Lovely place lovely staff had free rewards from app so happy with what i paid should have been £50 for 2 starters 2 pizzas 2 drinks and a dessert with rewards only £30!!!!

DO NOT GET A DELIVEROO from Pizza Express Amersham. Pizza was carried in its side so all the topping was on one side of the box and the pizza dough was uncooked. Also the pizzas are not cut when delivered.

Very mixed experience tonight. In parts, the food was excellent. The dough balls and Buddha salad were great. But all three pizzas we were served were so well cooked that we struggled to cut through the base, likewise the garlic bread. We also struggled to get served, with the staff seemingly stuck towards the front of the house and us at the back, but when they did remember we were there all the staff were friendly and professional. Not that anyone asked how the pizza was, as I might have told them... It was summed up at the end as we walked out unacknowledged, despite four staff being nearby at the time. It wasn't awful, but it felt like a chain restaurant experience and reminded me why small places actually owned by staff are almost always the best.

I didn’t consider the meal value for money very scimpy three small pieces of chicken and the salad was just as bad about six leaves and four half pieces of baby tomatoes i will not order it again very disappointed Edward

Friendly and efficient staff, nice premises. Just wish the pizze were a little bigger for the price charged but excellent execution nonetheless.

Me and my partner visited for dinner and it was a great experience! Our waitress was Ella, who was lovely and attentive. The food was delicious and would definitely come again.

Nice chain restaurant on the Amersham High Street. Coming here made me realise how much restaurant prices have increased! £100 for 2 people with a starter, one alcoholic drink, main and dolcette (felt steep). The restaurant was clean and surprisingly (for me) full on for Thurs evening. There is a small garden crammed with tables in the back. Staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. Romana pizza was tasty, the dynamite doughballs had a nice balanced flavour, but you might find them a bit soggy with the sauces if your used to the traditional dough balls.

Come out tonight to celebrate a birthday 🎈 we had such a lovely time, staff were really friendly and welcoming. Our server was so lovely and she was very attentive to our needs Even the General Manager ( Mayur) come over to our table to check everything was good with our meals. Thank you Mayur and team we will definitely be back soon

I had ordered a large classic garlic and prawn pizza and a large American hottest pizza with dough balls. I’ve received a completely different order and I have called the store over 30 times. I ordered through Pizza Express app. Delivery was late. Driver was rude too. I’ll be getting a full refund as this borders a scam. Awful customer service, answer the damn phone.

I came here with my partner on a busy Friday night, but yet the service was fast and excellent. We were served by Matt who was excellent to us all night. The honey and chilli dough balls were delicious and so was the pizza and wine! Will most definitely be returning !

Staff were friendly but we found the offers really confusing. We had the Pizza express club app so had a free side. We then had vouchers from Tesco but were told we couldn't use them as we had the free side offered to us on our app. I understand not being able to use multiple offers but the vouchers were just cash tokens, not a special offer as such. They refused to accept both. Considering our bill came to £60 for 2 kids meals (£8 but drinks are extra), 2 classic margarita pizzas, 2 kids juices and a beer; surely they could have made an exception here?

Some friends and I popped in for lunch today. I have never had a bad meal at Pizza Express in any of their restaurants in the UK and have been going for decades. I used to take 100 plus students to the Coventry P E! Matt served us today and was so patient, attentive and nothing was too much trouble when we needed help with the app and selection of wine or food. The latter arrived in good time, the Pinot Blush was very nice and all in all much to commend. The ice cream sundae was amazing and we shared it between four of us as it was such a generous portion. Well done in all respects! I hope to come back soon and thank you from us all for a very enjoyable lunch.

We got there, they put us in a table (we had booking ). We were not given menus, we waited for 15 minutes then I went and asked for menus, I called them back and ordered food fast and told them that my grandson was tired and we appreciated to have the food as fast as possible. It took a long time before they brought the starters and they brought starters in drip & drab and forgot one of them all together, it took a very lint time, about an hour between starter and main and we gave to ask about it 3 times, l had to ask 3 times for a glass of tap water. There were lots of servers there but I do not think there was a manager there, it was not organised, food was good but service very very poor | V

Slooooow and poor service. Waited 25mins on a Wednesday evening and no one even took a drink order. Got up and left, wasn't even that busy. Edit: following the cut and paste response by the manager to contact them there has been no reply to my email. Don't ask to be contacted and then not respond. Avoid this place.

Pizzas are consistently good. We had Romano pizzas.Most staff are very friendly. Relaxed atmosphere. Toilets very clean.

Tried to visit last Weds at 7pm but was a terrible experience was told the manager was not here which meant they weren't taking walk ins. The restaurant seemed as though it had a few patrons (only noticed 2 tables out front who seemed to be tucking into their dinner) so when pressed they explained only online bookings were being honoured as they were under staffed. So couldn't provide the service yet then also explained I could order takeaway as deliveries were okay. I asked for details where I could check on the protocols being followed but these weren't provided. Seemed as though they were just making it up as they went. As a business just turning away customers in the current climate can't be a well thought out strategy to deal with staff sickness especially during a winter period where being sick is just a part of the package.

Me and my other half came here one evening. We were placed at the far back on a table with dirty cutlery and napkins. Our server was sorenna and she is a huge credit to this place. Her service is actually one of the reasons I return back. Our food was nice however the fajita pizza is a really wet topping so this then makes the base soggy. I returned it, only to receive another fairly similar. I then knew it was the wet toppings causing this. No fault to anyone. The lemon meringue roulade is delicious for dessert. Everything else is lovely. Sorenna you are the best! Your customer service is outstanding 🤩

Great location right by the station. Really good quality food and service. I had a Buddha bowl which was well prepared and portions were very good.

What can I say, it's Pizza Express.

Food was tasteless and they charged the wrong amount when providing the bill. Staff were very confused and not in control of their positions, what orders had been taken and offers were available.

Orderd online, when I got my food back it was cold and honestly made me sick! They didn’t even wrap the bags properly with our food in, wasted money I’m sick to my stomach over how bad it was!!

Express by name but not by nature. Making a pizza takes 3 min prep and 3 min in the oven, no one should be waiting for 45 min. The first part of the restaurant name is accurate though. Other than that, this a very average chain restaurant.

This is the best pizza express. It's large and always has room. The staff are mostly lovely and great with our kids. A local fav for us.

Pizza Express make good pizzas in general but don't bother with the Amersham branch on a Saturday evening. It is like a school play ground. Busy with noisy children (fine if that was the plan), even with a reservation, you still have wait half an hour for a free table, short of staff who are over stretched and make mistakes on food orders, food cold when it arrives. It has happened 3 times so will be sticking with deliveroo for the future!

We ordered from Pizza express in Amersham via Deliveroo and found missing items. On calling to restaurant they asked to contact Deliveroo. I believe it’s restaurants responsibility to handover the package with full order to delivery companies. I will get the refund on missing items but it’s not very good customer experience on receiving partial order at dinner time.

I’ve just read lovely reviews of this Pizza Express and wonder how we were so unlucky with our experience. Booked table in advance for me my husband and our two grandchildren. It was to be a half term treat. Kids starter came after we had been there an hour. We had been given our drinks but they were nearly finished. We asked where our food was but we’re told it was in the oven. We left Pizza Express after an hour and a half without being fed. We weren’t charged for drinks and kids starters. Disappointing that none of the staff really seemed to care much even when I spoke to duty manager. A treat for us and our grandchildren spoiled.

We regularly dine at this Pizza Express and feel it is a super little place. I can see some less than perfect experiences...but we have been here maybe 30 plus times and we still return and enjoy our meals.....

The pizzeria had a cozy ambiance and the staff were friendly. The pizza was delicious with a thin and crispy crust and generous toppings. The prices were reasonable and the service was quick. We had a great dining experience and will definitely be back!

Went for my daughters 5yo birthday, it was awful. There was a noisy kids party right beside us, took ages for us to order and for food to arrive (starters took ages to clear away). Mains (when finally arrived nearly 90mins after arrival), they were burned. Their excuse was that they were only down to one chef... sorry but not our problem. Don't take the covers if you can't manage!!! Never going back here again, it was the worst.

We arrived 20 mins early but that wasn't a problem as a table was ready. All staff were very friendly and seemed to deal well with a busy restaurant. Nobody came to check on us during our meal, but we could see them running around helping all customers, so I didn't mind that, and we just flagged down a waiter to get more drinks. Food was really good and we will definitely be returning.

This was a great experience from start to finish. The food was delicious, and the restaurant wasn’t too crowded due to it being quite large. The experience was lovely, and the atmosphere was great. The food wasn’t too expensive and I found the service to be incredibly friendly. I’d absolutely come back here.

Wow it was just GREAT Booked a table for four, at 6:30pm Not too busy - but soon filled up Menu had something for everyone Dough balls with garlic butter were delicious Chilli Prawns a perfect starter Fiorentina simply the best Pizza and they do it right every time BUT The service from SORENNA was the highlight of the meal She was so attentive, but not overly so . . Always there just when we needed service, with advice and quick delivery . . Charming too Yes, the food was good, but we knew it would be The exceptional service was a bonus Thank you PE, it will encourage us to return

We sat for over 25 minutes watching people who arrived after us have their order taken and drinks delivered while we were completely ignored. I politely asked if they could take my order and still no one came and served us. We left, walking past all these servers who continued to ignore us. Terrible experience.

got as a collection and had two burnt ridged pizzas. the halloumi bites were a disgrace, for a start we barely got any and then they were burnt! the dough balls were stale and we had dips missing. normally i would rate 5 starts when eating in but if you want a takeaway find elsewhere… disappointed

Food was very good . The Prosecco was not chilled but they tried to serve it anyway and say nothing, Honesty would have been appreciated. Waiter chewing gum was most unpleasant and they kept leaving the door to the store room beside our table wide open so we could hear the staff having breaks and chatting which was annoying.

Had to book by phone as the booking system was showing no availability. When we got there, it was virtually empty. The first waitress who showed us to our table was lovely, unfortunately, the others seemed disinclined to make eye contact and seemed disinterested in serving. Three staff members were seated at a nearby table playing on their phones and generally having a good time to themselves, beats actually serving I suppose. My calzone was ok, ish, but the pizza dough was not nice, it was more like pancake batter than dough. Bizarrely, three families were turned away while we were eating, it certainly couldn't have been because they were full, there was only us and one other table. Management if the Team was totally absent, I won’t be returning here.

service was absolutely terrible, dropped food and picked it up with hands and didn’t get us a new one (hope he washes his hands). laughed at us and stared at our table throughout our experience, laughed about how he through our food on the table with his colleagues. absolutely terrible experience only thing good was the food, apart from the squashed strawberries and brownies that was on the floor, other than that the man who served us was incredibly rude and would not recommend him as a waiter

Food could have been a bit warmer. Very noisy which wasn't helped by two families arguing but it was half term I suppose.

Excellent pizzas and nice service

Not a great start as we were met with a greeting akin to being too much trouble when we turned up for our booking. The restaurant was busy but seemed well staffed. We waited 20 minutes for someone to take our order and stopped a member of staff and politely asked if we could order to be told “in a minute”. Starters were slow to arrive and so were mains. When mains did arrive, sides did not, despite asking 3 times if we could have the salads we had ordered. Eventually someone said “oh you’ve still not had your salads, I’ll cancel it from the bill”. The manager seems to a buzzing around but there was little or no coordination of staff. Very poor.

A bit chaotic at 6 on a Saturday

The two girls running the restaurant were obviously too stretched, to the point they couldn’t cope. However the manager kept on taking tables for them to deal with. Why when your restaurant is already over capacity would you keep on taking walk in tables? The two girls did their best and as usual the food was good, but multiple tables around us waited a very long time and the atmosphere In the restaurant was quite stressed. Management need to focus on their team and not just taking money.

We asked to move once as the big kids party was so noisy but it didn’t make a huge difference! Pizza express shouldn’t accept kids parties after 7pm as this is when adults go out expecting a nice meal out! The service was haphazard too twice we were offered the next tables drinks and food My Leggera pizza was very underwhelming (I know it’s low calorie but it still needs to be tasty)! Very disappointed!

Tried deliveroo order for the first time. Food arrived stone cold and inedible 20-25 mins after original eta. Not sure whether it’s Pizza Express or deliveroo’s fault but either way not acceptable. Deliveroo offered refund of 25% of total order which I felt was derisory.

Raw pizza base. Very little toppings. Paid almost £8 for 3 very small.'bits" of chicken for starters. Tried calling them but could only leave a message! Hence the post. Shame as in-house dining was a very different experience. 😕

We had a children's party at the Amersham restaurant. Alison and Lucy H were great! Alison welcomed us on arrival and couldn't do enough for us. We had a children's party making the pizzas from dough to toppings. Alison was brilliant, leading the kids through this guiding them through the different stages and they were all very happy.

First experience of of carbonara on pizza but so good!

Great Experience in Pizza express Amersham. The staff who served were amazing. Very good with knowing Allergens and very friendly. The selection was great on top of being able to select a pizza of choice but have it done Gluten Free. Also found out all the flour they use is Gluten free so it is safe for Celiac's too. Great Service and will definitely be going back to this particular PE.

We had a nice lunch here and Salem's enthusiasm for customer service made it that much more enjoyable. We will be returning!

Update 2022 Having used the restaurant again I've revised my previous 2 star rating up to 4 stars. It was 5 stars before the delivery fiasco described below. In the restaurant we had an excellent experience as before, the service was great and the food was spot on. We will definitely go back. While we were there we noticed pizzas boxed for delivery accumulating in the kitchen. It was a long time before Deliveroo came to collect them. I wouldn't have a delivery again. My previous 2 star review is as follows: Good restaurant, poor delivery. We've used Pizza Express in Amersham many times as a restaurant and have always been satisfied. It's not cheap, but was good. This evening we ordered through Deliveroo. The food was slightly delayed from the original forecast, but was actually delivered within 29 minutes. No issues with Deliveroo or their driver. On opening the sealed bags we found that the dough balls were missing. Also the bruschetta topping was spread around the box. Once reassembled this was fine. The pizzas and lasagna arrived cold and we chose to reheat them. The lasagna was in a foil tray without a lid put inside a card box. This seems idiotic as any Indian or Chinese restaurant successfully delivers in foil trays WITH lids without any spillage. Reheated pizza is not great, but the lasagna was still nice. Of the three desserts we ordered, two were fine, but the chocolate fudge cake was awful. It was gritty and oily will an unpleasant aftertaste. We took the chocolate fudge cake back to Pizza Express and asked for the manager. He listened to our complaints and apologised. He replaced the horrible cake with a brownie which was nice. He also advised the we could comment on the cake using the Deliveroo App, but I can't see how. Overall I'd say use the restaurant, but don't bother with delivery. The restaurant manager helped the situation considerably which was appreciated. Cake aside, the food would have been very good if it had been served hot. For clarity this is no reflection on Deliveroo who did their part of the ordering and delivery well and facilitated the refund of the missing dough balls.

Terrible service, poor food. Not the greatest birthday lunch for my brother. The manager listened to me though, and rectified the bill so I appreciated his politeness, understanding and apologies.

Take away,plus I collect my food .wasn't delivery. 1.chocolate brownie with vanilla gelato When I'm arrive at home I find just the chocolate. Suppose to be warm was hard and cold. 2. Pollo pesto I ask 2 times without onion it was full of onion . On my recepeit they said without onion it was full of onion. VERY DISAPPOINTED I WANT GO ANYMORE TO THIS PLACE I WILL NOT RECOMMEND. I made picture and I will send it to the pizza express had office.

Good kits menu, but very slow service. We waited an hour for two pizzas, and at 5pm.

Impulse stop off. Asked them to rustle up a few pizzas from the old menu and they sorted with no hesitation. friendly staff and the pizzas were delicious . I Will be back

Whoever designed the refurb at Pizza Express has clearly never eaten there. Please reinstate the inner door, when I was there this evening, I had to get up and close the ONLY door twice and the staff were constantly doing it. The food is great as usual, the pizza chef on this evening was top notch, the waiting staff were pretty poor, no smiles, nada. They had to call in a lady who was clearly more experienced and also clearly not rota'd for this evening and luckily she had tables cleared and customers greeted in no time at all. This makes me so cross. Its pizza, it isn't rocket science for goodness sake PE wake up. I was a regular customer before the refurb, not sure I'll bother again as I don't want to sit in a draught all evening.

Gluten free pizza available but very poor value for money, same price as other pizzas but thin, tough and smaller with less topping. Domino's and Zizzi's do a better G/F pizza

Excellent, friendly service from everyone. Food was served super quick. Our 'dough balls doppio' starter & mixed green olives were really yummy, then I enjoyed the tasty grand chicken caeser salad, whilst the rest of my family had delicious looking pasta dishes! Many thanks for a great lunch. :)
