Went there with my other half for dinner..Having been to many Italian restaurants in London,I would say it is one of the worst,if not the worst .The food was awful, the presentation of food was terrible (had tiramisu as a desert and had the impression as if someone just threw it on the plate),the service was slow, had to wait for my bill for 20 min.At last ,the prices are ridiculously high for the quality of food and the service you get.Simply avoid!

This is the same restaurant as "Banca" on North Audley, off Oxford St. The food is not bad, although nothing to rave about either. Modern and pleasant décor.

The dining room is beautiful but the location suffers from having many economic eateries nearby like Prezzo, Bella Italia. The food was at best average and service too

This is fine if you're on business expenses but to spend your own hard earnt cash here is a mistake if you take value for money seriously. Service- poor.. we had to ask for the wine list after being seated for 10 minutes..food.. the minstrone soup - this was simply diced vegetables in water with a little stock - tasteless and unattractive (and had to ask for parmesan cheese). Main courses ok but very small portions.. again, had to ask for parmesan cheese for the pasta..final insult was that the staff were so unattentive that we had to get our own coats when we left. Overall a very expensive restaurant offering mediocre food and service which is relying on its decor and location in london to carry itself off. There are far better restaurants than this for the money.

I HAVE NEVER write on this website but i really have to share what happened in this restaurant with you all.The service and the food is very good but THEY CHARGED ON THE BILL higher prices: SWITCHING PRICES WITH SIMILAR NUMBERS(LIKE 98 instead of what stated in the menu that was 86)= really an horrible way of dealing with consumers.WHEN YOU THINK YOU ARE SMARTER THAN OTHER PEOPLE and you try to take advantage from them YOU NEED TO PAY.DON'T GO THERE. i really don't have any gain in telling you a lie so don't go there: there are a lot of better italian restaurants in london.

We had dinner at Banca restaurant last march 30th and it was really fantastic. The restaurant is really excellent. the restaurant is manned with italian staff and they are really very very good. Staff is extremely polite and attentive and they strieve to anticipate your requests. The food is well presented and when you say fresh fish it really means FRESH... The wine list is wide and offers a wide selection of the most famous italian wines. Overall a fantastic experience

This is a smart and stylish restaurant, with a really buzzy atmosphere. There were 6 of us on a Saturday night and the place was heaving with friends, families and couples.I love Italian food and was pleased with the choices of fantastic salamis and hams as a starter which a few of us shared, also had an amazing linguine with lobster that was delicious followed by a grilled veal chop with buttery green vegetables. My friends enjoyed grilled halibut and sea bass which was equally yummy. The portions are large and at £10-£20 for a starter and £25-£45 for a main course (without vegetables), they should be. Although we had a great evening, for the two of us, two courses with wine and coffee, our portion of the bill amounted to £210, and for that price i think there are definitely better restaurants in London, costing less money that are just as good, if not better.

The food was great, and it was nice to find an Italian which does not feel the need to put pizza on the menu. The staff where friendly and provided a good service. The restaurant had a good selection of cheese and meat on display.I think it has only recently opened, but I would be surprised if it gets a star a some point.

We arrived on time for our booking and were met by some friendly efficient staff who took our coats and offered us a choice if tables. It was my wife's birthday and we enjoyed a couple of excellently made cocktails.Food and service was excellent throughout with a number if checks made to ensure our satisfaction. The restaurant was more or less fully booked and there was a good atmosphere.Tables did seen to be fairly close to each other but with London overheads and wages I suspect it has to be this way.Portion size was fair, not overly large and my wife had beef fillet, I stole a bit if it and the flavour was super. My duck breast main was equally as tasty.I enjoyed a selection of Italian cheeses and whilst my wife did not choose a dessert she was later presented with a dessert and a birthday greeting (see picture).Overall an excellent evening and a happy wife , what more could you ask for?

We went here for dinner with our friends. We had heard mixed reports but went with an open mind. The service was diabolical and we will definitely not go back. The food was actually ok. We were so rushed by the waitress it felt like a cafe. The accoustics are dreadful. This restaurant probably will not last. The girl on reception was so unprofessional and really didnt care about the guests.

Banca is in many ways a typically noisy London Italian restaurant. It does however have an excellent (if slightly noisy) atmosphere, a good wine list and decent food. A couple of things they could do better would be the arrangement at the bar. They have a fabulous long bar but the set up of the restaurant in no way encourages you to use it as there is effectively no room to sit at it without getting in the way.The service we had was a little variable regrettably with the starters in particular taking an age to arrive but it may have just been an off day. The waiters did in general look very busy and to be working hard. Not the best Italian in the world but far from the worst and definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.

Lovely dining room and atmosphere. Menu provides real choice of food and flavours, and prices range from medium to high. Extensive Italian wine selection, with an excellent bottle selected by the sommelier. Staff generally keen to please and happy although a couple of requests had to be repeated. Coffees forgotten, but following delayed arrival the cost was at once removed from the bill without asking. We will return for further special occasions, if only to witness some spectacular examples of face-lifted ladies that lunch. Do they honestly believe that their appearance has been enhanced? An inevitable, if unappetising sight in fashionable London restaurants perhaps.

they are quite friendly and good looking... and their interior is filled with gold and looks like theater and rich people.... as their pastas are al dente, fresh and handmade..... even the "amuse-bouche" are ok.... but something's missing in there.... a real surprise on the menu... but no, that one's just done to show the most classical of Italy's "cuisine"... the nice part: you can lunch the whole afternoon..... and leave just before the six o'clock siesta.... i would anyway never go there for dinner... a real inside for lunch... in the night, it must look too precious when the candles are burning.... even if there are no candles...lol

We went here based on TA reviews and were happy we did. As it was our last night in London after a month in Europe we wanted a special occasion restaurant and Banca is. The food was great from salumi to pasta to fish, meat and desserts. The wine list is expansive (particularly Italian) and expensive. The sommelier was very helpful. Having dined at other top Italian restaurants in London I would rate Banca above them all. I wish we had a Banca in Sydney.

A nice departure from a typical Italian restaurant in many ways, including that the staff at Banca are warm and welcoming. We had an excellent business dinner for 8 with a wide assortment of many courses. The food was uniformly excellent: fresh, unique and tasteful, with only one curious exception. The one person at our table who had a pasta dish reported that it was not cooked properly--a sin for an Italian restaurant of this quality. To its defense, our diner did not report the pasta error, so the restaurant had no opportunity to correct it. Banca's wine list is astounding, and the Sommelier was very helpful. We did not sample the desserts, but had an extensive cheese course that was sublime.

I had dinner at the bar here several nights ago, as I was dining by myself. The manager was incredibly friendly. I had the pumpkin pasta in a beure blanc sauce with sage, which was delicious. Portions are reasonable, but not huge. Sitting at the bar was a nice bonus. In the evenings, they provide complimentary (heavy) snacks while you drink or wait for your meal. I would absolutely recommend this restaurant.

I have now eaten at Banca three times, one business lunch and two dinners with friends. The setting is elegant and minimalist (very high end Milanese looking) and the service attentive but not obtrusive - I hate being asked every five seconds if my meal is ok. The menu is essentially a Banca take on Cipriani (the vitello tonato and scallop carpaccio is excellent) with superb al dente pasta. On my last visit in December I had the tuna, which was perfectly pink, the veal and steak ordered by my friends looked mouth watering also. The wine list is good and not ridiculous, we had a sommelier recommended red and some champagne. The quality of Italian food in London is getting so good these days and Banca is a great example of this. I highly recommend it.

We have had 2 meals at BANCA in North Audley Street in London during the last few weeks. Both were for Lunch and both were excellent. The service is very good with a very pleasant Staff and a professional approach. The menu covers all tastes and we enjoyed everything that we had ordered. We were so pleased after the first meal that we invited Friends for lunch on a busy week day. Although the restaurant was full and serving 100 covers everything went well and again food was excellent and service was spot on.Please try this new Italian Resturant which is very good and not over priced for London.

We were 5 persons and every one ordered a different entree, main course and desert. We looked every time at our plates and all were empty. Well the food is excellent, actually I had the spagettini with Lobster and made a remark to the manager that it was as good as the one I had a few months ago in Capri! The service very pleasant and attentive from beginning till the end. The best to come...the Owner was sitting at the bar watching...insisted on asking us graciously how was our lunch and if we had any comment. Well done Banca, I will certainly return with more friends.

This lovely restaurant is very new and the staff are very enthusiastic and friendly. We stumbled across it and how glad we did. The decor was beautiful no expense spared it was truly beautiful in its style. We had asked for a wine to match what we would normally drink( burgundy) and we were advised to try an Italian white with this in mind. It was a very good choice and now will look to get this in other restaurants. The staff are very attentive but not too fussy. We both chose pasta. Mine was probably one of the best pastas I have ever eaten. Pumpkin , sage and butter. Very simple but excellently presented and delicious. My husband had the lamb ragu parpadelle with pine nuts which he said was divine. Overall with water and service our bill was just over £60. Very reasonable for this type of food and service. We were really impressed with banca and next time in London we will be going there for a long lunch or an evening meal without a doubt. Good luck for your future banca you have all the right ingredients for success.

North Audley Street is just south of the main shopping landmarks of Marks and Spencer and Selfridge's on Oxford Street. Many of its former banks and boutiques have now been converted to restaurants, and Banca Italiana is the stylish name for a corner site once occupied by the Nat West bank. It's a new venture. Outside it's all plate glass and there's a corner doorway with a reception desk, smart receptionists and a duo of telephones. The ambiance is swish and slightly offbeat, a sign of the times. The walls are decorated in shiny patterned grey paper. The main dining area is articulated and contained by white pillars. Above, two large circles of coronet-like glass enclose filaments of amber lighting, giving the diners a faintly unhealthy hue. The tables on the far side have curved off-white banquettes with chairs opposite. The tableware is plain white and the tumblers one of the clumsiest choices of pressed glass you could imagine. As you take this in on arrival, you notice that down the near side there is a long bar with barstools, while across the floor, there's a sort of food assembly area with a few guys with chef's hats and a boss-man with a small mike and an earpiece, co-ordinating the orders. Having read the single review on TripAdvisor for this new arrival on the Mayfair scene, I was prepared for the worst, but on the contrary, our meal was extremely good, the service was slick and unobtrusive, and the prices were reasonable for this part of the world. Two of our party started with zucchini and carrots, cut into the finest matchsticks and lightly fried in batter. A spinach salad and a pasta and fagioli also went down well. Our main courses were also very good. Vitello tonnato usually swims in its sauce - this had the sauce dribbled across the finely sliced pieces. The baby chicken diavola was crisp and well seasoned. My wife said her breast of guinea foul was excellent, with a distinctive, but delicious sauce. I chose a fillet of beef, which was priced at £33 but was superb; the meat was perfectly lean and tender, served 'a point' and cut like a chateaubriand, and laid out over bitter Swiss chard which cut the sweet gravy nicely. Two of us were tempted, unusually, to have a dessert and were not disappointed with our stewed plums and an imaginative semifreddo nougatine with caramel sauce. The price including service and a carafe of red came out at barely over £50 a head. By the time we left, the place was heaving with diners and drinkers at the bar, and echoing to their happy and animated voices.

Excited for a night out sans kids and should have stayed home as this was not good value . I ordered the mozzarella, tomato appetiser and it was decent. But the main, the pumpkin ravioli with butter and sage, was totally dry and uninspiring. A very pricey evening for blah food. And not much of it! Toilet paper was very cool though!

Five of us called in while in London nearby for a business lunch. Very different as you have to do down into an underground area. The decor is modern but with an industrial/classic feel. I am not a fan of pizza but we all ordered pizza as recommended by one of our group and I am glad we did as it was very good - as far as pizza goes. The atmosphere was great and the service was excellent. Highly recommend for somewhere interesting and quirky. The only down side was it was a bit pricey but I suppose we were in London!

Walking I noticed this small pizzeria characterized by a wood oven. The furniture is typical of an Italian trattoria. The staff is friendly, rapid and attentive to the customer just as you expect in Italy. The pizza is exceptional. The dough is well leavened and, therefore, light. The condiments are of excellent quality. Cooking is perfect. Excellent beer and ice cream also fully satisfies the palate. The account is adequate.
