Sadly I don’t know if it’s still open. Website never works and any time I’ve been over they don’t have the basis like curry sauce or chips. Haven’t been since the start of the year.

Absolutely dreadful fish and chip shop. The quality of the food is dire and also very expensive. Chicken fillet burger was dripping with grease and water. The place had ran out of its usual frozen chips on a Saturday at lunchtime. I have also witnessed the owner being rude to an elderly customer. Do yourself a favour and drive to another village and another chip shop.

What a disappointment two skimpy bits of fish and the chips had obviously been sitting for a while one by ball but not two. Won’t be back. Poor

Wow! What an amazing find!! This is the quintessential family run chippy restaurant. No unnecessary frills. A dozen or so tables inside and a few picnic benches outside. We’re in Co Antrim for six weeks, particularly for me convalescing from serious illness. Sadly, midway through our time in this amazing country, my wife’s (Val) sister died unexpectedly following a stroke. We’re currently in the ferry queue at Belfast dock waiting for the overnight ferry to Liverpool. So, you will understand, we really wanted something special to set us up for a very long journey (East Sussex, then all the back again). We CERTAINLY found what we were looking for at The Village Chippy. After a truly EXCELLENT Haddock and fabulous chips, plus a decent brew, we set off directly for the docks and the waiting ferry. I can’t recommend this place highly enough. GO!!

We called in at 3pm for a snack, there wasn’t anything left apart from a couple of sandwiches and a few bakes. This was fine, we found something that each of us liked. The table we sat at was filthy I had to clean it myself before using it and the station where the milk and sugar and bin is situated was disgusting. It had clearly not been cleaned in hours. The bin was overflowing and the station top was covered in rubbish.

Great night, with great music even for non drinkers! Not sure of food, as didn't have any.
