Lovely service and food is fantastic

I can say this was the very best Indian takeaway I've ever had. The depth of flavour was far superior to anything else and after speaking to the chef the level of heat was perfect for my personal liking. I gave 4 stars for service and atmosphere because I didn't eat in the restaurant. I shared with my companion the Poppadoms, Chicken Tikka Madras, Meet Bhuna, Coriander Naan and Plain Naan. I'll be back very soon 😊

6 of us went here last week, was was 15 minutes late and they was tutting at us as we arrived, then the staff was rude to us throughout the night, food portions are small and not that nice, I don't usually do bad reviews but this place isn't good.

Went to Dilshad oldswinfird a few New items onthe menus so I had whst was describe ad crispy king prawns,well it can and I called the waiter and sent it back it was those prawns wrapped in pastry you buy from Iceland at Christmas finger food taste like cardboard, my husbands onion bargis was cold .Atmosphere not good notice only one regular staff when my husband paid the bill he was told don't order those again as they want change my husband said I want as we're not comei g again .mens toilets were dirty water comei g out of the dink so wTer every were attitude was vile the whole restraint has drastically gone done eith the food and staff .

Great food. The dishes have detailed and layered flavours, that are well cooked with the right amount of heat you expect from the respective choice. These dishes don't have unnecessary sugar and thickeners added. An excellent Indian restaurant.

Decided to go here for a 24th birthday and couldn't be more disappointed! Although food was amazing the service was very cold to say the least - to the point of feeling very rushed. Half way through eating they took away our paid for sauces without asking because they were running out if dishes with a half full resturant. No service throughtout, not even an ask if the food was okay. At the end without even asking anything a bill arrived, before we even had chance to ask for dessert which we all wanted. It was very rude and very forceful. Must be very sure of themselves and that was the vibe all over. After a conversation with the manager, again very sure of himself, i was told they've been in business for 45 years and that table was only until 7pm, first id heard of it. Was told to leave the premesis as if i dare question them. We were paying customers and were treated very poorly. If they only gave us 1.5 hrs, we would've been okay with that, but not with the attitude and forceful atmosphere that came with it. Will never go back, once a business starts telling customers its over and the manager is simply not a manager. No apologises, no nothing. Front of house staff completely lets the restaurant down. Shame.

One of our party had to suddenly go home sick. We were reprimanded by one of the waiters as we had lost them money. They have now lost a lot more as we will be chosing another restaurant in the future. 😞

Had a nice meal here. Not licensed so bring your own booze if you want that. Tesco over the road if you forget. Reasonably priced, decent sized portions and all served nice and hot. I had the chicken tikka masala and rice, lovely flavour and friends who had lamb said it was nice too, although not the most tender lamb that they've ever had. Staff helpful and swift.

Specifically ordered a curry we were told didn't contain onions and it arrived with onions. Hair found in chips, poppadoms burnt and chicken wasn't great. Very disappointed

Long story short. We booked at 5pm for a table at 6.30 (well done for getting us in on short notice), we were hurried along to our seats no introduction nothing. Server came over to take our order which could not fault but the poppadoms were extremely soft and obviously out of date- turned into a chapatti with as soon as a drop of sauce went on them. The starter was mediocre at best. The only “worth it” food was my dads madras. Me and my mum ordered a balti which tasted like a microwave meal. We can understand it’s Christmas and it’s busy but still produce quality food if you’re going to charge the same price!! Servers kept staring at multiple women who walked in and chatting to each other in a flirtatious way about these women. Disgusting behaviour from so called professionals. Avoid and spend your money to those who deserve it.

I have been a regular customer of Balti Dilshad in Oldswinford for many years now. The takeaway service here is excellent and the food is always fresh and full of flavour. The meals are always generous and reasonably priced. The staff are always friendly and efficient, and they go out of their way to accommodate requests. The curry dishes are second to none, and there is a great selection of rice, breads and accompaniments to choose from. I can highly recommend Balti Dilshad for a delicious takeaway experience.

Went there with my friends. The food was scrumptious. And yes, Specially their Chicken Tikka Palak was absolutely finger licking. Found it as one of best spot for Indian cuisine. Loved their ambiance and quality of food!

Came here with my friends on a night out, a very busy restaurant - packed. I'm not into overally spicy food. The young waiter recommended "Chef's Special" Delish!!! Their Garlic sag rice is to die for!!!

I recently tried the Green Murgh dish at Dilshad and it was amazing! The flavor was so unique and complex, with a mix of spices like cumin, coriander, and turmeric. The chicken was cooked perfectly and was very tender. The dish was served with a delicious green sauce that had a hint of sweetness and a bit of spice. The presentation was also very impressive, the Green Murgh dish was a great experience and I would highly recommend it!

Can't fault the dilshad food was excellent, staff couldn't do enough for me and my partner I arrived not booking a table they said they could seat us around 45 minutes but was actually 20 minutes. Bonus we could take our own drinks even though they have soft drinks. Prices of food is very good also Parking around the back. Will definitely be back

Came here on Monday, a night out, lovely meal, I was recommended a dish called Claypot by the young waiter. Will visit again.

Used Dilshad many times. Food today awful. Chicken was very dry, sauce watery and tasteless. Nan bread was tough and the popadoms greasy.

Had an absolute pleasure being served by the most wonderful waiter ever, by the name Nazmul. Food was also a delight. The whole evening was splendid and warrants this restaurant a five stars from me.

Unacceptable. The food was beautiful but there was a young waiter there that 1- told me I was sweet and went to the Tesco over the road and got me some chocolates. Then we were told our meal was free because the card machine wasn’t working and our meal was not free. As I walked off i was asked by a man behind the bar if I was going to pay so we did, even though we were told our meal was for free? Before we left the young waiter asked if I was going to go upstairs to get into bed with the chef who was my age (very young) it was completely inappropriate and I do not appreciate being asked to sleep with the chef. We also paid more than what we were charged. Completely unacceptable and I warn females to steer clear.

Appalling! Will absolutely not be going again. Me and partner were regulars to this Indian however I will absolutely not return! I went with a few of my friends (all female) and can say we had the most uncomfortable experience with one particular waiter. Who basically bribed us with chocolates and implied one of my friends should go upstairs and sleep with him! We were then told several times the meal was free due to card payment issues and when we came to leave the restaurant we were accused of leaving without paying. I felt SO uncomfortable about the situation I returned to the restaurant and verbally complained about this waiters attitude. I believe my comments were most likely disregarded. Never have I felt so disrespected. I also noticed that there was a significant lack of females in the restaurant (just me and my friends) I have a feeling this waiters behaviour is driving certain customers away. I certainly won't be returning and advise everyone to stay well away! *Wish I could put no stars. They don't even deserve one!

Possibly the worst restaurant I’ve ever been to. Staff were extremely rude. After waiting hour and half for our main I asked the waiter how much longer it would be and he replied with ‘do I look like the chef!’ When my daughters meal finally came out it wasn’t what we ordered so we had to wait even longer. When the bill came they tried to charge for meal we didn’t order or eat. When I challenged this they became very aggressive and refused to take it off the bill. This was supposed to be a good night out with friends, my wife and daughter, it turned out to be disaster. Overall the food was very poor quality and the service even worse. We will never return.

After nearly 40 years this place has eventually forced itself off my Radar.Only had plain Tikka and still got ill with Delhi Belhi. Apparently under a new crew.

We have been going here for years. Never again. It was our friend's birthday one of the waiters commented that he remembers us being there last year, sparklers on the cake etc. We're having a nice time despite the lude comment by one waiter to the women and asking 3 times for water before it arrived. We asked if we could order some coffees and some plates for the cake we'd brought our friend. They took the coffee order and 5 mins later brought a small cake with candles lit singing happy birthday. We genuinely thought this was the restaurant as a gesture of regular customers bringing this cake. Once the candles were blown and cut it was only then apparent that the cake was actually for another party. We offered them our cake but they didn't want it, then a little while later the restaurant must have got one from Tesco for the other party. We were pretty embarrassed over this. But then the bill came. They charged us £10 for the cake we hadn't ordered it and it was a few pounds worth at best. We complained and they refused to take it off the bill. The other party was disgusted and they have now lost 15 people's repeat custom.as both parties vowed never to return. Strange business model to alienate 15 people for £10. The managers attitude in particular was appalling and the one waiter, whose mistake it was, kept blaming us for asking for a "cake" which we had no idea was behind the bar.

Dilshad is a place we have been to many times in the last 30 years. We walked in at 5:30 on a Saturday and were seated in a comfy place. Menus was full of tasty curries and other Indian dishes, fantastic staff, food and reasonably priced. Thank you yum yum 😋

Food was not great, watery curry sauce, service is bad and attitude terrible. Nothing good to say about this place and definitely will not be returning. Had to ask 3 times and wait over a further 20 mins to place main food order. Part of the order was wrong, so had to ask for what we actually ordered, then was charged twice. Staff were rude and argumentative and this was just for asking how long the food would be having waited an hour for it to arrive at the table. We had decided to leave when food finally did arrive. I wish we had. The staff have no idea about customer service. When we questioned the bill, again got a rude response and refused to take the incorrect item off the bill, asked for the manager and someone else came over (not the manager) and still didn’t want to adjust bill. I could go on! Very disappointing experience. There are many other restaurants much better than this in all aspects.

Had a takeaway from here. Fish pakora starter. Big portion but a bit bland. Lots of free poppadoms and onion salad. Chicken pathia was a bit runny and wasn't spicy enough for my taste. Good portion and lots of nice chicken. Chicken tikka naan Was poor think they forgot the chicken? Keema cheese naans very nice I'm told full of meet and cheese. Korma was as a korma spicy rice was nice and chicken tikka masala I'm told was nice so maybe if I'm passing again I would change my meal and ask to make it more spicy and wouldn't have the chicken tikka naan. Chips were standard frozen fat chips cooked nice but not great quality. Restaurant looked nice inside and was busy

Our first visit here. Had a lovely meal and were well looked after.

This place definitely wins the award for meanest ingredients. By far the worst meal we've had in a long while. The Balti and Jalfrezi tasted exactly the same, obviously from the same gravy slop pot. Loads of onions, as they're cheap, these were hard and not sweated down properly. We found a couple of chillies. The pilau rice was greasy, naan wasn't cooked and was like dough, and a dhal that was full of garlic, bright yellow and inedible. I make Tarka Dhal and I know what it's supposed to taste like! My husband fancied a portion of chips as he's from up North, these were raw. They were changed, but not for a new portion, the same ones were produced but a bit browner. Couldn't wait to get out of there and had heartburn most of the night. Avoid at all costs

I've always liked this place and had amazing curry's here I particularly like the chicken dupiaza none better anywhere but sadly maybe due to a new chef it isn't the same 😪

The worst Indian meal we have ever experienced, ordered 2 chicken tika balti when it came it was just like a water curry coloured bowl of soup, my wife couldn't eat hers. We got up and left £20 and walked out. Never going back again ever.

Tandoori chicken was beautiful. Delivery was in the time given over the phone. Most of the containers had leaked inside the bag and covered everything else. King prawn biriani had only one complete prawn in it, and one other that appeared macerated. Have eaten from here before without any bad experiences, however tonight's episode has sadly put me off for the future.

After moving to the local area we sourced out this Indian as our local takeaway ...I must say the food was cooked to excellence and delivered within half an hour as stated ...Really enjoyable and definitely will be ordering from again as food was hot and delicious.....

My favorite Indian, I've eaten her well over 17 years now, only once had a poor meal, always consistent.

Ordered three chicken balti, rice, naan breads. Took ages to come, it was the wrong curry they sent vegetarian balti and it was cold. When we rang up they said we was wrong and just fobed us off. They have lost a regular customer, never again.

The wife and kids said it was but I thought it was absolutely terrible. Firstly delivery was smack on time and driver very friendly and polite. My sheese kebab starter I would seriously question if it was fresh made or frozen, very dry no taste at all. The curry a lalesh special omg how much water was used? It literally ran out the bowl and split from the paste on the plate. Lamb very tough and prawn it stank of fish not a great sign. The first taste of the dish a month full of lemon slice. There are lots of Indian takeaways in this area and you should expect exceptional food seeing as we are only 9 miles from the Balti triangle. This is a place I would steer extremely well clear of

We have been ordering from dilshad for a while now and never had an issue. Tonight we ordered food came early which wasn't a problem.. When it came to dish the food up we was missing a few items not a problem we will ring them up hopefully they will send them out.. I was wrong they didn't belive we was missing items hears talking and shouting down the phone to each other no apologies nothing they told me they would ring me back waited 15 minutes no call back food has gone cold rang back they asked us to wait while they took another order on another call they then once again said that everything had been delivered it hadn't we asked if we could have some more sent out which they then mumbled to each other we said look our food has gone cold can we have a refund please they said they would come and pick the food up no apologies nothing and still 1 hour later nothing customer service skills are shocking won't be ordering from there again

Service wasn’t that good . Food was good was charged £1 to take what I couldn’t eat home.

To be fair the food was generally ok but very angry that the set menu I wanted to order from was ALL chicken and when I said I was vegetarian and could I swap the chicken for a veggie alternative I was given a list of blunt excuses of why they ‘couldn’t’. I’ve never had an issue with this at any other restaurant and this to me as I said to the manager was pure discrimination

The waiter missed a dish off our order, told us we were wrong, and then when we finally persuaded him to fetch the missing dish he made sure to say he'd add it to the bill. The food was fine, but the service will put me off going back.
