Barley Lane Bistro in Hastings

I’m shocked at the positive reviews on here. The food was absolutely terrible! My Dad’s chicken was pink. My childs peppers were like jelly and the burger was black. I don’t usually complain but I couldn’t eat a thing. There was also hardly anything available on the menu. It was honestly the worst meal I have had.

Booked a table in the BarleyLane bistro this evening and wasn't disappointed. I had the sirloin steak which was cooked to perfection, and my wife had the lasagna which was delicious wad better than most Italian restaurant's we have visited in the past Finished the evening with two amazing cocktails from the bar. The waitress was great and looked after well all evening. Overall we had a lovely evening and will be returning again soon.

Treated the mother to a delicious Sunday roast for Mother’s Day here. Food was superb, service was spot on and we’ll 100% be coming back again many times!

Went down for the open night and to spend time with family and there was no disappointment! We had a large table and all the food looked and tasted amazing! On the Friday I had halloumi sticks for starters which were so delicious, and for the main I had fish and chips which was nice and crispy and tasted lovely! On the Saturday we had the full English for breakfast and everything was just perfect to start off your morning! In the evening I had buffalo hot wings for starters which I can honestly say are the best hot wings I have ever had! If you like spice you need the try these! For main I had hunters chicken which was so succulent and tasteful! All the staff was friendly, attentive and always made sure you was not going thirsty. I would definitely say if you love a menu with a wide range and fancy some entertainment on a Saturday look up Barley Lane Bistro and make a booking as you will not be disappointed!

Amazing food even my youngest daughter cleared her plate she never eats a full meal so that is saying something. A real amazing hidden treasure highly recommend

Had a delicious meal today at Barley Lane Bistro, food looked and tasted great, all the staff were really welcoming and service was excellent. There are lots of choices on the menu, i had the Sunday roast and my partner had fish and chips both were extremely good. The atmosphere was upbeat with a really positive feel with lively happy staff. Definitely will come back

I had a great time at Barley lane bistro, the food was absolutely gorgeous and looks amazing, staff were really friendly and helpful. Suitable for a grown up evening out but also fun for kids.

Lovely classic food with lots of flavour. Excellent experience. Lasagna was great and my husband loved the fish and chips . All home made. Staff also made us feel welcome and were attentive to our needs. No I'm not the chef, I'm his mum so you may think I'm bias, don't take my word for it go and try the food and enjoy the ambiance. If you are lucky enough to book a Saturday you might even have some free entertainment.

Went there for a family dinner for my Mum’s birthday. Great atmosphere. Good choice of food on the menu. Everyone enjoyed their meals. Friendly staff. Will defiantly be going back.

We went there for the opening weekend and wasn’t disappointed, we had a table of 10 and all food came up well presented and hot. Personally I had the fish and chips and it was amazing. Also there was some great entertainment on so no reason to rush off. Will definitely be back.
