Permanently closed unfortunately. A sad farewell but it was always a comfortable and friendly place to relax at lunchtime.

Tuvimos una comida fantástica después de probar fuera del manguito mientras el coche. La comida es excelente. Bien presentada y en raciones muy generosas. La casa blanca es fácil de beber. El servicio era atento y divertido sin ser intrusivo para una cena romántica. parejas Tienen un desierto son una maravilla.

He utilizado este restaurante familiar italiano a lo largo de los años, ya que está cerca de mi madre.

Very enjoyable evening with friends. All dishes ordered were plentiful, well cooked & very tasty. The fact that they take tastecard makes it a no brainer.

Guaranteed a really great Italian meal, friendly efficient staff. Food is fresh and authentic. My children are well catered for despite not having a children's menu.

Siendo el primer cliente de la noche puede ser un poco irritante, incluso a lugares que han estado antes, pero no teníamos necesidad de preocuparse. Recientemente trasladado a la zona y por recomendación de un amigo que lo probamos. No se dejen engañar por el gris exterior, la comida es deliciosa y el personal es muy amable. Este lugar debería ser más transitadas. Las comidas eran encantadores, costillas increíble para empezar, así como calamares y brushetta. Los platos principales muy sabroso, con un buen toque arrabiata de chili, pasta con marisco y carbonara. Tiramisu es preciosa y caseros como con todos sus desiertos. Precios razonables.

Vivió en Highams park por 3 años y no pude visitar este lugar. Me hubiera gustado que hubiera venido antes!

Visited La Trevi as it takes Gourrmet Society card on a Friday where most don't - was greeted by co=-owner Marco(?) a friendly face we remembered for 15 years ago at the Bel-Sit Woodford Green!Had a fantastic lunch which warranted a sleep in the afternoon - Rossini was out of this world.We will be going back to try other dishes soon!

We visit this restaurant on an occasional basis. Two picky teenage girls enjoy the food here- my youngest loves the meatballs! The service is great, a true local feel. All the food is high standard.

I would say staff gave excellent service. Restaurant was not busy. In my opinion not good value for money.

It is a very friendly little restaurant very authentic. The food is yet far the best I tasted in Italian. The staff are very friendly after trying pudding as well it was the best I have ever tasted. Although it was little pricey I have to say well worth it.

I visited on Saturday 12th December with my husband, best friend and her husband. We had a lovely meal, food was delicious, and service really good. Nothing was too much trouble. I had the spaghetti carbonara to start, and the skate in black butter and capers. Both were cooked perfect, and tasted delicious.

My wife and I went here on Valentines night for what we hoped was a romantic evening. First thing we noticed it was packed like sardines and very very noisy. Its billed as Italian but the staff are Spanish I believe. I am Italian and I tried to communicate with them but to no avail.The service was quick but not rushed, The food was generous but as usual in Italian style restaurants the emphasis is on the main part of the food, the meat or fish which in both meals was superb. But the vegetables were appalling burnt sauté potatoes that had been re-heated, carrots. (Why do Italian restaurant insist on using carrots they would not serve these in Italy)The dessert we had was Crème Brulee which was rubbish.Overall the food was fair to good, The Bar prices were outrageous 2 dry Martini's and 2 brandies £17.50.To summarise on our night out they obviously have loads of returning customers as seen this evening, but I can only say at the cost of £90 per couple it was greatly overpriced and the food did NOT reflect this high cost, Central London prices but not really up to this price. Would we return probably not. Would I recommend probably would say if there is nowhere else but I would not rush to go back.

We went here late on a Friday evening without a booking and got a table straight away. The service was excellent. both staff members were very friendly and welcoming. They have created a warm, friendly and relaxed atmosphere. The service was quick but not rushed in any way.The food was great quality Italian standards and very reasonably priced. It tasted delicious and you got a decent protion. we couldn't finish our bowls of pasta. Even the side salad was delicious. We will definitely visit again and would suggest if you are any where near the area it is definitely worth a visit.

I recently hired this venue to celebrate my 50th b/day lunch by inviting 50 guests to celebrate with me (50 for 50 lunch). I had eaten in La Trevi on a number of occasions and always found the food to be excellent quality in a warm cosy atmosphere with excellent service so decided due to these reasons and the fact that it's only 3 min walk from Highams Park Station to hire it as my venue (plus it has parking behind its premises or free parking in the Tesco opposite). Not having used it for a large function before I had no idea how things would go on the day but I had absolutely no reason to be disappointed as everything went meticulously! There is nothing I can fault. The set menu which I chose for the day had 6 choices of great starters and mains and a very wide selection of desserts, the help in setting up/decorating the restaurant prior to the event was extremely helpful and the day itself was simply a blast! Every single guest loved the food and commented on how delicious it was, they were surprised by how excellent the house wine was (when usually house wine is just average), they loved the attentiveness and fun of the service provided and many commented they have never experienced such a fun lunch in their entire lives, which I second. This was due to the lovely friendliness of La Trevi staff and for being ever helpful with my requirements for the day. I can't thank them enough for giving myself and those invited a lunch to remember. So whether for a quiet meal or for a big event I wouldn't hesitate in recommending La Trevi. ps. I don't agree with the over-priced comments by other Trip Advisor commentators. You can get a set £10 lunch which is excellent and the liver dish I had for £19 was truly delicious. You pay for good quality which is not a disappointment - Helena

Just celebrated our sister's 50th at La Trevi! The food was absolutely delicious and the welcome at La Trevi to all 50 friends and family was so warm and so extremely professional. This is a top class restaurant with a top class team. We all had a day that we'll never forget. La Trevi is a real hidden jewel in Highams Park, London. We're already planning our next family get together there.

Visited this restaurant again after visiting several times over the last few years. We have previously always had a good meal here but on this occasion it was pretty average for the price which were certainly at the high end. Hopefully the restaurant can get back to its previous high standards.

£19 for a liver dish must be a joke. Disappointing overall. It is hardly central London to charge as much. They lost me returning.

Our local, and not been for years. Decided to try it. Glad I did.Lovely food, hot and tasty. Quite generous portion sizes too.Waiting staff friendly and helpful. Offered to make anything we fancied for the vegetarian in our party, but she ended up choosing from the menu and was very satisfied. Definitely will return.

It's my local Italian and it is a shame that being in an affluent area, La Trevi has decided to serve poor food which is overpriced. The staff and owner do try but there is only so far speaking English with an Italian accent will take you. The food is bland but then so is all Italian food you say! However I ordered a steak fillet which cost over £22.00 and when it came it was such a sad sight. The piece of meat which was already small felt lost in a large plate filled scarcely with some sautéed potatoes (in rosemary!!!) and par boiled carrots and broccoli. I did not know whether to laugh or cry. A friend of mine has some pasta and he left half of it since it was boring and tasteless. The pasta was drowning in a tomato sauce.Service is very slow which is why the place seems to be favoured by the older generations, 60 plus....Dinner for two cost us over £70.

This is our local neighbourhood Italian and we absolutely love it because the food is always fantastic and believe me our family have very high standards. They have lovely 70's retro touches like all the desserts displayed in a sweet cabinet so you can admire the delicious Italian trifle and the tiramisu .Forget the traditional decor people commenting in this have kind of missed the point please do not be put off because this place is perfect . The calves liver with sage is my favourite but the specials are also lovely and the pasta is amazing . The owners are very friendly and children are especially welcomed and indulged. My young daughter adores her pasta and meatballs and always clears her plate .

A fantastic Italian resturant with an extensive menu and friendly staff. Everything I have eaten at LaTrevi over the years has been extreamly good, from pasta dishes to fish. Well worth a visit!

I am sorry but I cannot get excited about this restaurant. I found the decor rather bland. I was dining as part of a large group and perhaps that was the problem as we had to choose from a very basic and limited menu. My starter of bruschetta with tomatoes was not really up to scratch. The bread was soggy and not bruschetta-like and the tomato topping was tasteless. Could have done with some balsamic vinegar. The main course of meat lasagne was rather lacking in the meat department and the overall appearance of the dish was not appetising. I did not see any of the diners who chose pasta dishes being offered parmesan grated over their dishes. Paper serviettes instead of proper napkins and the skinniest breadsticks ever, made this restaurant come across as cheap. An overall disappointment and a restaurant I will not be rushing to return to - there are much superior Italian restaurants in the local area, Maybe I was unlucky on this particular day and perhaps evenings are better than lunchtimes. its a shame because it could be so much better!

I have frequently visited la Trevi over the years and the pasta is always first class .. The spaghetti vongolle is one of my favourites .. As is the carbonara .. In fact they are all v good .. The escalope and steaks are first class .. And if you like desserts the Italian trifle is very light .. Paco the owner is very hospitable and funny .. My only gripe is they do not have lamb on the menu ..

We often descend on this little Italian place for our family occassions and have done for years. Sometimes there are 6 of us, sometimes 20 and the service and food are always fantastic. Nothing is too much trouble and I always feel completely relaxed and at home there.The food has always been brilliant, I've never been disappointed. I love it.

The website suggests a restaurant with ambience, not so I am afraid . Decor a little dated, the carpets -wrong! Food very tasty, I had the scallops, not too much chilli as mentioned, steak well cooked. Generally good offering for Chingford area
