Best Indian restaurant ever. I am leaving UK and I can not imagine not visiting this magnificent place, and the absolute stuff. I will miss you 🙌

We’ve been coming to this cosy restaurant since it opened in 1995 but hadn’t visited for a while. Not much has changed in the restaurant in this time, still very high standards, friendly staff who over deliver and very tasty Indian food. Would always recommend this restaurant to friends.

food was absolutely delicious. staff were lovely and was greeted with bright smiles the second we walked through the doors.

I had the lamb madras and pilau rice, which was excellent. The food and service is so good. Well done to the chef and managers.

Had to spend the night in Luton to be on time for a flight, got caught up in what we were doing beforehand and staff were very understanding and let us push out booking back. Daal was a smidgen salty but otherwise excellent. General standard of food was very good - it wasn't a "life changing" flavour experience but I'm certain you could go and not be disappointed. Good selection of bottled beers. Friendly staff too. All round good experience, will absolutely go again if I'm in Luton.

Has quickly become our favourite Indian for both eat in and take away. The food is consistently fabulous. We love the selection on the menu. The staff are just lovely, cannot do enough for you, even offering to cook a dish we liked that wasn't on the menu! They also interact with us like we are family/friends it's so welcoming. Highly recommend this place 👌

We have been regular visitors to Baltistan for many many years - in the past we have enjoyed the great selection at the Sunday Buffett and the great value gourmet nights!!! We visited as a family of 11 this evening and the food as always was delicious hot and all dishes ready at the same time enjoyed by all the staff were outstanding friendly and attentive Look forward to many more visits!!!

We went as a family of 12 and had such a lovely time. The service was outstanding, the food was amazing and the staff are very attentive. Would highly recommend for a family gathering. We will definitely be returning. Thank you

Great food and kind staff. Food quality is always great! Good atmosphere too. Only down side is the Coca Cola is out a bottle and isn’t kept cold and is quite flat. Could do with being Cans that are kept in the fridge.

This has been our favourite restaurant for several years , it's very comfortable and has roomy seating The food is always spot on We had onion bhajia and sheek kebab starter and then chicken dhansak,panir bhuna, tarka dal main course , Bombay aloo, and garlic naan several pints of kingfisher , really friendly chatty staff and a lovely evening , simply the best

We went for the Tuesday gourmet night. The food was delicious, the service was attentive, and the value was excellent. Their was so much food we couldn’t eat it all, so the staff kindly bagged it up for us and it still tasted great the next day. We’ll definitely be going back soon.

Favourite Curry Thought I would share my weekly curry. Chicken Tikka madras (extra lemon and extra Coriander). The Baltistan makes this to perfection. Absolutely delicious. Well worth a try - make sure Chicken Tikka meat rather than just chicken. A little more expensive but so worth it. Would include a photo but all gone.

Our flight from Luton got cancelled on a Saturday night and after 5 airport pints, without a place to stay and a flight the following morning, we decided we needed nourishment - being from South London, we tried to go to the only place in Luton we knew...Chicken George...which was closed. Thankfully for us, Baltistan is next door and welcomed us with open arms. Immediately upon entry we were offered pints which we gladly accepted and received instantly. This set the tone for the entire experience. The service was insanely friendly, quick and felt like we were in a friends living room rather than a restaurant. The food arrived quickly and was top top standard, genuinely no complaints - the chicken chilli masala and lamb jalfrezi particular highlights, but also loved the mixed curry and the chicken dansak. We also got a drink on the house at the end which was a lovely touch. Baltistan. What a place. Forever in our hearts. The soul of Luton. Only negative is that we eventually had to share one hotel room between five fellas and I won't lie, the air became thick with smelly fumes. See you in January for my birthday x

We visited Baltistan for 2 friends birthday meal, being the first meal out we’ve had together since restrictions lifted the staff made the evening one to remember. They were so attentive and welcoming! The food was perfect best Indian food I’ve had. They kept the drinks flowing and the atmosphere buzzing will defiantly be returning! Thanks to all the staff at Baltistan for a great night :)

Visited on saturday evening and the prawn cocktail i ordered was covered in sauce and unedible and I sent it back.They came out with the main course but it was not what we ordered and when the mains arrived it was cold as was the rice and nan bread so wont be going back in a hurry.

Ordered a meal at 18:00 on New Years Eve and was informed this would be 30 minutes. Arrived at Restaurant to pickup after 30 minutes and was told the order hadn't been started and to leave my name and number and I would be called within 30 minutes. After sitting in the car outside for 45 minutes went back into the restaurant to be told it wouldn't be long. Eventually got the meal at 20:30 - Two and a half hours after ordering and would not have likely got it at all had I not gone to the restaurant as the initial "note" was still on the counter from my first collection attempt. The meal itself was sub-standard but then again by now everyone had lost their appetite. All it would have taken would have been to be told the truth about timings in the first place - was tried to be fobbed off with a cheap bottle of wine as an apology - not accepted and will never return to this cowboy outfit.

I came here with my father and a colleague. The restaurant is large however they have crammed as many booths in as possible and we were very uncomfortable. When we raised this with the owner he started shouting at us saying many people come here and don’t complain!We sat squashed up.We ordered 2 mix kebab, prawn cocktail and a nargis kebab for starters.Mix kebab was average, nothing special, basic colouring and hardly any flavour. The Nargis kebab was nice lamb on a ball with a boiled egg in the middle. The lamb was raw on the inside! I showed the owner and he replaced it with a mixed kebab for us to takeaway.For mains we wanted to order a Kashmiri Tikka Masala however the owner asked if we wanted lamb or chicken, I showed him the menu where it clearly stated it’s lamb and chicken tikka, he again started arguing and said it’s one or the other ! We chose Kashmiri chicken from the basic menu instead! (See picture)We also had a murgh masala, couldn’t see or taste the mince lamb and the chicken tikka in it had a very off taste to It. Lamb Kazana - this dish was amazing! The lamb was soft, and the gravy was tasty.All in all the customer service is shocking, the curries were not flavoursome, it as if they are afraid to use spice.I asked for a tap water and was told due to corona he cannot give me tap water but I could buy a bottle of water. I have been to many restaurants recently and have never been refused tap water. Furthermore, he gave me a glass of coke poured from a bottle, therefore I fail to see how water from a tap is more risky !! Clearly they are trying to cheat people into spending more.I would not recommend this place and would not return

Favourite Indian restaurant going. We went today for our first post-lockdown meal and felt very safe there, they’ve installed new screens for private booths and offer hand sanitiser on entrance. They’ve had a few other decor updates which make it very homely. Restaurant very clean, food as incredible as always. Thank you so much!

Ordered our very first take away/delivery through just eat last night. The food was lovely and we received a few items more that what we paid for (extra naan) Will definatly order again. Please however can you ensure the just eat delivery driver has a thermal bag as he just delivered it in a bag for life shopping bag!!!

Having gone for two of the recommended chef's specials, we were not disappointed. This place is always good and we always come back!

Baltistan.. beautiful! Service: Service at Baltistan was quite fast especially with starters. The mains were a little bit slower and they brung the food at different times instead of together. The staff who were serving were very understanding when it came to ordering and were very nice. Food:The food at Baltistan was very good, the chicken was soft, the masala was sweet and their onion bhajees were large and crunchy!Environment:Outside of the restaurant it was dirty and messy and not that nice. The interior was brilliant, lots of decorations, great lighting and it was very nice. Cleanliness: The interior of the restaurant was very clean, no rubbish and a lovely food hygiene ratingof 5. The sheets were very clean and the cutlery and dishes were spik and span. Overall:Clean, Tasty and Efficient. Pricing is a bit high however there is unlimited food on Sunday for £11 per adult and £6 per child!WHEELCHAIR ACCESS AVAILABLE

We had a large party of 19 and so not your typical experience. The food was tasty and well prepared, and the portions generous. The staff were courteous and attentive. We took advantage of the "gourmet" night which includes starters, sides, main dish, rice, nan and coffee for £15. I enjoyed every bit of the food, and had so much we packed some up to bring home. The only minor complaint I could make is that it took a longer than we'd have liked for our starters to arrive but I write that off to the very large group and the kitchen wanting to serve everyone at the same time. We noticed other smaller groups being served promptly. I've been going to the Baltistan for many years. There is a lot of competition in Luton for Indian restaurants, but the fact this one is still going after more than 20 years speaks to its consistently pleasing food and service.

Me and my husband first started going to Baltistan a number of years ago and loved it. Over the years we have gone to various different restaurants and both agreed that Baltistan is the best by far. Why bother going anywhere else?!? The staff are so nice, so accommodating and make sure you have everything you need. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Decided to pop in for a cheeky take away after not been to this delightful restaurant. I was greeted warmly by staff and was recognised as one of the regulars. It was a midweek evening but was still fairly busy.My order was taken and brought to me promptly and with a smile and came with a complimentary drinkAlways friendly service I shall not leace it so long next time

I’ve taken-away meals from the Baltistan for years but last night was the first time I’d ever dined-in. Our food was up to its usual high standard; eating-in for the first time meant going for a starter - looking properly at the starters on the menu for the first time - I was pleased to discover a fine Indian take on a Scotch Egg. The long-serving staff are well-drilled, unobtrusive and work together to be seen and not heard. Service is efficient and Sadek’s a Warm and welcoming host. This restaurant accurately describes itself as traditional and, somehow, it feels sufficiently homely that I’m sure I’ll be eating-in and not taking-away a little more often.

Baltistan has never failed to disappoint me. The food is amazing and the service is great! Would highly recommend.

I frequently visited this restaurant before the new management took over,I was very disappointed indeed on my first returning visit .The food was hot and good quality as-well as pricing I thought was reasonable.The problem I had was the lack of customer service ,I felt an annoyance than a valued customer.The only way the bill came was getting our coats on too prompt the bill to be brought over.Leaving not even a goodbye.Indian restaurants pride themselves on great customer service,not this one.best of luck with the future Baltistan,but I won t be back .

Family meal get together. Managed to get a booking for Sat night no problem. Nice set up. Clear, tidy and nice ambience. Good choices on menu. Good service and quite quick.

Saturday evening meal out with friends, our local India and never been let down. All our meals we had were delicious. The service was attentive and friendly. Happy to recommend.

Visited as was staying close by before holiday, we were supposed to go to Saffron but the Uber driver got the wrong address somehow. Anyway we’d seen this on here and the reviews were ok. Staff were good, it was very busy and squeezed us in as it was a discounted night (weds) so the price was very good. Unfortunately every dish apart from the onion Bhaji were poor and way too much salt in all dishes. I had the scotch egg starter and I think the egg was from a Trex it tasted so old and rock hard, sauce and mince on it was so overpowering. Both main courses were not good, lamb in the mixed grill was tough and my sons Baltisan special was again very salty. To be fair I’m sure if we had complained it would have been changed but were tired so left most of it and left. Must have been a different chef to normal or an off night

Great place for friends and family, delicious food and great atmosphere. Friendly staff and very good value for money. Parking can be a problem other than that no complaints. Also they have themes nights too. Fun and food and sometimes entertainment too!

The food in the Baltistan is always very tasty and freshly made! For starters, the choiuces are not your normal Indian fare!> Try the hand-made "scotch-egg", filed with tasty mince and spices!

My experience was really amazing.Incredible food, good value, very professional advice about the food which we should order according what we were interested and our preferences, and the staff was specially nice (all of them) gently, kind, making sure about that everything was fine and about we were comfortablein each moment.I'm sure I will repeat!

nice atmosphere and lovely food. seating area is quite cramped if there are a few of you especially as this cuisine has many different dishes. the staff are very friendly and make you feel welcome! on a weekend/special day (eg Christmas) it can be very busy with the wait taking up to an hour! the soft drinks are over priced but the meals are well priced - I would recommend going on a day with a deal on! I prefer to order from here instead of eating in but thats a personal preference!

Work mates and i used to come to this restaurant on Wednesday every other month and on Friday held a retirement party. The staff are amazingly friendly and the food is full of flavor and comes in very generous proportions. Very fast service.

Servicio que tuvimos durante nuestras visitas ha sido muy buena, la comida es muy sabrosa, y a un precio razonable. Sólo en la carretera, ya que no hay estacionamiento propio. Puede ser necesario utilizar calles laterales durante las horas punta.

Visited late on a Saturday evening, without booking, but were immediately seated. The restaurant was busy and had a lovely atmosphere. We ordered two of the chef's specials that were served promptly, and piping hot. They were delicious. The restaurant, somewhat bizzarely, is decorated in a mock Tudor pub style with an eclectic collection of decor but nonetheless manages to blend it all together. We had not previously visited as the area doesn't look particularly tidy/clean. However, the restaurant itself is immaculate and well worth a visit.

Called here for the first time today 19 3 17. Scruffy area but that's just this part of Luton I guess, Five stars on the door for hygiene and very clean and tidy inside.. WHAT A SUPERB SELECTION THREE RICE DISHES FOR A START, WHO ELSE GIVES THREE ? EVEN A WONDERFUL PRAWN DISH WHICH IS NOT AVAILABLE AT ANY OTHER I HAVE VISITED. I'm picky when it comes to Indian, and this is undeniably the best I've had in Luton. Decent heat in the curries, sizeable portions and terrific service. Worth leaving the town centre for.

They do a deal on the menu which means you end up ordering way too much food. The food is ok but not great and a lot of the main dishes just look the same.

Visited here for a Sunday buffet. We hadn't been on a Sunday and wasn't sure how it worked. There was no price displayed and we had no direction on what to do until we asked. The food variety was pretty good but the food was average compared to others and the staff didn't seem to be interested in communicating with their customers. We had to wait for some time to request the bill and after leaving a generous tip got no thanks or even a goodbye as we left. It wasn't very busy and I wouldn't personally recommend it on a Sunday.
