Banyan Bar & Kitchen in Manchester

Literal waste of time and money never again. Started our 2 hour bottomless brunch and 2 of us were late but we were not too bothered about it eating into the time. Someone ordered drinks before we arrived in our behalf they never arrived. Ordered 2 before the food came the never arrived and they said nothing had been missed. The table placed their 2nd order and they arrived without our drinks. My partner asked a second time to a different server and they only brought 1 of the 2. A bit of a joke to be honest that I had my food and the table was cleared with 2 rounds arriving to the table before I even got to start this “bottomless brunch”. Watery curry, slow service, bad service overall.

Fab place for a bottomless brunch! We had Damien as our server and he was amazing, never let our glasses stay empty! The food was lovely and the cocktails were really nice.

I just had the best time catching up with friends at this spot! The food was delicious, and the cocktails were on point. The atmosphere was vibrant, and the staff were super friendly and attentive, making our experience even better. We felt welcomed from the moment we walked in, and the service was spot on throughout. I can't recommend this place enough for a fun get-together!

Great start, ended on a low! 5 ladies had meal & drinks before a show closeby. Nice waitress Andreea. Food good & good value. Cocktails good, nice place, nice background music. After the fab show, feeling good we said lets head back & have another drink before heading home. Wow, what a change of atmosphere! Served by very rude lady, Blessing. Hardly spoke,no manners. Barely acknowledged us. Wasnt even busy Pls dont work in customer service if you dont like people or cant smile when they are spending their hard earned money. Wont revisit. Too much comp in area.

I had a fantastic Saturday afternoon catching up with family and friends over lunch. The small plates were absolutely delicious—highly recommend the prawns and squid! The hosts were attentive and suggested some excellent cocktails. Great venue, fun atmosphere, and incredibly friendly staff!

Great atmosphere, good music played. Didn’t eat only went for drinks. Not cheap like anywhere in deansgate though. £7 for a pint

Visited February 2025 A pleasant enough experience. Situated in the centre of Manchester this restaurant and bar offers a varied menu and two for one cocktails at the time of our visit. Using the QR code, located on each table, ordering meals and drinks could not be easier. The meals are reasonably valued and the relaxed vibe - it was a Sunday afternoon when we visited - added to the whole experience.

It would be a disservice to not leave a review and I couldn't recommend the bar more highly... One of the best things about working in the spinningfields area for me, is indisputably this bar! Everythingggg is top notch... the food is great (*try the beefburger and fries(!) Because even the 'simple' things are handled very well. The price point is very reasonable for the area, and with their bottomless brunch and 2-4-1 cocktails and kids eat free promotions running..it's a no-brainer.! Most especially when the drinks are ridiculously priced in most venues around this postcode! However hands down the favorite thing here for me is; the customer service! As it NEVER fails to be exemplary and outstanding! The undeniably fabulous excellent manager Kurtis has recruited a wonderful team here. And I personally can't wait to come back just after I've left! Best Banyan in the bunch imo ! CornEx - 2nd (only because the fall out from the Printworks crowd is less preferred for me, though I admit that's a personal thing haha) The gorgeous, super professional and sweet Harry/the loveliest loveliest loveliest Sophie who is a personal fave /Vlad whose attentiveness has to be applauded/Dimitri who professionalism is on point /Simona whose absolute sweetness is equal to her exceptional customer service(!!!) and literally every other member of staff, I have come into contact with, whose names I sadly don't know or remember has impressed me no end! Did I mention the gorgeous Andrea Ben Blessing or Caitlin⁩ or Ethan? Or should be a supermodel Georgia, or the chefs in the kitchen special shout out to James, Andrew or Peter and Jordan ?!oh there has never been more deservant of employee exceptionality than this group!! So much so that it's CLEAR their GM Kurtis who is unmatchedddd in all things superior management,recruitment etc makes this venue all it is!! Couldn't recommend this venue more highly 5* exceptional and fantastic experience EVERY SINGLE TIME!!

Drinks were undrinkable no matter what we ordered all tasted like paraffin ,.I’m an e. Landlady and I was with an ex member of my previous staff ! Our food looked like it had been run over with a steam roller and the Manager agreed and knocked £60.00 off our bill

We chose a platter to share for two, and although the duck was tasty, the portion size is very small and not enough for one. The service was good and because it was early afternoon there was not much of an atmosphere but I would imagine it is a great evening venue. There is ample seating upstairs as well with another bar. The service charge is applied automatically, and you can ask for it to be removed if you want to tip your server personally. I am very much looking forward to visiting again at a more busier time.

Had a bottomless brunch for Xmas works do and the service was so fast the drinks arrived so quick! The food tasted delicious too, definitely worth the price!

I went out for a date night recently and it was such a blast! Christie and Devine were the friendliest servers I've ever met, always cracking jokes and keeping the vibes high. The food and drinks were top-notch, and everything was spotless. The whole experience felt so polished, from the warm welcome to the funny goodbyes. Can’t wait to come back for another brilliant evening!

Had bottomless brunch, the food was amazing but it took 35 minutes for my first drink to arrive and I had to ask twice to get it.

What a shame. The service was such a disappointment. The food was quite tasty. Unfortunately, the breakfast was served without the bacon and had to ask again, the egg was cold. The toast was anemic! Waited at the bar to be served, while they served everyone around me. Not a great impression. I walked away in the end. I most certainly would NOT recommend this place to anyone looking for somewhere nice and friendly

Me and my wife went on 30/10/24 Was served by a lady called Divine. At first everything was good and very helpfull. After finishing drinks and food we asked for the bill. 35 minutes after waiting she still hadnt come with the bill. I had to get up and leave and stop at the bar and ask again for the bill which i payed, only after i payed did the bar staff give me the reciept, Only to realise that they had added the optional tip without asking me. I wouldnt of payed the tip after waiting so long to pay. Terrible way of stealing tips instead of asking.

Pepsi came and the syrup had gone so drink had to be refreshed, food came for the 4 of us and the burger was cold, waitress took it away and nukes it in a microwave as the bun and lettuce was warm. Poor show really for a Sunday at one with 15 ish people in, don't want to try it on a Saturday when it's rammed, sorry.

Absolutely loved it here. The staff were great, the food was excellent and the cocktails were spot on and 2 for 1. Sat in the sunshine and the whole experience couldn't have been better. The QR ordering has issues and I have paid twice, but hopefully I'll get my first payment back! Ok update today 24.7.24. I've been ringing everyday since visiting this restaurant and for some reason I can't get any response. There's no email address and I haven't had a refund as promised; IVE PAID TWICE! Do not pay by the me&u process at the table because it doesn't work. There's no process to contact Banyan and no way to redress issues you may have. Therefore I've taken 2 stars off.

Got a 2 people platter and the food was way more delicious than expected, not too expensive. Good portion size as well. Atmosphere was amazing as seating was comfortable and soft music playing in the background. Fast and friendly service

One meal was okay, half of the “fresh” ingredients in the bowl we ordered were not edible because they were either overlaid or completely soaked in vinegar. Wouldn't go here again unless you just want drinks.

Popping in after Burlesque, even though it was busy the staff took the time to help us find a table and the bar staff were excellent at servicing quickly. 241 cocktails were great and the guy who came over after we ate, think he was called Curtis, was super friendly and helpful in helping us find the evening theatre l we had booked. Overall I couldn’t recommend the place more from start to end. KO

My first time visiting Banyan Spinningfield, and can say will definitely be visiting again soon, love the layout, with different sections to eat and drink, we had a brilliant table booked for a large party of us, all age groups and it was perfectly located. Staff were so attentive and and welcoming. Food was delicious, I had the Burrows Burger and it was so filling. Drinks were something else the 2-4 one cocktails were a hit with us all and for central Manchester the prices were very good. The pina colada went down too easy! Atmosphere was brilliant, lighting, music and general feel for the place was perfect. Thank you so much.

Popped in with my daughter treated her to a mocktail so she can enjoy a refreshing drink outdoors with her dad. Was presented with an overpriced can of orange at £4:75. At least the Highwayman wore a mask

Drinks ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Atmosphere ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Accessibility ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Cost ⭐⭐⭐ Service ⭐⭐⭐ On my recent visit, I dropped by for a few drinks with friends. It was a weekday, mid afternoon so it was expectedly quiet. There is background music (R&B, I think) which wasn't too loud to be distracting. So, it was great for a catch up chat with friends. Service was a bit slow though as there were very few staff on duty so sometimes the bar counter was empty and we had to wait for a staff member to turn up to be able to place our drinks order. Other than that, it's quite a nice cosy place, nice decoration, nice layout. Toilets are on the first floor and there is an elevator available. Some areas may not be wheelchair friendly but effort has been put in to make the venue accommodating.

A group of us took the cocktail making class, which was great fun. The bar manager, Aiden, was brilliant - friendly and relaxed and happy to join in and have a laugh. The buffet was plentiful and tasty. Would recommend for groups/ hen dos/ parties.

Rhian bar staff , very kind & helpful. Didn’t know what cocktail we wanted and she let us know of the 2for1 deal and what cocktails she recommends. We loved the choice she gave. 10/10

Had a lovely time in Manchester for the Easter weekend. Me and my partner came here on Friday for a lovely meal. The service was great and the food came fast. Had the chicken skewer which I enjoyed very much and the 2-4-1 cocktails were nice as well. It is a busy and loud area but luckily we were seated in the quieter area around the corner. I would recommend this place!

We had a lunch before our flight back home. Great atmospher and great place to have a bite. We decided to go with the Chicken ciabatta. All good and tastefull

Overly strict with drinks service on bottomless brunch. Sat for 20 mins without a drink after asking 3 times. Continuing to serve around us. Poor customer service!!!

Decor amazing, good tunes, sofa is Comfortable. Great vibe, but Watching them make 241 cocktails priced between £11.95 & 14.95 and you see them only put 50ml of Rum and a 25ml of a liqueur . 4 cocktails later and your still good to drive home as it hasn't had any effect. Bit of a scam lol 😂

Fantastic brunch for my 60th at the Spinningfields restaurant, Manchester. Exceptional service from start to finish, the food was good and the drinks were spectacular. Well done Banyan.

The visit was early in the evening and a Monday. So it was pretty quiet. Staff were helpful, but a bit preoccupied. Although the meal was served quickly, it hadn't had much time spent cooking or presenting it. The portion size was small and looked undercooked ( but wasn't) I have used Banyan restaurants in other locations and always had great food and service. Disappointing

The food here was decent. Nothing special. The service lacked a little personality but it was good nonetheless. Good for group bookings and was a decent atmosphere for a Monday night. Some good offers on too

The bar decor is great and our experience was not too bad, could have been made better easily. Most of our order was up to the mark, however We had asked for a vegetarian version of the chicken spirelli pasta. We were disappointed to see while the chicken was removed, there was no vegetarian protein substitute, which meant the quantity of the main dish was less than acceptable. Had to order a side dish, which strangely was more in quantity than the main we ordered! Quite dissatisfied with this.

Service was absolutely shocking so slow even when not busy at all. Staff spend time cleaning bottles instead of serving customers and just staring at the customers instead of saying they will be a minute.

The Banyan was fantastic....but Having a neuro divergent child and screaming ladies who are celebrating do not mix. I had thought, going for an early tea would prevent the scenario but I forgot that us Mancs can celebrate all day 🤣🤣 Once that was over and our group settled in, the evening was fab. The staff were a tad slow and getting someone's attention was sometimes trying. But once you had them, the staff were amazing! So helpful and kind. The food was amazing! Can't fault anything! The drinks were good. Although one cocktail was so sweet, no one was able to drink it. Also, some drinks did not make it to us but we weren't charged for them so that was sort of good. Oh, did I say that the food was amazing!!! Everyone really enjoyed their meals! Price wise, I thought the drinks were a tad too much but the food was well worth every penny.

Absolutely amazing place! This is our second visit and it's lovely here, great vibe and great service! Nizar was a wonderful server, he went above and beyond, he consistently replenished our drinks during our bottomless Supper and offered to take our photo (which was outstanding btw!). Went out for work Xmas do. Service and atmosphere excellent. Perfect for a night out. However, food not good at all. V small portions. I ordered turkey dinner & turkey overcooked, with one potato & one sausage etc. Certainly not worth the money.

Atmosphere is lovely and lighting is ambient. Our party didn't eat all of their dishes. Two of us had same order but each plate was different. One had sauces the other had none but table sauces were brought upon request. Took twenty minutes from being sat down to our food orders being taken. Starters arrived just within an hour of being sat down. We didn't have any desserts due to time constraints. We had two hours for our lunch. Mains could have been hotter as opposed to lukewarm. Maybe this is due to parts being cooked and kept warm whilst the rest was still being cooked. Drinks were nice.

Poor ignored by bar staff, not busy left after standing around not good for family's.

The cocktails were 2 for 1 at the time of our visit. The lemon cheesecake cocktail is incredible.

The doorman told us to wait at the desk , took a while for a member of staff to come to us . She couldn't hear us because of how loud the music was . Finally went upstairs to dine . Ordered a drink after 10 mins waiting. Two of our group had chicken schnitzel . So over cooked the coating was hard , couldn't cut it! Had to break it with my hands , and the chicken was barely visible. 2 of our group had steak & both said it was awful . Couldn't hear ourselves speak . All of us couldn't wait to leave . Not a good dining experience at all , won't go again that's for sure .

Went for a Christmas meal with friends here on Saturday. We didn’t realise we would be eating in the dark, and the food was quite lukewarm. Service was slow but staff were friendly. We received and apology and a discount on our bill.

2nd time here, for corporate events. The staff are excellent and it's a great venue. Nothing is too much trouble, and the communication prior to the evening was second to none. Recommended.

Banyan Spinningfields have the rudest staff I have ever encountered . First impressions were awful when I was completely blanked by a member of staff when it was clear I wanted help finding my table. Every single member of staff from then on had zero customer service skills and treated us like we were an inconvenience. Food was decidedly average . Drinks in the £45 pp bottomless brunch were very slow to arrive. Cocktails did not taste like they contained alcohol. Atmosphere was nothing special …very loud cheesy music ..toilets blocked and over flowing … felt like a weatherspoons. Hundreds of nicer places to go in Manchester…..

We booked banyan for a 30th birthday. We did buffet food and drink packages. The staff were lovely and we had such a great evening!

Ordered the chicken burger, sent it back as it was cold (how can that happen with chicken straight out of a fryer ?) It was taken away with no apology, a "fresh" burger came about 20 minutes later, (well after my wife had finished her food) the chicken was hot but the bun was fridge cold over all a completely disappointing experience for the price. Definitely wouldn't return for food. Nice selection of drinks on offer but other than that, poor

I've been Banyan afew times. It's nice with lots of people and nighttime is a lot livelier. Good choice of drinks and food. Can be a bit pricey. Would recommend 👌

Excellent food and drink fab attentive staff loverly atmosphere

First of all the service was bad and I've for my brownies for 45 minutes. I've ordered the burger and the beef was burned. The sushi bowl was okay. The pasta was bad. The flat white was bad.

Took 30mins to get a drink, bar tender decided he would serve anyone else. Nice work 👍

I visited on Saturday 24th June 23 as part of a 50th celebration group. Apparently it was happy hour on cocktails and the place was packed. Everyone in our group enjoyed themselves and drinks were flowing fast and furious. The place itself is not my general scene in honesty but I enjoyed the overall experience of visiting this part of Manchester that I'd never been to before. This was the third bar I visited on this day.

Views are great, food is good, service is terrible.
