The Griffling in Chiltern

One of the rare places open earlier than the others, but if you're in a rush and value good coffee and pastries, you really can't go wrong. Their in-house bakery is on another level. Make sure to catch their pain au chocolat before 9am; the filing is still warm and oozy. On the opposite end, if you fancy a little spice, they've a morish foccacia with jalapeños, tomato, and I think olives. Yet to try lunch....but if the above is anything to go by, you're probably in for a real treat.

Just love bar izzo, consistently good food and coffee. never fails to disappoint!! Bakery selection top notch. Sometimes hard to get a seat but...that's a reflection of how loved and popular it is! i did go once for dinner too - which was totally outstanding.

This is now Barrizzo and we had a superb evening with their tapas / small plates menu. There was clearly a lot of thought had gone into the short menu (but enough choice to work for the pescatarian in our group) and some interesting wines to match. Each dish had a good number of little touches that added to the flavour, texture and appearance. Clearly a very talented chef and way above what we expected from what is obviously a café during the day. Front of house was handled by a chap who knew his wines and made some lovely recommendations, with most (all?) being available by the glass so we could always taste before buying. We'll be back very soon - one of our top evenings of 2023.

lovely little coffee shop. Drinks were really reasonably priced (much cheaper than high street brands). Plus, they didn't charge extra for oat milk!

I love it here, great food and especially great vegetarian dishes that are not quiche or goats cheese salad. Excellent cocktails too

Edit: I've been contacted by the manager who has apologised and kindly given a partial refund without me asking. Ordered two pizzas online eventually after their ordering system wouldn't accept my main card. They were busy and the pizza wasn't ready at the collection time. Having the pizza's named after people is very odd... Pizza ingredients were nice but unfortunately they ignored my request for no artichoke, didn't cut the other pizza and it looked like most ingredients had been put on the pizza after it had been cooked. Quite disappointing as the base and sauce were really nice. Pizza was quite oily though. Also they forgot the aioli from the order. I was expecting it to be in the pizza boxes. 😔

Thier pizza was surprisingly excellent and reminded me of the kind of pizza I get when I travel the EU... Best pizza in Amersham in my opinion.

Finally a coffee shop in the area worthy of its description. For anyone that cares, you'll find Victoria Arduino and Mahlkonig so you know you're in good company. Can't comment on the pizza but if it's anything like what's being served at The Griffin, it'll be absolutely delicious.

Whilst the coffee and food are easily amongst the best on Old Amersham, I left my phone behind, and they looked after it until I could collect it, so I'd rank them 5 stars for honesty too. Very important these days!

Great combo of coffee shop and pizza parlour. During the day it is wonderful to be served outstanding coffee from Pete and the rest of the team. The coffee is stunning, pasties are brilliant, cakes and cookies not to be neglected. Still need to get used to the fact that I have to book a time slot for the pizzas.

Ordered 3 pizzas. Easy to order easy to pay .accurate pick up time . And they tasted really good . Highly recommend
