In the middle of nowhere this little community shop and cafe is a great place to stop. Freshly cooked bacon rolls with a tea or coffee - what a way to start the day. If you are in this area, please try to support this enterprise.

I took a friend for lunch as she had never been to Dobbies before. She wanted a cheese sandwich, white bread with two slices of white bread, no salad or coleslaw. This cost me £8.50!!. I had a tuna wrap with no salad or coleslaw and this cost £9.00!! Needless to say I will never return. I did email the Ayr store twice but did not receive a reply. I was also very sick during the night but there was a clear lack of concern from the store manager.

Had lunch here on a quiet Wednesday afternoon. Sits on a busy corner of the main street but once inside it opens into a bar area and good restaurant area and garden overlooking the river( and boatyard). Menu has a good selection of classic pub food. Took a little time for our meal to arrive but as is was freshly made this was not a problem. The boatyard burger was one of the best burgers I have had in years and my wife was delighted with the chicken pie with mash and fresh veg. The chef knows how to cook!! If you are in Girvan this place is worth a visit for the food and the view.

Me and the family visited the restaurant we had the pleasure of meeting Katy, who worked there she was very helpful and informative if she isn't the supervisor or manager she should be. Please can you ensure she gets staff recognition for her impeccable service. Thank you Katy, from Lee Kel and Fanily 😇
