Bar Soba Leeds in Leeds

Not from Leeds, my partner & I have took advantage of the bank holiday weekend not working to have a food/drinks in Leeds. Never been to Soba before so thought we would try it, was willing to get a cocktail or 4. Walked in to an EMPTY bar to be told you are not accepting walk ins. We could have booked a table for all you knew but you instantly judged and made a decision there and then. Will probably never attempt to go here again if this is how staff treat people! Customer service always is a top priority in industry that serves customers and need to reflect on your practices in future. Update: after emailing the manager, I was offered complementary food and drinks. I emailed to ask was the offer still open but got no reply. On visiting Leeds I discovered the place has shut down.

Came for a bottomless brunch, staff were super friendly and kept our drinks always topped up! Good selection of drinks and food on the bottomless for a great price, shoutout to Wiktoria for being an amazing server!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We did the bottomless brunch on Saturday and despite having booked our slot at least 2 weeks prior we were not sat down until almost half an hour after our booking due to there being no table available. We were given a free drink while we waited by Connor the manager then sat at a table directly next to the bar which resulted in one of our party being constantly pushed and bumped into by people ordering drinks, really nit an ideal place for a table when people are eating. We sat at least forty five minutes waiting for the only drink order that was taken along with what food we wanted. Once our food was brought to our table and a member of staff came to see if everything was OK were we able to say we were still waiting for our first drink. Connor was running around like a headless chicken trying to get everyone what they wanted, if it wasn't for him and his help we would of spent the full time of our booking with literally one drink. The food was inedible, my chicken burger was rock solid and the katsu curry sauce had an overpowering burnt taste to it. We appreciated the fact it was a Saturday afternoon and knew it would be busy but between the location of where we were seated, the lack of drinks to begin with and the food it made for a really disappointing experience. We can't praise Connor enough for his customer skills and tireless running around trying to rectify the situation, he is the only reason we would even consider coming back and trying again for a better experience, he's an absolute credit to the company

Went for the bottomless brunch and I wouldn’t go again. Service was soo slow, left waiting for about 10 minutes after finishing a drink before even getting to order again. It wasn't busy either so not sure why the service was slow. Food was fine but small portion sizes (pad thai). There was chewing gum underneath my friends chair and it got stuck to her tights. When she asked for some hot water to help clean it off the waitress forgot twice and never ended up bringing it. She did bring a free shot though which was nice. Overall pretty disappointing. We wanted to try somewhere new and it was one of the more expensive options and I wouldn't go again.

The entire experience was uncomfortable. I called a week in advance to book a table, and was told their system was down but I would soon receive an email to confirm. The day before i called to confirm my booking, which did not exist. We arrived on the day and was given a Bottomless Brunch menu, which we had not requested. We had to ask for the main menu, and discovered there was a separate lunch menu, which was not made clear online. There was shards of glass and scraps of food on our table. All of our food was incredibly salty, and 2 of our dishes did not turn up until we finished all of the other food as they had not been added to our bill. There was 8 staff members in for 3 tables, however all of the work was done by the management, which was confusing. There was one staff member who constantly hovered around our table to immediately collect any empty glasses or plates, which was unsettling and we felt we were being rushed. They took empty plates off our table as we were still eating, which was incredible rude. I have been to other Bar Soba locations before and have never had any issues, so we were incredibly disappointed by the entire experience.

Great Roast Dinner! Salt and pepper roast potatoes were a hit! Will be back to try a bottomless brunch with the girls!

Came with my family and friends for my birthday for bottomless brunch from 6-7:30. Arrived and was put at a table next to a massive, loud speaker. Nobody could hear each other and we couldn't hear the waitress nor her us so she decided to move us upstairs. When we went upstairs they didn't know where to put us so we stood around for 5 minutes getting in the way. When they got us a table we were one chair short and they didn't bring us one or show any signs of doing so, when I asked about the chair the lady I spoke to was very snappy with me and said we are trying to find one. They eventually brought it. We got our first drinks then another two before we were asked what food we would like to order. It got to 7pm and we were brought food but after giving 3 of the meals and realising the fourth wasn't ours they realised the food was meant for another table. They told us to keep the 3 meals we had that were lukewarm and the rice was a ball of rubber. It want until 7:30 (when we were supposed to leave) that our meals turned up. When we finished we were brought the wrong bill and didn't get the correct one for another 10 minutes. It was an absolute shambles. It cost us £280 between us and was awful, we won't be back!

Upmarket location but on the younger-side of atmosphere, loud, sticky floors but a good afternoon vib. Average priced drinks for the location. Good for a quick visit, but although we didn't get any food there, I'm not sure it's somewhere I'd choose to eat, but would reco6for a beer or two.

Arrived at 16:55 for bottomless brunch at 17:00. Was seated within a couple of minutes while a table was set. No tables upstairs in the restaurant so ended up on a table next to the dance floor /DJ. Not a great start. By 17:15 we’d not even been given a menu or any drinks order taken. The staff seemed flustered and displayed zero customer service, just wandering around aimlessly chatting to each other. At 17:20 we were eventually given a menu and asked if we’d like a drink. (20 minutes into a 90 minute bottomless brunch). At this point, we could see which way the night was going. Waitress couldn’t hear us talk to take our order so I decided to leave. She agreed that the service was poor and replied, “yeah I wouldn’t be happy either”. I think that said it all. No apology or attempt to resolve so we left. Extremely disappointing and I’ll definitely not be returning.

Absolutely disgusting, declared multiple times I was coeliac and it was pushed to the the side! No allergy folder was provided or anything! Will not be returning despite been before!!

Good solid venue with delicious food. More a bar that serves good food, rather than a restaurant that serves booze.

A fab bottomless brunch, 11 ladies in total and the drinks did not stop flowing and the food was tasty , we didn’t have to wait once for a drink. Hazel was amazing always smiling and very welcoming, We will definitely be returning

We did not try the food so can not comment but stopped off for a quick cocktail with the ladies and spent 5 hours sat outside in the sunshine sampling every cocktail on the menu. Beth was very accommodating, friendly and a joy to be served by. I only leave reviews if the service was particularly good and she was a absolute star. Keep hold of that one Soba!

Despite booking online for me and a mate before a gig there was no record of the booking. This after giving over my card details. They found us a table but having waited 30 minutes to order we just sacked it off - to be honest it was a bad choice of a booking - the place is absolute carnage and the pictures on the site are so misleading. Won’t be going back, chav central this place.

Just been for bottom less brunch got to say absolutely 💯 they were full to the brim with people food not so good but a massive shout out to matt and Danielle who went out of there way to make everyone and everything spot on they were so short staffed however they made sure we got our drinks on time hopefully it got quiet so they could have a breather well done matt and Danielle you deserve a medal xx see you in the future 😀

Ok so we booked for a bottomless brunch and I must say the service was good and they kept the drinks running however, the drinks were sooo sweet( I have a sweet tooth) but it felt like there was more syrup than anything. Also every time they bought us a bottle of prosecco it was like warm never cold. Then the food my gosh it was awful! We tried to order bao buns but told there wasn’t any left despite it being mid day? then ordered the chicken burgers and the chicken in the bun was about the size of a 50p coin and very dry meanwhile the burger bun was about the size of my head, no sauce in there. My friend ordered the pad thai and that was not nice and honestly tasted like it had been cooked about a week ago. At least the servers where nice and the alcohol was flowing but they NEED to work on quality! The food and drinks need work.

We attended a bottomless brunch back on the 8th of April. Our server was called Victoriaa (spelled as shown on receipt) and she was AMAZING! She made it one of the best brunches we had been on. So attentive for rounds of drinks and great to chat too! Food was lovely we added fries too. Would 100% recommend!

Bottomless brunch yesterday was fantastic, great food and portions, added chips on as well. Served by a great member of staff, Victoria, definitely added to our great visit and was excellent at keeping the drinks going!

Showed up at 12 am on a Saturday and asked them what time they shut and if I was okay to come they said that I’m okay to come in because it shuts at 3am so I waved over my boyfriend and my brother and once they came up next to me the bouncer said no way “they way too drunk to be allowed in” - this shows that this is the type of bar that only cares about the ratio of girls and boys with a lot of money. I will never be going back to a bar in Greek street again - every bar is full of portentous boys and girls. Biggest ick ever

I went here for the first time never noticed the restaurant before so had a lovely time the atmosphere was chill the music was great and the food was very delicious thank you kindly the drinks where lovely especially the one created by Matt, I do apologise if the name is spelled wrong 😅 i did want a bloody mary saldy they didn't have any tomatoe juice hah so he told me that he'd get me something random and it was an absolute roller coaster of flavours very lovely drink!. Every single staff there was kind and attentive would definitely go there again!

Had a lads day out, went for bottomless brunch as a previous experience was really good. Today was even better, great food, great service, and Matt especially sorted us out with drinks on a regular basis. 100% will come again when we next come to Leeds 🙏

Experience wasn't great. I could make a long list of everything that went wrong with our evening. You need to step it up. It used to be a great place to eat.

Just been for a friends birthday to Leeds Bar Soba. Despite preordering food as it was a big group they couldn’t meet all the orders and some people didn’t actually end up with food. Glasses for the Prosecco were dity and we had to keep asking so we had enough for the whole group and the cocktails were watered down. Only paid full price so the staff were not penalised as they were trying to do their best despite it being a complete shambles. Avoid this place and definitely the bottomless brunch as never had such a bad experience.

Booked for bottomless brunch and the service was absolutely shocking. Would not recommend. Service was awful and we were left waiting for drinks for around 20 mins every time. We had to move table MID MEAL which then meant our drinks got sent to the wrong table. Has to constantly flag down servers to chase drink orders. Appreciate that is was a busy Saturday however, the venue should be staffed correctly to manage the bookings and walk ins. The server did offer us a discount and drinks on the house to apologise which we did appreciate however, it shouldn’t have had to come to that result in the first place.

Harvey served us for bottomless brunch and I could not sing his praises more! So attentive and made sure we always had our glasses topped up. All the staff were lovely and a brilliant brunch. Would high recommend!

Credit to Benji for his brilliant bar performance. He has lots of flare and charm, very friendly and smiley when serving. The food is delicious here, and drinks are great also. Would highly recommend :) great experience overall, thanks Benji

Unfortunately this is a rare one for me to leave a negative review however I feel my experience needs to be shared. Came as a group of 11 for the brunch on a Saturday afternoon at 2 to celebrate a birthday, first drinks order was taken at 2:25 and was still waiting at 2:50. We asked a waitress how long and was brought some complementary prosecco and lagers. Cocktails finally arrived around 3:00, food arrived shortly after and was brought to the end of the table to be passed around by the guests not the waitress. An order of drinks was then taken which never arrived and when asking how long the waitress said they would check. Out came some complementary Sols (not what we ordered!). When they came back to collect the plates we asked where the drinks were and the waitress took our order again. Another round of drinks that never turned up! My wife then stopped a waiter and asked him where the drinks were and that we had only been brought one round of drinks, his response was pretty poor. He insisted our table had more than enough drinks brought to it! Yes mostly stuff we didn't order! When she pointed this out he told her to stop shouting or he wasn't going to assist further! They had stuck us in the corner of the room with 4 large speakers blaring music out how they expect you to communicate is beyond me! However he then left and brought back more bottles of Sol! When challenged on this and where our actual order of drinks that we had ordered 50 minutes ago he said your time is up and he didn't even have to do this! Very poor experience of service received and this mixed with the dry katsu chicken curry and the burger coming in a wrap instead of a bun means I am extremely unlikely to recommend this to anyone or return.

Worst Bar in Leeds Never experienced anything like the service we received at Bar Soba, Leeds. To say it was chaotic would be a huge understatement. Whoever is responsible for hiring the staff should really put a more rigorous vetting process in place, as none of them seemed to know what basic customer service is. Had a Bottomless Brunch booked for 15/10/22 at 3pm. We rang the venue at around 1pm on the same day and asked if we could push it back to 4pm, the lady on the phone said that shouldn't be a problem. Arrived at the venue at 10 to 4. The vibe was absolute chaos from the moment we got there. Staff were running around like headless chickens. There must have been about 15 people stood at the front door waiting to be seated. When we finally spoke to a member of staff we explained that we'd changed our original booking from 3pm to 4pm. They said it hadn't been changed and we'd have to wait for a table to become free. We were finally seated at quarter to 5 and didn't get our first drink until 5pm. Drinks took an age to come, had to ask 3 or 4 times for each drink we ordered. During our brunch, we grabbed the attention of a waiter named Benj and told him our experience so far had been shocking. He encouraged us to mention his name when we were given our bill and he would make sure we would get a discount off the total amount. A member of staff named Sophie came over with our bill once we were ready to pay. We mention Benj, she walked off to double check, came back and basically said we were lying about the discount. I explained our full experience to her and the only excuse she could muster was that it was a Saturday night and they were extremely busy. She handled the complaint atrociously and at one point during the conversation had to walk away to calm down. We asked to speak to a member of higher management. She grabbed what I assumed was the manager who said he's too busy to speak to us. She ended the conversation with "you can either walk out and we'll charge your card or you can pay full price now because we won't be giving you a discount." Not wanting to be petty and continue what was quite clearly a very pointless conversation, we settled the bill at full price and left.

Absolutely awful. Booked a table, was waiting over an hour. Got seated (was meant to be there for a bottomless brunch) took 20 minutes. Server told us he would give us a discount for poor service. Came to getting the bill and we were told server didn’t say that and no discount. Honestly could not do anything worse about the place. Sophie the server had an awful attitude. I hate complaining about people and places because I am very much aware of how hard it is to work in customer service but this was my worst ever experience. -55555

Can’t believe how awful the service was. Absolutely disgusting. Staff were completely disrespectful and condescending. Never experienced anything like it in my life. You would think after waiting over an hour for our table and slow service we would receive an apology but received the complete opposite. Don’t waste your time.

The customer service was disgusting. I was so disappointed as I was expecting a nice brunch for my friends birthday. Instead we have all left very upset and £30 down for 3 drinks and uncooked pink chicken. I will not be returning.

Came here for a bottomless brunch. Started at 3/30 and by 4:30 we had only 2 drinks served to us by this time. At 5oclock we then got our 3rd drink, the chicken burgers that my friends ordered were pink and we were told it was supposed to be like that. We were sat for ages with no drinks during our brunch, every time we ordered a drink they never arrived, had to ask again and again. I had an awful time here! My food was awful and staff refused to give me my money back. When I complained that my dish was not the same as on the menu the staff kicked up a fuss, refused to give my money back and walked away. The menu said an “omelette” came with my meal and never did so I enquired about this. The staff said the chef would cook me an omelette and then she served me some scrambled egg with chilli and nuts. I had an awful time and wasted my money!!!

Really enjoyed our experience it was our first time we was served by Sophie she was very polite respectful young lady. We will definitely be coming again.

Would love to give a review on the food/drinks. However, after standing in the doorway for 20 minutes without being spoken to, we left. 2 waiters running around like headless chickens serving about 100 people. Why book in more people than you can manage?

Absolutely astonishing how bad this place is we were booked in at 4 first drink at 4.30 food at 10 past 6 even tho we were supposed to leave at 5.30 and the service has been absolutely appalling I would give ZERO stars if I could

It's been a while since I visited the place. But we went today with a few guy mates. We got served by a server telling us because we were guys the service wouldn't be good. My friend asked about the cocktails and was told we butted in and to be quiet. When it came to paying the bill she came over saying " give me money, give me money". Then once I payed threw the bill in my face. Worst service in Leeds!!! Would not recommend.

Booked a bottomless brunch here for our anniversary and we Was stood at the bar for 15 minutes after our booking time, still trying to get someone’s attention to even acknowledge us, never mind sit us down. We had to wait for a table to become free even though we had booked, as there wasn’t one available for us they said. We then got sat down finally, and for the full booking we only had our original drink when we sat down, and someone only came back once more in the whole 90 minutes to get us our second order of drinks. Paid £35 for 2 orders when it was supposed to be bottomless. Very disappointed and completely wasted our money here.

Bottomless brunch was okay. The drinks were great and the service was fast, but the food that came out.. My chicken burger had a tiny piece of chicken no bigger than a chicken nugget in it. I mentioned it to the staff who remade it, and it was great then. I had no complaints afterwards, but my friends said their food wasnt great. I'd come back and give it another go, but I'd probably order something different. The staff were great though, super kind and attentive.

Had a lovely time here, the bouncer was a lovely chatty man. Had good banter while we was outside having a cigarette. Music was decent and was lovely to see so many young couples and old friends on their reunion opposite from our tables. Service was reasonably quick to get to us when you ordered. Came here yesterday for bottomless brunch and had a really bad experience. I’ve eaten here once before and the waitress forgot to put out food order on the system (the restaurant was almost empty) resulting in our food taking a long long time to arrive. However I thought it may just be a one off and decided to give them another chance however I was so wrong to. Same situation happened again one of our party’s food didn’t arrive for a long long time and the waitress’s weren’t collecting finished plates and glasses. This meant tables were heaped with glasses and plates and the waitresses also seemed to be avoiding taking drinks orders for the bottomless brunch even with many people in the restaurant having empty glasses. As another table was leaving I noticed one of the waitresses having a go at a table of girls for taking selfies as she was worried she was in the background of them. After two really bad experiences here with the staff being unprofessional and rude, I won’t be visiting again
