After a previous bad experience here, it was nice to return and get excellent service and delicious food

Lovely meal with my friend, we went at lunchtime on a Monday and it was the right level of busy. Nicely decorated throughout, great service and wonderful food, reasonably priced too.

Very disappointed in tonight’s service- no one asked if we wanted desserts, coffee or any other drinks. Could not even catch a waitress to ask for the bill. Stood at the bar and waited. When someone appeared I asked if they were short staffed? Response was NO!

I visited for a meal with my partner and we was served by Jo... who is happy, friendly and very warm and welcoming... I haven't been here for a while the food standard is still good, we will definitely visit again. 🙂

Stayed at the premier inn next door. Stopped here for tea, Staff were lovely and friendly spotlessly clean throughout. Great selection of meals on the menu, ideal for a fussy eater like me, great selection of sides if you just wanted to graze. Had the vegetarian grill, I liked it that much, I went again the following day and had the Garden Patch Medley. Lovely place, great outdoor seating area.

Very happy. We have visited this place many times but usually for a quick cup of tea and coffee. The staff are always pleasant, the place is clean and it is a lovely environment. Tonight, the young lady who greeted us was once again friendly and efficient. Initially, we were there just for tea but ended up having a meal. The lady understood our needs and was totally accommodating. The food was of a great standard, excellent portion, and served as requested. I didn't get her name but will do next time however, as mentioned above, we find all the staff to be excellent. Thoroughly recommended by us.

Courtney was our server, lovely girl nothing too much Shame didn’t have any cauliflower cheese or cracking,however was late in the day that we visited.

Really enjoyed our Sunday roast here, Courtney was really helpful and attentive and made our experience really nice. Definitely would recommend.

The roast dinner was amazing, best potatoes I've ever been served! Well worth every penny. The waitress called Holly was brilliant as well, always available to assist when needed, without hassling in the process. A five star experience indeed!

We have popped to the Bakers arms for a couple of drinks in the past but decided to pop in today for Sunday lunch. Given it was Father’s Day and obviously very busy we were given a nice table straight away. We had a 3 course meal and have to say it was amazing. One of the best roast dinners I’ve had In a very long time. My wife said her sea bass was cooked perfectly. The service was outstanding particularly from Courtney who looked after us. Really nice atmosphere. We will definitely be back very soon. A+++

Nice roast dinner, just hot enough. Waitress Courtney friendly and enthusiastic, doing a decent job at a busy time. Shame the gammon not on Sundays as this is a favourite!

Big airy pub. Had sea bass which was tasty but the vegetables made it. Got served very quickly and didn't have to wait around. Had it at 1 pm but I'm going to have to have another meal this evening!

I didnt actually plan to come back to this pub after my experience of really unfriendly staff a few years ago. I vowed not to go back, but we wanted dinner and the pub down the road had no parking spaces left. On entering we were met with really friendly, welcoming staff. The menu was what you would expect with some specials on the walls. I am assuming he was the manager but he often passed the table and said hello, it was a great experience. The food was lovely, very comforting food that my parents would have loved. The atmosphere was lovely and the decor was pleasant. The toilets, which always dictates the way a pub is run to me, were pristine. I will definitely be back.

First time eating here and wow...the food was amazing. Had the Sunday roast which was the best roast we have had out, much better than Toby. Would highly recommend.

Up market pub with oak beams and country cottage feel. Great restaurant menu and nice large outdoor seating area. Manager and staff are excellent.

Visited today for a drink and decided to have some sharing food. It was awful, everything was deep fried and tasted and looked the same, the batter was so thick you couldn't actually taste anything else. The chickpea dip was OK, but we got 1 piece of tiny bread between 2 people. I would definitely not recommend this dish. I have eaten here many times from the main menu and the food has always been really good so quite disappointed today that the food wasn't upto the usual standard

Really friendly staff. Ellie, Sophie and John deserve a shout out. We stay here for business a lot. So use this pub every time we stay. Really good food and a great selection of drinks.

Disappointing visit. We booked for a large number (11). 3 of the party cannot eat garlic, which is added to most items on the menu, including the roast potatoes in all the roasts. Unfortunately, it is also appears to be added to the veg in the roasts, even though this is not mentioned on the menu. The Roast Sirlion beef was extremely tough and rubbery, but was better than the turkey which was small in portion, and very strange in taste. The best comment we had from our party about the food was 'its ok'. The meal took a long time from ordering to service, but this could be because there was so many of us. A few things were ordered, but not served, and were removed from the bill. Overall A real shame as we loved the menu in advance.

Working away every week, you tend to get your usual haints and hotels dotted around the country that you tend to use. Being in North lo.don I always try to Use Prem Inn Waltham Abbey. Not necessarily because of the hotel, but because of The Bakers. The staff can't do enough to make sure you are happy with dinner. The standard of food is high with chefs specials and really tasty options. The FOH team are super friendly and always go the extra mile to please. A great place to eat, wether for a meal after work of family occasions. Well done to the team.

Not as dog friendly as they say.

We went for a pub lunch as it was a fab day and place dog friendly (according to website). Staff were friendly and plentiful but the food quality was very poor. - over cooked and full of oil. - felt like frozen stuff, fried and served. - value - ok but not restaurant quality. When did we lose the ability to do good food? Sorry but we will not be coming back anytime soon.

Really nice place and the staff are so lovely. Can't say the same for the food though, which would be another important factor for most. Top marks for having a gluten free Sunday roast option and maybe it's pre-prepared, which might explain why it was slightly disappointing, with what seemed like frozen roast potatoes and withered vegetables. If this is the case maybe there's a way that people who can't tolerate wheat could have the same standard as gastro typicals in future ? Although, as I say, well done for having the option at all. And such lovely staff

This hugely welcoming pub had fantastic food, excellent prices and was perfect for the whole family, including the dogs. Dog blankets and treats made them feel very welcome.

It's quite good, but only good. Food feels mass-produced, and portions are on the small side, which would be fine except the prices are not. The staff are nice.

What an amazing pub… The staff were so friendly and accommodated me so well. I have complex dietary conditions and I never expect anyone to put themselves out for me. The Bakers Arms definitely opened their arms with a plater, not for everyone, but for me was amazing. What do you expect from a pub… you’re not five star dining…. Or are you? Well their sorbet is amazing. No desert wine, try the Chapel Down English Rose’. For a great pub a great match… thank you guys 🤗

Popped in for breakfast at 10am on Sat after doing the Gunpowder parkrun. Pub is lovely inside. It was very quiet when we were there but service was friendly and welcoming. We had bacon sandwiches and coffee before carrying on with our journey north. I would recommend to other parkrunners as this is a gem of a place for a parkrun breakfast.

Roast Potatoes were hard and some cold. Meat was dry. Gravy was miniscule, as was my starter for what I paid for it.

Such a lovely little pub, stopped by with my partner after a dog walk. Was so impressed with the service and warm welcome from Coral. Was given great suggestions on food options (which were delicious!) and chester was delighted with his treats and fresh bowl of water. Will be coming back here with friends and family for sure.

It's a Green King pub. Staff were great, the roast was ok, but the brownie and ice cream was fantastic.

Popped in after visiting Gunpowder Park with friends and our dogs. A very dog friendly pub, our booked table had dog mats and bowls waiting for us. Big terrace out the front which looks like it will be good in warmer weather. The roast was great too.

Recently visited this beautiful pub and enjoyed a lovely meal. Food is plentiful and tasty and the staff are very friendly and polite. So why only 4 stars? As this is a Chef and Brewer pub, my AA membership allows me to get a discount of 15% off the bill. Unfortunately the pub's machine which allows this wasn't working. My intention was to take the 15% discount and then add this amount as a tip for the hard working staff. So please rectify this and, I'm sure, other customers will do the same as me and increase the tips for the lovely staff.

We enjoyed an evening meal at the Bakers Arms. We found the menu quite varied. The food was good and served nice and hot. We would visit again and enjoyed the atmosphere and the waiting staff were friendly and efficient.

Carded my son who is nearly 20. He left his Driving Licence behind so the barmaid would not serve him. Wouldn’t mind if he didn’t look his age! Went elsewhere. Response to the owner’s post. Your duty of care is to ensure that no one under the age of 18 is served alcohol.Your statement regarding a policy to a duty of care to 25 year olds is self imposed. I used to enjoy the Baker’s Arms and was a regular a few years ago. However, we are now enjoying a superb all you can eat Chinese in Hatfield Galleria with a pint which I thoroughly recommend to everyone.

Lovely, warm atmosphere and for a relatively new build, comes across quite oldy worldly. And now a newly added outdoor deck area, which will be great in the summer. Extensive menu and always a board full of specials to choose from. Service and food all good. Plenty of parking (attached to a premier inn)

We all had steak pie. The pie was huge and the gravy was good. The contents of the pie were not good. There were 5 lumps, 4 being fatty gristle and ony ocupying about 10% of the pie the rest was air. So I do not recommend the pie. We were given free drinks but still a disappointment.

Went here end of November. Had Christmas menu. Everything delicious with good service and great atmosphere. Sadly went back on 29.12.23. Poor menu. Ran out of food, tea and coke. Despite being busy only 2 members of staff.

Brilliant Pub. The breaded mushrooms are amazing! The food in general is delicious and the staff are very friendly and catering. The atmosphere is really nice and the bar and restaurant have beautiful decorations. Would definitely come again :)
