What a lovely find for us. Owner made us feel very welcome. Super friendly and offered us great advice on wine choice. Even recommended somewhere to go after our delicious seafood meal for a drink.

Anniversary lunch and couldn't have chosen a better new to us place. Really lovely food, scallops then monkfish, all cooked perfectly with amazing and plentiful sauces. Excellent service. Thank-you from us both and we'll definitely be returning.

I’ve not even finished my food yet but I have to leave a review. The food here is unreal? Out of this world attention to detail in the sauces. Simple, satisfying and an absolute pleasure. Really nice music, atmosphere and the best-looking fish shaped decanters I’ve seen all day. Insanely good. Stop whatever you’re doing and come and eat here. Now.

Galleria is still our absolute favourite in a town where we are spoilt with the quality and choice of great places to eat. Several of our visiting friends and family have commented that Gianluca's cuisine is the best food they've ever eaten – a definite trend – so it's not just us! For a very special celebration, we took over the restaurant, the food was wonderful and a year later, friends and family still talk about that memorable night. We visited recently to celebrate another special landmark and the evening couldn't have been lovelier. The menu is small, presenting sustainably sourced, seasonal dishes, which changes frequently. There is always choice for vegetarians, alongside excellent fish and seafood. We don't have oysters locally but they are sourced from the finest providers and always deliciously fresh. A range of European and English wines complement the dishes, Jack always gives informed advice when we want a change from our favourites. Whatever is on the menu, Galleria will not disappoint. Just phone to book or follow on Instagram for available tables, it's tiny, intimate with a convivial buzz and genuinely lovely service.

What a great husband team chef and front of house. Really beautifully thought out food with an Italian heritage. We really enjoyed the scallop starter and the bream main. So good. Glad we came here on our weekend away 👌🏽

This was one of the first restaurants I visited here. The space is nice and intimate, but cool. The Whitstable oysters tasted better than the ones I had in Whitstable! Always busy and best to book.

I love to have lunch with my husband in this little cozy restaurant. We both are Italians and we like only high quality food and here we know we can always get the best fresh sea food in the area. Excellent combination of flavours wonderfully presented. We also like the ambiance and the lovely informal but very professional service. Last but not least a great selection of wines… We really are lucky to have such an amazing independent quality restaurant in town! Thank you guys. Ps: please try the oysters and remember to book the table it’s only 15 seats!!!

I'm astonished that Galleria isn't a more prominent establishment. Were it situated in London, I have no doubt it would consistently be fully booked. I stumbled upon this hidden gem and couldn't have been more pleased about my discovery. Gianluca was very friendly and exhibited remarkable diligence in addressing my garlic allergy concerns. He dedicated time to meticulously analyse the menu, identifying options to accommodate my dietary needs. Such exceptional attentiveness is a rarity in my dining experiences. As for the food, it exceeded all expectations - well cooked and exceptionally tasty. A flawless 10/10 rating across the board is well-deserved. Without a doubt, I will return to Hastings, solely for the prospect of dining once more at Galleria.

Our favourite restaurant on our Bank holiday weekend. Food was amazing!

I visited this restaurant with my brother last night and we had a terrific meal. Friendly and attentive service, great dishes and good atmosphere. We had the fishcake starter, and the sea bream, finishing with the cheeseboard - it was all delicious, and beautifully presented. Plus a good wine list. If I was forced to suggest an improvement, I'd suggest one or two more biscuits with the cheese. But that's about it. It was our second visit, and we'd happily go again. Indeed, I'm sure we will. Thanks to all at Galleria.

There ought to be a Galleria in every town! I very rarely comment on trip advisor but this small restaurant is worthy of fulsome praise. My starter of sea bream tartare was on another level with complex flavours. I seriously could have eaten 10 plates of this alone. Hake was my choice of main and it arrived perfectly cooked on a bed a nudja spiced chickpeas. A beautiful combination. The lime and lemon posset with strawberries was sublime. Clearly the chef has huge talent and the service was efficient and friendly. What more can you ask for? St Leonards-on-Sea should count itself very lucky to have such a wonderful restaurant.

I have been here several times now and have never been disappointed with the quality of the food and wine as well as the impeccable service. Eager to show my friend the wonderful choice of top restaurants in my part of the country, I selected Galleria as a top pick. We both had the sea bream starters - magnificent. For mains we went for hake and sea bass - beautifully cooked, would be back for seconds in a heartbeat! Lovely management, great location - please visit if in town!

There isn’t a better place to enjoy an italian meal with an english twist! From the starters, fish mains, to the desserts every dish is incredible! The staff is the cherry on top! Definitely If you are in the area your palate cannot miss this place! Remember to book in advance:)

Three courses of deliciousness: Perfect Whitstable oysters Ridiculously fresh flaky cod with mussels on pureed celeriac-divine! Fresh lemon posett that tasted as if it had grown on the tree itself, all finished off with deep flavourful coffee and Cognac! This is seriously good food Well done chaps!

Without a doubt, the best seafood restaurant in Hastings. The oysters were served with perfection, delectable fritto misto followed by a superb linguine - all accompanied by Jack's friendly and welcoming demeanour.

Delightful restaurant which serves very high quality food and wines. It’s focus is primarily on seafood, serving the freshest and best of the catch landed at Hastings that day. But vegans and vegetarians are also well catered for. I have a couple of food intolerances which we made them aware of when booking, and when we arrived they had annotated a menu especially for me to show what was suitable and could be modified to reflect my restrictions. Talk about going above and beyond! Service was friendly, attentive and low-key all at the same time. There are an increasing number of high-end restaurants vying for attention in St Leonard’s, which is quickly gaining a reputation as a foodie destination. Galleria certainly deserves its spot in that hall of honour.

This is just what you want in a restaurant but rarely find. The most glorious elegant seafood topped off by fabulous service from a delightful couple.

We came here for lunch and everything was on point. The menu changes daily and you won't be disappointed with what you are served, everything is really exquisite.

Wow, we had a delicious meal in this gorgeous little seafood restaurant. It doesn't brag in any way (frontage and interior are elegant and understated) but my goodness the food should be shouted about. We booked for a Friday night and this is recommended as the place is little. The tuna tartare with creamed burrata and little touches of orange was a delight, as were the crisp light fritto misto. Our mains were so different yet equally tasty: rich zingy crab linguine and delicate turbot with asparagus. The wine we chose was delicious and there were plenty of price options. Watch out for the potent Negroni's! Great service and the place is full of special touches. We wouldn't have found Galleria had it not been recommended by a lady in lovely local clothes shop. In a place like St.Leonards/Hastings with so many food options this restaurant is wonderful and heads above the rest - we're passing on the recommendation as it shouldn't be missed. Perfect for a special occasion or dinner with friends. The restaurant is small in size but big on personality, flavours and atmosphere. Always really friendly and relaxed. Menu centres on local and seasonal produce which is all cooked by one man. Everything is good but the Fritto Misto, scallops and wild sea bass all deserve a mention.

I loved this restaurant which was a total surprise. I live inBrighton which is full of restaurants and often eat out but this small simply furnished restaurant tucked away in Norman Rd was perfection! The attention to detail was great lovely glasses , napkins and gurgling fish jug for water and the food was absolutely delicious. I popped in for a relaxed lunch and just had a selection of starters . There is a slight bias towards Italian cuisine as the chef is from Italy. My choices were Rye Bay scallops beautifully served on a bright orange squash purée with little pieces of crispy bacon and a tiny pea shoot and cucumber salad. The presentation was so pretty and taste divine. Also the famous Italian Fritto Misto light with a crisp floured coating then fried but not at all oily with king prawns ,whitebait squid and a gorgeous dip of lime and mustard mayo. Last dish was a simple but perfect wild bass tortellini in a bowl with a perfectly seasoned broth with spring onions and toasted sesame. Wish I could have stayed for a main course ….next time !!! I can’t recommend this little gem enough . Absolute bliss ! Such a wonderful find .Thank you Galleria.

Chef Gianluca has brought all his skills from the coast in Puglia, Italy, to the local seaside where he has for a number of years built personal relationships with the fishermen and women of Hastings. After horrid experience at the Boatyard in the Heist my daughter took me to The Galleria near by, what a wonderful welcome and absolutely wonderful food, many thanks guys we will definitely be back.

My mother was delighted to be going to this small restaurant for her 87th birthday as she is nervous about going out during the pandemic, and she was greatly reassured to know that the numbers of diners are kept to a strict maximum. Our evening was intimate with care taken to attend to our every wish. The lovely waitress, Rachel, was able to advise us regarding wine, and was happy to accommodate the different requirements of our party. I was so relieved to see the menu, which was compact enough for me to read without exhaustion as I had forgotten my glasses! Having just a small number of dishes to choose from makes the choosing so much easier, in my experience. Gianluca, the chef, was visible at work and it's so nice to be able to thank the chef personally after a wonderful meal of the freshest oysters, scrumptious king prawns and other fruits de mer, and delectable monkfish. I am looking forward to another dinner here very soon!

What an absolute little gem! Jack and Gian-Luca have created a truly special restaurant here, absolutely impeccable food, lovely and welcoming service. They are both so knowledgable about where the food comes from, how it is prepared and what wines etc would best compliment the food. I really can't recomend Galleria highly enough. Superb!

Absolutely lush. This was my 2nd time ever eating Oysters. I was nervous. But i can tell you now, it was excellent. And im so glad i chose to try it again. The welcome breadsticks, the starters, the fish, the wine was just perfect. and my little birthday dessert that my friend organised with the manager was super cute. Thank you for fitting us in for dinner. We were there for a few days for my birthday and we got lucky without reserving earlier. We chose to eat here becoz we overheard another couple step out of the restaurant saying "well that was delicious". 🤣

This is a very high quality find and by far the best meal in St Leonards. If you only book one restaurant during your stay then make sure it is this one. If you live here how envious am I and how lucky are you!

Fantastic food, and great staff competent, helpful and friendly. We enjoyed every minute here and everything was perfect, great service and superb seafood. Desserts are also spot on, very well done.

I always walked past this place but never bothered going inside. Until I spontaneously decided why not? Immediately I was greeted and seated by the two friendly staff members and right away I was offered a drink within seconds. The oysters and the seafood stew were some of the best things I've eaten in Hastings and that along with the chilled vibes and lovely, polite server makes me wanna come back with friends very soon!

So considering that this was the first time, me and my partner and our friends had all got together and eaten out. Since the pandemic. This place was by far a fantastic option. The food was absolutely amazing, faultless. Service was great couldn't fault it, at all. And very reasonably priced. Our group, had a fantastic afternoon and highly recommended it. Xx

Finest seafood in St Leonards on Sea. This restaurant is a real gem very close to the seafront in St Leonards. Great menu with fresh fish. I highly recommend the Frito Misto starter which is octopus, prawns, squid and whitebait all served lightly battered and fried with a tabasco mayonnaise. The mains are fresh local fish and a vegetarian option today was broccoli lasagne and it tastes amazing. Great wine selection which is very reasonably priced with good choices. Reservations required and excellent service.

It's no mean feat to open a restaurant during lockdown, but having navigated the first and second with style (serving gorgeous takeaways with absolutely banging food; providing delicious deli items too) it's great that Galleria can finally open their doors as a sit-down venue again. This is the perfect place to have a glass of fizz (from their expertly curated wine list), and oysters on a Saturday afternoon, or sit in for an evening to enjoy a long, delicious meal of many courses. It's a treat to come here, and Jack and Gianluca are the perfect team- gracious, generous and absolutely brilliant at what they do.

Well, you are new to town, 17.30 hr, take a look at the menu, seems nice enough, some smokers outside, no one whatsoever inside, asking whether they are open now, “yes, but we’re fully booked”,…. Oh yes, English hospitality, you better get used to it, even after covid, no need to earn money apparently.

We had a fabulous meal at Galleria: delicious scallops and beautifully cooked hake fillet paired with a light Italian white. Perfect!

My only regret was that we couldn’t stay for all three courses and wine. I took my mum here for lunch as I’d heard good things. Whilst I could have spent several wonderful hours sampling the beautifully curated menu, we had to dash reasonably quickly. We had a beautiful meal with outstanding, personable and professional service. Such a gem of a little restaurant, great food - really special. I can’t wait to bring my husband here for a date night so I can have all three courses and sample the excellent wine menu.

This is truly fantastic restaurant. The seafood is so fresh and the hospitality is outstanding. The menu changes in accordance with the catch from the bay, just metres from the restaurant. Products are seasonal and beautifully prepared and presented. The range of wines is good and varies and does not merely follow the usual pairings. Exceptional.

I ended up in Gallleria for a spot of lunch with my mother as our usual place happened to be closed that day. And thank God it was. We had the most fantastic fish lunch and some lovely wine. We'll definitely be visiting again.

It takes confidence to present food with a backdrop quite as stripped back as Galleria. But with the dishes these boys create, it’s not surprising where their confidence comes from. Beautiful creations are allowed to shine next to the plain, deep green walls. With food this good, who needs distractions! Dishes from a perfectly short daily menu take fresh fresh ingredients and do just sufficient to bring out their signature flavours. A smoked mackerel pâté, a carpaccio of sea bass with a clever contrast of diced and crisped skin, a superb linguine and a dozen utterly perfect Colchester oysters come with one of three condiments - and not a sharp shallot mignonette in sight. If distractions form part of a meal for you, there is the single white chrysanthemum, the Arthur Price cutlery ( Sophie Conran’s Rivelin) and the little tea light holders from across the road in Shop and the one framed masterpiece on the wall - any more distraction would be to miss the masterpiece right in front of you!
