Food is spot on but quantity of chips differ depending on who serves you.

This place is never busy when i go , the food is ok but its not very tasty the difference in taste between fish and chips at whitby, to here are night and day but its probably the fat or the quality of fish who knows but its just not great.

Always a joy, service spot on, and would recommend to seriously go and enjoy the food, service and atmosphere.

I sent this to head office and have had no response. Hi. I am emailing to let you know about my experience . Tonight I visited the shop at the Glebe at Norton and purchased 2 standard cod 1 standard chips 1 large onion rings Curry sauce Mushy peas. I can honestly say it was the worst experience of fish and chips I can remember. The batter on the fish was undercooked and doughy. This then gave the fish a horrible texture The onion rings were also undercooked and a coupe I tried to eat had the skin still on the onion. The mushy peas were tastles. I have included some pictures which clearly show the issues and why I can say it wad my worse fish and chip experience I look forward to your response 2 july 2024. I was told it had improved...unfortunately not...horrible. new pictures added.

Ladies who work there are great. But the food is over priced and caked in grease. A shame really. It's a mediocre fish and chips, portion size is good and the fish was well cooked.

Worse fish I've ever had and they have the cheek to charge for it, even my dog wouldn't eat it ,the fish was barley there and what was was chewy absolutely disgusting never again

The ladies who work in here are lovely, I travel 40miles to see my dad and fish and chips are always on the menu for him. The quality never changes.

Absolutely lovely people, super chatty, helpful, fun and a nice clean shop. Prices are good too. However all the food is always excessively greasy, more grease then taste. Just clags and sticks to the roof of your mouth. Each to their own and we all prefer different types of food but for me I won't keep using this shop because it's just always limp, pale and oily. Had hoped the first time was because it was a Monday but other days and weekends were just the same.

Loverly haddok and chips kind ladies took my order so close to closing time very gratefull wish they did burgers tho.

Always excellent fish and chips from Barnacles. Recommend them to anyone.

3 x scrappy tiny bits of fish that were served as cod bites. Barely any fish at all and tiny. Owner refused to replace/refund unless they were returned immediately (live 2 miles away). Refused to accept photographs of said items! Disgraceful attitude! DO NOT WASTE your time or money with this shop!!

Said they are open until 6pm online got there at 5.30pm to be told they are closed thanks for upsetting my child 👍

Freshly cooked haddock with a delicious crispy batter - all the better for being sent home in a cardboard box. Only 4 stars because the mushy peas were awful and the chips in a polystyrene box (could have just been a paper bag).

Great food at great prices 👍 Spam fritters are a must.

Had large cod and regular chips, too much to eat, make sure your hungry.

The Fish n chips are usually really good from here, but this Saturday 06.05.22 the chips weren't very nice, soggy and opaque. Fish was lovely. The brown boxes are a lot smaller and not as good quality as the white boxes, previously provided and the portions seem smaller this time, felt quite disappointed this time. ☹️

I only gave 4 stars because of the price. Nice food but it is alot more expensive than the chip shop near my house.

We've given up on most of the takeaways in Billingham and This is nice and handy for us. Decent fish and chips at a reasonable price. We keep on going back.

Very large portions,very friendly staff, very helpful large menu to choose from, excellent value, this is our favourite Saturday tea.

1 star to many, never again. Fish cake was as hard and greasy and when tried to take batter off for filling it just wasnt worth the hassle and the chips tasted like they had been cooked a few times.

Every week with out fail my cod and chips and nosh box are top quailty if u want good quality this is the shop
