Work family, we had our last meal in 2022, preparing ourselves for 2023. Staff was great, the food quite well done and presented (we're in England, ok?). The drinks (try the Manhattan) were perfect.

Very nice "straightforward" afternoon tea - priced at just under £40 for 2. Good, simple, well made, fresh sandwiches and scones. Excellent pots of tea, with refills. Friendly/helpful staff, pleasant lounge area. (Let's be fair the standard of afternoon tea isn't the same as the big 5 star London hotels, but they will charge close to £160 for 2; this is a quarter of the price and great value).

We were staying at the hotel, so ate here for ease. When my husband went down it was quite full but by the time I arrived it was quiet. We ordered drinks, a Diet Coke and a Peach Tea. They came back to say that they had no Peach Tea but did have a Mango and Pineapple Tea, which I had. I bet they don't sell much Mango and Pineapple Tea, as that isn't on the menu. The tea was great and my husband was happy with his Diet Coke. We had table service and the drink came with ice and lemon. We both ordered Fish and Chips, with no mushy peas and the food came as ordered, so often in restaurants there are remnants of rogue peas, but this was not the case. We did however order Onion Rings and when we said Onion Rings our server said oh yes. He went away and we were virtually half way through the meal when they arrived, clearly they had been forgotten but they didn't admit that. Overall, it was very good and we would be happy to eat here again. It would have been a 5 star review if it hasn't been for the Onion Rings.

Pleasant and quiet surroundings, comfortable seating. Our order arrived in good time. My youngest daughter ordered “margarita pizza”. When it arrived it looked awesome. When we tasted it, it tasted very familiar. When we bit into the crust, we realised what it was. A lovely Chicago town stuffed crust pizza. Now for £10.50, I’m not sure how to react. A Hilton hotel, plush surroundings, serving supermarket pizza. Gordon Ramsey would have had a stroke. Felt a bit insulted really. Would I recommend, no. Would I go there again, no. It was very cheap of them to pull such a stunt, yes. Good job we had Meerkat meals with 50% off 😎

We were staying at the Doubletree Hotel and decided to try out there restaurant just off from the pretty foyer. The lounge is quite nice with a fire burning. The restaurant part, at the front, constantly blows cold air. The lady beside us was wrapped up well with a big scarf and i could see was suffering. The appetizers were fine, although we were brought a dish we didn't order. It took well over an hour to get our meal, two lamb dishes and a salmon. However, my husband's salmon didn't come and we had to tell two waiters before something was done. They said "five minutes" and 40 minutes later it arrived without the green beans ordered to go with it. We were charged for the green beans and for the extra non-ordered appetizer. Finally i asked for the manager. He kindly offered to take 15 pounds off the bill but still didn't remove the extra 12.5 pounds we were overcharged. Honestly, any restaurant worth their weight in salt would have comped my husband's meal as we were stuck there for over 2 hours from the time we first ordered until it came. I had to push to get the items removed we didn't want and we were offered a drink each. By this time our 20+ son had gone to bed. It was just very bad service and the explanation was that the waiter was new. We had 3 waiters all scurrying and not knowing what they were doing. (All 3 were sweet though). Sad thing is the food overall was quite good. Loved the lamb. We definitely would NOT go back. By the way, the restaurant was empty all but the one other table of 3.

I was initially impressed by the design of this bar area in the hotel. But the bar service just left me morning. Firstly I had to go to the bar to even be acknowledged and even that they took their time. The pricing was exorbitant even for that area of London.

Having received a voucher from a friend (from Next) decided on the Hilton doubletree near The British Museum for afternoon tea. I know that there have been loads of negative reviews but I found the opposite! IT was really, really lovely. The setting is a bit more relaxed that most afternoon tea's I've been too, with a bar like atmosphere. Service was very cheery but quite relaxed, less attentive that others but in keeping with the more relaxed setting. However when we did see someone extra tea was prompt or directions given to toilets! The food itself was delicious. Really fresh sandwiches that had delicious fillings. The cakes were just like eating fluffy air! Loads of selection and really tasty. Everything was very fresh and beautifully made. I felt very sick after eating that much!!! Really lovely, not the poshest but definitely one of the best food wise.

This is a hotel restaurant, so the food and service is mediocre. Staf can leave you waiting for seating, menus and food. The restaurant has full menus for lunch and dinner and a bar menu. While most food is just middling, the afternoon tea is quite good.

Stayed in the Hotel on business (first mistake - see review) - and decided to have something quick in the Restaurant for dinner - Ordered Fillet Steak - was asked how I want it - Medium rare, more to the rare please! - was told I can not have that - but can have it medium rare. (?) - anyway - steak arrived "well done" - nice and grey throughout - sides not worth mentioning, sauce overly salty (and burnt?) - what a disappointment....

Arrived early, we were seated straight away - there was only 1 other couple there. Strange set up - it’s a restaurant in the foyer attached to the bar. Ordered a pint of kronenberg, a murky ale turned up. They changed it for a correct drink. Mains - we had salmon nicoise - best option of 3 poor choices. It was nice. Salmon cooked well, 1 cold baby potato in the salad. The apple tart tatin dessert arrived frozen. It took 2 people to understand what the problem was as none of the staff spoke very good English. We waited for a new one to be microwaved. The lemon tart was supposed to have caramelised figs with it - these did not appear - the waiter didn’t understand and said they were the berry compote. There needs to be more understanding of the menu and staff need to be more attentive. This is more of a bar and is no place for a restaurant. Will not be returning.

We were given a gift experience voucher for tea with champagne. When I booked a few days ago I had to ring back as they could not take my booking at that moment. When we arrived today they had the booking in a different name so not a great start. We were sat down and only given a choice of 4 teas or coffee so we went for breakfast tea which was fine. They managed to cater for our diatery requirements ok but did not bring any champagne. I asked and the waitress went off to locate the voucher I had given to her which she had not read. The sandwiches were nice, the scones were small and a little dry / stale. The French macarons were very nice and the other small cake bites were ok if a little stodgy. The service was almost invisible. I had to ask for more hot water and noone came to check on us or say goodbye. I did not leave a tip which for me is almost unheard of.

We visited the Double Tree by Hilton Restaurant 92 for a gift experience afternoon tea paid for by our daughter for her Dad's birthday. This has to be the worst afternoon tea we have ever experienced. The venue lacked ambience, and the afternoon tea itself was very average. The scones were burnt and tiny (one resembled a biscuit!). I returned the scones and we were presented with more which were equally tiny and burnt. Just enough jam to cover the scones. After most cream teas, we have normally been very full or not able to finish the quantity of food, but we left feeling hungry. Would definitely not recommend, especially at a price of £25 per person!! Extremely disappointing.
