Never disappoints, staff are 10/10 and the managers and owner take time to talk to the customers. The food is prepared insight and of the highest quality produce. Each element is seasoned and is a flavour sensation. The different sauces are flavour bombs in your mouth. It’s nutritious and wholesome. The restaurant is small but bright and light, the staff joke and smile, the food is prepared with love. Some of the best Middle Eastern food in London for sure. The menu is simple and concise but more than enough options, if your a meat eater you won’t miss meat as the vegetables salad and falafel all assembled as they are leave a feeling of completeness, you will leave feeling satisfied having had a journey of flavour and sensations that will leave anyone with a big smile on there face, especially knowing that the food is healthy and nutritious. I have visited most of the branches and had equally as good experiences at each. Thank you

The food at Balady is just superb. Big portions so well worth the money, and you have to have the chips too. . Falafel is great, the cauliflour schwarma, heck its all good. Just go, you wont be disappointed.

Unfriendly poor service. Isn't it odd that the 3 positive reviews are all from the same writer? Makes you wonder how genuine they all are.

Are chips was burnt it tasted like charcoal and the tap next to the bathroom was so close to the sink so when you wash your hands they just get dirtier as a half Israeli icon approve the food was overpriced for falafel

Probably the best falafel in london. Plus you could combine it will a fine ale at the Olde Mitre Inne next door before or after. = perfect night out.

Too disappointing for words. Just a 360 awful experience from the ordering, to the service, to the food. We so wanted this to be good food and the sort of place we'd go to weekly, but sad to say we will never eat there again.

Two years old this month Balady serves the far north of greater london where some fear to tread. Owner Oz is to be congratulated for serving this kind of food and Kosher in Barnet. I enjoyed hummus sabich (includes boiled egg and freshly scorched aubergine) and Moroccan coffee. Use this place or lose it!

Absolute rip off! Stingy with the toppings and then don’t give you what you actual order and to top it off £10 for large chips. Such a shame because the falafel is nice but this place is clearly only interested in taking as much money off you as they possibly can.

I have ordered two falafels and sat down waiting for my order, someone else comes in orders two falafels and he got served first … honestly blatant racism in a restaurant ??? After this racist incident Not coming again .

Food is good if you can get it but service is hopeless. Have tried to go there several times but closed when it's supposed to be open. Tried again today and although there was a staff member there, was told thay the guy who serves was "out at the shop". Won't bother again.

Extremely poor and the person serving said it like I should have realised. If you not going to have any food left two hours before you close. Just close. What a waste of time.

Excellent Israeli kosher street food - and I had one of the most delicious shawarmas in laffa and my other half enjoyed her pargiot and salads. It all stayed agreeably warm until we schlepped home to Essex! Well served by a friendly chef - but a bit on the dear side, even if I left without paying and rushed back!

Just ordered through Deliveroo. We ordered two falafels lafa. When it turned up there was only one (the receipt clearly said two). We called them up and they said they ran out of lafa and only had pitta so only sent one ??? How does that make sense?? Wouldn’t it have made sense to send in a pitta and send an apology note instead of sending only one. What a bunch of muppets!!!

I've just had the great pleasure of enjoying an amazing falafel wrap, made all the better being made and served by Leon, who is passionate about what he does, and is very entertaining in his conversation. If I lived closer, I'd be there more often, but saying that, perhaps I just need to make the trip more often, it's that good. Can't wait for the next chance to go to Balady...

Saw some bad recent reviews but the food & service were very good. The guy was downstairs when I arrived as it was very quiet but I just needed to give him a shout

So went there last night as the guy was closing didn’t check before. But with open arms he still served us he turned everything back on and made us the most wonderful mixed grill of menu with salad and rice on the side forgot to take a picture but it was absolutely delicious and put some really good Isreali music. amazing salad dressing and was a very friendly and funny guy would recommend.

Awful.. £29 for two pots of humous that would have tasted better from Sainsburys. Stingy with the pitta and rude service. Would definitely NOT recommend. Save your money.

Awful experience. Person working there was downstairs most of the time and did not seem to want to be there or serve! Food is not great and stingy portions for the price which is more than restaurants in NW London. No atmosphere and would not recommend. Shame as could have been a great place to serve those in area wanting kosher food.

Like others have mentioned, I was excited when this kosher restaurant started doing meat, and wanted to give it a try. Sooooo disappointing. Arrived to empty restaurant - no customers but also no staff and no music so zero atmosphere. When someone did appear from downstairs it felt like serving us was a bit of an effort and as if we had put him out. Ordered schwarma in pita - it was not rotating on spit as would expect, but instead actually in a plastic container. Given the price £13.50, the amount of meat actually given was extremely stingy and disappointing taste-wise. Chips were not really hot and quite soggy. For price, food and service I would not recommend at all and will spend money elsewhere. Shame as could really have been success given that it is only kosher restaurant in that area.

Got no idea how to make falafel. Stingy on all the topping and pita cut all the way through. Horrendous service when I called to complain.

I had a wonderful meal last Wednesday the food was delicious with great service would highly recommend.

Went here today, the shawarma was spectacular and the customer service was great. The kid handling the salad bar gave great recommendations for what to get. Overall was pleasant experience.

Shocking service, shocking food. Do not take note of the previous reviews, this place has changed hands. They have some arrogant kid working there, who has no idea. The food is bland, the service is even worse and the pricing is ridiculous. Far better kosher places.

Having just emerged from an unexpectedly depressing movie, we needed some happiness, and Balady provided it in spades! We loved the bright fresh decor, and the friendly guy serving us was patient and helpful (AND checked that we were enjoying our meal!) And the FOOD! There's a great choice, the flavours are wonderful, our dishes arrived quickly, and our mood improved 1000% ! Thank you, Balady, for saving our evening :)

I was excited of the prospect of a kosher meaty restaurant in High Barnet. When this place was just serving falafel it was a solid place. Now, it’s shockingly bad. Firstly, the service is beyond shocking. They seem to have employed a very young person, who has no idea about customer service. We ordered some chips with our food and just refused to serve them to us and not bothered about forgetting. Now onto the food. The laffa is dry and chewy, and you can taste how stale it is. For the extortionate prices you would expect freshly made bread, this is not the case. They say they do shawarma, but it’s pre-made that is kept in a box, and it’s just about edible. There are no positives that I can give l, shocking food, shocking service and extortionate pricing. If you want good kosher food, there are far better options in North-London, this place is just terrible.

Zero stars. As it is local restaurant at my area, I have decided to give a try. Really shocking. Even to share my experience makes me do not feel comfortable. There are only few really good restaurants on High street so far. And it is not one of them. Good places always are full of customers. Really I should not pay for my falafel at all as I have been shocked by this restaurant hygiene and safety standards work plac and poor( I'm just trying to be polite) customer service. So it's not freshly made food at all as well.

I had the great pleasure to unexpectedly find Balady in Barnet, and as I can never say no to a good falafel, I'm so glad I stopped in, as I can now say I've found my new favourite falafel place in London. Dan was so welcoming and personable, and we spent a good 5 mins chatting before I left, she was that friendly. Unfortunately, it was her last day, as she's moving on to pastures new, and I wish her all the best... Well done Balady! I'll be back!

No idea what the food is like because the service I experienced was non existent. Never been successfully served here - the staff just ignored me. Won't bother wasting my time again.

best falafel and sabich! balady was recommended to me by a friend and gosh is it tasty!! so warm and fresh, not too oily and so light! i can’t wait to go back nor can i believe it is so nearby!

Ordered first time from here and the lfood was way too salty. The chips, falafel and Amba sauce. The flavours were OK but it was so salty I couldn't eat it. Please reduce the amount of salt you add to your food. Oh I also ordered the morrocan cigars, it was very salty also and really oily and gross. I don't think I'll order from here again.

Chips was burnt , I asked the in brackets cook about them he tried to lie and say they was fine , the manager agreed they was way overlooked , as a chef/ cook you should have more pride in letting plates out the kitchen to the customer in the condition what I received . The falafel wrap was poor also , I asked for all the vegetables available , the cook decided he wouldn't only a little lettuce and gherkin , I asked and was told it was in fact all put in as I asked , I had to open up and show the cook, he was lying , so he added was I asked for then. The wrap was it was average at best and very oily, I just don't understand why the cook would like about burnt chips and then not put the ingredients I asked for in the wrap , clearly he's a pathological liar or something wrong with him ? I am baffled . Lastly fridge where the drinks were kept was not working correctly so cans was slightly colder than room temperature, I wish google allowed me to give zero stars because this place would receive 0 ! . I am very disappointed in the whole experience and its a shame as I love to promote vegan/ vegetarian restaurants. Disappointed .

Really amazing food - a hidden gem in the High Street and deliciously veggie! Haven't tasted falafel so good outside of Israel. We'll be back soon 😄

Just had a great meal at Balady. Falafel with salad. Friendly service, nice surroundings, and absolutely terrific falafel.

Wow to get this kind of food this far north of the centre of London. Falafel and hummus is their speciality. The restaurant is brightly lit with tiled walls and floor. You may pay by card now as well as the cash option. All the food is veggy/vegan and delicious.

Used to go to the one in Temple Fortune and glad they have opened up a new restaurant up here now that we’ve moved further north. Love the falafel and hummus bowl

Definitely best hummus and falafel in the area. Been there 3 times now and always great. Very nice people serving the food too.

Great to have Balady in Barnet. Open throoughout the Bank Holidays (not Saturdays though). Take cash, they don't accept creditcards yet. Shakshuka excellent, so is everything else. Highly recommended.

Second visit this week. Fresh falafel and homemade houmous, what's not to love. Looking forward to picking up challah on a Friday morning. Fab additional to our local high street.

Beautifully delcous food, sort of on the pricey side but lovely otherwise, very smooth hummus. A recommend. Understood my medical dietary needs.

Balady Barnet is amazing! We had the falafel in pitta, cauliflower shawarma and chips and it was all delicious. Great selection of drinks too. Staff are also wonderful and very helpful, in particular Leon. Will definitely make it a regular place to go to :)

Delicious food, freshly made falafel and hummus with salad in a pita. Nicest takeaway to beat the news. Can't wait to try the Shakshuka for breakfast one day. Lucky Barnet to have Balady. Enjoy x

We dined at this new reataurant as part of a social event with other members of our synagogue.There were over 20 of us sitting on benchs which didnt feel very stable!We were given proper plates and plastic cutlery,which is not acceptable.The starters were pretty sparse,a bit of rice,cauliflower,aubergine.The main course was slightly better,choice of falaffel,corn schniztel or a larger portion of the cauliflower.Dessert was bacclava and then some horrible Morrocan tea. Iknow we were a large party,but if this restaurant is to survive they will have to do better!

I had a quick yummy lunch here on just their 3rd day open. No meat on the menu and possibly no dairy either. I had the hummus sabich which includes salad, fried aubergine and boiled egg. Two oven hot pitas are included. The Moroccan coffee tasted very authentic.

Another winner from the Balady boys ! Having visited the Golders Green branch whenever possible I couldnt wait to try out their new outlet (much closer to us). We got takeaway with all the classics - falafel, hummus, pickle THOSE HOME MADE CHIPS!!! and the wonderful Baklava. I would have taken photos to share with this review, but we couldnt wait to dive in. We'll be back (and maybe I'll get some photos next time !!)

Great Fallafel, crisp and delicious with good pita, salad and tahnini. I'm planning to work through the whole menu asap!!
