Nazar in Hastings

Being a Turkish person myself, I must admit these dishes aren't as good as the authentic flavors I know. Plus, considering the location, they're quite expensive in my opinion. The service is slow, and the venue is quite dark.

Very expensive. We went for the £59.99 platter, 2 adults and 1 child, and we left hungry. Spent £85. Disappointed. Food uncooked, halloumi cheese rotten. Never again.

Great food lamb shish definitely a winner

We came this evening as a table of 4 and what a lovely evening we had. We was made to feel welcomed by all the staff, our waitress took the time to speak to us before ordering our drinks and meals. There was lots of choice on the menu with a variety of vegetarian options too. The food was amazing, lots of flavours, and so fresh, and large portions. We loved that the kitchen was open and could see your food being cooked. The restaurant was clean. Thank you to all the staff for making our evening so lovely. We will definitely be visiting again. Nazar is a hidden little gem and I would highly recommend you visit....you won't be disappointed!!!

We went for a family dinner and the food was better than the food I had in Turkey and they had a waiter who was especially dressed in cute clothes. I liked both the service and the boss very much!!!

We picked this restaurant on the basis of the good trip advisor reviews, but we were really disappointed - I can't understand how it's so highly rated. The service was terrible - really slow and inattentive. There were plenty of staff but they were just milling around and not watching the tables. Initial drinks took 20 minutes to arrive. We were never asked if we wanted more - had to try to flag down someone whenever we wanted a top up. After we'd finished our meals, the dirty plates sat on the table for ages until we managed to get someone's attention to clear the table. The food was a mixed bag - the Meze was very good, but the main courses were a big let down. Some of the meals were not very nice, some had missing items, and some were not properly cooked (obviously reheated and cold in places). Much of the tableware was chipped, which isn't great. The restaurant itself is a strange disjoined layout and doesn't have a great atmosphere. The back room is dark and dingy, and the front is really loud due to lack of soft furnishings, so it's hard to hear each other talk. Overall, we didn't enjoy our meal at Nazar and definitely won't be returning.

Favourite place for lunch when visiting my mum. Feels just like Turkey with authentic flavours, and flamboyant staff; some of the food exceeded what I ate in really good restaurants in Turkey 1 month ago whilst on holiday there. Ask for WiFi as there is no phone reception as the restaurant is built into the base of the Hastings rock and caves. Totally recommended.

We stopped for lunch, after we had a lovely morning sitting at the beach. The staff were very welcoming and friendly, the wraps were light and tasty and came with lovely dips. Loved being there.

I went there yesterday night for have ina diner very nice otwntic atmosphere, i start with mix meze plater , houmes ,caciki , fetachees pastr some other things there were so many i dont remember all . All were very nice, fresh and tasty. Service was very good . Gentelman who was serving us very friendly and fast. There were two lovley ladies serving as well. I realaise its family running resteruant that is why it was so clean. As a maincourse i had nazar special which i recomend highyle telection of the kebaps they given bulguri and rice and huge salad on the house with that.all meats was very thender. Bill was very reasnobel about 30 quid . Defenetly go back five star….

Excellent! Gerçekten çok iyi yemek, mükemmel! Cecik, ezme, kofta, salata, Kuzu Güveç superb. Reminds us so much of our Türkçe home near Izmit. Thank you Nazar for excellent food, çok lezzetli.

Lovely Turkish Restaurant in Hastings near the Pier. The staff were very friendly & helpfull. The place is well kept and clean. They have an open kitchen and it is kept clean and well maintained. The toilets were clean too. The place has a good atmosphere too. 👍😁

Really nice friendly restaurant. Some of the best Mediterranean/ Turkish food I’ve had for ages. Went in on a rainy Monday night just because it was close to my accommodation and I’m really pleased I did.

The place was able to accomodate our big group and all staff were accomodating. We waited for the food for quite some time but it was worth it specially with any lamb dishes.

The people were very nice and the atmosphere felt lovely. The food was good and the cocktail that was given to us on the house was amazing

Friendly staff, good chicken shish

I have been using this restaurant for a few years and I have never been disappointed but last night was definitely a cut above. The waiting Staff were prompt and friendly. The food came out quickly and it was delicious, hot and plentiful . We all agreed we would be going back. I went with people who had never been before and they were very impressed. Well done Nazar. Keep up the good work .

We visited Nazar‘s restaurant a few days ago with our daughter and dog. We had a very warm and friendly greeting, got a nice table and the drinks and started (Humus and wine leaves) were served very fast. The meal was great: we had the chicken, the Köfte and I enjoyed the Adana Kebab.

Lovely lunch there during a day trip to Hastings. Their lunch deal is great value for money. Food was delicious (the falafel was amazing). The service was friendly and kind. They helped me identify allergens (gluten and dairy free) in their menu.

Absolutely amazing food, fresh and delicious with homemade bread to die for. Warm and friendly family restaurant. You can't get better, try a cocktail, they are amazing. My favourite go to place there are many others to choose from in Hastings but none so good.

I love this restaurant. I try to go to other places, but always end up coming back. The food is delightful (if you think you've had good felafel, you wait!), The service friendly and it's centrally located.

If you’re looking for delicious turkish food this place is for you. Went in hastings for a day trip and stopped at Nazar for dinner, had an amazing tomahawk, the guys serving gave us a good mood!

Not good. Kleftico was a lamb casserole not roasted, no seasoning, not cooked in wine, no taste, vegetables swimming in a limp gravy seemingly made out of granules. I could cook better myself. Restaurant empty, service only slightly friendly. sorry but a terrible experience not to be repeated.

As a Turkish traveller who cycle around the coast of Britain, I have to say, Nazar is the one of the best Turkish restaurant in the UK. I tried their mixed grill and some mezes and it tasted like from a restaurant in Turkey. if you are around the town, give a chance.

Come to Nazar 🧿 without rush and as mindful as you can so you can enjoy the atmosphere as well as the taste. Everything I've tried is perfectly cooked and delicious. I always enjoy watching their staff smiling and enjoying their job. The owner is very gentle, friendly, and kind. He runs his business with care and commitment to offer an excellent service. Try the Kuzu Shish, marinated tender cubes of lamb perfectly grilled over charcoal, so yummy! 😋

Wow! Just had their Special Mixed Grill, don’t attempt this unless you are seriously hungry. Great, authentic, Turkish family owned restaurant on Hastings seafront. Lovely hospitable and friendly family and staff, made to feel as if you are a special friend from the start to finish of your visit. Food delicious, Effes beer, Baclava, the best Irish Coffee ever. Who needs to spend an “arm and a leg” going to Turkey, (been there, done that) with this place on your doorstep.

We were visiting Hastings from the Midlands. As we are very fond of Turkish food , on passing the restaurant a couple emerged saying the food was just the best...so in we went. The guys were incredibly friendly. Chef made us outstanding beautiful lunch ....the price was great. I would highly recommend this fabulous restaurant. I only wish we had one like this closer to our home in the East Midlands. Lucky Hastings....

Went here for my birthday meal and 5 friends. We were made to feel very welcome and had fantastic service throughout. We all loved our food (and copious amounts of wine and gin!!). When the waiter found out it was my birthday he gave me a bottle of rose wine to take home. We were the last people in the restaurant but didn't feel rushed to leave. We went 10.50 p.m anyway. Really lovely evening. Been here several times but not with a group of friends. We were checked on to make sure we were OK and nothing was too much for the waiter.. He even agreed to a selfie with my friend!!!! Very enjoyable night. Highly recommend the falafel starter..

Having never eaten Turkish food before, I let them know what I do & don't like then left it to them to choose for me. They did not disappoint, what a meal the best I've had all year. The welcome I received was phenomenal. I was totally overwhelmed. I can't recommend the restaurant staff, food, service or quality highly enough.

Super friendly service and really delicious food! We had falafel to start and vegetarian moussaka and an aubergine dish. Can not fault them and the waiter was really nice and made us laugh.

We have been to Turkey many times and can honestly say the meal we had in Hastings was among the best. The calamari being off was a good sign as that meant it wasnt frozen. Everything was really excellent and the chef was genuinely delighted...

On a cold, wet windy night in Hastings, this was a comforting place to spend our date night. The food was very tasty, freshly grilled with generous portions and a very authentic Turkish experience. The owner was very friendly and accommodating and we had a nice chat! I can't really fault the place. Looking forward to visiting again at some point!

Love this place we are part of a homeless charity called Emmaus and this restaurant always looks after us and we are always a fair size group but always great service and a great laugh great people xxx

The food here is spectacular! Coming from someone that has lived in green lanes in London this is the best Turkish outside of Turkey. I had the lamb liver and the chicken Shish which was amazing! 15/10

Went for a birthday meal but left feeling a bit disappointed - 1st time food turned up with hair, then they returned with 2 pieces less seemed they just removed the pieces which had hair on it and undercooked chicken wings. I was told manager with come to talk which I thought would be an apology but no one tuned up and I had to get the waiter towards to the end to tell about the undercooked chicken wings which he said he could replace. Waited for 20mins and then just left as didn’t want to waste any more time. Decent food but just missing service. Oh and the set menu 2 mentions it’s served with bread but no bread was served and I just didn’t want to cause any drama and spoil the mood given it was a special day.

We went there with friends for a dinner coupe of weeks ago and all food was fresh, lovely and delicious! Great atmosphere and I was surprised that we could see the caves straight from the restaurant!

Went here as it's near the beach front, food we're bit overpriced but filling. Customer is 2.5 out of 5 🌟 Food 3.5 out of 5🌟 Also orange juice is £1.90 but charged 20p when we asked for extra ice and left a box of euro shopper juice on the counter with £1 on it!.

What a lovely Turkish in Hastings. Good value food was decent

Dreadful food & overpriced. Four small slices of calamari on a couple of chopped up iceberg lettuce leaves for £8.90!! The calamari were tough and overcooked with deep fried processed breadcrumbs. so many other good places to eat in Hastings, this is just not worth it. The complimentary Turkish delight in coconut that came with the bill actually tasted stale and had to be spat out. Sorry but this was a bad experience.

Come here often and have the lunch menu. Felt that the portions have become smaller but this was compensated by having an extra dish served for free. Food always very nice and served very quickly

Visited with family. Fantastic food, had the char grilled chicken which was very fresh and tender. Swapped the rice for potatoes.

Amazing food with great customers services

Good food. Very poor service. The senior waiters sent a young inexperienced lad to take orders and jumbled up the whole service. I anticipated walking out with my family after waiting for an hour for drinks on a non busy day. Disappointing as I believed the reviews here on Google. Expect wine selection from Lidl..

Read good reviews about this place before we went so thought we'd give it a try. Don't bother unless you want to wait an hour between serving, drinks and food. Had the Adana which was good but my partner and kids had steak(not rib eye) and chips(supermarket bought frozen packet) . Poor waiter, brought wrong drinks and food numerous times due to what seemed like lack of experience and language barrier. Also full selection of wines but all from Lidldl!!
