Absolutely not good for you and you will definitely get food poisoning from the chicken with feathers still on it and mouldy fish

Wouldn't trust them to run a bakery so dodgy a avenue for food poisoning avoid if you value your life

When the main owner is there things run smoothly as he is a gentleman and knows how to speak to customers. The experience I had today was horrendous. The staff were rude and cancelled my scheduled order only because I popped into the shop and asked them not to prepare my order as it was scheduled for the next day as that mistake has happened in the past and has resulted in wasted food. The staff member the rudely started questioning why I would schedule it for the next day and threatened to cancel my order which in turn he did.

Food was great service excellent

My experience with Barkerend Fisheries was extremely disappointing and unfortunately, it took a turn for the worse. I ordered delivery and was met with subpar food quality—dry, tasteless meat, raw-tasting fries, and nearly flavorless fish. The only slightly redeeming item was the bread, but that was hardly enough to make up for the rest. To make matters worse, I suffered from food poisoning after the meal, which forced me to spend a valuable day in bed. The entire experience was not only frustrating but also detrimental to my health. Given the £20 I spent, I expected much better quality and a safe dining experience. Despite hearing positive reviews about Bradford's food scene, this visit was a complete letdown and I cannot recommend Barkerend Fisheries.

I have been a very long term customer of Barkerend Fisheries, however, I will not be ordering from here again as I placed an order for delivery via ubereats and my order was cancelled for no apparent reason after over an hour. This is not the way to treat loyal customers.

i bought food from here on Friday food which the f&c was a bit dry but the main problem was having to pay for sauce if you want it on your food and £1.25 for a separate tub of sauce. i complained to the guy with the big beard and his response was thats the price and that people cook at home and come to buy our sauce …. not sure how that is relevant. i will NEVER BUY FROM HERE AGAIN!!

AVOID Unless you want to get food poisoning! Firstly he tried to charge me £11.99 when it clearly says £7.99 on the window. Secondly the amount of chips given were the amount you would give a 4 year old! Thirdly the chicken smelt and tasted funny. Ended up with a horrific stomach pain, keeled over in pain and sick. Avoid at all costs! Nothing decent here at all!

Tried this place after years so went in for the fish and chips and must say it was pretty decent. The lad on the counter (with beard) gets 5* for customer service.

Ask for mint sauce on burger comes with everything on it all over the bun all over out side of the tray he just said sorry bye!guy at night is a sound lad not a thing wrong with it yesterday.will not be going back to that one.

I don't understand what the hell was going through my head when I ordered from this fast food!🤦‍♂️ After the order arrived late and the drinks were wrong, (although you took my money for a more expensive drink, you given one for 59 pence) fine....that's not important! The food arrived in a disgusting state! Full of oil, the potatoes were boiled in oil, not fried at all, and the fish not fresh at all. I don't understand how you can serve this to your customers? Rest assured that I will make sure that this does not happen again! We work for our money, and you are actually making fun of us! Pathetic!

Went in to get a pizza, rude staff who speak English rather poorly. For the pizza to be cold when I get it, and rather bland and lacking cheese

Called in couple of days ago and got x3 fish and chips It must have been the most bland fish I’ve had anywhere this place used to be good but seems to have gone downhill The mushy peas smelled like wet socks, The curry sauce was really watery and no taste at all For the price you charge there should be some aspect of quality there as well. Do Not recommend.

I’ve been ordering and eating from here since I was little and the food has never been disappointing. I’m defo not writing this while I’m about to order from here again 😂 but over all the fish and chips is worth it and the masala fish is full of flavour. I trust them with my food 100%

been going to this place since i was a kid. ordered a donner meat and chips and safe to say i wont be visiting again as the last two times the food has been awful. i sent my little cousin(11yr old) into the shop and he came back with burnt donner. also whenever i ask for a specific sauce to be put on it never does and i dont wanna be petty and open the packaging in front of them to check but take it home to see there is nothing, not even salad i asked for on there. your probably thinking i may be over exaggerating but honestly this is the worst ive seen in 10+ years of visiting. DO NOT RECOMMEND!

Another establishment refusing card payments,a very good way of laundering money,no disable entry as door was stuck,

I got masala fish and it was 10/10. Portion was so big no one else serves this much and beautifully made. Downside is that the staff doesnt cover their beard with hair nets. Its really put me off, not sure if ill go back.

Called up with order and was told that will be ready 15 minutes but on arrival when I asked is my order they said they didn't receive any order and they will have to make it how inconvenience and they where very rude.i wouldn't recommend this place

What a rip off very expensive charged me for Putting mint sauce on my donner and chips he put a little on as it was a large portion I asked for more and he charged extra. They mean to put on less so you ask for more so they can charge you

Disgusting place i got a fish butty the bread underneath was full of mold avoid this place at all cost!!! The response below from the owners says it all, they take no responsibility for anything going by your other responses, I wasn't planning on visiting your shop again thats for sure , i brought the item back soon as I got the nasty taste from your dirty mouldy bread. It just happened to be half eaten by the time I realised what the taste was. You can brush it of as much as you want but to all that read this avoid this place at all cost!

I got a 3 piece chicken and chips meal for my son this weekend. My 6 year old son complained the chips were cold inside and the chicken 'is different' after i tried it myself i can confirm the chicken batter was the worst I've tasted, it was definitely off. It smelt funny too on closer inspection. My son has been poorly after eating this, hes had cold sweats and a fever too. I know for a fact it is due to this food, as he hasnt had anything else different. I have attached a photo of the food, see for yourself. I wouldnt even feed my dog this.

Food took longer to be delivered than the just eat app promised. However the food was delivered by driver Arif piping hot and delicious as always. Well done guys on a busy Friday evening 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Fuming. Food took over an hour to arrive with NO sauces. Even though I specified salt vinegar and sauces. They gave the food plain and dry. Absolute joke. Do not order over apps.

Great food at great prices, the brother that stands at the front reading Bismillah has a heart of gold. Their food is always fresh and worth the wait during busy periods.

Very nice for a family dinner out! Fresh food, big portions, just wish the chicken donner was less spicy. The burger bread was nice and soft, the chicken burger tasted really nice. Fish & chips were top class. Quick service too. Will stop by again!

Curry sauce was like water with a long piece of something inside it. Chicken was over cooked and raw. Chips were hideous, under cooked.

ordered from them tonight arrived way to early which makes me think not cooked properly when arrived the chicken wings was so greasy it actually leaked through the paper bag it arrived in & most of the chips was black very old chips I've taken photos of them & the way too greasy chicken wings i threw them straight into the bin as not even fit to feed A pig,A waste of £18.99 but i will never order again from this terrible place,I am very surprised they haven't already been shut down by food standards agency!!!!!!

I should have paid attention to the negative reviews, how an established buisness cannot take an order correctly then send out below par food winds me up. I got charged for all the items but all the burgers came with no sauce or salad amd no chips. Took a chance with h these guys us never again.

One of the worst meals I've had for a long time1st issue we left simple instructions keep the donner meat separate from the fish the food arrives and the donner meat is on the fish leaving the fish soggy and unsuitable for someone who has a meat allergy 2nd complaint we left explicit instructions for there delivery driver to leave our food on the doorstep and buzz our flat because we are currently isolating the driver buzzed our flat i answered phone told him I would be down an he pushed the door open and was half way up the stairs before I could tell him to stop also not impressed that he wasn't wearing a mask when I called up the restaurant to complain all I got was excuses so all in all waited over an hour an half for soggy unappetising food never eating from here again and I would advise others to do the same

Nice food but unfortunately they frequently mess up orders. Always make silly mistakes and the waiting time can be ridiculous. Several times our food has arrived cold. This evening they missed a whole meal off our order. When I rang back, they told me they were closed and so nothing they could do. When I pointed out I had paid for this meal, they said I would get a free drink with my next order as a way of apology. Very very poorly run company

Barkerend fisheries is a place that caters to many needs. They have an extensive menu with plenty of options for everyone. The fish and chips are very good. Crispy batter with succulent fish, amazing donner kebab that's juicy, well seasoned and comes with a slight kick. If you love spice and that's not enough, these guys' chilli sauce is absolutely amazing. It comes hot and goes perfectly with the donner kebab. The burgers are brilliant, decent pizzas (try their special) and their masala fish is to die for. Barkerend fisheries is a great option for when the family doesn't know what they want. Reliable, tasty and decently priced.

1st time and last time omg it has funny taste that you can't get rid of has to be the worst tasting fish and chips I've ever had all 4 of us threw it away

I hardly go to barkerend fisheries because whenever I go their its takes atleast 12-14 mins to get my food come guys am sure you can do better than this.Max should take around 4-6 mins i got a small potions wasn't big aswell. Guy on till looks like you he's got attitude problem. Give a smile please 😊

Execellent fish! Abit pricey than its rivals but worth the wait. Covid 19 rules meant we couldnt walk in as sticker on window stated ring up for collection. Waited 5mins freashly cooked and happy man came out. 🤗🤗🤗

Better than mother Hubbard 4 sure

Stood in queue for 20 minutes and they guy who was serving was busy chatting to a lady and laughing in queue it was only 2 of us. Guy was not bothered to do quick job. I wouldn't recommend to people who are in rush. If you have enough time then by all means come.

I eat from here when I fancy a naughty calorific munch, I mostly walk in and order. I phoned in once and the man answering didn't understand what's mild and what's hot chilly. And served a killer spicy panini. However despite the misunderstandings, I rate them 5* because I love the fact the muslim gentleman says "I start in the name of the Allah Most Gracious Most Merciful" everytime he serves, which for me is truly a blessing. I mostly purchase fish and chips, fish butty, scallops, fried chicken, donner, paninis, curry sauce, mint sauce. Enjoy.

Ordered a delivery and it said it would be delivered at 23:19. At 23:30 I tried calling and no answer. Then I clicked on their page and saw the shop shut at 23:00. They took our money and we end up with no food and £15 down. Absolutely disgusted.
