Bar Pintxos in Preston

Lots of places do pretend tapas but this is quite unique.Always enjoy our leisurely long .meals with a bottle of red.

Great food and service. The prices are reasonable for the quality. It was very quiet for a Friday evening, which is a shame as this place deserves to be full

Arrived went to bar where we we were welcomed and sat down had dirty martini and a vodka martini to kick our evening off. Ordered 3 dishes from ala carte menu to start which were absolutely delicious great ambience and Kat who owned the bar was a delight. Ordered 3 more tasty dishes accompanying it with spanish Rose and beer which had us beat finished with coffee which was a perfect end. When I go back I will be having their sherry!! This place is my go to from now on I suggest you see for yourself what Jay Rayner saw in this restaurant. Perfect 👌

The food was okay the service was diabolical the waiters got the dishes mixed up and then as we were half way through eating the waiter said you pay sir I told him that I hadn't asked for my bill he insisted I pay until he realised it was the wrong table I won't be returning to bar pintxos

Came here for a date night with my partner, staff not welcoming, didn’t explain that you have to order on an app so we were sat waiting to order for a while, general atmosphere not very nice, food okay.

Wow what can I say?! Third time we have been here, but this time was definitely the best. The staff were very knowledgeable and friendly and made us feel so welcome. The atmosphere was wonderful. My husband and I had a great time- first kid free date night in a while! The food was great! All in all a fabulous evening. Thank you, we will be back, most probably next week!

Really good entertaining and educational evening, at the Sherry tasting event. Would recommend Bar Pintxos for its quality, across the board.

Not bad, as you enter it does have a lovely feeling looks very Spanish with a modern touch. Downside is only one toilet which is shared, not checked regularly judging by last night’s visit. Food was ok but not a wide range to choose from. What we had was ok a lot of cheese options if you like cheese. Menus need changing food all of them, does not look good. Staff ok but only do half a job , asked if we would like our table clearing we said yes only for half the empty plates taken away. Would give it a second chance to be fair.

Superb sherry tasking evening - terrific sherries, amazing hosting by Antonio who was not just a sherry expert but fantastic and funny raconteur. Cat and the Bar Pintxos team were perfect hosts delivering faultless service and fantastic tapas to that would have been at home in a Michelin venue to match the wines. All in all brilliant evening and atmosphere. Can't wait till the next event.

I have been here twice with my friend and it's simply exceptional. They have an extensive gluten free selection including the nicest gluten free bread I have ever tried. The Gambas pil pil is perfectly cooked and juicy and a must try. Beer and wine and sherry and port were all top notch. Service was excellent and overall eye for detail was outstanding. You must go here.

Food was delicious, service was attentive and friendly and we all had a lovely meal. Would recommend booking in advance for food, the ciabatta bread and the Ribera del Duero.

Every visit is amazing! Food is delicious - even better when there is special requests made a few days prior (requested Iberico Ribs - its a must try for anyone!)

The food is good. I have the luck to travel for my work very often to Spain and the taste in pinxtos is very good. The prices for the drinks are crazy. A tinto de verano, cheap wine with caseras blanca or limon , in spain maximum 2,5 -2,75 and here 8,5 £ I know the UK is more expensive but 3 times the price, that is a scam. Atmosphere, every time a meal is ready in the kitchen , you here a loud ding dang dong bell, very frustrating

My husband and I visited this establishment for the first time tonight and it was absolutely SUPERB! The food, the service and the general ambience of this place were excellent. We have eaten a LOT of Tapas and Pintxos over the years during our many, many trips to Spain and these were amongst the best we have ever had! We will most certainly be visiting Bar Pintxos again very soon!! Thank you for your fabulous hospitality ❤️

Excellent food, nice idea with pintxos and an authentic Spanish tapas bar approach - unfortunately the very small table we were sat at couldn’t fit all of the tapas we ordered - which wasn’t that much! Luckily a staff member allowed us to move onto the much bigger table behind us, which was a lot better…. That was until a non-paying rather drunk and urine-smelling man was allowed to sit on the table behind us, which dramatically cut short our visit. Once again, we couldn’t fault the food, its just not nice eating desserts with the smell of urine lingering onto our table, and after only one small attempt to ask the man to leave, you’d hope the staff would’ve tried a bit more.

Visited again last evening for Max's birthday, this is our 5th visit and once again everything was perfect. Wine, food, service and asked if they had Scallops but unfortunately they did not however the manager informed me that in future if I called a couple of days in advance she would obtain any requests that we had, bloody perfect.

What an amazing place I am sad I have never ventured in previously. Just been to a cocktail making class with tapas and all I can say is BLOODY WOW. Food, atmosphere, staff, music, drinks are all just out of this world. What a fabulous place we have in Preston. If you haven’t been you are missing out big time. Will be back very soon Cat. My sisters and I had a lovely time at your little Spanish restaurant. The cocktails were amazing and the tapas was delicious. I have to say the service was second to none .Very helpful while helping us to choose. We also enjoyed the Spanish music playing in the background.

Amazing food and great service, we were just a bit cold at the back of the restaurant, but we would have no hesitation in highly recommending Pinxtos. Tortilla the best we’ve had, really good cheese platter.

We popped into Bar Pintxos on my birthday lunchtime as we were looking for somewhere with delicious food and good vibes on a rainy Monday. What a treat! We felt very lucky as it was close to closing time and the owner and chef were very friendly and accommodating, they welcomed us with smiles and couldn’t have done more for us. The sangria was the best we’ve ever had. The food was to die for. The service was attentive and the manager was lovely. We can’t wait to go back, a little slice of Spain that makes you forget you’re actually in the centre of Preston. Would highly recommend and we will be back soon 🥪🍹🍷❤️

This charming spot offers an array of incredibly delicious dishes that did not disappoint. The staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. The Sangria is also truly extraordinary.

Went for Sunday lunch and it was a brilliant experience. Food, wine, the lot. Big shout out to the front of house who gave us a wine tasting that was quite surprising and led us to choose a wine we would never previously have considered

Lovely staff, they fawn over cute dogs, the Victoria Malaga was quaffable, the pintxos amazing and fresh from the oven mushroom empanadillas out of the this world

Most times I've visited the service and food was very good. Most recently visited on a Saturday and took nearly 40 minutes to recieve drinks from when we sat down with only a half full restaurant which was disappointing, food was still very good however.

The worse microwave meal tapas I've ever had! Came here a couple of years ago which was excellent, what a shame its not the same since the new owners took over. Young kids serving which isn't an issue until you explain the food is tepid and rubbery, but i suppose some kids are used to food like that nowadays, the food was awful, wrinkled and tepid warm at best. Dispite the owners review comments we actually sent a third of the cooked tapas back of 4 dishes being a patatas bravas, 2 prawn dishes and meatballs, we wasn't even offered a fresh replacement for 2 of them which speaks volumes, the 2 prawns came back hotter but seemed freshly microwaved and very rubbery sat in luke warm oil ... not sizzling like they should be when pan fried. My other diners were too hungry and too embarrassed to add more complaints so they just ate the rest of theirs which the staff took as a sign that the meal was okay. I see the owner has left a follow up review but they wasn't even there to see the issues, yes we may have ordered 20 dishes but you can't really spoil 2 dishes of olives, 1 dish of pickles, 4 dishes of bread, and 4 cold deserts, so that explains to the owners why some dishes wasn't returned. Yes we left a tip for the waitress as she was so courteous, and yes we ordered a desserts because we were so hungry after leaving most of what we were served. What concerns me most is the owner has left a follow up response defending the poor food when they wasnt even there to take on board to see the issues rather than being apologetic, in response to the owner I refer to 2 years ago when the previous owner ran this restaurant, so those who are choosing this restaurant based on previous reviews do so at your own peril. I've never left a bad review before but felt on this occasion it is justified.

Pintxos is probably my most favourite place to come for drinks and tapas whether it be afternoon on a Friday or weekend evening. The food has always been spot on, I can't get enough of the original pintxos small bites, each plate is so tasty and unique. it's an absolute hidden gem of preston and a must visit. I had the steak and chimchurri, prawn and kimchi and the Gilda which were all amazing. The waitress was very attentive and walked me through the menu highlighting the popular options. I look forward to coming back again.

Sadly I don't think, considering the economic climate, it was value for money. The wine was excellent, as was the tortilla, but the rest, although decent is not worth the cost. To spend over £100 for a couple and be tempted by Micks Hut on the way home is disappointing. Make the portions more generous, relocate to Penwortham, and you'll do well.

Great Spanish bar opposite the Harris building. Friendly staff and great choice of drinks, with unusual beers and loads of Sherry. So glad it's reopened.

Fantastic evening meal with family, and excellent service from Alexandra and Maria. Nothing was too much trouble, we weren't rushed, and the food was very tasty. I would say it is on the more expensive side for the size of the pinchos and tapas dishes, but I'd still come back given the service and atmosphere too!

Was really excited to come here in the beginning because I love tapas, but this place is a definite no go. The girl with long black hair and glasses serving us was just rude the whole time. She basically blamed us for asking where our drinks were when they had taken so long to come after ordering, snapping that 'she was the only one on the bar' while quite happily going around very slowly and not doing much. She also treated us like idiots for not knowing that in Spain a tortilla was an omelette, and made up some nonsense about how (tor-tea-a) was an omelette and (tor-till-a) were crisps lol. The (very small) dishes all came out 15 minutes apart from one another, with all the side dishes like bread and potatoes long before any of the meat (and the blonde female chef spent at least 15 minutes speaking to customers instead of cooking..???) and the chicken was just completely inedible - full of skin, fat and gristle. I do have to say the potatoes and tortilla were very tasty and a good choice of dish. The mulled sangria was also served cold which was confusing, although it was tasty. When we told them that we weren't happy with the food or service they blamed us for not telling them sooner instead of offering any solution. This would never happen in my place of work!! Crazy service. Won't be going again, and would far from recommend.

Friendly place with knowledgeable staff

Managed to reserve a table for 2 on a Saturday despite only booking it two hours before. Pintxos is somewhere me and my partner had wanted to try for a while but never had the time and what a bar we’d been missing out on. The food, service and bar staff were all on point, our waitress Alex knew exactly how to host, was chatty and welcoming. The food was superb would recommend goats cheese and fig before tucking into the tapas, and if you like olives you’re in for a treat with their house dressing. It seemed like the kind of environment where everybody enjoyed their job and it did wonders for the atmosphere. The bar staff took genuine interest in the drinks they were serving to the point of expressing what drinks he recommended for the region of spain on our upcoming holiday. Would also recommend keeping an eye on the sangria jar, if you’re lucky enough, it’ll be almost empty and the barman will pour an obscene amount of alcohol in you jug! Will definitely be returning.

A very quiet Monday night did not stop us from having a great time at Bar Pintxos. Very friendly and helpful staff, great food cooked freshly for us and a jug of amazing white sangria which has to be tasted to be fully appreciated, made for a great evening. Will definitely come back.

Having been to San Sebastian recently I was desperate to find a similar kind of Basque cuisine in the UK. We drove from south Manchester to try this place and it really didn't disappoint. The staff were lovely and the food was fantastic. None of the 4 of us could fault any of it. Well, perhaps the lack of a pork belly dish! Wonderful. Will be back!

The best tapas and pintxos I have ever had. Every mouthful was sublime. Incredible and unusual cocktails which were absolutely delicious. Fantastically authentic Spanish vibes and served with passion and lots of interesting chat at the bar with the owner. Loved it. Go here, you won't regret it. Get the crayfish pintxos and the croqetas and the gambas and the pollo & pancetta. Yum!

Enjoy your drink but the food is nothing to be proud off. Not enjoyable at all. Need to go somewhere else to cleanse my pallet. Sorry but not good.

We booked as a party of ten and we’re treated like kings. Delicious pre-ordered nibbles and Pintxos were served soon after arrival alongside drinks. The tapas choices went down really well and like the earlier dishes, the food was filling and sumptuous. Complimenting the food was the excellent friendly service throughout. Thank you for a great evening and we’ll definitely be returning.

Warm friendly place shame they have been forced to stop displaying food on the counter like they do in Northern Spain where it originates.

Me and my partner came last night and we loved it. The food was delicious and the drinks were great. The sangria is to die for. The atmosphere is lovely and the staff are really attentive. Such a lovely dining experience. We were served my Alexandra and she made us feel so welcome! The drinks were beautiful and a great balance with the food we devoured. Absolutely superb. Authentic tapas served in the correct manner by knowledgeable and passionate owners. Carefully selected and quality wine list, well stocked bar (including Licor 43!). Restaurants like this are very rare in Preston, what a joy!

Preston isn't the sort of town you'd expect an authentic Pintxos bar to work but the passion of the staff and the quality of the food really do make it work

The place is very quaint, friendly and suprisingly not busy for late lunch on a Friday. My server was Milly, she was extremely polite.. going as far as saying my pronunciation of the dishes was perfect... Even though we both know it wasn't. Now down to the food and drink.... As follows 1, jamon and manchego £3.00 it was lovely, as expected the salty tastes from the jamon and cheese sat well with the el ninot de paper tinto wine... Just yum. 2, calamares... Superb the light batter with saffron alioli sat wonderful with a nice Victoria Málaga larger. Sweet and salty calamari with a lightly hoppy beer... Epic. 3, garlic mushrooms... Well they speak for themselves. Will go with any any pairing..... The suprise of all surprises is 4, Gambas Pil Pil... The prawns in a light white wine and moderately spicy sauce, it blew my mind in depth... In hind sight I should of paired it with a lighter wine than the one above. That said nothing can take away from the beauty of this dish. It's turned up to 11. Staff.. I mentioned Milly, she was attentive and very respectfully. A great front and face to a wonderful place. Cat chef patron, I had a lovely conversation with her. She clearly understands the culture and flavours of the food she is preparing. We exchanged with how perceptions of food vary by culture... Very insightful. This is a must go ..... 5 🌟 easy

Finally visited Pintxos for the first time last night. Went as a group of six. We arrived first and the waitress was so friendly and chatty. She seated us and gave us menus to look at while we waited. The service all night was incredible and the chef even served some of the dishes. Food was delicious and was around £20 per head too. Wonderful place and can’t wait to be back.

Coffee was the best, and the Tapas was delish.

Decided to pop into Pintoxs for a few light bites after visiting Winkley Square gardens. They had lovely, authentic Spanish music playing and we were greeted as soon as we walked in. We opted for a couple of dishes which were all very tasty, the prawns were nice and spicy and the chimichurri had even more of a kick. We also ordered a jug of freshly made Sangria. I look forward to visiting again and trying more dishes.

I had booked a reservation for mine and my wife's 12th wedding anniversary here after hearing good things about this restaurant. Upon turning up we was tried to be put on a table no bigger than an A5 piece of paper, no exaggeration. We asked if we could sit outside to the response of "Yeah if there's a table" off a snotty young lad. So we went to the table to be then covered in a cleaning detergent spray while he cleaned the said table. After this his response to questioning about ordering was " you need to go to the bar as we won't take orders outside " Truly shocking service as we were closer to the bar than the back of the restaurant. After asking another member of staff about this, to which she agreed, I gave our menus back and walked out. Absolutely shocking level of service to customers that had pre booked for a meal for a celebration to be treated with utter contempt by staff that couldn't seem to care less. Would never, ever recommend this place.

Absolutely amazing food, tender calamari and the best Patatas Bravas I’ve ever had in my life. Brilliant tasty cocktails and staff are happy to take the time to talk to you about the menu and drinks, absolutely 10/10 would recommend.
