Delicious food served by friendly and efficient staff. Definitely worth a visit.

Had 2 haddock suppers over the past few weeks absolutely beautiful fish and batter. Service always good. Forgot to ask for haddock suppers today. Rock turbert 🤢 minging! Dry and tasteless. A total waste of money! My own fault but forgot to specify haddock!

It's a good plaice (got to be done) to get a fish supper. Always get great food and friendly service in here. My new favorite chipper.

Aye, that chippy was pure mince, no doubt aboot it. The fish was dead on arrival, soggy as a wet day in Aberdeen, and the chips were not better - more like raw tatties. Staff were as useful as a chocolate teapot, not a smile or a bit of banter to be seen. Fair annoyed with the whole thing, and you wont see me on their doorstep again! 😡

First trip home from Manchester for 10 months and first stop always Balmedie Chipper for haddock supper on way out from airport. Best chipper for miles by far. Can phone in orders and pick up also. Love it 😀

Had fish and chips here and it was cooked to perfection. Batter was brilliant and the chips were fantastic.

Nice and clean and quick service, my only gripe is I ordered a mock chop but it didn't taste like one I don't know what it was but it definitely wasn't a proper mock chop, not sure if I would go back

Balmedie fish & chips the best in Aberdeenshire. Fish batter's always crispy and large portions. Steak pie's crispy on the outside and real steak and gravy on the inside. Always a friendly and speedy service if you have not visited the you dont know what your missing.

This is one of the top fish and chip shops in Aberdeenshire. The food is always excellent the salt and vinegar ratio in my opinion is spot on. I’d especially great on a trip back from or to Aberdeen and Ellon. 5 star

Just popped in past for a rare treat, asked if they did jumbo fish supper, yes they did. It was cooked fresh as was the chips, no grease at the bottom of the tray, and it was magnificent. 1st class 👍👍

Stopped into Balmedie by sheer dumb luck as we arrived at a nearby airbnb pretty late in the evening and nothing was open. While driving to a nearby grocery store, we saw Balmedie and figured it would be a much better option. The fish and chips were one of the our top from our 2 week trip in Scotland after eating at a dozen or so other chippys. The staff was very patient as we ended up having to place several orders to get everything we wanted. In addition to fish and chips, we also tried their steak pie, jalepeno poppers, and chili baked potato which were all good as well.

Not had a chippy for a while used balmedie chippy load of times always great.But this fish was poor small over cooked

Recommended by the persons father where we were visiting. 2 Large Fish & Chip Suppers,1 Medium,1 Small (Haddock) & Fruity curry Sauce, all cooked fresh!! Good selection on menu, plenty for Vegetarians. All very reasonably priced. The place was spotless, the staff were super friendly and one staff member was singing along to the radio, which was funny as she seemed oblivious she was throwing the tune out, while working, good to see staff happy!! The Supper was excellent still hot when we arrived back and perfectly cooked. 5 ***** Would highly recommend and will be 110% back and looking forward to the next visit. Thank you staff!!

Quick service,great fish n chips

Quite small portions. The jumbo haddock was no bigger if not smaller than other places standard and the standard was very small.

Wrong order waited over half hr oh forgot to put yor order in EH!!! IT WAS TAKEN AT TILL. HAD TO ASK WHERE OUR ORDER WAS. BLOODY SHAMBLES IT WASNT EVEN FINE.

I think we've given this place enough chances. Fish seriously overcooked, chips limp and greasy, had to wait twenty-five minutes from time of ordering, and certainly not cheap. If you're going to charge £24 for two haddock suppers and two extra portions of chips, you need to make sure the quality is high. This was not.

Always freshly cooked, clean & prices are very reasonable, highly recommend

Food was inedible staff not very helpful i wouldn't ever go back unless there was big changes.

Great fish and chips. Just make sure you also get some tartre sauce as well everyportion was eaten to hastely to completion. Looking for an excuse to come back and have some more.

Great fish n chips , fresh as a daisy

Freshly cooked fish! Sounds easy, but not every place can manage it. The Haddock was absolutely perfect - beautifully flaky moist take fresh and tasty, and the setup during Level ?? worked really well. Well done to you all!!👍👍👍

Chicken fillet was good, fish even better. Light and crispy today. Not dry. Wish they would offer chicken thighs in future. (Or do they already? I forgot) Def Will come back

Went out to balmedie chipper as good reviews. It was awful I’m sorry to say. A fish and chip shop lives and dies on its fish and chips and the fish was truly terrible. Way over cooked fish was dry, the batter was hard , not light and crispy, and chips were average at best. Service was good,but I won’t be back,so , that doesn’t help. Sorry,just being honest.

Excellent value fish and chips never disappoints.

Phoned and placed my order 1 hour later eventually get it after having to stand in a queue with people who were just placing order!!! When I phoned was told 20 minutes and it would be ready....why can't there be a queue for people who have placed an order? When it came to my place in the queue....I paid then was asked what I had ordered and told to stand over to the side!!! Why not tell me when I phoned...listen don't bother doing it this way just come along and you will get served quicker!!!! Food wasn't even hot when I got home!!! Really disappointed😠

The meals here must be fantastic as there has always been a massive queue whenever I've visited. I have never had the patience to wait to be served. One day day my chips will come.

After reading all the positive reviews I was very disappointed with my fish supper. It was small and overcooked quite dry. Son enjoyed the batter but I didn't and I left more than half of the fish. The chips were average. I would not go back. Plenty better chippers so maybe I have just not been appreciating them enough.

Now I use this chip shop only once a week on my way home to aberdeen on a Friday night nice clean very tasty fish that leaves a nice taste after no complaints

Really good system to order and collect while social distancing. Quality high as ever and friendly (but not over the top) service.

Great to see it reopen last week, at peak times be prepared to wait outside for up to 30 mins after ordering Well worth the wait. Waiting time should decrease as demand is very high so soon after reopening.

The food is great when they will serve you, just a shame they don't serve fish & chips up until they close. Got there 20 mins before their closing time and they inform me the fryers are off so i can only have a pie...no apology or anything! What kind of service is that?! Terribly complacent, they keep very busy as have no nearby competition, so they feel no need to give customers good service any more

Popular fish and chip. Works well to phone in order and collect. Best to go for Jumbo haddock and chips supper, but also does 1/2 chips for those that are waist concerned.

As always one of the best chippers in the North East of Scotland. Chicken fillets are nice and crispy and chunky and the chips are always good. Top marks 😋

Definitely best chips ive had for ages and masses of cheese.

Staying at bridge of Don hotel, 5 minute drive north to find a beautiful piece of haddock and expertly fried chips. Kids thoroughly enjoyed their sausage supper as well.

We went here on a whim as there was no other fish and chip shop along the coast north of Aberdeen that we could find (unbelievable, considering there are many tourist attractions!). I've been to many bad fish and chip shops so was worried and it was a bit of a gamble, but to my astonishment the Balmedie Fish and Chip shop was one of the best I have ever been to! Amazingly fresh fish, perfectly cooked, not greasy and for a great price. Will definitely be coming here again. Highly recommended.
