiene rating on food standard agency is 0 Avoid avoid avoid !!! Food was expensive no drinks or cutlery provided, dirty tables, slow service I Ordered rice and meat shank and suqaar the rice was hard and the meat was dry and smelly. Place is in serious need of help very unsanitary and very loud and shouting from customers and staff. Please avoid

This restaurant never disappoints with its food. The food and customer service is always 10/10. Best Somali restaurant in east London. The only downside is that they don't have seatings for women. Take away is ideal! If you want to get their delicious rice and succulent meat go-between 11 am - 2 pm, after this time, you are lucky if you find meat.

Rice is neat & basmati quality rice & meat is soft . very tasty.(4.5 out of 5) Price is 16£ worth it .. other places one pound less .. rice is very hard & cheap quality rice plus meat is very hard. Please try and feel the difference. please look the picture .Good yummy ..

Cheap food £6 rice and lamb meat or beef steak and fish also served here . It has friendly staff and patience.

Fresh and very cheap,£6 for a lam and rice and you get extra rice if you not full.
