I have order few many times from them because I like how they make the food but in the last few times the delivery was very bad, today I received my order after 1 hour and a half… I had to ring three times every 15 minutes and all the times they where telling me the order was on its way

Ordered food from them. Received the food after almost 2 hours, in the meantime I called them to ask for a refund and they said that they can't offer a refund. Definitely I will try another Chinese fast food. Never again with them. If you are hungry, save yourself and go somewhere else.

The best Chinese food ever. Set diner for 1 is amazing. The lady who answers the phone is very friendly as is the delivery driver

Barnsley House is the best Chinese takeaway in Barnsley, their meals are absolutely delicious. The people who work there are so lovely, and the service is really quick. 5***** all round, and I'd definitely recommend getting a delivery, or picking up food from here. XxX

Recently tried a noodle box from barnsley house and it was the best Chinese I've had in ages! Perfectly cooked noodles, flavorful sauce, and fresh ingredients made for a delightful experience. Highly recommend!

Been in tonight & ordered food, waited nearly an hour for my food, got given what i was told was my order to get home for it not to be my order!! Rang up to complain to be told they would send my order to me so sent my dad with the order they gave us and to collect my order for my order to be cold!!! Will not be ordering from here again!!!

Last night I ordered 4 courses but only 3 were delivered. All food was cold and tasteless. Will never go back and would not recommend to anyone

Worse takeaway in Barnsley. Ordered food to find my order was cold and the rest had been misplaced. When rang to get it corrected was told driver would be back with us in the next 20 minutes rang again after 30 minutes to be told he was still 20 mins away again and was still no sign of driver binned it and ordered elsewhere.

Did not enjoy the food but the dog did

Placed an order took 3 hours to turn up, called them at the 2 hour mark and they told us 20 minutes as it was currently cooking. At the 3 hour mark we phoned and canceled. Driver then turned up 5 minutes later. Won't be ordering from them again.

Best Chinese in the area. Paid 13.50 for special chow mein and ribs in bar b que sauce. Big chunks of meat and the usual 2 king prawns etc. Really satisfied with the quality. My new go to Chinese and we live in Shafton, so much better than the nearer places.

I’d give this 0 stars if I could after this order! Ordered from here for months now after changing from another local takeaway! The very last order was poor with the chicken balls doughy, but we aren’t ones to complain usually do never said anything! This time we was going to order from a different place, but decided to give this one the benefit of the doubt! What a regret! We ordered collection and it was all okay initially- until I went back for some more of the chicken curry! I bit into something which could have only been a pea or mushroom but looked like the pea- and straight away got hit by a crunchy texture between my teeth and then the most horrible taste! I spat it out straight away and had to rinse my mouth multiple times! What was spat out was all a dark green product - something that shouldn’t have been in a curry. Id add the photo - but it is legitimately disgusting! I took it to the shop showing them what had come from the food, not to gain a refund or more food, but to find out what had actually gone into my mouth! The lady whilst being quite dismissive- was nice and offered another curry, but the 2 males was basically hushing her away to leave it! What great customer service to people who have provided custom over the last few months! Never again!

Hubby was very ill after eating his order, I called the business to explain, they thanked me for telling them advising they were very busy but everyone else who ordered food is ok and perhaps it's my hubby who is poorly. He was fine before he ate his food. First and last time we order from Barnsley house, by the way he ordered the salt and pepper chicken box.

Horrendous! Chicken was slimy and rubbery! Tasted disgusting, wouldn’t eat from this poor excuse of an establishment ever again. Shame Google can’t give 0 stars

Great little Chinese take out, friendly staff and good quality reasonably priced food.

Telephone order for collection. Polite young man took order and quoted 10/15 mins for it to be ready arrived order was ready no problems. We had 2x noodle boxes satay & spicy of which were piping hot when we got home and very good value for money Only gave 4 out of 5 stars as it's our first time of using and only meal so far but won't be the last , thanks

I purchased a meal for a friend sweet and sour chicken balls is what in asked for and I got pork and prawn which I an allergic to seafood and could have made me very ill I dint eat last night I decided to warm up tonight I'm not impressed and will be telling everyone not to order from here if I could give no stars then I would 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡

I ordered changes to my order they was not done came an hour late, driver forgot half of order came back but it was wrong and spare ribs was burnt

I ordered 3 meals which cost me £30.00 one of of the meals were any good the chow mains tasted and smelt weird had one bite of it and checked it in bin waste of money won't be ordering again if I could choose no stars I would

Couldn't get through on the phone so walked into store, staff kept saying 1 second, answered phone whilst trying to take my order and asked me to restart ended up walking out, customer service sub par to be polite

Great meal. Friendly service. Reasonable price, generous portions. Excellent free spring rolls. We think best we've tried in the area.

Great food and fairly good service, though the wait time was about 40 minutes, I don't regret it at all! Will come again😊

Awful flavours. Hot and sour soup should be hot with fresh chilli, slightly clear and usually deep red/brown and sour from vinegar. This was lacking any of this, had been thickened with some sort of cream and crushed nuts and was very sweet. Had some meat in but half of that was fat. Special hot and spicy again flavour all wrong very very sweet not hot and certainly not spicy. Unrecognisable lumps of deep fried battered meat no 'fresh' meat. Suggest you are recycling deep fried meat from other dishes. £17.70 probably £13 wasted. Poor flavour throughout just a very poor chef. Didn't see the 3 out of 5 hygiene rating till later also worrying.

Ordered at 8:06pm it arrived at 10:45pm. I rang once after an hour had past, I was told just waiting for chicken balls. I then rang after another hour and was told 5-10 mins. 45 mins later it arrived. They were sat in the car for 5 mins and wouldn’t get out until I went to the door and opened it. I asked politely if we could make it £20 instead of £23 for the wait and the delivery man started answering back very rudely saying no and blaming the take away for taking orders from this far away. (I live in Barugh green, which is 14 min drive from the take away) I ended up paying the full amount as by this point I was starving. Not once did I get an apology. Will definitely not be ordering again

Bad bad bad, said they would give us a refund for the poor excuse they have for food and quailty. Never got nothing back and just-eat are a joke too.

Ordered two days in a row, first order they got wrong by not including crispy chicken. The second day they didn’t include my salt and pepper chips and the man on the phone taking the orders is rude and disrespectful and extremely blunt.

Disgusting. We ordered 2 big chinese boxes at £16 each. We expected to recieve a selection of food however when it arrived the box was disintegrated, it felt as though it had been sat the for atleast 30 minutes. The chips were soggy, the chicken wings were nothing like I've ever seen before ,they were rock solid and the combination of colours were a dark brown and white, similar to the beef, we genuinely couldnt figure out what they were so we avoided them. The bulk of the box was filled with salt and pepper chicken which tasted nice but felt stale, really tough and hard to chew. Genuinely regret eating it, I will never EVER order from these again. We also waited 1.5 hours to receive our order

Despite the food being good quality, we had to wait over our estimated delivery time by half an hour. And then once we has the food inside discovered one of our dishes was missing. We phoned up to inform them, and they inside claimed we were lying and at first were insistent we did in fact have the dish. It took a 10 minute phone call (and them phoning us back) to finally get the dish we ordered sent out to us. The customer service of this place is one of the worst I've seen. We have better things to do with our time than lie about not receiving a dish.

Absolutely best Chinese takeaway by far we live in hoyland. it’s worth the travel or delivery which ever suits we’ve tried all in hoyland and birdwell cant beat Barnsley house DELICIOUS 😋 X

I ordered duck and mushroom curry,tasted nothing like curry.my partner had house special and to be honest I had to taste both and could tell them a part.I paid £18 30 and I tip driver for it all to go in bin.I wont go there again.

Definitely best Chinese I've had in Barnsley. Relatively clean/well kept feel inside compared to the surrounding takeaways and area. Great service from the chap behind the counter, lovely guy. The chef even recommended which dish we should get after we asked a question, even though he didn't speak much English. Had a nice duck chow mein (although the menu said it was shredded and it wasn't - was looking forward to crispy 'pulled' duck in the middle. Still nice chunks of duck though!) Girlfriend had a nice king prawn chow mein with lots of flavour and lots of prawns - good plump juicy prawns too! Very very nice Chinese curry and Sweets and Sour sauces, with proper 'chinese takeaway chips' - you know the ones! Massive bag of mini spring rolls too for spending over £20 Don't get me wrong, this is the English take on Chinese, and not authentic dishes, but done to a high standard! My only criticism would be that the Pork balls had almost cakey batter inside the crispy shell. I would expect more of a chip shop fish style batter than that. Even with this, this was still worth 5/5 for me. Will be returning! 😋😁

Absolutely disgusting customers service telling me to hurry up saying my order has they have a time limit on the phone and telling me they have to go because there getting told off when I had not finished my order !!!!

Got told delivery would be 45mins it came 1hour and 50mins later after 2 phone calls. Told the delivery driver I hope this is hot he just put his arms up at me. Chips were greasy as owt. Rice was salty chicken balls were dry and so chewy won't be going here again!!!!

Waited over 2 hours for my order and all they could say when I phoned up was that they were waiting for the delivery driver to bring it to me completely ridiculous will never order from here again and the food was cold when it turned up. very poor service and food #DONOTORDERFROMHERE

Took 50 minutes to deliver chicken fried rice! Was little pieces of scrappy chicken that was hard as nail! And did not get my pop! Farl!!

Well let's just say I order of just eat got a time of 7.40 pm then get a message 30 minutes added to your order so that 8.10 my food should arrive 8.36 I ring to be told order is being done 9.pm husband rings just putting it in the bag you have people's money for food and it's a hour late is disgusting how you are treating paying customers if you carnt cope you should get more staff ..
