Balti Hut in Birmingham

We have ordered off these guys for years. However this evening our meals were dry reheated and full of salt. Won't be returning

Never ordered from here before the food was ok, and certainly a lot better than I’ve had take away in this area before. The biggest down fall was delivery time. Ordered online at 6.30 with estimated delivery of 7.20. I didn’t expect 7.20 to be honest an hour is reasonable. However I called at 7.55 and the food did not arrive until 8.15. The driver said you asked not to bang door so I parked down the road! Didn’t quite make sense. As the food was quite hot I assume there was a delay in preparing. It seems a common theme on the reviews recently and for a normal Sunday evening not one I would expect.

Received confirmation email that my order which was placed at 6pm would be delivered at 6.50pm. At 7.20pm I rang to enquire about my order and was told it would be a further 20 minutes! It arrived at 7.58!! Awful service, not even an apology from the delivery driver! This was my first time ordering from here and it’s certainly my last! £35 of poor service, lesson learnt !!

Food was late, item missing off the order, chicken tikka was tough and seemed like it had been rush cooked, poppadoms had burnt taste, however when phoned the shop they did say they were going to send rice and give free starter,wouldn't have complained had the rest of the food been up to scratch

first time on getting from this place and food is great came hot and on time really good value for money

First time ordering since it's been taken over and it did not disappoint! Everything was so fresh and tasty we will definitely be ordering again, 100% recommend.

The food was lovely, although the order was wrong as I ordered 2 lamb balti’s and I received 2 chicken balti’s.

We heard that Balt hut had changed hands. It had always been one of our favourite take a ways but now it is our absolute number one favourite. Food was fabulous!!!! Arrived when stated was hot (touch wise) tasty and there was loads of it . We had a problem finding something on the menu so put a note on our order and it was sorted with no fuss. Would absolutely recommend.

Horrendous experience from start to finish. After a 2 and a half hour wait!!! 3 phone calls later and a boat load of excuses, the food arrived and was incorrect and bland. Would’ve cancelled if we’d not already pre paid. Will not be using again.

Forgot 1 item of my order but within 10 mins of phoning the missing item was here best service incredible food what can I say will deff keep using JOLLI INDIAN as Balti Hut is now called

Earlier than expected and very tasty food

All of the dishes were excellant with the exception of the Tandori main, the chicken was dry and tasteless . However will order again as have had no complaints in the past.

Received my food and it was wrong. They send the wrong nan bread and wrong curry. I asked for the curry to be refunded as it was 20 minutes late and they refused. Customer service was shocking. We are regular customers but will not be ordering from here again!

Always good service and good food.

A little disappointed with the food today, ordered 2 separate curries and couldn't taste any difference between them. Ordered a garlic naan and couldn't taste any garlic. This is the first time I've given a bad review with Balti Hut so I hope it's a one off!!

due to the snow it was late, but the driver was amazing and gave him a tip. food beautiful as always. forgot my chips but I didn’t mention it has they had got here in herendous weather and snow. thankyou

food was really tasty & will definitely order again.! it wasn't that hot so had to reheat which wasn't a problem as it is 3mile away on a busy Friday night. My only criticism would be that the delivery man was proper miserable

Phoned to query where my order was and was politely told 10 minutes away even though it was already late at this point, phoned 25 minutes later to be told it was just leaving the shop so first initial phone call was clearly lied too. For my food to arrive with items missing and cold and whoever I spoke to did apologise stated he was busy and then put the phone down. Granted I appreciate places are busy on a Friday evening but don’t expect to be waiting over 2 hours for my order to arrive and then when it finally arrives to be cold! Will not be ordering again!

1st time using here, food was very nice and delivery was early, would recommend and will be using myself again

lovely food however mushroom fried rice was yellow pilau looking rice which i dislike..i like white fried rice

Really enjoyed this meal but my main (veg jalfrezi) appears to have been removed from the menu which is a shame.

Food Was of reasonable standards

Terrible service and customer service, constant excuses that food has been sent for delivery however nothing was ever send and the order was marked as delivered. Works don't seem to know what's going on.

As I'm writing this it's been over 2 and a half hours since order and still no food will not use again

I know we have snow but over 3 hours is ridiculous and freezing cold

Had the chicken tikka pathia and every piece of chicken was just fatty so ended up in the bin quite disappointed as have enjoyed food from here before

ordered 2x chicken tikka stuffed nan. both were virtually empty not a single peace of chicken and a tiny bit of source. phoned to tell them and says there's was chicken tikka in them ( must have been fairies who stole it ) offered to credit me one chicken tikka stuffed Nan on next order. will not be ordering again. very disappointed !!!

only ordered rice & starters & they were all very nice. egg fried rice - lovely. onion bhaji - abit dry. chicken pakora - very nice. sheek kebab - amazing. will be trying a curry next time & the delivery driver was a lovely guy , full of smiles.

Would like to give more than 6 stars for both delivery and food, it was by far the best I've had in a while and would definitely order again! Driver was very polite.

If you want the day off work. Use balti hut. Cold chips and the curry was a soup with yesterday's chicken in. Will never use again.

Sent tandoori chicken on the bone again!! Not what I ordered and the restaurant insist I have it. Never again.

Always good food from Balti Hut, curries all enjoyable as was the rice and chips. poppadums stale, also when order was phoned in they said 45 mins delivery time, it actually took almost 1hr 30 mins but this is rare. overall will still order from Balti Hut and have been regular customer for years

Won't order here again my order was missing a rice and the chicken fried rice I ordered a large and only got a small Got my madras but it was awful Chicken tikka masala well I've never been so disappointed I should have sent it back but what can you do when its on you're plates

Food was good but received a lamb tika Massala and not what I ordered a chicken tikka masala. Hard to mix a chicken with a lamb but oh well.

ordered at 20 past 5 and they said it would be here for 6.05, its gets to 6.20 and still no food so I call and they said it's out for delivery, 6.45 and still no food I ring again and they said it will be 10 minutes and there's still no sign I'm am disgusted at the service and how long it's taking !

Normally very good, but tonight my food was a bit average. Chicken was hard and chewy, my Naan was tasteless and the delivery was late so my baji's were soggy. Meh.

Food wasn't on time it was 1 1/2 hr late, we phoned balti Hut and they just said they were really busy and it would be another 15 minutes which turned into another 30 minutes later then food arrived, my food wasn't the correct balti I ordered tandoori dilpasand and got chicken balti.

Wrong food delivered. Ordered vegetable mix starter... no idea what was delivered by definately not this. Otherwise food was good!

Food too salty, over cooked hard chicken pieces inedible.... Shish lamb kebab was not up to a kebab meat look. Not kebab meat. Very disappointing yet again.

Been ordering from this take away for years. Have tried many others but always end up back here. However the last few times that we have ordered the delivery times have gotten longer and longer. I had to call twice to find out where our order was. Although the food was delicious it was only just warm and had to be reheated. I think it's time to look elsewhere now. Shame because food is great.

Missed an item off the order again, phoned them & asked for it to be sent, put our meal in oven to keep warm, driver came with what was missing but it was the wrong thing! Phoned again but decided to eat before missing item came as the food was drying up. The food was bland with no flavour so definitely won't be ordering from them again! Total waste of £17 as most was thrown away!

Order arrived 30 minutes late, and was missing items. Called and asked for the driver to return our money for the items we hadn't received, told no idea when that would be, even though he'd only just driven off. Offered to send them after, no point as the rest would be cold. Told that's all they would do and they hung up on me. Vile disgusting service. Don't use!

Ordered at 19.08 meal arrived 21.30... Driver said they were busy. .. Two and a half hours is pushing it quite a bit. Food had to be reheated it was just warm. Had phoned them twice. First time they said it was on it's way. That was about 6.30pm. The phone was constantly engaged after that... Very poor overall service.

It was late when it got here is was wrong nann bread and I had to call to chase it up then even though i paid the delivery man tried to get me paid again won't be using them again

I love the food. But I always ask for no coriander in the food and every time the order is wrong and I have lots of coriander. I even put a note saying allergic and still get coriander

45 minutes late. Called restaurant 3 times and said they would ring the driver and hung up on me. Tikka masala was watery. Not a great first try.

The best take away curry in the area in my opinion. Will not go anywhere else. Although this order they forgot our rice and when I called they said we hadn't ordered rice, after checking my order after eating we had ordered it, this is the first time this has happened so we let it go.

Nice food plenty of the curry, but the same old story with the starter sauce half a tub between 2 people, to go with 4 big onion bhajis and 4 pieces of chicken pakora and popadoms and oinon and salard, which were nice if we had a bit more sauce. I had to get the Mayo out.

Extremely quick delivery (almost too quick?) very chewy hard chicken. Both currently have a poorly stomach!
