Bar Limon in Malvern Hills

Excellent service and food. I booked a table a week in advance prior to the Film Orchestra performance at the nearby Priory in Great Malvern. On arrival in Great Malvern the Town Council in all their wisdom had organised their Christmas Lights festival for the same day. Cue mayhem for access and parking. Bar Limon were very busy, but the waitresses coped magnificently. We were given time to settle in before being asked for drinks order, then time to view the menu before our orders were taken. Although we only had snacks the food was really nice. Prices were very good. Will use again at the next performance. Recommended.

Disappointing visit to Bar Limon. Have been many times and have always been happy with the food and service. Food portions have got smaller, but prices have gone up. Halloumi dish was just 2 thin slices of halloumi with one tomato cut in half placed on top. It used to be around 4 good slices of Halloumi served with sliced tomatoes and basil. No basil on the dish last night, and the spinach dishes had been removed from the menu. The charge for the Halloumi dish was £7.00. Had to wait ages for one Halloumi dish and for a bowl of frites that had to be chased twice with the waiting staff. Did feed back to¡ the waiting staff at the time but didn't get an explanation for the smaller portions sizes and the higher prices. It was such a shame and so disappointing as it was a great place to eat.

We held our Wedding Ceremony & Reception at Bar Limon and couldn’t have asked for more. We wanted a relaxed, non-traditional day which Lucy & team accommodated perfectly. We had 22 adults, 8 kids and 2 dogs and every one had a wonderful time, complimenting the food, drink and atmosphere. We went for tapas and it just kept coming! Every dish was delicious and the whole party gave the Chef a standing ovation. The bar itself is beautifully decorated and the garden is lovely. The service was perfect and the team were so friendly and welcoming. We came away from the day feeling so satisfied, it was everything we wanted. Thank you so much - we will be back soon!

Loved it. Don’t know why it’s taken us so long to go there. Food was beautifully cooked, absolutely delicious plus good varied vegetarian dishes. Pre/theatre menu is value too. Atmosphere; we loved the music, decor and artwork supporting local artists on display. Great to see an independent restaurant so busy. We shall we returning many more times for sure.

First time visiting on a busy Thursday evening. We had an issue with seating when we arrived as there was no way we could have fitted into the seats they wanted us to due to the guitarist and other diners so it was disappointing we were then seated basically in the corridor. Despite this, we ordered a variety of tapas dishes and we enjoyed them all. The service was great and seemed to be a good atmosphere. We would eat here again when we are next in the area.

Can't fault what we had to eat and there was a real vibe about the place; our party of four all had a lovely evening. However, we all felt the portion sizes were small for what was charged. Personally I was still hungry even after sharing 12 dishes plus the bread option. Would I go again, yes because what we had was lovely just not very fullsome.

Found this place whilst visiting Worcestershire for a short break. Lovely food and friendly staff. Highly recommended. Will definitely visit again if in the area.

Way too much parsley on everything. Not sure why? Never had food in Spain with this much parsley. I actually think if I eat parsley again I will spontaneously combust.

I’ve visited here a couple of times now. I visited back in January and most recently last month with my boyfriend and grandparents. The food was alright both times but I will say that the sauce based dishes tend to be slightly on the watery side as well as a little bland. The sauce in the meatballs and the chicken honestly need a little more reducing. If you order these, make sure to get a side of bread to mop up sauce otherwise your plate will be swimming in liquid. Also the dishes don’t tend to be very hot when they come out which I noticed more on my second visit. The chicken was only slightly warm and so was the sauce for the meatballs. They kind of go cold half way through your meal which isn’t pleasant. The croquetas have been a good temperature on both occasions as well as the empanadas and patatas bravas. The halloumi unfortunately tends to be lukewarm as well. The atmosphere and decor is quite nice in this place. It has the mediterranean feel as well as having a cozy atmosphere. Service was good on my first visit but it wasn’t as good recently. The servers were perfectly nice but our request for more bread went completely forgotten. When we realised that they likely forgot to put an order through for more bread, we were near the end of our meal anyway so we let it go and checked the bill to make sure we hadn’t been charged. The decor, atmosphere, and convenient location to the theatre is the best part of this restaurant and for those reasons, I would recommend a visit. I would just advise to not have great expectations for the food as you might end up disappointed.

Good food and service. Enjoyed the evening. Slightly disappointed that the guitarist cancelled but as we were with friends we still had a good time. As a vegetarian there was a good choice

We called in on a Wednesday evening, we hadn’t booked, there were quite a few walk-ins, but ideally book so as not to be disappointed. The service was great and the food was excellent, really tasty and piping hot. The Estrella drink was nice too. Pan and Olí - the bread was great. Followed by Potatas Bravas, chorizo in cider,ham croquettes, a beef and chicken empanadas and finally churros. Everything was very tasty and well presented. I couldn’t fault the place. We will definitely be going back. The atmosphere was building as well, we ate and left early. But well worth a visit and worth booking.

We cannot praise this restaurant highly enough. It continues to give us an uplifting experience every time we visit, to the point where it can sometimes bring tears to our eyes. The serving staff - Amy, Anou, Anya, Becci, Finn, Kayla and Maisie - are warm, welcoming and attentive. Voy the new chef and his team in the kitchen offer a variety of fantastic food cooked to perfection. The atmosphere is always cosy, with a 'buzz' that signifies pleasure. The courtyard garden is a special place to relax in, providing emotional comfort to soothe any problems away! Our thanks to Lucy the owner who is focussed on ensuring that all her customers leave with a warm glow. My wife and I are in our seventies and only wish Bar Limon had existed 50 years ago!

Such a good place, all the staff are friendly and swift. A huge amount of Gluten free, vegetarian, vegan options.y family (which includes a picky one) loved everything. Please open a branch in Fleet, Hampshire.

To find out what a SANGRIA-LA tastes like cost me £9 a glass; a bit high, but then I don't know, maybe this is the usual price?

Visiting family from Isle of Wight and taken to Bar Limon. What a wonderful authentic Spanish restaurant. We could well have been in Spain. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The food couldn't have been better. Tapas and Paella were just perfect and more than enough. We were given neat little boxes to take away left over food. Can't fault this restaurant.

I absolutely love this place. Had a few hours to kill in Malvern, we were going to Spoons but this place looked nice so we went here instead. Very glad we did too. 1. Food excellent, came out at a nice leisurely pace as tapas should (according to my wife who used to work in a tapas restaurant) All fabulous especially Garlic mushroom, chorizo and chicken wings. We were there 7 hours ago and I'm still full now. 2. Staff absolutely lovely, my wife and I worked in hospitality for many years and this is the first time a server has thanked us for putting our plates and cutlery neatly for them to take away. Attentive too, right down to asking if we were happy with the amount of raspberry sauce in the cheesecake. Good people absolutely make a restaurant and this team are just lovely, great job guys! 3. Lovely environment,especially the garden, loved the music too. Best lunch experience we've had in ages, highly recommended, we'll be back soon!

Accidently found Bar Limon on Malvern Pride day...having worked in a Spanish tapas bar many years ago I was exited to eat some authentic again! The waitress recommended 3 or 4 dishes each, we ended up having bread and aliolo, chorizo in cider, chicken wings, halloumi, garlic mushrooms and potatas bravas...(also ended up ordering 2more bowls of bread to mop up all the sauces)! The food did not disappoint and portions were generous - althkugh we were glad we saved room for dessert sharing the most amazing cheesecake and churros! The service was friendly and as attentive as it can be for some where you order at the bar, all the waitresses treated us like we were old friends. We had already decided we would definitely return, however on reading the terrible TripAdvisor reviews and the mangers response, I like this place even more! Thanks for a lovely afternoon all!

Delicious food and fantastic, friendly service! Came a year ago after a birthday walk and loved it. It was so good that we came again this year for another birthday visit. It is a fantastic place and I am mystified as to why it doesn't have a full five stars.

A lovely authentic tapas bar with wonderful 1920s theming. The food was great tapas with a wonderful selection. Empanadas are a must have. We had a wonderful evening. Staff were always helpful and polite. Can’t wait to visit again.

Dishes we had tasted similar, most over seasoned with paprika, great if you wanted goulash. Service was friendly but not attentive.Sardines were good.

Happened upon here when the place we were going to was closed. Even though we hadn't booked, and it was heaving, they seated us....even moving us to a more comfortable booth as the server could see I was in pain with my back. Small plate tapas choice was just enough, good drinks and super lovely atmosphere. Food came out fast, hot and delicious. Had a chat with the owner in my rubbish Spanish (which he was very patient with!) And left feeling like a regular! Price was so reasonable too! Muy bien 👌

Delicious food and a wonderful atmosphere! We tried a range of things, all of which were great. When we visited there were a few dishes they couldn't offer that day, but the menu was so full of great options this didn't hold us back. I'd definitely recommend sharing so you can try as many different things as possible!

I recently had a chance to return to this delightful Tapas Bar. I was not disappointed. The same welcoming, friendly staff. Good quality food with fresh ingredients. Wonderful atmosphere and decor. A very popular tapas restaurant, especially for Malvern Theatres goers. So plan in time. Food is excellent. I would add a bread basket to one's tapas order, just to mop up the delicious sauces.

Gorgeous place, really lovely interesting food. Nachos were very flavourful, different, homemade, fresh. Associated dips really fresh and zingy. Chilli good but I could have done with more beans and no couscous! Good vegetarian and vegan options, and a variety of alcohol-free drinks on the menu.

Wonderful afternoon my little family and I we had at Bar Limón. The young girl that served us she was absolutely a star! All staff very friendly including the bartender. Our first trip to Bar Limon and my wife and I had such a brilliant evening. Great fresh food with plenty of choice, young and attentive staff, really buzzing with most tables full all evening, very stylish decor and enjoyable discreet music. This Tapas bar is wonderful. A little bit of Spanish sunshine on a winters day !! We celebrated my birthday there on Friday evening. Welcoming attentive staff. Delicious freshly cooked food. Great decor, friendly atmosphere. Definitely a destination we will return to again and again.

We were off to see the excellent '12 Angry Men' at 7 30 pm Malvern Theatre so even booking a table for 6pm was tight. The restaurant was busy & there was live music. Drinks order taken swiftly (so important!) We ordered a wide selection of dishes. It's tapas so it just arrives when it arrives which is fine. Still missing the gambas but there was other fish on the menu. Had a really good night. Wish we could have stayed longer to be honest.

We went on Saturday for a pre theatre meal it was buzzing with a great atmosphere. The food was served promptly and is always tasty - we often go for a longer relaxed meal but it was ideal as a pre theatre meal. The staff are friendly and the range of wines for a small independent restaurant is great. We eat out a lot and this place always gives us a consistently good experience.

My wife and I continue to find this wonderful restaurant an indispensable part of our lives. Everything is perfect - the warm welcome, the service, the quality and quantity of the food, the atmosphere, the comfort and the value for money - and every time we visit we find ourselves relaxing in a different world. We also observe smiles of joy on other diners' faces and know that many are returning customers. We leave with a warm glow but always with regret that we can't afford to come every night! Thanks to the whole team for making us feel so valued.

Went for Christmas catch up with friends. Couldn’t fault anything. A lot of group were vegan or vegetarian and we found there was enough options for everyone.Food was quick coming out and tasty. Would come again.

Brilliant authentic tapas bar, great food and great atmosphere. Have visited on numerous occasions and always leave with a smile on my face. Wonderful relaxed atmosphere, really attentive team and delicious reasonably priced food and drinks. There’s a gallery too and a range of special nights with DJs, flamenco dancing and Spanish guitar music. This place is putting the Great into Great Malvern. My partner and I booked a table for a pre-theatre visit to Malvern. We were greeted warmly on arrival and sat at a table. We were asked if we were going to the theatre, just so the staff could keep an eye on the time. Wonderful service with very pleasant staff. The restaurant itself is clean and well-organized. The starter arrived quickly which were very tasty tortilla chips, with probably the best guacamole I have ever tasted. Many tapas plates followed which were all lovely. All served piping hot and all done just in time to walk across the road to see our film. Perfect. Thanks to all at Bar Limon.

Have been meaning to try out Bar Limon for a while so popped in with a friend last night. The service was excellent, friendly and the food was served promptly and in a way not to overwhelm our table! I would say that the food may be a tad overpriced for the size of the portions. However, I imagine most places have needed to up their prices in order to survive the current climate, so was happy to support a local independent restaurant. The atmosphere was really relaxed, with some great, appropriate music choices. Despite it being a quiet Wednesday evening, the friendly staff kindly allowed my friend and I to carry on chatting until we realised we were the only ones left! I had a lovely evening, and would certainly pop by again 😊

Really amateur had to pass dishes over as waiting staff couldn't get round our table had to ask and try attract attention for everything from drinks to ordering food. They were busy. However, they seemed to have plenty of time to chat with each other. Waiting staff can add to experience, sadly, not this one. We thought it was very overpriced. Tapas salad was tasteless cous cousin was dreadful. Dishes quite watery, especially chicken and mushrooms. Best bit was sauces and bread to start. Churos claggy Really disappointing 😞 We love supporting local independent places we will not be returning any time soon.

Pre theatre visit on a Thursday night. Lovely vibe with guitarist and drummer at 7pm. The chorizo and cider was the standout dish. Recommended.

Saturday evening. Food is very good, service friendly, quite busy but still some empty tables. However we: - ordered 6 dishes, only 5 came - were not asked about a second round of drinks - sat looking at empty dishes for the best part of half an hour - abandoned hope of dessert before struggling to get and pay the bill. Mixed results.

We took a party of 14 to Bar Limon for a birthday celebration last Saturday evening. From the first enquiry to paying the bill at the end of the evening, Lucy and the team were amazing. The food was great and the service was outstanding. I would wholeheartedly recommend Bar Limon for its food and atmosphere but would advise booking ahead as the restaurant was busy all evening. Already planning a return visit!

Wonderful staff, you feel welcome from the beginning even with a dog. The food was very delicious and it was amazing how fast it was prepared. Lovely atmosphere and nice drinks. Definitely will come back again visiting Malvern Hills.

Can't recommend this restaurant enough. The staff are attentive, friendly and extremely helpful, they just couldn't do enough. The food and setting is really authentic. There is a good selection of food choices, all of which is well cooked and displayed. All this added to a good atmosphere really does make you feel that there is a little bit of Spain in Malvern (oh and the Barbie Cocktail was amazing 🤩)

Visited here recently and must say we were very disappointed. The food was very limited in choice and what we did have was bland and very expensive. The sevice was poor and we felt rushed. The staff were friendly enough but seemed inexperienced. The waitress dropped a fork on my husband's shirt which left food on him and she did not even offer to help clean it off. Will definitely not go back.

Me and my mum were visiting Malvern and thought this place looked really nice from the outside. Unfortunately, the food was absolutely shocking. The worst place we have ever eaten. Firstly, the cod was not available, so instead my mum ordered lamb tagine and myself the meatballs in tomato sauce and a bread basket. The food came out as soon as we sat down after ordering at the bar (literally 2 minutes), before the drinks, meaning it was obviously not cooked from fresh. The lamb tagine was inedible, the meatballs were luke warm in a very watery sauce, and the bread basket that was pictured with an assortment of bread was just baguette slices. We basically paid £38 for two cokes and some bread. Would not recommend unfortunately and i’m not one to usually complain. Update: We returned for our refund which we were grateful for and the owner was completely unpleasant and rude and made us feel bad despite her offering the refund (we never actually asked for it). I am not a mean person and I have the right to review an awful experience. The rest of the staff were really nice though.
