This looks a really cool and trendy eatery in a vintage arcade offering good food and drinks, for so many seats, I would expect more staff and was bored of waiting for my panini to be heated while my coffee went cold.

We popped in for breakfast and wasn't disappoint, the décor is very interesting and looks like you've gone back in time. Not cheap, but you do get a massive breakfast for the money, really tasty too. I ordered a bacon and sausage step sandwich, I couldn't finish it, and the bread was really fresh. I would recommend this place.

I went here last week with my family as the children wanted an ice cream treat, such a disappointment. The decor is lovely but the music was so loud we couldn't hear each other talking. All the staff looked like were in a flap but friendly. It didn't really have a relaxing atmosphere. Coffee was ok and ice cream was average, the waffle machine which we could see, started spilling over mixture and staff trying to clean it up. Wouldn't visit again, sorry.

Visited yesterday after leaving another restaurant disappointed. They were very busy and it was little difficult to make our way through with 2 prams but people were very helpful. We were looking for desserts and the offerings did not disappoint! When I ordered there were a few items out of stock but the staff made suggestions and I was happy with my choice. When it arrived it did not disappoint it tasted as good as it looked, we were left defeated! The whole place had some lovely furnishings and was all in all Instagram worthy. Will definitely return.

Two of us went there for coffee (average) at 11:00 on Thursday 27 July. I ordered at the counter and offered a £20 note to pay for the coffees (£5.40) and the dark haired medium height with glasses female counter assistant took it (the counter at this point was over 1 metre high, with the till obscured from direct view behind it). She then asked if I had anything smaller as she was short of change. I had and gave her the correct money. She then returned with her right hand a £10 note. When I challenged her she immediately apologised and straight away returned my £20 note which she still had in her left hand. The way she did this makes me believe that she was well practiced in performing this scam. She did have the grace to look shamefaced when I challenged her by saying 'never try to scam a scammer' . I just hope her employers read and react to this.

We fancied an ice cream & we weren't disappointed. We had a huge chocolate sundae & a berry sorbet. It was a comfortable cafe with great quirky decor. A great place for a pit stop.

I have often visited the tea rooms but my partner wanted a cooked breakfast this morning so we tried the cafe across the road. It was just as lovely as the tea rooms. My partner enjoyed his cooked breakfast , which was of good portion and well cooked . I opted for the New York bagel and again I thoroughly enjoyed. Along with a cappinchino and pot of tea it set us back 22.00 which is reasonable . The decor is quaint and has character and there was outside seating for is to enjoy the sunshine . The staff were efficient and friendly . Overall a great visit and we will certainly return! Thanks barker!

Popped in here on Saturday afternoon after hearing about their 'Doughnut Milkshakes' and deciding it was something I definitely needed to try! I chose a peanut butter & jelly shake, and then tried to find a table (which was tricky as the place was packed!). My shake arrived pretty quickly (maybe 10 minutes after I'd sat down) and it was definitely something to behold! It was HUGE! I'm not generally a huge fan of doughnuts and actually asked when I ordered it whether they had some other sort of cake that they could use as a substitute. I was told that they'd sold out of everything else so it was doughnut or nothing, and I'm really glad I stuck with the doughnut as it was completely delicious! Soft, gooey, and moist. The shake itself was divine! Thick, and full of globs of crunch peanut butter and strawberry jam, Honestly, heaven in a jar! It was a little pricey, but as a one-off treat every now and then was worth every penny! Other people had sundaes and waffles, and they all looked delicious. Speedy efficient service and a nice environment to sit for half an hour. I'll definitely be back.

VENUE The main draw to this place is probably the aesthetic. Similar to the other branches of Cardiff's Barker chain, the restaurant decor is quirky, cosy and non-modern. This restaurant is also located in one of Cardiff's famous arcades. FOOD The ice cream here is tasty, but nothing out of the ordinary. They have had a couple of interesting flavours, such as passion fruit cheesecake, but it was most fairly pedestrian. Most egregiously though, the ice cream is ~£2 a scoop, far too expensive for both the quantity and quality received. SERVICE The service was perfectly acceptable.

We visited as a family whilst in Cardiff. To be fair, this establishment is lovely; lots of curios and interesting things to look at. It's also very comfortable and a great place to relax. Or rather it would've been. The staff were clearly having some sort of meltdown. Everyone seemed in a flap, not knowing who had ordered what or which items of food and drink made up a complete order. My partner, father in law and I were queueing to order lunch. Behind the counter everyone was in chaos. One guy (seemingly quite senior) was particularly stressed and his words at one point were "for f-s sake" and several of us heard him. He then stomped off. One young man with a magnificent head off hair was wandering around running his fingers through his locks continuously, adding no value to the customer experience at all, or rather no positive value. A lady standing next to me said she had seen the curly haired young man placing slices of cake under a display with his hands! Mmmmm "hair product" flavoured cake. Urgh. When our food did arrive it was all in phases but the staff that waited on us were apologetic, calm and quite lovely. The food was tasty but by this time I was apprehensive about the hygiene behind the scenes. This place could be a little gem; sort your staff out, educate them in customer experience and front of house tantrum control and for goodness sake train them in food hygiene or someone is going to get ill.

Worst kebab I’ve ever had and I love a kebab ! Ordered as I thought I’d try somewhere different ! Now regret it ! Not good value for money portion was small for 13.50 which you could forgive if it tasted great ! But the kebab meat tasted really strange, looked over cooked ! It was so odd tasting I couldn’t eat it, the chicken wasn’t cooked all the way through and cold in the middle ! Salad was ok and onion rings nice ! all in all avoid ! I I wish i’d taken a picture of it before giving it to the dog ! won’t be going back ! Waste of money

DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE, just paid £25 for my order on their website and no food has come. Phoned up the place and the man on the phone was very rude, refused to give refund or send a replacement. Sort yourself out.

Think they overcharged us due to English barrier. We requested certain sauces but all they did was duplicate everything. So we ended up with 4 tubs of sauces instead of 2.

Everything feshly made to order, very busy at lunchtime with a queue but this speaks for itself. They load the sandwiches and baquettes as much as possible, so good portions
