Excellent local pub with drinks that are at a great price. The customer service is excellent, the staff are very friendly and the pub itself is very clean and cosy. Food is okay, not something to write home about, but if you're there for the drinks and for the lovely atmosphere, you can't go wrong.

Great soft play area for young children. Plenty of parking. Had lunch in the pub food was great, however service was not great as they only had one person behind the bar who was serving, he was very grumpy!

Excellent service by Balot Box Team . Manager - Claire was very helpful and dedicated towards her which was evident from the way how she was treating the customers so well

We had a delicious meal but we were more impressed with how welcoming it was to us and our dog Mavis. She was brought some treats and water. It's the first time that Mavis has been in a pub. Thanks for ever everything.

I came here years ago and had a terrible meal experience . But came back with my now grown up daughter looking at the menu we planned to also come in for breakfasts in the future . The place was empty but we waited ages for our food. When it finally came chips were freezing so asked if they can redo. The waitress was very nice and took the meal back to reheat. When my daughter tried her burger she said it tasted like off meat. I thought she was being fussy and so I said I will have it. I took one bite and heaved the meat tasted off it was awful. We didn't even wait we just left as I had ordered on the app so thought to complex to ask for a refund. Wasted the whole meal. Never ever eating there again. Toilets were dirty also I should have known from that how the food was going to be. 😡😡

Sunday roast ,oh my god fantastic 😋 tasty, hot superb value l mean roast and glass of wine £ 10, you can't beat, just brilliant 😋 😀 👌 X.

Great place to relax on Sunday and it has some good traditional English food and offers going on always.

Had a great 50th birthday party here yesterday 19th January 2025. I invited 20 of my family and we had a lovely meal. The service was fantastic. One thing I really liked about the pub, was that it has a huge soft play area which was great for all the kids, as they thoroughly enjoyed it.

Really lovely pub, the new local, surprised it’s not as busy as is but up and coming, service from Claire was amazing all evening, food came out hot and tasted great. Atmosphere is up and coming, very family friendly, can imagine weekends are a bit livelier (also Guinness is great here, they even do a clover) 😇

Place is great. Lovely, clean and chill atmosphere for a weekday drink and food. Claire’s service was brilliant and recommended options for me and my girlfriend. Prices are amazing for the area.

Had some problems there before but my visit this weekend was by far the best ever. The new manger was amazing and kept both of my kids entertained playing games and being so helpful and kind the place also seems much cleaner. Its also great value for money.SOFT PLAY *****

A real hidden gem. It's not always easy to eat out with small children, but this place makes it work! It's very accommodating for toddlers, with both indoor and outdoor play areas and a good kids' menu. Plenty of space inside, a nice local vibe and excellent value food. The staff are very kind and helpful.

We had amazing time on yesterday birthday celebrations,magnificent service special Klaudia went about and beyond to ensure everything was perfect,her professionalism,attentiveness and warm demeanor made us fully truly welcomed and well taken cere of.It was a perfect place for a birhday memorable celebration.

Now not Dog friendly.. Told by the manager guide dogs only. So now the visually impaired can have a drink and a meel with there dogs. However those with sight cant...Dah! Another joke managers policy... Considering the pub is situated near the woods where people walk there dogs and may want to come in for a drink or a meal... But no.. Wait we can see and dont need a dog to guide us to the bar..but not allowde in. Will be closing down shortly i hope.

Visited yesterday and had the fish,chips and mushy peas. I was served promptly and the food came quick and was hot and delicious.

Wacky warehouse in need of TLC. It's very dark for kids. It would be nice to have more lights around the play area as some area are really dark. It's such a shame as it's a colourful place but not bright enough to enjoy. Also we found Christmas light wires in the play ground wall net ,I think it was unsafe.

Amazing atmosphere and super friendly staff

I would like to share the excellent standard of service that I received at the Ballot Box on Friday 8/11/24. Myself and five friends were celebrating our friend's Birthday. It started at the front door a smiley, friendly and helpful member of staff help me and my CRUTCHES through the front door, then to my table. The bar staff Roxanne and Dean engaged us in very friendly conversations banter but maintaining a professional manner. I came away extremely happy and satisfied. People are always very quick to complain but slow to praise. Praise is certainly due for the Ballot Box staff especially Roxanne and Dean.

My daughter loves this place, we go to Ballot box 3-4 times a week, she doesn't get bored of it. The service is very friendly and helpful in every matter. The animator is a great lady.

Food is absolutely poor! Two foods were completely inedible. Ordered children’s meal deal to be charged extra for ice creams which is included in the deal, when asked why am I being charged when it’s in the deal to be told i had to order the ice creams at the same time as the food which was I in no way told I had to do this at the time of purchasing otherwise I would have. £2 isn’t the end of the world but for some people may not have planned to spend extra. To add more annoyance food came out wrong but all due to the girl doing the food run she sorted the problem quickly and was more than apologetic, however the man behind the bar is less to be desired.

I used to work down the road from the pub and go there after work with my work mates very nice pub friendly very welcoming and warm environment on a hot day nice garden to sit down with a couple of beers dog friendly too

It is an average pub. Nothing special about it. The food is average, the service is average, the prices are average. The reason I gave it one star is because of its recent no dog policy. I am a dog owner and it is the only pub in the area that does not allow dogs. So if you are a dog owner it is one star, and if you do not own a dog it is three stars.

We had a fantastic time here with our 4 kids. We went to Wacky Warehouse first at the back of the pub and we were treated like royalty by Claudia. She made everything so fun for us and we didn’t want to leave. Then on to the pub for some great food and brilliant service by Roxanne as always Thank you! See you soon!

We held our lovely Mum's wake at the ballot box yesterday. Roxanne and Shiv spent so much time with me in the days leading up to it choosing items for the buffet. The food was presented so nicely, it was plentiful and tasted absolutely delicious. They cleared an area for us so we wouldn't have people walking through. I think they went out of their way to make my Mum's send off special. Thank you both, and to your team

Good pub with good staff, decent decor, decent atmosphere, good value food for all the family and a nice little outdoor play area + an attached indoor playground for a separate fee. Plenty of free on site parking. All in all, lovely!

Nadia went above & beyond as always to take good care of our huge 9 person family!! Lol!! Nadia is a lovely young lady, very polite, very patient & such a pleasure. Every time I have come into the ballot box she has always greeted me with a welcoming smile. Please give her all the recognition she deserves. All the best to our dear friend Nadia.

It's just ok. Staff were very polite. It's a nice enough place for a drink or snack, but the main food was not very nice. Also, as other reviewers have stated, not ideal for young children, as the outdoor play structure is for older children and adults cannot enter the soft play with toddlers.

Ballot Box is our favorite place to dine! The food is absolutely amazing, with every dish crafted to perfection. The staff strikes the perfect balance of professionalism and friendliness, making each visit a delightful experience. Highly recommended!

Great pub with a nice outdoor seating area, very reasonably priced, never too busy. Staff are really friendly, the pub is very accommodating to children and there is a play area for them in the beer garden as well as across the road from the pub and there is a soft play area for them too. Very friendly atmosphere overall and close to some lovely local walks.

I grew up near this pub and have some lovely memories. A lovely peaceful beer garden surrounded the beautiful horsenden hill. Pub has parking and plenty of seating. Great drink selection, food Is unfortunately is very Iceland esq

My wife visited your pub today 18th. June with her friends. When asking for cups of tea she was informed most abruptly that no hot drinks were available due to a faulty appliance. As drinking tea is one of the traditions of this country I find it very strange that The Ballot Box should be probably the only pub in England that does not serve our national CUPPA. (Shame on you).

The food has gone from acceptable at best, to inedible today. By all means come here for drinks, but bring your own sandwiches if you must. Food quality has become so low lately.

The food here used to be good.Went there a couple of days ago and ordered exactly what i had last time i was at the ballot box and the food came out looking mediocre,no presentation whatsoever,tasteless,microwaved and hardly any food on the plate!Dont know if the chef is new but they definitely should not be sending food out looking like that!Would not recommend eating here!!Staff at the bar always cheerful and friendly!

We have become regulars at this pub because of the welcome and friendliness.

We've been visiting this place for years now. Both my partner and I love to spend our time here, especially after a long week. The food here is absolutely delicious! Every dish we tried was bursting with flavor and was cooked to perfection. We also love their cocktails not only the taste is good but the price is also affordable. The team is very friendly and attentive. We highly recommend!

We had a great experience at Ballot Box. Nice pub with a relaxed atmosphere. Our kids loved the indoor softplay and outdoor play area. Staff were all really friendly and the food selection was good. Lots of vegetarian/PB options, too. Plenty of on-site parking and a short walk from the Horsenden hill area.

This is a great place to stop for a pint during a long walk. Also our go-to place for supper if we don't want to cook. Always a pleasant atmosphere and the food is good.

LONDON’S LARGEST UNDER-TABLE CHEWING GUM COLLECTION..Nice pub, lovely beer garden and surrounding green area. Good value food. Management is impressively poor when it comes to cleaning standards. Every table has hoards of chewing gum stuck underneath, the walls and ceilings are gross with stains, marks etc. Also, the pub can’t even turn their own radiators off apparently, been told by staff multiple times when it’s been very hot out, yet the massive radiators next to multiple tables are at scalding to touch temperature - that they are on a timer. Laughable really. Staff attitudes are hit and miss. Great place for kids, but overall poor standards.

Friendly staff, fresh food, generous portions (perhaps too much, if anything!) V quiet at 1-2:30 on Thursday afternoon.

Food was delicious and such good value for money. Ian at the bar gave great service and helped me make it really easy to use the tesco voucher which they accept on all days so very worthwhile. Nice location and atmosphere. Welcomes kids (outdoor play) families (very considerate with its own entrance so you don't have to go through the bar) even water for dogs to play in the back. Place is clean and fast service. Seating outside. Free large car park. Everything you need. Had a nice evening out know a warm sunny day. Massive park right opposite to continue your day.

We came here as a family yesterday and it was our fist time to celerate a 37th birthday. We all loved the venue and had a great time, it was a perfect set up for our kids especially with the outdoors space and Wacky Warehouse access for just £5 a child. The food was great and waiting time was not long at all. We were looked after by the wonderful staff who was Klaudia. She was very helpful and kind, with great customer service. Reece and Sana were also really helpful in the softplay area. We will definetly be back soon! Thank you for a great time!

This is a great family pub, with a soft play wacky warehouse and a little play area outside. Staff are friendly and the food is delicious. This is a favourite with the whole family.

A great place to take the kids, great prices, food was delicious, the only thing was a bit of slowness in drinks arriving when booking from the table. No drama though they arrived after about 15 mins.
