Bar Izzo in Chiltern

Nowhere better in Amersham, or Bucks! And now peanut butter is on the menu, it’s complete. Best pastries, best bread, best coffee, friendliest service and advice….and best music (although Mondays, Christy plays a dodgy playlist). A wonderful place to eat and drink.

Popped in to Our Dough - at the back of Bar Izzo - to buy some fresh bread this morning. Bought the focaccia - my goodness, it was incredible. The flavours were just delicious. Thank you, Kenny the Baker. We've eaten sourdough bread and various pastries from here before, all of which were so nice, but the focaccia was so good it prompted me to leave a review. Our Dough, Bar Izzo and the Griffin next door They are all well worth a visit!

End of the day tea. Lovely chocolate brownies. We were very close to closing time, but welcomed to stay on the lovely hidden terrace as long as we liked. A lovely half hour on one of the few fine days we’ve had recently

A little rustic coffee shop, which we have visited on a couple of occasions now. Great coffee and delicious cake, the latter of which is made in their own onsite bakery. On both visits, we bought a loaf of their seeded sourdough - it’s divine toasted! Friendly service too.

Takeaway coffee & cake The best blueberry muffins EVER! Fab coffee too, definitely recommend. You are spoilt for choice in old Amersham, hadn’t been here before - but was delicious. Also the takeaway coffee wasn’t a miniature cup as is offered in another over the road cafe!

This is the place for a great coffee and delish treat in the day, epic sandwiches for lunch, and truly special small plates and drinks at night. Particular highlights are the staff and the evening offering. Come for the food, leave feeling like family. EAT EVERYTHING. Also, drink everything.

Great affordable wines from around the world, great food and excellent service. Joe and Christy have got the perfect recipe for service and quality produce nailed.

Fairly simple avocado and egg on toast with bacon added, although latter was overdone. Good service and menu focused as top end cafe rather than restaurant, would go again.
