Excellent food again as always and I got extra poppadoms so very happy!

Delicious food , chicken pakora, fried rice chips, chicken South Indian and garlic nan. All tasted great definitely recommend

Food was tepid not very warm . Took 30 mins after it was dispatched from restaurant to arrive to me shame it took so long . Think it would of been a lot nice if warm

They forgot my poppadoms but the rest of the food was so good, how can I complain? Amazing food from here again, still very highly recommended. Thank you!

Fantastic food, Love the Vada Pav

Went for a walk in the West End yesterday, seeing as it was a bit 🌶️ we decided to go for something warming and headed into Banta Wala on Byres Road. They do a 2 course lunch for £10.95 with a fantastic selection of options, various add ins and upgrades for a £1 supplement. We went for -Aloo Tikka Chaat (one of the most delicious things I’ve ever eaten, with all the chutneys 🤤) -Chicken Pakora (£1 supp) -Chicken Korma - Lamb Bhoona (£1 supp) -Saffron Rice -Garlic Coriander Nan 😍 (£1 supp) All of food was fresh and delicious, from the light crispy nan bread to the outstanding flavour punch of the aloo tikka… dynamite. We had a look at the main menu and the pricing is very reasonable for both food & drink outwith the lunch deal… we decided there and then we would be back again for another spicy midweek pakora party. Great value, nice atmosphere with friendly staff and unreal food. Total Bill £28 with a pint of diet coke and an 🧊 water.

Amazing authentic Indian food in the middle of west end! Everything was seasoned to perfection. Would highly recommend it to everyone. Everything we ordered was so delicious and we cannot wait to be back. Amazing service and really lovely ambiance as well 😊💯 Samosa chaat was my absolute favorite, paired with the mango lassi 🤤🤤

Bantawala is in a league of its own- no other Indian restaurant even comes close. Welcoming ambiance, traditional decor and subtle indian music playing in the backgound.The flavours here are unmatched, bringing authentic indian cuisine right to the table. Everything we tried was bursting with fresh spices and perfectly cooked. If you are looking for delicious indian food that hits all the right notes, this is the place!

The food wasn’t good at all. The Aaloo Tikki had too many raw fennel seeds that it was unbearable to eat. We gave specific instructions about chaat but they forgot it when getting our food. Food wasn’t authentic. Staff was friendly.

If I could rate this higher it would be 10 stars, the one pot curry from here is top notch 100% real deal,, one of the best I’ve had,,, good prices with excellent fast courteous delivery,, brilliant, highly recommended, thankyou

This is truly the go-to spot in Glasgow for casual chats and incredible Indian food. It brings me back to India, where I can stop by any evening chats for favorites like pani puri, vada pav, and pav bhaji. The service is outstanding, making you feel right at home. A must-visit restaurant! My top pick here is the keema mutter paired with egg rice—an amazing combination after a long day when cooking isn’t an option. Easily the best Indian restaurant in Glasgow!

Recently dined here but while the food was good, the service was not so much thanks to one particular server named Poornima (?). Poornima was condescending right the moment we sat down from the start, especially when we chose not to order from the Pre-Theatre menu. We simply wanted to browse the full menu first, but her attitude suggested this was an inconvenience. Her cold demeanor continued throughout the meal, which really ruined the experience. Final straw was when we asked if the restaurant offered any student pricing while paying the bill. Instead of simply answering the question, Poornima rudely informed us that we should have "made that known before ordering." My bad for not knowing there's an unwritten policy that students need to declare their status beforehand! To top it off, after this exchange, she had the audacity to speak loudly to her colleagues about our group, suggesting that because we were young, we might not be able to afford our meals. It was humiliating and very unprofessional. I can’t recommend this restaurant less if you care about service. Certainly won't be returning.

On 16/10/2024, we visited Bantawala in Glasgow and enjoyed the delicious food and starters. The service was excellent, thanks to Dylan (manager), Purnima, and Liya. We will definitely be coming back and highly recommend it.

Great meal had with lots of options and efficient service

This place is really amazing. There are lot of restaurants in this area now but the masala twist is really unique. The food quality is top notch and portion served also good. Best Indian food in whole of Glasgow.

The butter chicken was very tasty. Just right in terms of spiciness and sweetness. The Naahn breads for 3.50 are above average in size. The food came quickly and the service is very courteous and friendly.

One of the best Indian food I had outside of India. Especially the naan was exceptional! They offer food from various regions in India, the curries are tasty (could be more spicy) and the portions are big.

Delicious as always. I will say however that £7.50 for 3 prawns is a a bit steep, could’ve done with 4 or 5. I order just about every weekend but probably will not order the prawns again, even though they were amazing, sorry guys. Everything else is perfect. Great food and excellent service.

I’ll be moving out of Glasgow soon and I just wanted to thank you for all the wonderful meals. Bantawala is one of the best South Asian restaurants i’ve eaten at in the UK and one of the few where i’ve found Rajasthani Laal Maas!

Went for business lunch today had one of the best Indian food ever wow a Mumbai street food starter with puffed rice quite hot but so tasty 😋 Neva has in any Indian restaurant and Peshwari naan ever so fresh and poornima was an excellent waitress and very informative o er the dishes a definite must in byres and reasonable too will definitely 💯 b back thank you 🙏

What can I say, absolutely delicious food, great service, decor. The kingfisher beer is lovely too. Lunchtime special, £11 for two substantial courses, delicious. I'll definitely be back, that's for sure.

Recently visited this restaurant which was my second visit and I loved it at both the times. All the staff members are friendly, welcoming and provide excellent service. All the dishes which I tried here were really good. Only thing about the food - the tomatoes used in the curries has strong flavour and tastes like canned tomatoes which can be switched to the fresh ones for improved flavours and taste.

If you like burnt food in the name of crispy food then you can visit this place else choose restaurant better than bantawala by masala twist. Bantawala has spoiled the name of Masala Twist. I ate burnt dosa with burnt chana dal (fried too much to make it black chana daal god knows who eats burnt chana daal)

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal, particularly the Tandoori King Prawns, which were so good that we ordered them twice this week. They were cooked perfectly, the delicate white fish was moist and delicious, which the expert spicing complemented but did not overpower. Our friendly delivery man was exactly on time on both occasions. Well done Bantawala (Masala Twist West End).

Great food although forgot some of the food

We had a selection of dishes,the paneer kofta was really nice,as was the lamb Railway curry, garlic Nan was buttery and delicious. The chicken tikka curry sauce was lovely but the chicken didn’t look like it had been in the tandoor and it wasn’t tender,it was tough & dry. Apart from that I will order again,so many other dishes I would like to try. Quick delivery too! P.S I wasn’t expecting the chicken to be red,just a bit of charring would have been good as it adds flavour,the main issue was it was dry.

Food cold. Chicken dry. Sausage overcooked fry and burnt. Rice wasn’t fresh either.. and not much in the mixed grill bag.. worse I’ve had in years.

I’ve eaten curry all over the world for 30 odd years , I’ve spent 2 years working in India and Bangladesh, I cook both at home BIR style and home cook,, this place is bang on the money, the one pot lamb curry and raja is perfect,, thankyou guys, will use again and certainly recommend 👍👍👍

Accidental discovery while walking from Botanic gardens! Reminds me of India. Food equally good. Alas didn’t take any photos.

Came for dinner and had the vada pav, paneer makhani and naan. All were absolutely delicious and such huge portions-especially the naan!! Masala fries a bit lacklustre but everything else was great, really nice mango lassi too. Staff were friendly and helpful.

An incredible array of street food—-exceeded expectations on every level. A “must visit” if you have any affinity for Indian delicacies. Topped off with a Banta—-a rare treat.

The food was not worth the money we paid. The sense of personal space was not a thing. All waiters are hovering around all the time. We were so disappointed at the momo. That is not Indian street food momo. The aloo tiki chaat was super oily. Everything was just covered with chutney. The good thing was a 20% student discount and that's it.

Food was excellent but the table, floor and upstairs toilet floor were all sticky for some reason. The dishes were sticking to the table. A bit off putting. Perhaps the finish on the wood surfaces?

I got set meal for one which was great value I ordered Bhoona Chicken but I got different curry unsure what was but it was tasty and spicy enjoyed it by the way the curry had no tomatoes in it that’s why I am sure it was not a bhoona I got.

The two mains were watery and not much chicken.

Both lamb dishes were delicious. Tender and perfectly spiced. Big portions as well. Friendly staff

DONT order unless you can wait multiple hours for delivery Placed an order at 18:00 Called at 19:00 asking for an update on delivery and was told 10-15 mins Called again at 19:15 and was told within 10 minutes Called at 19:30 "10 minutes" at this point I began requesting a refund. After putting me on "hold" for 5 mins they hung up. Called back again explaining I wanted to cancel as I had to go out at 20:00 and waiting 2 hours for a delivery isn't acceptable. The restaurant is 1.3 miles from me and I was told "bad traffic" every call as a generic answer. Funnily enough when I went out at 20:00 I drove past the restaurant and there was absolutely 0 traffic. Order cancelled by merchant stating I need to contact Uber eats for a refund. Extremely poor service

This place is an amazing choice if you miss Indian food. The street foods are amazing, the vada pav was so yummy🤌🏻 Pani Puri had a bit of more tangy sauce. The tandoori chicken was the best choice. Don't miss the vada pav here they are just wow😋
