They have a wide selection menu which can be overwhelming but staff was there for assistance, hot chocolate and turkey xmas baguette tasted great

The breakfast looked like it was made without love never seen anything like it hash brown was soggy not edible will not be visiting again anytime soon!

Absolute ripoff nearly £6 for two thin slices of pork hardly no apple sauce and a pound of suffering . DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY

My go to cafe, would recommend. It serves very good food at reasonable prices. There are vegan, veggie and gluten free options. Soups, baked potato’s, sandwiches, salads, cakes. Friendly staff, good location and a welcoming clean space to sit down.

Went for breakfast and bought a sandwich for lunch. Lovely simple bacon bap for breakfast, but the chicken and bacon sandwich was the best I've ever had. Customer service was also excellent - very friendly man on the counter. Excellent value

Got breakfast here every day during our stay in Leicester. Delicious, reasonably priced breakfast with good coffee. As good as the food and coffee are, the best part about this place is the staff. They’re all so kind and lovely. They really brightened my mornings.

I ordered a chicken pesto and mozzarella panini and it was absolutely delicious! While I waited the staff engaged in conversation and they were kind and friendly. I would definitely order from here again. I recommend this to EVERYONE! <3

First of all the Staff are very pleasant. Portion sizes are OK. Timing is the key with this place as most of the breakfast ingredients are stored on the hot counter which leads to sometimes dried-out bacon, the sausages are not the best quality and can at times look a touch anemic whilst having little snap or texture. No Black pudding on the menu. Eggs are freshly prepared to order and have been good each time poached or fried. Toast is good though small if brown ordered. I don't know how they do it but the tea is very good!! Many types of bread to choose from and an array of fillings throughout the day. Real HP sauce is available rather than rubbish brown sauce, well done. Want to give more stars for the Owners/Staff as they are great, especially the Lady behind counter/serving, but an improved sausage is required. We will go back though.

100% recommend this place for your breakfast. Best place to go in the morning, cheap and quality food it’s a no brainer. Save your money going MacDonalds etc got to this place, Amazing owners such lovely people too. 5 stars!!!!

It's a really nice little place to eat, a small town style cafe place in a city centre. The food is beautiful. I usually get a baguette and a bottle of Coke and it's a nice lil lunch, they're really passionate about the food in there and it's a place I'd recommend to anyone.

Small, but perfectly formed! Very friendly staff, great selection of filled rolls, amongst other items and my particular favourite: vegetarian breakfast, to eat in, all at a very reasonable price.

how hard is it to make a chicken, mayo wrap? DIDNT have any mayo on!! how hard is it to make a salad wrap with mayo? DIDNT have any mayo on! There was 3 customers waiting to be served and only 1 person serving whilst the other 2 employees were sitting down chatting, 1 of which was the manager! Shows how clueless theses people are about running a business. People that work there have faces like slapped arses, they need to LEARN some CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! DO NOT DESERVE THE BUSINESS. WILL NOT BE GOING BACK!!

As usual you are made to wait ages for a simple take-out. One of the staff always has to ask you at least twice what you require. The owner has to be the most unfriendly boss to run a business and charges are applied to debit cards under £5 regardless of how much you spend over the year eating in. They never answer the phone to take orders . Two of the regular staff that have been there for ages are really helpful and chatty. Shame about the owner ! Be careful using the HP / Heinz sauces as they are filled up using cheaper versions but, using the old bottles.

Really good quality, spent £5.10 had a nice sandwich, drink and a proper pack of crisp! You could go to subway next door, have a decent sandwich and a drink! Support local or support corporate your choice!

We were going to go and find a Pret a Manger to grab a bite to eat, when you want something simple and good it's a safe a bet as you going to get, but on the way we passed by this place and what a gem, we went three times in 24 hours for a breakfast, a light snack and once just for coffee and cake. So blooming friendly, food fantastic, choice amazing, we always try to support independents if we can find one that looks the part and this place was EVERYTHING you want a sandwhich bar to be and then some!

Excellent, independent, good value. Very convenient location, for buses, city centre, High Cross etc. Nice people. Daily specials. Try it!

From J Boy of Derby I usually have lunch in here when visiting Leicester. The jacket potatoes and baguettes are brilliant food is served promptly with friendly staff. The prices are very reasonable, there are some seats inside with a few more outside if the weather is good. It does get very busy at lunchtimes which proves how good it is. The location is superb right on the edge of Jubilee Square minutes walk from the cathedral and Richard 111 visitor centre.

I come here daily for lunch whilst at work and it is fast becoming my favourite place! I usually have the soup which is always gorgeous! Occasionally I have a panini. So much choice and excellent quality and taste! Definitely recommend!

I went here to get a bowl of the cheese and cauliflower soup that I saw advertised,I don't know if it was the type of cheese used or if it went off earlier in the day but it tasted horrible !! And left a nasty aftertaste in my mouth so I had to throw it away.......£3.00 down the drain 😀😦😣😖😖😠😡

WHEELCHAIR ACCESS - YES but not advisable due to the narrowness of the door and cramped floor space. Purists are correct in thinking that the breakfasts provided by the Bar Sandwich cannot and do not compare to those provided by the Maiyango Restaurant - 3 doors down the street. For people with little time on their hands, the Bar Sandwich is perfect and for less than half-the-price of its more illustrious peer. On the corner - sandwiched between Hotel Maiyango’s entrance vestibule and Maiyango’s wine tasting operation. Open from 06.00 to 15.00. Closed at weekends. The staff are so chatty and smiley that grumpy early morning moods are quickly dispelled.

Had breakfast here and found it exceptionally enjoyable. Only had a breakfast sandwich but it was excellent both in terms of taste and quality. The menu is extensive including vegetarian and vegan options, and the people really friendly. Would not hesitate to eat there again. Overall very good value for money and open early.

I'm a regular customer. Friendly staff, reasonable prices and good selection. Food always fresh and tasty and home made cakes. Baguettes and granery baps are good but the white baps are significantly smaller which is a shame, you'd need 2 to touch the sides.

As a coeliac I am used to being disappointed when wanting to grab something to eat on the go, normally I end up with a bag of crisps! We nipped in to Bar Sandwich today and I was over the moon to see they had colour coded food showing what was gluten free, and I could actually have a sandwich which was really great! It's so exciting and such a relief when you find somewhere that is sympathetic to dietary requirements and tries to offer a big range of food. I ended up having a poached egg and bacon toasted sandwich which was delicious and reasonably priced too. To top it all off, the staff were extremely friendly and we're sharing their local knowledge too. 10/10 - thank you!

Some places you visit are totall different when you visit again after a while. Not this one! It stayed the same and I'm very happy about it. Good quality food, be it breakfast or a quick lunch, always served with a warm smile and a nice chat going along with it. I would always, always come back again and again.

This is a cafe with a difference- very freindly staff and a good range of lunchtime fare. If you are visiting Leicester and want a great value lunch this is the place. If you are staying at the Travelodge, walk 100 yards to Jubilee Square for a superb breakfast.Excellent range of sandwiches too, Try the hot goats chesse and tomato!

We went in there for breakfast on a rainy Friday morning and were really positively surprised. Very good staff, they stayed calm although there were a lot of guests queuing and we had been served a delicious breakfast in almost an instant. Seating possibilities are limited, of course, but seemed to be okay, as many ordered their snacks for take away. Would always return and give it another go!

Spent the night in Leicester and stopped here for sandwiches to see us through the next days travelling. Staff were friendly &amp; helpful, and the choice was fantastic. Great value for money &amp; we wish we'd visited for breakfast instead of eating in the Travelodge. Next time, we'll know where to go.
